{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 43 ~ Gingerbread Men Clay Embellishments ~ Twiddler's Nook

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing one last card for the current sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! A sweet gingerbread card! I used the adorable Gingerbread Men Clay Embellishments from our wonderful sponsor, Twiddler's Nook

I paired the sweet gingerbread men clay bits with the adorable Gingerbread Kisses 6x6 Paper Pad and ephemera from Not 2 Shabby. Sadly, it looks like these both are out of stock, but you can sign up to be put on the wait list for the papers when they come back.

All my papers are trimmed to the sketch measurements except the squares. I used the Scallops & Squares {nesting dies} from Unity Stamp Co. to die cut the pattern paper and a red mat from Real Red Card Stock from Stampin' Up. How cute are those little gingerbread men! They are having a party on the card! Hee hee!

To add a bit of dimension to the card, I added foam tape to the back of the ephemera and popped it up on the card. The cute sentiment is from the Gingerbread Hugs stamp set from Not 2 Shabby. Bummer... I am not seeing this cute set on the website anymore. Such a shame... it's just too cute! I prepped the card stock using the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool. Stamped the sentiment in my Mini Misti using the awesome Pressure Pal also from Twiddler's Nook. This handy tool isn't too heavy for my hand and it helps me to get even pressure on the stamp when I'm using my Mini Misti. I highly recommend it! Anywho, I heat embossed the sentiment with Sugar Cube Pigment ink from Taylored Expressions, Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe on Real Red Card Stock from Stampin' Up and melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. I like to use a Swiffer Dry Sweeping Cloth to wipe off the powder once I'm done embossing but definitely wait until it's cooled. It doesn't take long to cool... this step may save you from having to redo the heat embossing. Good advice from someone who has made the mistake of smudging up a heat embossed image! LOL!

Membership Wednesday ~ March 2024 BOM & UU ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a fun coffee card featuring the fabulous March 2024 Background of the Month membership along with the awesome coffee cup stamp from the March 2024 Uniquely Unity membership from Unity. These stamps were made for each other!!

I ink smooshed a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of Stampers Select White Card Stock from Papertrey Ink using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks. Once I was happy with my ink smooshed background, I stamped the awesome Global Brew background stamp using Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I cleaned off my stamp and also inked it up with the Antique Linen oxide ink but just at a diagonal across the stamp. I love how it gives a distressed look to the background.

I die cut the background using the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. I stamped the coffee ring and coffee bean a few times on the background using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I adhered the background to a white A2 top fold card base.

I stamped the Thanks A Latte cup on white card stock using the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I smooshed the Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink pad on my round acrylic block and used my water pen to pull some ink and color the coffee cup. Since I stamped on white card stock and not watercolor paper, I didn't use a lot of water and I only went over the cup once with the ink. I then put my panel back in my stamp platform and stamped it again with the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. This made any of the stamped areas that ran a bit with the water nice and crisp again. I fussy cut the cup and popped it up using a bunch of foam tape.

I die cut a scrap piece of white card stock using a die from the Scallops & Banners {nesting dies} and stamped the sentiment using the Ground Espresso oxide ink. I used an acetate grid to help me with placement. I had to shift the stamp a couple of times to get it just right. I adhered the sentiment directly to the card and trimmed off the excess from the top.

Here's a quick look at the Background of the Month membership this month! Love it!

Here's a quick look at this month's Uniquely Unity membership! So amazing!

Well, that's it for me today! Hope you have an ink-tastic day!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 20 ~ Pawsome Peepers ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a brand new sketch for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. Once again I had so much fun that I ended up making two cards to share! I veered away from using up my scraps because there weren't enough pieces to work with for this card design. But I'll be back with some 'scraps cards' soon! I did, however, use stamps that still hadn't seen ink!

My two cards for TOPII Sketch 20 featuring all of the adorable pup stamps from Pawsome Peepers from Unity Stamp Co. I just had to ink them all up! I thought these cuties would be perfect for this sketch all stacked up!

My first card featuring four of the adorable pups. I stamped them all using Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs. I colored them up with my Copic markers and fussy cut them out.

I paired the Pawsome Peepers pups with the Timeworn Paws Anthology {paper pack}. I used these beautiful papers for my daisy card that I shared awhile ago. I just love the gorgeous colors in these papers!

I die cut a circle from another pattern paper in the pack using a 1-1/4" circle die from the Nesting Circles Dies from Waffle Flower. I mat the pattern paper circle using a scrap circle in my stash. I'm not totally positive but I think it's a scrap from the Stitched Circle Plate Background dies from Gina Marie Designs that I used on a sweet gnome Halloween card last year.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up these pups:

Top: E50, E53, E21
Second: E000, E11, C00, C1
Third: N0, N1, N3, N5
Bottom: R00, R20, C00, C1

Here's a look at the fun new sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 20. Another great sketch for those larger leftover pieces. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I have a few fun ideas for this sketch and I hope to play some more with it during the next few weeks.

My second card featuring the other four pups from the Pawsome Peepers stamps.
Not only did I struggle to narrow down which pups to ink up for my card which resulted in my using all of them, I also couldn't decide on which papers I wanted to use. So I had to make two cards! All of my measurements are directly from the sketch. The only change I made was the black circle mat that's slightly larger at about 1-1/2".

The pups are adhered to a 2-3/8 x 4-1/8" piece of Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. The circles are adhered to the focal panel and then I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of both pieces and popped them up on the cards. I finished off the cards using enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs. They weren't labeled so I'm not sure which set they came from... sorry!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the last four pups:

Top: E000, E41, E53, E55
Second: R00, R20, C00, C1
Third: E11, E13, E17, E09
Bottom: R00, R20, C00, C1

The sentiments are also from the Pawsome Peepers stamps from Unity Stamp Co. I trimmed them and mat them with True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink. The white of the paper was a little to bright for the card so I used a blending brush that I usually use for Vintage Photo Distress Ink and just blended over the sentiment without adding anymore ink. I'm so happy with how these cards turned out! I hope you're inspired to play along with the sketch... and maybe even ink up a stamp set that hasn't seen ink yet! Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Paws Challenge #219 ~ Sketch Challenge Reminder

 Hello there crafty friend!
There's still time to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #219 - Sketch Challenge! You have until this coming Friday, March 29th to get your entries in for this fun challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

So bummed I was sick and wasn't able to play with this sketch the first week! I had a blast making a fun birthday card using the sketch.

I love the pretty colors in the Birthday Party 6x6 Paper Pad. They're so bright and really cover the entire rainbow of colors so I thought they would pair up perfectly with some red mushrooms using the Fabulous Fungus Stamp Set. I love the variety of mushrooms in this stamp set! The background plaid paper measures 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The polka dot paper measures 4-1/4 x 2-1/2". The party hat paper measures 2 x 5". And the streamer paper measures 3-1/4 x 1".

I die cut the Copic colored mushrooms using a stitched circle die from the Circle Frames Die Set. I also die cut a piece of Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up using the next largest circle die from the set.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Mushrooms: R20, R14, R46, W00, W1, W3
Grass: YG11, YG23
Sky: B0000, B000

I stamped the mushrooms and the sentiment using my go-to black ink for clear photopolymer stamps... Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the circles and then I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of both and popped them up on the card.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 43 ~ Peppermint Candy Embellishment Mix ~ Twiddler's Nook

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so happy to finally be playing again with the sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the Peppermint Candy Embellishment Mix from this month's fabulous sponsor, Twiddler's Nook! Unfortunately, it looks like these peppermints aren't available anymore but there's another fun mix called Christmas Confetti Clay Embellishment Mix that is available and includes some cute peppermints in the mix.

Twiddler's Nook has an amazing assortment of clay embellishment mixes!! I have a whole bunch in my collection. Some people use them for shaker cards, but I really like to use some of the bits on my cards. I used just a handful of peppermints for this card.

I paired up the cute peppermint clay bits with the beautiful Peppermint Latte 6x6 Paper Pad and the coordinating ephemera pack from Not 2 Shabby. I love using paper pads when I'm working with so many layers! The papers are already made to coordinate. I just need to decide which papers I want where! I mat each of my paper layers with Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up. The cute ephemera was the perfect peppermint touch!

I die cut the circle of Stampers Select White Card Stock from Papertrey Ink using the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} from Unity. The sentiment is from the Warm & Cozy Stamp Set from Not 2 Shabby. I just love how this card turned out and it was so easy just following along with the measurements from the sketch.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 43 for the month of March. Loving all the layers in this fun sketch! I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! A Pig Thank You ~ Wilbur ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a punny thank you card featuring the super sweet new Wilbur stamp that just released from Unity Stamp Co!! I don't know about you but Charlotte's Web by E. B. White has been a family favorite at our house. I've read it with each of our four children and we've watched the movie... such a super special story and Unity's captured Wilbur's sweetness in this new stamp!

I couldn't help but use another scrap of pattern paper from the leftovers that I've been working so hard to use up this month. I had one last long scrap so I paired it up with some yellow and green card stock also leftovers in my stash. The card stock colors coordinate pretty well with the chevron pattern paper. The yellow scallops are die cut using a scallops die from the Blueprints 22 dies from My Favorite Things {can't seem to find it on their website so it must be retired}.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19. Did you know I host a monthly sketch challenge in my group? This sketch challenge is actually ending Monday so if you want to play along get your entry in! The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I've really enjoyed the simplicity of this sketch. It made this cute card come together really quick!

I stamped Wilbur and my sentiment with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. And then I used the pattern paper colors as my inspiration for coloring my little scene. I die cut the pig with a stitched circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. I also die cut the punny sentiment using a smaller stitched circle die from the same die set.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Wilbur: RV0000, RV10, RV13
Red Flowers: R20, R14
Yellow Flowers: Y11, Y15
Grass: YG11, YG03
Sky: B0000, B000

I love the mix of Spring colors in my card! I adhered the sentiment to the pig circle and added foam tape to the back of both and popped then them up on the card front. I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base. I think this one turned out pretty cute! That's it for me today! Have an ink-tastic day!

Membership Wednesday ~ March 2024 KOM Love & Good Vibes ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a super simple mini slimline card featuring the beautiful sweet home stamp from the March 2024 Kit of the Month membership from Unity. I've had this quick card idea in mind since I saw the stamp. This would be a sweet card for someone who just moved or bought a home.

I stamped the sweet home stamp on Stampers Select White Card Stock from Papertrey Ink using Black Amalgam Ink from Gina K. Designs. I wanted to keep it simple so I just used a few colors of Copic markers to color it up.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Pink: RV10, RV13, RV04
Blue: B000, B00, B02
Leaves: YG11, YG23
Flower Centers: Y06, Y15, Y35

I die cut the colored panel using the Pleated Lace Mini Slimline Die from Gina Marie Designs. I also die cut the mat using the next largest die from Tempting Turquoise Card Stock from Stampin' Up. I considered doing another layer of maybe yellow... but I really like the simple Kraft in the background. It's a 6-1/2 x 7" mini slimline card base scored at 3-1/2" for a 6-1/2 x 3-1/2" mini slimline card.

I also considered using another sentiment to compliment the card but decided to keep it as is. I can add one later if I need to but I really think it's perfect as is. The die cut layers are adhered together and then I added a bunch of foam tape to the back and popped the panel up on the card base. Such a super quick and easy card!

Here's a quick look at this month's Kit of the Month membership! So amazing!

Well, that's it for me today! Hope you have an ink-tastic day!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19 ~ Good Days ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Thankfully, I am finally starting to feel better. This nasty cold had me exhausted and coughing up a lung. Ugh! It seemed to last forever, too! So I'm excited to be back with inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19 for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I'm continuing to use up those leftover papers from my days on the Scrapping for Less Design Team - over 3 years ago now! These leftover papers have just been taking up room in my studio so I challenged myself to start using them all up!! So, I'll be sharing the cards I create throughout the month. Some will be using the TOPII sketches and others will just be ideas I came up with using the last few scraps. I hope you're inspired to not only play along with this month's sketch, but also use up those scraps right along with me!

Because I love a challenge... I've also challenged myself to use stamps that haven't seen ink yet. So I inked up the adorable bunny from the Good Days stamps from Unity Stamp Co. Isn't that bunny and the cute chicks just too sweet?! I wanted to keep a simple color scheme since my papers were basically monochromatic.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color:

Bunny: RV0000, RV10, RV13, C00, C1, C3
Baby Chicks: Y11, Y15, Y35
Flowers: RV0000, RV10, RV13, BG0000, BG11, BG01
Ground: BG0000, BG11

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19. Did you know I host a monthly sketch challenge in my group? The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I've really enjoyed the simplicity of this sketch. This sketch challenge is actually ending next Monday so if you want to play along get your entry in!

I used another large strip of pattern paper from my leftovers and matched it up with a card front of Coastal Cabana card stock from Stampin' Up. I trimmed it to 4 x 5-1/4". The white scallops are die cut using a scallops die from the Blueprints 22 dies from My Favorite Things {can't seem to find it on their website so it must be retired}. I just die cut a couple of long scraps from my stash of white card stock and adhered them behind the pattern paper strip.

I fussy cut the bunny scene cutting the bunny on the black line and cutting a border around the grass, flowers, and chicks. Adhered the bunny scene to a vellum oval die cut using the Pleated Oval Die Set from Gina Marie Designs. I was then able to add glue behind the bunny scene and adhere the oval to the card - a great trick for adhering vellum. The sentiment is from the Sweet Easter Gnome stamps from Unity that I used for my card a couple weeks ago. I just love that font and stamped a few to have on hand. I added foam tape under the word happy and just adhered the other half of the sentiment using glue. This way the sentiment lays flat on the card.

I hope you're inspired to play along with the sketch... and maybe even use up some of those paper scraps and/or paper pads! Stay healthy and have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

What's Up Chick ~ Chick Tribe ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Have you seen the awesome new chicken stamps that were just released at Unity Stamp Co?! The Chick Tribe stamps are so fun!! Of course, they totally made me think of the cute chicks that we just got.

That sassy chick in the floppy purple hat is our very own Sunny B. She {or maybe he HAHA! We don't know their genders just yet} has been the Queen of the chicks so far. I had a blast coloring up these beauties with my Copic markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

All the Chickens: Y11, Y23, Y15, Y26, YR15, YR27, R20, R14, R46
Hats / Earrings / Glasses / Bloomers: V000, V12, V15, R20, R14, R46
Boots: N1, N3, N5
Hair: B0000, B000, B01
Grass: YG11, YG03, Y26
Sky: B0000, B000

I stamped the Chick Tribe chicks with Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. And die cut them with a die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Die Set.

I thought the pretty greenery in the Trust In Its Wings {paper pack} would be a nice background for the chicks. And used the polka dot paper for my card front. I added foam tape to the back of the chicks panel and popped them up on the greenery paper. I then wrapped the layers with a couple of pieces of {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String and tied a pretty double bow. I adhered the layer to the card front that was adhered to a white A2 top fold card base. I think this one turned out pretty nice! That's it for me today! Have an ink-tastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Only One Choice ~ Rise Up Darling ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I am in love with the gorgeous new Rise Up Darling stamp from Unity Stamp Co. I love the gorgeous flower and the designs all around it... so beautiful! So I had to veer from my plans for today. Unity is releasing some new and wonderful stamps today and I just had to play with this stamp! So I'll be back next week with a post finishing up those paper scraps! I hope you'll stop on by!

I just got my latest order from Unity and noticed that the designs in the Timeworn Paws Anthology {paper pack} looked kinda similar to the designs with the Rise Up Darling flower. So naturally I had to pair them up!

Inspiration for my card comes from the current Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19. I couldn't help myself... this sketch is so easy and versatile! I just had to use it again!

Stamped the Rise Up Darling flower with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. Colored up the flower very simply with my Copic markers and also stamped the the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock. I die cut the flower using a stitched circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. Distressed the edges of the trimmed sentiment and the die cut flower with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Lightly, not too much. I wanted it to be similar to the pattern paper but also have some white to work with the torn edges of the patter paper behind the flower. My layers are mat on True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used:
Petals: BG11, BG34, BG05
Flower Center: Y11, Y15, YR15, YR27
Leaves: YG11, YG03

I added a couple strips of tape runner onto my paper layers and looped some {Natural} May Arts Burlap String. I laid the circle over top to see that some of the loops stuck out, adjusting as needed. Adhered the sentiment to the die cut circle and then added a bunch of foam tape to the back of both and popped them up on the card. That's it for me today! Have an ink-tastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Inky Paws Challenge #218 ~ Color Challenge Reminder

 Hello there crafty friend!
There's still time to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #218 - Color Challenge! You have until this coming Friday, March 15th to get your entries in for the challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Here's another look at the fun colors... Violet, Lavender, Yellow, and White.

This time I played with the super cute Newton's Peeps Stamp Set. We just recently got some baby chicks and they are just the cutest!! For the color challenge I just colored them all yellow, but ours came as a mix of yellow, brown and black. All so cute! I fussy cut the cute little chick because I don't have the coordinating dies, but you better believe I added the dies to my wishlist! LOL

Inspiration for my card comes from the current Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19. Having this fun sketch in mind, I was able to whip up a cute Easter card really quick. Love how it turned out!

I stamped the sweet kitty and peeps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored it all up with some Copic markers. Die cut the kitty using a stitched die from the Circle Frames Die Set. Stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock and trimmed it. Adhered the sentiment to the circle and then added foam tape to the back of both and popped them up on the card.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the kitty ice cream:

Kitty: R00, R20, C00, C1, C3
Kitty's Collar: V000, V12, V15, V17, Y15, Y28
Basket: V000, V12, V15, C00, C1, C3
Bow: V000, V12, V15, V17
Peeps: Y11, Y15, YR15
Ground: N0, N1, N3

I used the pretty postage stamp die from the Framework Die Set to die cut the yellow and purple pattern papers from the Spring Blooms 6x6 Paper Pad. I trimmed the purple paper and adhered it to the center of the yellow paper for my background. I adhered the pattern paper layers to a card base of Orchid Opulence card stock from Stampin' Up {may be retired, not sure}. I've been using some of my colored card stocks for bases lately. I just go through so much white card stock! I have to supplement a bit to make it all stretch...

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project with the color combo of Violet, Lavender, Yellow, and White. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal
