Scrapping for Less ~ November 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ A Little Inspiration

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a little more inspiration using the November 2020 FOTM Card Kit Simply Sentimental. I had a fun idea for a quick card while creating my cards for the hop and reveal so I gave it a quick try... Loved it!! So I decided to make three more cards using the same techniques and they really were quick!

My first original card... I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of Pink Lemonade card stock. I inked up the de-bossed side {the side that indents) of the Hearts Embossing folder with Sweet Blush dye ink from Papertrey Ink. I then ran the embossing folder through my big shot... now when I did this the card stock jumped a bit {my plate is really bowed in the center... I keep flipping it over but I think it's time to replace the plate} and that's why the bottom portion of the card looks blurry... almost 3D.

Anywho, I do love the texture that this technique gives to the card!! I trimmed down the card front to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a Kraft card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I then wrapped the card front with the beautiful ribbon that I received in the Banana Split goodies! With a separate piece of ribbon I tied a bow and I adhered it with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from the Thanks So Much stamp set found in Collection Two with Classic Kraft ink from Papertrey Ink. I masked the little heart in the sentiment... I thought it would be fun to use a little heart punch from my stash to add a little interest to the sentiment. I finished off this card with a few sequins, also from the Banana Split subscription.

My second card... I used the very same technique for this card and the next two. For this one I used Picket Fence Distress Ink in the embossing folder and the Razzleberry card stock from the card kit.

I also used Raspberry Fizz dye ink from Papertrey Ink to darken the raised hearts and also for the heart at the end of the sentiment.

For card #3... I used Mint Julep dye ink. Isn't it beautiful!

This one just might be my favorite of them all!

And the last card... I used Melon Berry dye ink. It has almost a wood grain feel for this one with the colors and also the texture in the background.

And I changed things up with this one and used a different thank you sentiment from the same stamp set. I like how it changes up the design of the card.

I do have a video sharing the process in making the last three cards and finishing up the first card with the sentiment. You can check that out... here!

A look at all four cards! Which one is your favorite?! I'd love to know... if you have a minute, please share in the comments. Well, that's it for me this time!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

This card kit is seriously sentimental... and fabulous!!!

I had a blast creating my cards to share with you all... let's check them out!

Collection One: Puppy Paws
How adorable is this sweet puppers?! Oh my goodness... with this sweet stamp plus all the adorable papers in the Puppy Paws papers you just can't help but smile when you see them. I couldn't wait to play with this collection. I used the first sketch in the November 2020 Sketch Sheet and really this card was quick! I used the following Copic markers for the pup:
Fur ~ W00, W1, W2, W4
Tongue ~ R00, R14
Nose ~ N0, N1, N4
Paws ~ R00, W1, W2

Collection Two: Thanks So Much
The papers in this collection are absolutely gorgeous!! I just had to feature the beautiful floral paper for this card... I love it! I stamped the sentiment with Sweet Blush ink on white card stock and ended up having to trim the left side to fit in the angle there. I would definitely recommend adhering your sentiment first... lol. Hindsight and all that, am I right?

Collection Three: Family Ties
So... I was instantly drawn to the gray and teal papers in the Family Ties paper pack! Amazing!!! I paired them up with the dark grey card stock... love this card!  I used a corner rounder on the two top corners and a stitched hillside die on the teal flower papers. I stamped the sentiment with Weathervane ink and die cut it with a circle die. I then mat it with a scalloped circle cut from the same dark grey card stock. Love love love this card!

Collection Four: Wildflowers
And another collection with beautiful aqua colors in the paper!!! Be still my heart!! Of course, I paired it up with the kraft card stock in the kit. I used Classic Kraft ink for this card from Papertrey Ink and colored the flowers very simply with BG10 and BG23. Love the fabulous ephemera pieces in this collection! They make for such a quick card! I used this fantastic collection for my sneak peek. If you missed it you can check it out here... Sneak Peek card!!

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Teresa!!

Scrapping for Less ~ Fall Inspired Memory Dex Cards

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a couple Fall inspired Memory Dex cards using the newly released Scallop Flower Create-a-Dex die set from Scrapping for Less along with a few other fun products from the shop!

How cute are these?! I used the pretty Always Changing papers for these sweet Memory Dex cards with the Autumn Blessings die and the Sweater Weather stamp set. Now, I've shared a few different cards using the Autumn Blessings die... I love the beautiful font in this die!! Check out my Cozy Fall card, my Let's Bundle Up card, and my Fall is Coming card for more inspiration with these products.

A closer look at the Fall Sweet Fall memory dex card... I love the colors in these papers! I used the following copic markers on this card ~ YG03, YR12, YR16, BG0000, BG01, BG11, BG23.

I'm entering my Fall coffee themed memory dex card in the Fall | Winter 2020 Coffee Lovers Hop... I adore the CLC hop each time it comes around and just can't help but play along as much as I can!

Today is the last day to play along in the hop... but you should check it out! Lots and lots of fabulous inspiration from all kinds of talented cardmakers!! Okay... back to my cards.. lol

I have a little video sharing the coloring and assembling of this card. You can check that out here...

And a closer look at my second memory dex card using the Autumn Blessings die and I created a pretty Fall flower using the stitched flower that's included in the Scallop Flower Create-a-Dex die set. I die cut the flower three times and using my bone folder I rounded the petals a bit. The brad that I added in the center of the flower is from my stash... I'm actually not sure where it's from.

I finished off the memory dex card with a few orange enamel dots from Carta Bella's Fall Break collection. I just love how these turned out!! That's it for me this week... I'll see you next week with my sneak peek for the November FOTM card kit!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

~ Friends of Unity November 2020 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!

Welcome to the November 2020 Friends of Unity Blog Hop! Our cue this month is Backgrounds...

I think backgrounds could be backgrounds created with different kinds of techniques and such, or background stamps... and I've created a few cards using background stamps!!

I just HAD to use the new Let's Get Merry {slimline} stamp... but I used it for an A2 sized card. Love love love this stamp!!! I've stamped it on Canson XL 140lb watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx black ink and watercolored it with my ZIGs. I used Lilac (No.083) and Blue (No.030) with a good amount of water for the leaves and Yellow (No.050) for the center.

I trimmed it down and die cut the right side with a stitched hillside die and then layered it on Lilac Grace and True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Let's Get Merry {slimline} stamp on my white card base and then adhered the watercolored panel. I debated adding enamel dots, splatter, glitter... you name it, I thought about it. LOL... but I decided to leave it like this. I love how it turned out!

My second card was so fun to create!! I stamped A Little Christmas Carol background stamp with Green Galore ink (Stampin' Up!) and then again with Marina Mist ink (also SU!). I die cut the green one with the Forest Border die from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut a piece of Green Galore card stock with the same die and adhered them together a little offset so the green card stock gives a bit of a border. I then blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink over the clouds of the Wave and Cloud stencil from the June 2020 Whit Kit called Live in the Sunshine. I mat the background pieces on a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" white card front and then adhered it to a Kraft card base. I just love the scene I created with this one background stamp! So fun!

Then I just HAD to color up the adorable gnome from the Gnome One Like You stamp set that is the current freebie during the big Brown Thursday sale at Unity Stamp Co!! Love this little guy! I colored him up with the following copic markers:

Nose/Hands ~ E000, E00, E11
Beard ~ C00, C2
Hat ~ R000, R14, R46
Dress ~ G14, YG17, YG23
Shoes ~ N1, N4, N6
Heart ~ R14, R46, G14, YG17, YG23, E57

I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Let's Get Merry {slimline} stamp... I trimmed it and mat it on Real Red card stock. I popped it up on the card with foam squares and then added a couple enamel dots.

And my last card featuring the gorgeous new Funky Flowers {slimline} stamp... this one is also stamped on Canson XL 140lb watercolor paper. I used a whole rainbow of ZIGs to watercolor this but I wanted a Fall palette so I used richer tones. I then splattered Dark Roast and Gold silks all over the panel. I made sure to dry the entire panel well with my heat tool.

I die cut the watercolored image with the Big and Little Chain Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. I mat it on Gold Metallic Kraft stock from Tim Holtz and then adhered it to a 3-1/4 x 8-1/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock and then adhered it to a Kraft slimline card base.

I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx black ink and trimmed it. I mat it with the Gold Metallic Kraft stock and adhered it across the card.

A closeup of the teal flower... I really love how this one turned out. Such an amazing image to watercolor! I love it!

Okay... now for some quick business before we get to the hopping.

Scrapping for Less ~ Sketch Challenge #9 ~ Christmas is Covered Card Kit

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing the new November Sketch Challenge for the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group!

Before we get to the sketch and the card that I'm sharing today... the key to playing along with the challenge is being a member of the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group so if you aren't already a member be sure to join in the fun ---> here. Also, please note that you don't need a blog to enter the challenge as you're adding a photo of your creation directly into the challenge album in the group. You are welcome to include a link to your blog in the description of your creation, if you'd like.

So, if you follow my blog you may remember this card design from a few months ago. I used it on another card and I really like how fast it came together so I decided to use it for this challenge.

You may also remember seeing this sketch during the reveal and hop for the new October 2020 FOTM Card Kit - Christmas is Covered... if you haven't hopped with us yet, you can start hopping ---> here.

And here is my card for inspiration using some products from the beautiful Christmas is Covered Card Kit that just released! This was super easy to create... I think it may be a go-to Christmas card design for my stash, especially using the adorable Ephemera pieces!!

Here's a close up of the card! I have a video showing my process in creating this card. Just a note, I added the enamel dots after doing the video. I realized I had omitted those when taking my photos of the cards. LOL... but they really finish it off nice.

I actually made this one first to share but then decided to make a video with another card to share how quickly it came together. Love these ephemera pieces!! So cute!

Both cards together! I really hope you'll check out the sketch challenge and play along! I know it's getting ready to be a busy time for many preparing for the holidays so a quick card sketch can help when it comes to making those holiday cards for your stash!

The November Sketch Challenge will run from today, November 1st, and will end November 30th at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be announced in the comments of the challenge album on Tuesday December 1st. Please use #sflsketchchallenge9 in any social media posts when playing along with the challenge.
