{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 ~ Let it Snow ~ Doodlebug Design Inc.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I've been a bit puny the last couple of weeks so I didn't get my weekly Christmas card for last week done in time to share on Friday. But I finally got it done today and wanted to share it since it's the last day to enter the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18.

I used the adorable Let it Snow papers from Doodlebug Design Inc. along with the coordinating Odds & Ends pack of die cut pieces.

I turned the sketch on the side to work with the cute Santa Workshop die cut piece.

I adhered the sentiment strip from the paper pad to the bottom of the die cut piece and popped them both up with some foam tape. To finish off the card I added a few little epoxy stickers from the Frosty Friends Shape Sprinkles pack.

Here's another look at the {BYSHC} Sketch 18 for the month of January!
Today is the last day to play along with the sketch! Come join in the fun over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration, check out the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back tomorrow with inspiration for the new sketch challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Membership Monday ~ Quick Birthday Card ~ January 2022 Whit Kit from Unity

 Hello there crafty friend!
I have a little inspiration to share today using the January 2022 Whit Kit called Resolutions!
I've been in need of some birthday cards for my stash and I remembered the cute balloon stamp in this kit so I got inky!

This card has a few layers but really the design is super CAS and easy to make!

I went with a pretty color combo with blue-greens, yellow and pink... I like how it turned out!

I used Cracked Pistachio, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks along with the star banner and balloon stamps from the Resolutions stamp kit. The bottom layers are the recently released Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}, also from Unity.

I also have a quick video up on my YouTube channel... Reveal & Quick Birthday Card | Jan 2022 Whit Kit.

Here's a look at the awesome January 2022 Whit Kit - Resolutions! Such a fun kit!  I hope you've been inspired to pull out your Whit Kit and get inky with it! I'll see you next week with a fun gift idea using the January 2022 KOM for Membership Monday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 ~ Meowy Christmas

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card and this week I've inked up a really cute kitty stamp from the Meowy Christmas stamp set from The Greeting Farm. And I couldn't resist grabbing the Winter Plaids and Patterns paper pad from Ink N' Splatter to use for another holiday card.

I chose my papers first and got my layout all set. I stamped the tree, kitty and the hat with Memento Tuxedo black ink on a scrap piece of white card stock.

I stamped the sentiment with the same black ink in the top left corner of a 4-1/4 x 2-3/4" piece of white card stock.

Time to color!! I used the following Copic colors to color up these adorable stamped images:

Christmas Tree ~ BG70, BG13, BG18
Ornaments ~ B0000, B00, B02, V20, V22, V17
Stars ~ Y06, Y15, Y35
Kitty ~ YR30, YR21, YR14, W0, W2, W3, W5
Eyes ~ Y13, YG25, YG17, BG99
Present ~ V20, V22, V17, B0000, B00, B02
Santa hat ~ C00, C2, BG70, BG13

I fussy cut each of the stamped images and cleaned up the edges by coloring the edges with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. I adhered all the images together to create my little scene and then adhered it to the focal panel. And I finished off the card with a few Fall Foliage Clear with Color enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

Here's another look at the {BYSHC} Sketch 18 for the month of January!

Sending a Happy Hello with the Paint the Day Background Stamp ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Unity Stamp Co. is having a fun birthday celebration for Angela's 49th birthday!! Last week they released some fun new stamps and even some fabulous die sets... and this week they've released some more amazing stamps!! I'm sharing a card today using the amazing new Paint the Day background stamp kit!!

I had a fun idea for coloring this one up... I used a few different circle dies and lightly traced around them over the stamped Paint the Day Background. I did seven circles to represent the seven colors of the rainbow.

I copic colored the paint brushes within the circles using browns, neutral greys and cool greys.
Here's a list of the Copic markers I used:

Heads ~ {brown} E53, E55, E57, E59, {white} C00, C1, C3, C5, {grey} N0, N1, N3, N5, N7
Ferrules ~ N0, N1, N3, N5, N7
Handles ~ E21, E23, E25, E27, E29

And then I colored the background of each circle with a color of the rainbow starting with the top right circle. Here's a list of the Copic markers I used:

Red ~ R14, R20, R27
Orange ~ YR15, YR21, YR68
Yellow ~ Y00, Y06, Y35
Green ~ G07, G14, G20
Blue ~ B000, B00, B12
Indigo ~ BV02, BV04, BV08
Violet ~ V12, V15, V17

Once all the circles were colored I erased the pencil circles and trimmed my panel to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8". I adhered the paint brush panel to a black card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and then adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Sometimes I Wonder {March 2016 Sentiment Kit} with Wow Clear Embossing ink on black card stock and heat embossed Alabaster White Embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment and popped it up on the card using foam tape.

Such a fun way to do the spotlight technique! It did take some time and staying in the lines was also a bit of a challenge at times but it sure was worth it! Head over to the Unity Stamp Co. website to check out all the amazing new releases and of course, there's a wonderful sale!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 ~ Foxy Monochromatic Christmas

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a cute monochromatic card with a vintage vibe using the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 for the month of January and an adorable stamp from Unity Stamp Co!! Actually, I used four different stamp kits from Unity for this card... so fun to combine all these stamps for one card!

First I stamped the background for the bottom panel with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink on Kraft card stock using the Search for those Moments {Layers of Life 11/17} stamp kit and the Magical {Bliss and Wonder} {Layers of Life 10/13} stamp kit. I distressed the edges with a bit more Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink with a blending brush.

I stamped my favorite Christmas background stamp... The Christmas Tree background stamp... on a scrap of Kraft card stock with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and trimmed it to a banner. I distressed the edges of the banner using the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the Foxy Christmas stamp and the sentiment... yup, you guessed it... with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink on Kraft card stock. I trimmed up the panel and then distressed it again with the Ground Espresso ink. I mat each of the layers with a slightly larger piece of Early Espresso card stock and then another slightly larger mat of Kraft card stock. Each mat was approximately 1/8" larger.

I added a few scraps of card stock underneath the fox layer on the left side so that it would lay flat. I also added a couple scraps under the right side of the sentiment. A great trick to get all flat layers! I adhered the entire panel to a Kraft A2 top fold card base {turned on the side}. I finished off the card with a few Kraft enamel dots from the Cozy Flannel Gloss enamel dots pack from Gina Marie Designs.

Here's another look at the {BYSHC} Sketch 18 for the month of January!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! Come join in the fun over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration, check out the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back next Friday with my weekly Christmas card and more inspiration for the Sketch Challenge 18! And on a side note... Unity is having a sale with fun new releases for Angela's birthday!! Head over to the Unity website to check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cozy Vibes Coffee with Buffalo Check Background ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a sweet mini slimline card featuring two wonderful new releases from Unity Stamp Co... the fabulous Buffalo Check {slimline} background stamp and the beautiful Cozy Vibes Coffee stamp!! This coffee loving gal is seriously loving this new caffeinated and cozy stamp set!

The Buffalo Check {slimline} background stamp was stamped with black in on red card stock and then I die cut it with the Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs.

I mat it with a 6-1/4 x 3-1/4" piece of black card stock and then adhered it to a red mini slimline card front measuring 6-1/2 x 3-1/2". The card front was then adhered to a white mini slimline card base measuring 6-1/2 x 7"; scored at 3-1/2".

I used the following Copic markers for the Cozy Vibes Coffee stamp:

Mug ~ R14, R20, R27, R37
Coffee Swirls ~ E21, E23, E25, E27, E29
Snowflake Cream ~ Sakura white gel pen

I stamped the sentiment and added just a touch of R14 to the heart. Trimmed it up and mat it on black card stock strip that measures 61/4 x 3-1/4". I fussy cut the cup and used foam tape to pop it up on the card. To finish off the card, I added a couple black enamel dots from my stash.

~ Friends of Unity January 2022 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's one of my favorite times of the month... time for the Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! We changed things up and moved our hop to the second Saturday since last Saturday was New Year's Day. I definitely needed the extra time to get inky for this month's hop! December and the holidays were SO busy but they were also wonderful. No complaining here. Well, enough of my babbling! Let's have a peek at our cue this month...

...CAS Cards! If you're not familiar with CAS, it means Clean & Simple.
One of my favorite kinds of cards to make are CAS cards. I was so excited to get inky for this hop and I'm even more excited to hop along and see the inspiration being shared by all our friends!

My first card features a beautiful CAS pattern paper and sentiment from the December 2021 Whit Kit called Trust in its Wings. The papers and stamp kit are now available separately and are also called Trust in its Wings.

I cut the pattern paper to a card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I stamped the sentiment directly on the pattern paper with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink

I die cut the pattern paper with the largest stitched scallop dies from the new Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} and adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. Super quick and CAS!!

My second card also features papers and a stamp from the Trust in its Wings {paper pack} and stamp kit. My first card was so fast I couldn't help but make another with the same kit.

The background on this paper is perfect for a CAS card. The image is colored up very simply with the following Copic Markers:

Branch ~ YG03, YG63, YG97, E25
Berries ~ R02, R56, R59
Bird ~ C00, C1, C3, C5, YR24, E37

I used the coordinating die to die cut the image. The sentiment is stamped on True Black card stock with Wow Clear embossing ink and then I heat embossed some Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I trimmed the sentiment and then I adhered the birds tail and the end of the branch onto the front of the sentiment strip and the tips of the leaves to the back of the sentiment strip. I like how this grounds the bird but also gives it a bit of dimension.

My last card is a new release called Lollipop Love... I love this cute lollipop! *wink*wink* I kept this one CAS by adding just a bit of ink blending over the Heart Confetti stencil with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink. I just used a piece of purple tape on top of the stencil over the heart lollipop to mask it. I was too lazy to do a regular mask and the tape covered most of the image well enough.

I colored the heart lollipop with the following Copic Markers:

Heart ~ RV10, RV14, RV21, RV29
Ribbon ~ BV0000, V20, V22, V25
Stick ~ C00, C2

Similar to my first card, I finished this one off by die cutting the panel with the new Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} and adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. Three CAS cards done!
I sure hope you're inspired to use those CAS pattern papers or maybe a stencil from your stash along with your Unity stamps to make some fun CAS cards!

In celebration of our 4th Anniversary last month, I chose a lucky winner to win a fun prize package and that lucky winner is...
