Scrapping for Less ~ Summer Daisies Paper Pad ~ Post It Note Holder

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a fun swap that I made for fellow SFL design team member Stacy using the beautiful Summer Daisies paper pad that was recently released at Scrapping for Less. I combined the papers with some other products in my stash... let's have a look!

I started with a cereal box... yup! You read that right. I cut all of my pieces for the post it note holder from the cereal box first. Here's a link to the tutorial I used... Easy Note Pad Holder Book.
I used the cereal box in place of the chipboard coasters mentioned in the tutorial.

I covered the cereal box pieces with pretty polka dot papers from Stampin' Up and then used the gorgeous Summer Daisies from SFL to decorate and embellish the other pieces. The beautiful ribbon is from Papertrey Ink... seriously a mash up of products from my stash! The daisy is one of my digital stamps available at Polka Dot Orchard... called Whoops a Daisy. I printed it out, colored it with a few copic markers and then fussy cut it. I couldn't find quite the right sentiment, so I just printed this one off from my computer on card stock and fussy cut it.

The side view... I only had a couple post it note pads in coordinating colors.
This holder could hold a lot of post it notes!

The inside... isn't it cute?! I've had that mini pen from the Dollar Spot at Target for years... it works perfectly with this holder!

To clean up the edges of my patterned papers I used a sanding block that I've had in my stash forever. I believe it's from Stampin' Up as well.

That's it! It was so fun to create something to send off to a crafty friend!
I definitely need to make more of these!

Check out all the new fabulous paper pads recently released at SFL here... New Paper Pads!!
This paper hoarder has to have them all! Lol..

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Scrapping for Less ~ August 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Bubbles Galore

Bubbles! Who doesn't love playing with bubbles? Some may think they are for children but take out a bottle of bubbles and just see how many people would love to chase one down or wait for it to land on your finger so you can pop it!

This month's kit is all about bubbles of all kinds...so grab a bottle of bubbles or go soak in a bubble bath and hop along as you see what the Design Team and guest designer have to share! You can find this month's kit under the Card Kits tab on the home page of the website. Make sure you also enter our Rafflecopter for a chance to win a prize. ~ Teresa, {SFL Owner}

Here's a quick look at the August 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ Bubbles Galore!!

Double Dip Subscription...

Banana Split Subscription...

Oh my bubbles... I am loving this kit!

Lots of gorgeous papers, adorable stamps and all the embellishments... a must have!

Collection One: Bubbles in the Tub
So... I absolutely adore the stamp in this collection, BUT when I saw the fun sketches for this month's kit I had to showcase the adorable papers!!! How sweet are those ducks and their bubbles?!

And that sentiment is spot on! A bubble bath can fix a lot of things!!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
Spellbinders Standard Circle dies

Collection Two: Country Bubbles
Oh my... do I love a punny stamp set! So when Teresa asked me if I could draw a chicken blowing a bubble, I wasn't sure what she was thinking! But I honestly adore how this collection came together. The punny ephemera pieces included in this collection really add to it!

You can check out the inside of this card by watching my YouTube video...

I love the mix of country and punny in this collection! So much FUN!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Copic Markers ~ RV0000, RV10, RV11, RV29 (bubble gum); C00, C1, C2, R000, R14,
R27, YR0000, YR24 (chicken); G000, G03, G21 (grass); B0000, BG000 (sky)
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
My Favorite Things Oval STAX Set 1
Stampin' Up Corner Rounder punch

Collection Three: Sea Wishes
I had a blast coloring up this sweet stamp... and cheated on my background by fussy cutting around the colored image and adhering it to the pretty patterned papers. Unfortunately, that meant I had to cut the bubbles away but I was able to replace them with the enamel dots included in the kit!

I have a short video sharing this card. You can check that out here...

A close up of this cute stamp! I just may have to color this one up again... I can see so many possibilities for this adorable fish!!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Copic Markers ~ YR15, YR31, YR68 (fish); YR15, YR31, Y06, B000, B41 (cake);
YG13, YG63 (seaweed); E18, E30, E33 (sand/rocks)
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
Spellbinders Standard Circle dies

Collection Four: Bubbles Galore
The papers in this collection are FANTASTIC!! The ombre backgrounds, the colors, the beautiful bubbles... oh my goodness!! I didn't want to cut into these! But alas, Teresa said I had to (not really)... I did struggle in picking which papers to use. I decided a pretty monochromatic card using this ephemera piece was the ticket! AND those sequins were perfect with this card!

Such a fast card... and I love how it turned out!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Beth

Scrapping for Less ~ August 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Sneak Peek

Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm back with a sneak peek of the fantastic August 2020 FOTM Card Kit with a Bubbles Galore theme!! I'm sharing some of the fun products available in the Banana Split Subscription and the punny stamps from Collection Two in this sweet shaker card I created!

I went with a mostly pink monochromatic theme for my card... but colored up a brown chicken so it would pop on the card. I don't make too many shaker cards... for whatever reason they don't usually work out for me, but this one did! I had so much fun creating it!

I have a process video for this card on my YouTube Channel. You can check that out here...

The FOTM card kits have been selling out quickly each month! Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on receiving this kit! And don't forget about the reveal and hop tonight at midnight EDT... the design team and our guest have lots of fun inspiration to share!

Scrapping for Less ~ July 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ Tropical Fruit Collection

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing one more card using the beautiful Tropical Fruit Collection of the July 2020 FOTM Card Kit!! I had fun designing this card with almost a monochromatic feel with all the green papers, but a splash of yellow and pink!

I really like the unique design of this card with the focal image to the side. Mix matching the pretty Tropical Fruit papers for this card was fun, too!

I really love this sentiment... so punny! I also enjoyed coloring these pretty pineapples. I used the following Copic markers: Y11, Y13, Y35, E23, RV34, RV91, YG03, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG63. I fussy cut the pineapples and adhered the larger one to the card front. I then popped up the smaller one using foam squares. I also popped up the sentiment and finished off the card with three pink enamel dots. I adhered the finished card front to a white card base. I think it turned out pretty cute!

That's it for me this time.

Scrapping for Less ~ July 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ Tropic Vibes Collection

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a couple of cute cards using the Tropic Vibes Collection of the July 2020 FOTM Card Kit! I am loving the gorgeous papers in this collection! For today's cards, I'm actually making two cards using one 6 x 6" sheet from the Tropic Vibes papers in the collection.

I trimmed the patterned paper to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" and then used a stitched scallop border die to cut both ends of the paper. A great way to use gorgeous papers in a simple card design.

I trimmed a piece of white card stock to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a pink card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I then adhered the patterned paper to the card front and then adhered the entire panel to a white card base. I popped up the beautiful Tropical Vibes ephemera piece as my focal image with foam squares and finished off the card with a few pink enamel dots.

My second card using the other piece of patterned paper... with the same design, just flipped!

A super easy way to get two cards (plus scraps for a third, maybe) from a 6 x 6" sheet of patterned paper. For this second card, I stamped the flamingo from the Tropic Vibes stamp set and colored it with the following Copic markers ~ R00, R01, RV00, RV10, RV21, RV23, Y11, Y13.

A look at both cards together! Love how these turned out!

Scrapping for Less ~ July 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ In the Tropics Collection

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a sweet card using the July 2020 FOTM Card Kit using the In the Tropics Collection. I absolutely love this palm tree silhouette!! It really makes for great scene cards!

I used some Copic markers to create a light scene around the black palm tree silhouette. I went a little heavy on the oranges in the copic coloring because I knew I was using the yellow and orange papers from the collection and card kit. And I threw in a little purple-pink to work with the flower accent!

I used the following Copic markers for this card ~ B0000, B000, RV10, RV21, Y11, Y15, Y35, YR15.
I finished off the card with a few of the shell sequins. A simple design, but pretty!

~ Friends of Unity August 2020 Blog Hop ~

Hello there crafty friend!
It's the first Saturday of the month and you know what that means... it's time for the Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! I look forward to these hops so much each month. I hope you do too!

Our cue this month is Sympathy... a tough card to make at times. Definitely a card that we can't always be prepared for. With this in mind, I created 3 quick cards to share with you all.

My first card uses a cute Itty Bitty stamp called Floral Scroll that pairs up really nicely with just about any patterned paper to make a quick card. I cut my patterned paper to 4 x 5-1/4" and layered it on a piece of card stock measuring 3-15/16 x 5-3/16". I then wrapped some twine around the panel and adhered it to a white card base.

I set the card base aside and found an ink that would coordinate with the color in the paper... I settled on Crumb Cake. I stamped the floral scroll image and then stamped the sentiment. I die cut the stamped image with a circle die and then popped it up on the card. A very quick card that could be made with any patterned paper in your stash.

My second card is very CAS... Clean and Simple... I did a little watercolor washing in the center of a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" piece of watercolor paper with Milled Lavender Distress Oxide ink. I heat set the background with my heat tool and then stamped the pretty flowers from the July 2020 Sentiment kit called Aging Gorgeously with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I set that panel aside and grabbed a strip of Vellum card stock. I stamped the With Sympathy sentiment from the September 2017 Sentiment kit called Abundant Blessings with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed some fine black embossing powder being careful not to warp the Vellum card stock. I adhered the sentiment to the watercolored panel with PLUS vellum tape and then wrapped it around the back and secured it with Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive. I then adhered the panel to a white card base. I really like how this one turned out and the background color could easily be changed up to suit the recipient.

My last card is actually a CASE... Copy And Share Everything... of a card that I made last year. You can check that one out here... Don't Give Up Sympathy card. I kept the Kraft and black combo, but decided to do a slimline card. I used my new Gina Marie Designs slimline dies to die cut my panels.

I stamped the beautiful floral from the Abundant Blessings sentiment kit with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and splattered some black acrylic paint on the panel. I set that aside to dry and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Kraft card stock. I mat it with some True Black card stock. All that was left was adhering my layers onto my Kraft slimline card base measuring 3-1/2 x 8-1/2". Another quick card!

Here's another look at all three of my cards together. I was able to make all of these in an afternoon... I hope these ideas are a help for when you are struggling to make that difficult sympathy card.

Now... it's time to announce the winner from my giveaway last month and the winner is...

Scrapping for Less ~ Sketch Challenge #7 ~ July 2020 FOTM Card Kit

Hello there crafty friend!
Today, I'm sharing the August challenge for the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group! This month's challenge is another sketch challenge. We had a great turn out for our July sketch challenge and I'm really hoping that this fun slimline sketch will also make for lots of entries in our August challenge!

Before we get to the sketch and the card that I'm sharing today... the key to playing along with the challenge is being a member of the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group so if you aren't already a member be sure to join us ---> here.  Also, please note that you don't need a blog to enter the challenge as you're adding a photo of your creation directly into the challenge album in the group. You are welcome to include a link to your blog in the description of your creation, if you'd like.

Let's have a look at the sketch challenge #7...

You may remember seeing it in the reveal and blog hop for the new July 2020 FOTM Card Kit - In the Tropics... and you may also remember my card using the sketch for the hop.

Unfortunately, I hurt my back the other day and I am having a slow go at creating right now so I'm sharing the card that I created for the hop. I do hope to share another card at a later time though.

I had a lot of fun blending the skies for this card. I may do a video and share some tips in how I kept the scenes in place throughout each circle. But that will be later in the month. Anywho, this challenge will run from today, August 1st and will end August 31st at 11:59pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the comments of the Challenge album on Tuesday, September 1st. Please use #sflsketchchallenge7 in any social media posts when playing along with the challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.
