Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun sketch challenge! Sketches make me so happy! They take the guess work out of the card design. I had fun with this one. I hope you do, too! You have until Friday, August 18th to get your entries in for the #204 Sketch Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!
I made a fun mini slimline Christmas card to share with you today!
I think it turned out pretty cute, too!
I just adore the cute The Nutcracker Squeak Stamp Set. I've had it in my stash for some time now but I hadn't inked it up. This darling set is retiring, sadly, but it's marked down way low... go check it out! It's a steal really! I was fortunate enough to also get the coordinating dies but it looks like those are officially retired and no longer available.
I paired up this super cute mice stamp set with the Christmas Time 6x6 Paper Pad. The nutcrackers in the papers were perfect with the little mice soldiers and that darling girl mouse with her toy soldier. Just too sweet! The nutcracker pattern paper didn't quite line up for me to see their faces on the top and bottom so I had to cut them separately. I adhered all the pattern papers to a 6 x 3-1/2" piece of thin white card stock. I then was able to adhere two 1/8" black strips on the top and bottom of the blue paper.
I die cut the stitched circles from white card stock using the circle die from the Frames Squared Die Set. I found that it was just the right size to fit 3 of these circles across the mini slimline card. The soldier mice were a little too big so I die cut them using the same circle die. The little girl mouse wasn't much bigger than the circle I die cut so I just left her whole. The sentiment and mice were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color up the mice:
All the Mice ~ W00, W1, W3, N0, N1, N3, R00, R20
Blue Soldier Outfit ~ Y11, Y15, Y28, BG10, B91, B95, B97, BG34, BG07, N0, N1, N3, N5
Girl Mouse Outfit ~ Y11, Y15, Y28, R20, R17, R27
Toy Soldier ~ E000, E00, E11, Y11, Y15, Y28, YG11, G24, N0, N1, N3
Green Soldier Outfit ~ Y11, Y15, Y28, YG11, G14, G24, G46
