Scrapping for Less ~ Pink & Main ~ Pretty Jars

Hello crafty peeps!
Today, I'm sharing a lovely card using the Pretty Jars stamp and die bundle set by Pink & Main. Oh my goodness... I absolutely love this bundle!! The stamps are so beautiful and the dies make cutting out this intricate floral stamp super easy peasy!!

I still had the beautiful Echo Park Spring Fling papers on my desk so I decided to use them again for this card. I cut strips of a few different papers to create the pattern underneath the focal image. The background greenish/blue paper is also from the paper pad.

I stamped the flowers twice because I wanted to fussy cut the flowers to pop them up on the focal image for a bit more dimension. Working with colors that coordinated with the papers, I colored both sets of the flowers. I used the following Copic markers ~ RV00, RV21, Y13, Y35, YG11, YG23.
I then die cut the flowers and fussy cut the one set... cutting it on the black line. I colored the outer edge of the fussy cut flowers with a Memento tuxedo black marker to clean up the edges and then I popped them up on the other flowers.

I then adhered the flowers to a white die cut stitched oval and popped the oval piece up on the card. I knew I wanted to use the 'sweet friend' sentiment from the set but I wanted to add a little somethin' somethin' so I pulled out the 'hello' die from Pink & Main that was included in a past card kit and die cut three times out of white card stock. I colored one of the die cut hellos with Copic markers in an ombre style and then adhered all the die cut layers. I stamped the 'sweet friends' sentiment on white card stock and then die cut it with a banner die and layered it on a strip of pink paper from the Spring Fling paper pad that I also die cut with the same banner die.

In retrospect, I kinda wish I had stamped the 'sweet friend' sentiment in a dark pink... but at the time, I was packing my studio and my supplies were limited. I am still very happy with how this card turned out! The design is definitely one that would work to use up some of those scraps of patterned paper that we all have laying around!!

You can find the Pretty Jars stamp & die bundle in the shop!

Thank you friends for checking out my blog post!
See ya next time.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 145 ~ Ombre ~ You Are Sweet Like Honey!

Hello! Today, I'm sharing a card that I made for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #145 ~ Ombre! How could I not play along... an ombre background is such a fun technique! And really, it's been a long time since I've played along with a challenge at Stamp Ink Paper.

I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot distress oxide inks on a piece of white card stock from Papertrey Ink. Once I had the background blended like I wanted I splattered some water on it and then splattered yellow and black acrylic paints, as well. I stamped the honeycomb stamp from Unity Stamp Company's April 2018 Kit of the Month called Eyes of the Beholder using Black Soot distress oxide ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I the stamped the bee using the same ink and embossing powder on a scrap piece of card stock. I blended some Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey distress oxide inks over the bee and then die cut it out. I ran the ombre background piece and a piece of True Black card stock through the big shot with dies from My Favorite Things' Blueprints 20 Die-namics. I adhered the ombre piece to the black card stock and then splattered some gold silk.

I then adhered the panel to a white card base and set it aside. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and cut out each word. I sponged a bit of Black Soot distress ink around each word. I popped up the die cut bee and then adhered the words along the left side of the card.

Since I was having so much fun making the first card, I decided to make another one - this time with the ombre going from top to bottom. All of the other steps for this card were the very same.

I had so much fun making this card! If you want to play along with the challenge, head

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Who's ready for another Papertrey Blog Hop?!?! Me. Me!

Here's the inspiration for this month's challenge...

Isn't it lovely!! I had so many ideas but was really limited with the few supplies that I have unpacked from our move. I used the Bloom & Grow kit that I had opened but really I had only used the stamps. I didn't even realize there were dies in the kit, for shame! I die cut the flower pot in white card stock. I used a blending tool to give an ombre look to the pot and also the card front. I stamped a few hearts as a background and adhered all the pieces. I think it turned out cute and I know just who I'm going to send it to. I hope it brings a smile to her face. :)

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Bloom & Grow kit (PTI)
Card Stock: White (PTI)
Inks: Berry Sorbet, Spring Rain (PTI), VersaMark (SU!)

If you have a minute, please leave a comment. I'd love to hear what you thought of my creation.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

See ya next time.
