Set of St. Patrick's Day Cards ~ All the Luck ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm a huge fan of St. Patrick's Day cards! I don't know what it is about them, but I love to make them and I love to send them to my friends. So I was super excited to see the March Madness Warehouse Sale over at Unity this weekend. Lots of fun St. Patrick's Day goodies {and lots of other stuff}!!

So I had to make a couple of cards... well, four to be exact! Once I started I just couldn't stop!

I started with a fun sketch and cut my papers for two cards. My first one features a stamp from the All the Luck stamps. Such a fun stamp! I paired it up with the Clover & Charm {paper pack}. The plaid paper measures 4 x 5-1/4". The shamrock paper is die cut with a die from the Scallops & Squares {nesting dies}. It's tucked under the kraft card stock across the card. And the focal image is popped up on the card with foam tape.

Card number two is very similar. The sentiment is from the Lucky Cuts Ephemera. I distressed the edges of the pattern papers and the ephemera piece. I also popped up the sentiment with foam tape.

Now, I had scraps and I wanted to see what I could do with them. I tore the edge of this beautiful paper and adhered it to a Kraft card base. The sentiment is popped up on the card with foam tape. Super easy peasy!

And the last card is very similar using two leftover strips. Also adhered to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape. A fun set of cards and they actually didn't take very long.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Paws Challenge #237 ~ Sketch Challenge {Week 4}

Hello there crafty friend!
There's just a few more days to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #237 - Sketch Challenge! You have until this coming Friday, February 28th to get your entries in for the challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

This has been such a fun sketch! I hope you have a chance to play along with us if you haven't already! There's just a few days left to play!

I decided to make another St. Paddy's Day card. This time using the Newton's Pot of Gold Stamp Set. I stamped the adorable kitty with his pot of gold using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored up the sweet image with my Copic markers. I fussy cut it leaving a skinny white border around the edges.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Kitty: R00, R20, C00, C2
Hat: N0, N1, N3, N5, YG11, YG23, Y11, Y15, Y28
Pot: N0, N1, N3, N5
Gold: Y11, Y15, Y28
Shamrock: YG11, YG23

I used the fun Pastel Basics 6x6 Paper Pad. I don't normally use pastels for St. Paddy's Day cards so I thought it would be a fun change. What do you think?

I die cut a scalloped circle of vellum card stock using a die from the Circles Frames Die Set to go behind the kitty leprechaun. It separates those layers but doesn't cover the fun green pattern papers. I finished off the card with a few green enamel dots from my stash.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the fun sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Inky Paws Challenge #237 ~ Sketch Challenge {Week 1}

Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun SKETCH challenge! I'm always up for a good sketch and this one is so fun with all the layers! You have until Friday, February 28th to get your entries in for the #237 Sketch Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Aren't those layers fun?! So many possibilities!

I wanted to make a St. Paddy's Day card so I went looking through my stamps and found the adorable Lucky Dog Stamp Set. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him up with my Copic markers. I die cut the pup using the coordinating Lucky Dog Die Set.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for the kitty and heart:
Dog: N0, N1, N2, N3, N6, C00, C1, C3
Hat: N0, N1, N2,N3, N6, YG11, G14, G07, Y11, Y15, Y28
Shamrock: YG11, G14, G07

I went looking through my paper pads for green papers and found the Bright Basics 6x6 Paper Pad that has four different green patterns. Score! Check out my video link below for the measurements. The banner with heart polka dots paper was die cut using a die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I also used a flag die from the set for the sentiment on white card stock.

I wanted the pup to pop a bit more on the card so I die cut an oval using a die from the Oval Frames Die Set and die cut a vellum oval. It helps to bring the pup forward in the card so he doesn't get lost in all the green patterns.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using this awesome sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Inky Paws Challenge #217 ~ Lucky Green Theme Challenge Reminder

Hello there crafty friend!
There's still time to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #217 - Lucky Green Theme Challenge!! You have until this coming Friday, March 1st to get your entries in for this fun challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I was once again inspired by the shamrocks for my card!

I just had to ink up the adorable Lucky Dog Stamp Set. Isn't he just the cutest?! I also stamped a couple shamrocks, a heart, and a hat using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The awesome coordinating die... Lucky Dog Die Set... came in super handy to die cut all these images once I had them colored with my Copic markers.

I paired the pup up with the A Cat's Life 6x6 Paper Pad. I really like the greens in these papers and thought they were perfect for a St. Patrick's Day card. I die cut the bottom layer using the largest die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I die cut four hearts using the pretty scalloped hearts from the Heart Frames Die Set. I adhered them on the background layer to form a four-leaf clover.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the pup, shamrock and heart:

Pup: C00, C1, N0, N1, N3, N5
Hat: N0, N1, N3, N5, YG21, YG11, YG23, Y06, Y28
Shamrocks: YG21, YG11, YG23
Heart: R20, R14, R46

I stamped the sentiment from the Lucky Dog Stamp Set onto white card stock that I had die cut using the fishtail banner from the Frames & Flags Die Set using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I added the cute little heart to the open space on the banner I cut. I like the little pop of red. It adds interest to the card. To finish off the card I adhered the shamrocks and popped up the pup using foam tape.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project with a Lucky Green theme. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Inky Paws Challenge #217 ~ Lucky Green Theme Challenge

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new Inky Paws Challenge... a super fun Lucky Green Theme Challenge! Such a fun challenge! I sure hope that you'll join in the fun and play along with us using your Newton's Nook Designs products! You have until Friday, March 1st to get your entries in for the #217 Lucky Green Theme Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I adore making St. Patrick's Day cards so I was most drawn to the shamrocks. The perfect excuse to ink up my new stamps, too!!

I stamped the sweet kitty from the Newton's Lucky Clover Stamp Set along with his cute hat and bunch of clovers using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored up all the kitty, hat and shamrocks with my Copic markers and then die cut them using the coordinating dies from the Newton's Lucky Clover Die Set.

I knew I wanted to make a simple almost CAS {Clean and Simple} design. So I went looking through my stencils and came across the awesome Bokeh Stencil Set. I thought it would make for a fun and simple background for my card. I blended Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks over the two stencils in the set being sure to leave white space around the edges.

I die cut the bokeh background using the large postage stamp die from the Framework Die Set. Stamped the sentiment using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. Adhered the postage stamp panel to a white A2 top fold card base. And then adhered the clovers and kitty with his little hat.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Kitty: R00, R20, W00, W1, W2, W3
Hat: N1, N3, N5, YG21, YG11, YG23, Y06, Y28
Clovers: YG21, YG11, YG23

Luck To Go + No Bunny Compares ~ March Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing more inspiration for the Unity March Sketch Challenge that I'm hosting in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group. And I have two cards to share!! A fun St. Patrick's Day card and a sweet Easter card.

I've altered the measurements of the sketch for both of these cards so the images would work.

First up is the St. Paddy's Day card. I found some fun papers in my stash called Pot o' Gold from Doodlebug Designs. The plaid background is 4 x 5-1/4". Now the Luck to Go stamp is a bit taller and skinnier than the sketch calls for so my main panel measures 2-1/4 x 3-1/2" and the shamrock mat measures 2-1/2 x 4".

I centered the stamp on my main panel and stamped it with Black Amalgam ink. And then I colored it up with the following Copic markers ~ YG11, YG23, G14, G05, C00, C1, C3.

I adhered all my layers together also adhering them to a white A2 top fold card base. Stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock with the same black ink. Trimmed it up and adhered it directly to the card with liquid glue.

Next up is a sweet Easter card using the adorable No Bunny Compares. I found another fun pack of papers in my stash with an Easter theme called Hoppy Easter from Doodlebug Designs. I cut my pink background paper to 4 x 5-1/4". The sweet girl and her bunny are a tad bigger than the sketch so for this one the main panel measures 3-1/4 x 3-1/4". The Easter egg paper mat measures 3-1/2 x 3-3/4".

I centered the sweet image on my main panel and stamped it with the same black ink. And then I colored up this one with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair ~ E21, E23, E25, E29
Shirt / Bow RV000, RV10, RV13
Bunny ~ C00, C1, C3, RV000, RV10, RV13

The sentiment for this one is from the Pretty Easter Find itty bitty. It's trimmed up and popped up on the card with some thin foam tape.

Here's another look at the sketch! Please know that the sketch is meant to inspire and not require. Feel free to alter it to work for your creation just as I did for mine today. Most importantly have some inky fun! I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to share your cards in the Unity Show & Tell group and also add them to the sketch challenge album in the group to be entered for a prize!! I'll see you back here next Thursday with more inspiration for this month's sketch challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Happy St. Paddy's Day ~ Lots O' Luck ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
Just a quick post today to wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day and share a handful of the St. Paddy's Day cards that I made to send to a few friends. I used the adorable Lots O'Luck collection from Doodlebug Design for my cards. Such an adorable collection!!

I had so much fun making these cards!! The fun ephemera pieces and cardstock stickers really made these cards come together quickly too!

I used very similar designs for each of the cards and just embellished them differently to make each one unique for the recipient.

The card fronts for each of the cards is Cucumber Crush from Stampin' Up that are adhered to a white A2 top-fold card base.

The cute shamrock paper is mat with Limeade Ice card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I die cut the large white circles from Stampers Select White card stock by Papertrey Ink and blended a little Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink in the center of the circles. Both the circle die and the scallop circle die are from Spellbinders.

I flipped the design for this one when I realized the skinnier strip of shamrock paper is turned the other way. It worked out well because I also wanted to use this large Chit Chat piece of ephemera for one of the cards. Isn't that pup just the cutest?! I also cut the circle die cut piece for this one so it didn't cover up the sentiment.

Here's another look at the cards all together. Too cute!

I hope you've enjoyed these cute cards! I'll be back on Friday with my weekly Christmas card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Scrapping for Less ~ Heffy Doodle ~ Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Hello! I have a fun card for St. Paddy's Day! Do you make cards for St. Patrick's Day? I know it's not a huge holiday so not too many people do... but I do! I've always found St. Patrick's Day to be a fun day. And really, any excuse to make and send a card is great in my book!

Isn't this leprechaun from Heffy Doodle's Lucky Friends stamp set just the cutest?! I stamped him, the coins, and the cauldron using Memento tuxedo black ink and then colored them using copic markers {Skin - E50, E51; Beard - YR15, YR68; Shoes/Cauldron - N0, N3, N7, N10; Clothes - YG01, YG05, YG17; Coins - Y06, Y28}. I fussy cut those pieces and set them aside.

I blended some Tumbled Glass distress ink on the center of a white card base. I die cut a piece of patterned paper and cut down another piece of patterned paper and set them aside. I created the rainbow by die cutting leftover papers from past card kits using the Paper Smooches Rainbow die from the February card kit. I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut a banner and then set that aside. All that was left was to adhere all the pieces on the card front. This was such a fun card to make! I hope that you like it and that your St. Paddy's Day is filled with fun... and not too much mischief!

Thanks for stopping by!

See ya next time.

Savvy 7 ~ March Blog Hop ~ Luck!

It's time for another blog hop with the Savvy 7 & Friends!! The theme this month is... Luck! I've always enjoyed the fun of St. Patrick's Day... parades, leprechauns, rainbows, shamrocks, etc. I decided to go with a St. Paddy's Day card for this hop.

I was at a loss, though, on what stamp set to use for this card. I knew for sure that I wanted to use my Celtic Knot embossing folder so I went ahead and embossed just a plain white piece of card stock.

Then I remembered I had this sweet little owl! Isn't he the cutest?! I just love his hat... and that bow tie! I stamped him on a piece of white card stock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and then I colored him using a bunch of Copic markers that I'll list in the details at the end of my post. Once I finished coloring him, I decided he needed something... I had just received an order with a fun new die called Love Showers Layers and it has this cute little stitched umbrella!! Isn't that just perfect! I cut out two umbrellas - one in white and the other in black. I colored the top of the umbrella with the same Copic markers I used on the hat and the bow tie and then cut off the tip and the handle. I then adhered the colored umbrella over the black die cut umbrella and adhered it to the owl. Doesn't it just add that little something?! I love it!

I layered all the white pieces on different green card stocks... the owl and sentiment are on Cucumber Crush mats and the Celtic Knot piece is on a Garden Green mat. I was surprised to discover that I don't have many rich green shades in my collection of ribbons, but I did find this New Leaf Satin ribbon that I recently bought from Papertrey Ink and I think it worked just fine! I layered all the pieces with some liquid glue and then layered the entire panel on a white card base.

Here's a close up picture of the little owl! I love him!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Owl, I Do Say (Unity)
Card Stock: white, True Black (PTI), Garden Green, Cucumber Crush (SU!)
Copics: E0000, 31, 33, 34, 37, 41, 42; C00, 3, 5, 7; G03, 09, 17; Y13, 17; YR15, 24
Adhesives: Tombow Mono Multi (SSS)
Tools: Celtic Knots embossing folder (Darice)
Miscellaneous: New Leaf Satin Solid ribbon (PTI)

Thanks for stopping by!

See ya next time.
