~ I Miss You Every Day ~

I was encouraged... or maybe nudged by a couple of fellow inky gals to play along with this fun CAS(E) this Sketch challenge... how could I possibly resist!?!?!

Any excuse to play with some of my favorite Unity stamps works for me!! The background was made with a little masking magic, some oxide inks, and, of course, some water splatter. I stamped the flowers and the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I stamped the flower again on a scrap piece of white card stock and then colored it in with some copics. I basically paper pieced the flower onto the card base. I added a little tuft of 'grass' and called it done.

Here are the products I used for this card:
Card Stock: White (PTI)

~ Hello Friend! ~

I've just been waiting for a chance to ink up this fun bunch of fruit and I think the CASology Cue Card: Juicy was the perfect inspiration!

I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a white card base and then colored it in with copics. I added a few highlights with a white gel pen. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed white embossing powder on a strip of True Black card stock. I cut it into a banner and popped it up on the card. Bam! Love how this one turned out!

Make It Monday #293 - Color Slider Cards

It's a new week and that means, there's a new Make It Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to play along but I was struck with an idea this morning and just had to give it a go.

I have several family birthdays this month and I like to make individual cards for family members. I thought this technique would be a fun idea for a card for a certain someone. I want to keep it a surprise though. :)

I stamped the sunflower on a piece of white card stock and also on the clear card stock. I colored in the one on the white card stock using Copics. I decided I wanted to go with a kraft card base this time... it's just been awhile and I thought it would go with the color combo for the sunflower. I sort of followed the directions from the MIM video. I had to make some adjustments since I didn't have all the items that Lizzie used for her card.

I added some patterned paper from the Ripe Avocado pattern pack to a kraft card base. I also added a scalloped Ripe Avocado strip with a 1/8" strip of Bright Buttercup card stock. I used a die (not sure which one) to cut the top of the pull out piece. I also hand wrote 'Pull Here' because I just didn't have a stamp for that... shocker. This card was difficult to photograph so I hope it doesn't
seem to blurry to you.

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Botanical Blocks (PTI)
Tools: Stitched Rectangle Stacklets (TE), Window punch (retired SU!)

I'd love to hear what you thought of my creations.
Thanks for stopping by!

See ya next time.

CASology 5-Year Anniversary Blog Hop!

First of all, Happy Birthday CASology!! Congratulations on 5 fabulous years!!

To celebrate this fabulous anniversary, CASology has the cue card Balloon. How fun is that!?

I knew as soon as I saw it that I just had to use this adorable owl from a brand new sentiment kit from Unity Stamp Company. I decided to go super CAS with this card and let the sweet owl with balloons get all the love.

I find it so hard sometimes to transition from one medium to the next... do you do that too?
I've been working with watercolor more lately and it took me awhile to get this little owl colored how I wanted him with the copics. I do like how the card turned out, though.

Here are the products I used for this card:
Card Stock: White (PTI)

Go check out the challenge over at CASology... there's still some time to play along!!
Thanks for stopping by!

See ya next time.

CYCI159 - It's Your Birthday

Good Morning! This week I'm sharing a birthday card for the CYCI sketch challenge. I've been hoarding my packages of Inside the Lines designer paper from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-Bration time earlier this year. I finally thought it was time to break open a package and do some coloring!

I decided to color with Copics... I was concerned at first that the colors weren't blending well, but I think it turned out nice. The paper is pretty thin so it did get very saturated and honestly felt wet, but it was fine when it dried. I had a blast coloring... it's always so calming and relaxing for me. Once I had the piece colored in, I used a stitched circle die to cut it and also cut out a piece of white card stock. I adhered the colored piece to a white card base. I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Unity's So Glad You Were Born kit onto the stitched circle I had cut out. I popped the sentiment circle up using stampin' dimensionals and there it is!

CYCI157 - Sister of my Soul

It's time for another CYCI sketch challenge!! Yay! Here's my take on the sketch... I flipped it!

I've been playing with some new papers and loving them! For this card, I cut a layer of the type script paper and adhered it to a Vintage Cream card base. I stamped the image on white card stock using Memento tuxedo black ink and then colored it in using several Copic markers (listed below). I then die cut the pretty flower paper using my Fun Stampers Journey Snapshot Frames die. I adhered the die cut over top of the copic colored piece. I popped that up on the card base using stampin' dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink and heat embossed some fine white embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using Lawn Fawn's Everyday Sentiment Banners. I adhered the banner and added a few The Paper Studio Gemstones and BAM!

CYCI155 - A Very Simple Happy Birthday!

We are back with a very simple sketch challenge this week! In fact, this one was so simple I really struggled designing my card. Until, I realized... I have the perfect stamp kit for this!

I stamped the sentiment and the flowers using my misti, because honestly, it was the easiest way to line this up straight. With this image being my only focal point on this card - it had to be straight! I used Memento tuxedo black in and colored it with copics. I layered it on True Black card stock and then adhered that to a white card base. I decided it needed just a little something so I pulled out the ebony black nuvo crystal drops.

I can't wait to see what you create using this sketch as your inspiration!! Be sure to join our Facebook group so that you can enter the challenge... Can You Case It? Challenge Group and go check out all the creations by the CYCI design team on our Facebook page!

Here are the products I used for this card:
