Membership Monday ~ Feb. 2022 Whit Kit Lovely Reminder ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another CAS card using the beautiful February 2022 Whit Kit from Unity Stamp Co. called Lovely Reminder. This time I did a little masking and Distress Oxide ink blending... one of my favorite techniques for a quick CAS card!

I wanted a romantic color combo for my ink blending and I think I found it with Tattered Rose, Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks. I stamped the beautiful rose with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink.

I also stamped with sentiment with the Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink.

I die cut the card front with the largest Postage Stamp {nesting die} from the kit and adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. I finished off the card with a few translucent enamel dots. You can check out my process video here... Lovely Reminder Card | Feb2022 Whit Kit | Unity Stamp Co.

Be sure to check out the Whit Kit membership at Unity... today is the last day to sign up for the February 2022 Whit Kit!! If you already have the kit, I hope you share your creations in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Done in Love ~ February 2022 Whit Kit Lovely Reminder ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Life has been so crazy busy lately and I've been neglecting my inky time. I can tell when I don't get much inky time because my mood changes... I seriously rely on my inky time to keep me sane. With that said... I finally found some time to play and I pulled out my February 2022 Whit Kit! I've been seriously excited to play with this kit because of the envelope stamp in the kit, but I didn't even ink it up! LOL!

When time is short I love to make pretty CAS cards! I also love to stamp on Kraft card stock. Now when I made this card I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to do, but I ended up changing a few things. One of those ideas was to do some white acrylic paint splatter on the large background behind the rose.

That's why I stamped the rose on a scrap of Kraft card stock and die cut it with the coordinating die. It still gives it some dimension on the card. I also planned to use a satin ribbon that matches the ink, but it wasn't working with the edges from the Postage Stamp {nesting dies}. So I opted for some burlap string!

And to finish off the card I added a few translucent enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs. The large panel and the sentiment are both popped up with foam tape. If you're interested to see my process you can check it out in my process video here... Done in Love Card | Feb2022 Whit Kit Lovely Reminder | Unity Stamp Co.

Be sure to check out the Whit Kit membership at Unity... the February 2022 Whit Kit is still available for just a couple more days!! If you already have the kit, I hope you share your creations in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group! I'll be back tomorrow with another card using this fantastic kit!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 19 ~ Hot Cocoa Love ~ Not 2 Shabby

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's been a busy week at the Minkler house and I've been getting worried that I wouldn't have time to make my weekly Christmas card. So when I had a bit of time I thought I'd use some fun ephemera that I got awhile ago but haven't played with yet. And I got the coordinating papers too!

So... here's my card!! Cute, right! I love how quick it came together using ephemera and the pattern papers! And since it was so quick I actually made two cards!!

I picked two cute pattern papers from the Hot Cocoa Warm Hearts paper pack from Not 2 Shabby and cut them to 4 x 5-1/4". I stacked the papers together and cut them at an angle. Cutting the papers together makes it very easy to line them up for this particular card design.

I adhered the pattern papers to a black card front and die cut some black card stock with the Stitched Ric Rac die from My Favorite Things. I adhered the Ric Rac die cut to the card. And popped up the ephemera piece with foam tape.

Now for card #2!! Aren't those marshmallows just THE cutest! I love them!

I used the leftover pieces from the first card which made this card SO easy!

The Cocoa Love ephemera pack didn't have any Christmas sentiments so I looked through some of my other ephemera packs and found the Say Cheese Christmas ephemera from Simple Stories that had a couple sentiments that worked perfectly for my cards.

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 19 for the month of February! There's still a few days to play along with the sketch! If you'd like to see more inspiration for the sketch head on over to the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back on Tuesday with inspiration for the new {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 20!!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 19 ~ Wonderland ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing my weekly Christmas card and I used THE cutest snowman stamp from Unity called Wonderland!! I just love this cute stamp so much... such an adorable snowman with his big head and little body! Oh my gosh... I just love him so!

I had colors in mind for him when I picked him out but I didn't think to pick out my papers before coloring. So I was in a bit of a pickle when it came to pairing up the colored image with papers. I decided quickly though that I wanted blues in the papers and then I remembered the Winter Blues papers from Ink n' Splatter.

You can't go wrong with plaid and I love the snowflake papers... I did still wonder if it would work with the snowman. But once I added the stitched Ric Rac die cut over that line where the papers meet... I was sold. What do you think?

Here's a list of the Copic Markers I used to color up the snowman:

Snow ~ B000, B00
Nose ~ Y06, YR15, YR68
Buttons ~ N0, N1, N3
Hat ~ N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, R20, R14, R27
Scarf ~ C00, C2, R20, R14, R27

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 19 for the month of February!

Sending Prayers ~ Prayers & Adoration Poppy ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm excited to share another card using another wonderful new release from Unity Stamp Co. I love this big Prayers & Adoration Poppy stamp!! So beautiful and fun to color!

Poppies are definitely one of my favorite flowers to color. I usually think of poppies being red, but I like to try out other colors when I'm coloring and this time I went with a pretty coral color.

I die cut the stamp with the large Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} from Unity and adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base. The sentiment is trimmed and then I adhered a couple extra layers of card stock underneath to pop it up slightly but not as much as foam tape would have done.

Here's the list of Copic Markers I used for this card:

Stems / Leaves ~ YG11, YG03, YG63
Petals ~ R01, R12, R22, R35
Flower Centers ~ Y11, Y06, Y15, R22

A close-up of that beautiful flower!! Love it!

Coolest Chick Square Notecards ~ Coolest Chick Ever ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Unity has an amazing new release and sale going on right now! I couldn't wait to play with the cute chicken in the Coolest Chick Ever stamp kit!! This adorable chick with the glasses has got to be my favorite chicken from the trio in the set... SO cute!

I decided to make a couple note cards with basically the same colors but change up the color of the glasses and the coordinating card bases.

I kept the design of each card pretty simple with just the chicken and sentiment together. And then I stamped the cloud stamp four times and colored just the bottom of the clouds with blue Copic Markers.

I fussy cut the clouds and cleaned up the edges by coloring them with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

I was able to use two clouds per card to make it look like four partial clouds. I adhered one side of the cloud and cut along the edge with my scissors and then used the cut off portion on the other side of the card. A super easy trick!

The chicken layer that measures 3-1/2" squared was adhered to a Kraft piece of card stock that I die cut with the Square dies from Newton's Nook Designs. And then I adhered the layers to the Daffodil Delight and Real Red card bases. The card bases measure 8-1/2 x 4-1/4"; scored at 4-1/4".

I just realized that I didn't color the sky around the chicken... LOL! Well, I think it still works. Maybe it was a cloudy day. Oh, well... I still think they turned out cute!

Here's a list of the Copic Markers I used for both cards:

Chickens ~ C00, C2, C3, YR21, YR15, R00, R20, R27
Bows ~ Y11, Y15, R20, R27
Glasses ~ R00, R20, R27, Y11, Y15
Clouds ~ B0000, B000
Hearts ~ R20

Be sure to stop by Unity Stamp Co. and check out the amazing new releases and, of course, the fab sale!

Book Lovers Gift Idea ~ January 2022 KOM ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I had a fun gift idea for a crafty friend that is also a book lover and I used a stamp from the January 2022 Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Co. along with elements from the sweet gift that Unity sends along with the Kit of the Month membership. In the January KOM I received a piece of pattern paper, some gold cord, a colorful wood button, a flower wood piece, a little Kraft package and it was all in a small paper bag that I used to package my gift to my friend.

I apologize for the poor quality photo of my project. I was so excited to send off the gift that I made that I forgot to take pictures of the card I made and the packaging... LOL! I did, however, record my process in making this gift and you can check that out here... Book Lovers Gift Idea | January 2022 KOM | Unity Stamp Co.

Yummy Mini Slimline ~ Love And A Fabulous Cupcake ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a quick and yummy mini slimline for a last minute Valentine's Day card! I used the sweet Love And A Fabulous Cupcake digi stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard for this yummy card.

I started by combining and resizing the digi stamps in this set in a Word Document. When I plan to make a mini slimline I usually turn my images sideways and keep them at the top of the document. I do this for two reasons... first, to keep the images at either end of the paper so I'm not wasting a full sheet of card stock printing it off. And second, so that I can use the rulers that are available in Word to help me get the size just right.

I die cut the image with the beautiful Pleated Lace Mini Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. And then I got to coloring with the following Copic markers:

Cherry Heart ~ RV0000, RV21, RV14, E21, E23, E25
Icing ~ C00, C2, C3
Cupcake Liners ~ BG0000, BG23, BV0000, BV02, RV0000, RV21, RV14
Grounding ~ C00, C3

I kept this card very simple and just adhered the die cut and colored panel to a pink mini slimline card base measuring 6-1/2 x 7"; scored at 3-1/2". Done... a quick and easy Valentine's Day card!

Here's a look at the cute Love And A Fabulous Cupcake digi stamp set!! Love it! Stop by Polka Dot Orchard to see all the fun Love Day digi stamps! These are great for all those last minute Valentine's Day cards!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 19 ~ Winter Bunny Cuddlebug ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card using the adorable Winter Bunny Cuddlebug stamp from Unity Stamp Co. My daughter adores bunnies so I tend to collect bunny stamps and this one has been a favorite of ours for some time now.

Before I started coloring up this cutie I picked out my papers. I chose the Christmas Magic paper pack from Doodlebug Design. My main reason in picking this paper is I wanted traditional red and green in the paper with a bit of pink too. I love pink in my Christmas cards... I don't really know why. It's not my favorite color or anything... I just like it!

I cut my pattern papers and adhered them to a green card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". And then I stamped the sweet bunny and the sentiment with Gina K Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select white card stock from Papertrey Ink.

Oh my gosh, I just realized I forgot to adhere the stitched Ric Rac that I had die cut to cover the line between the pattern papers!! LOL! Ooops... oh well. Anywho, I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to a green mat. And then I colored up the cute bunny with the following Copic Markers:

Fur ~ C00, C2, C3
Inside Ears / Nose ~ R00, RV10, RV11
Hat / Mittens ~ C00, C2, YG11, G14
Cape / Socks ~ C00, C2, C3, R20, R27
Present ~ E21, E23, R20, R27
Snow ~ C00, C2

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 19 for the month of February!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back next Friday with my regular weekly Christmas card using this month's sketch!

Membership Monday ~ New Year's Card ~ January 2022 Whit Kit from Unity

 Hello there crafty friend!
I got inky one more time with the beautiful January 2022 Whit Kit from Unity Stamp Co. called Resolutions. I know... we're already in February and here I am sharing a New Year's card. LOL! It doesn't hurt to get ahead though and now I have a cute New Year's card in my stash!

It also helps that this card was super quick!!
I cut my layers from the Resolutions pattern papers in the card kit and mat them on True Black card stock.

I adhered all the layers and even added a 1/4" strip of a third pattern paper across the bottom layer just to break up the background on the bottom layer. I think it also brings the eye to my focal piece - the cute hat!

I stamped the hat with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink and then colored the band with a few Copic Markers to give it a gold shine. I used Y21, Y23, Y26, and Y28. I also used Y21 on the sentiment on the hat. I used the coordinating dies from the card kit to die cut the hat and popped it up on the card with foam tape. Easy peasy... and like I said, super quick!

Here's another look at the awesome January 2022 Whit Kit - Resolutions! Such a fun kit!  Unfortunately, this kit isn't available anymore but the stamps and Resolutions {paper pack} are available at Unity. I hope you've been inspired to pull out your Whit Kit and get inky with it! A couple of weeks ago I promised to share a fun gift idea using the January 2022 KOM but my family and myself all got sick and I wasn't able to get that done. I plan to finally share this fun idea next week for Membership Monday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

~ Friends of Unity February 2022 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's one of my favorite times of the month... time for the Friends of Unity Blog Hop!!
I've been excited for this month's hop because our cue is one of my favorites. Any guesses what it may be?! I bet if you've followed my blog for awhile you could make a pretty good guess. Well, let's have a peek at our cue this month...

... A FUN SKETCH! Yay!! I love a good sketch... and this one was fun to play with. I have two cards to share with you today!

My first card is a pretty mini slimline card using a new release from Unity called The Girl Moves Forward. This beauty is a new Angie Girl by the one and only Angie Blom... love this new girl! I paired her up with the beautiful Simple Spring {paper pack}.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for this beautiful girl:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ E43, E44, E47
Pants ~ C00, C2
Shirt ~ C00, C2, R01, R12, R22
Hair Tie ~ YR0000, YR30, R01, R12, R22, BG23

The sentiment is also from the The Girl Moves Forward stamp kit... I cut a couple scraps of card stock to fit under the sentiment to pop it up a bit. This is an alternative to using foam tape that I like to use... it doesn't give as much bulk to the card. I finished off the card with a bit of {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String.

*Squeal* I am SO excited that Unity has Winnie the Pooh stamps in red rubber!! Woohoo! So stinking fun and I couldn't wait to play with this cutie from the Winnie the Pooh: How Do You Spell Love stamp kit! I went with the A2 size for this one but adjusted my layers so I could use the fantastic Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} - unfortunately, these are currently sold out.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for this card:

Piglet ~ RV0000, RV10, RV14, RV21
Pooh ~ Y06, Y11, Y15
Flowers / Leaf ~ Y02, Y11, Y15, YG03, YG11
Ground ~ YG03, YG11
Sky ~ B0000, B00

My card stock layers are Spring Rain and Spring Moss from Papertrey Ink. And I used some more of the {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String around the top of the card front.

My design just wouldn't allow for the second sentiment on the front so I brought the image and sentiment inside the card. Piglet and Pooh are stamped with Weathervane ink from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize package and that lucky winner is...

... Debbie Bohanan!! Congratulations, Debbie!
Please email me at crystalominkler@gmail.com to claim your prize.
Prize must be claimed within two weeks.

Well, that's it for me this time! Please hop along and enjoy some more inspiration from the Friends of Unity... I can't wait to see how our friends were inspired by this month's cue! Let's keep the party going and I'll do another fun giveaway this month!! Be sure to hop along and comment for a chance to win! I'll announce the winner next month!

Let's get to the hopping...
