Winnie the Pooh: Social Media Hop

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today is a fun day!! I just adore Winnie the Pooh and thought it would be fun to have a hop and here we are... I am super excited to see all the creations shared today from all the Cardmakers!!

Be on the lookout for this graphic as you hop along. We have Cardmakers sharing their creations from all forms of social media... blogs, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. If you get lost along the way you can head back over here, I have the full list down below. Alrighty... let's get to it!

My first card features the adorable new release - Winnie the Pooh: Weeds Are Flowers from Unity Stamp Co! How sweet is Eeyore?! I just love him! I die cut him at a bit of an angle with the largest die from the X Stitched Square dies from Gina Marie Designs.

I stamped Eeyore with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K Designs and colored him up with the following Copic Markers:

Eeyore ~ B0000, B91, B95, B97
Flower ~ R0000, RV21, YG11, YG23
Ground ~YG11, YG23, YG17
Sky ~ B0000

I paired up Eeyore with the French Kiss paper pad from Doodlebug Design. I thought the cute flowers and blues in the papers coordinated well with the colored focal image. I adhered my paper layers to a white A2 top fold card base and wrapped the front of the card base with some white organdy ribbon tying a pretty bow.

I recently started sharing sketches in my Facebook group called Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration. Sketch 2 was the perfect inspiration for my sweet Eeyore card.

For my second card I used the sweetest new Christmas stamp called Winnie the Pooh: Merriest Time from Unity by the amazing Angie Blom. Such a darling stamp for the holidays! I paired him up with papers from the Meowy Christmas paper pad from Newton's Nook Designs.

I stamped Pooh bear with Black Amalgam ink and colored him up with the following Copic Markers:

Winnie the Pooh ~ Y11, Y15
Santa Hat ~ C00, C2, R000, R20, R14
Blue Gift ~ R000, R20, R14, BG000, BG01
Purple Gift ~ V20, V22, V25, Y06, Y15
Honey Pots ~ Y06, Y15, BG000, BG01, R000, R20, R14
Tree ~ YG11, G24, G46, E21, E23, E27
Star / Ornaments ~ Y06, Y15, R000, R20, R14, BG000, BG01

I trimmed the paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and then used the largest die from the Peekaboo Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs to die cut the center of the paper leaving a window for my focal piece. I adhered all the layers together and then adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base. I decided this cute card didn't need any extra ribbons or enamel dots. It's plenty cute just how it is!

My last card features the adorable Ungloomy Christmas digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard. Such an adorably sweet digital stamp illustrated by my sweet friend, Jeanie Hays! I resized the Digi in a Word Document and printed him off.

I paired him up with the beautiful Winter Blues paper pack from Ink N' Splatter. I love how it looks like Eeyore's decorating the tree while snow is falling all around him. So fun!

I colored up the image with the following Copic Markers:

Eeyore ~ B00, B91, B95, B97
Christmas Tree ~ YG11, G24, G46, E55, E57
Christmas Star / Lights ~ Y06, Y15, Y35, R20, R14, G000, G14, B000, B00
Ground ~ C00, C2

I die cut a piece of white card stock with the Scalloped Stitched Mini Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs and then trimmed the snowflake papers to fit just inside the stitches. I fussy cut around Eeyore and the tree leaving some of the snow for the ground. I adhered Eeyore to the snowy paper and then I popped up the scalloped stitched panel with lots of foam tape adhering it to a 6-1/2 x 7" mini slimline card base, scored at 3-1/2". I trimmed the sentiment that I had printed along with the image and adhered it to the card using liquid glue and a small piece of foam tape for the far right side so that the sentiment would lay flat. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Well, that's it for me! I tried to keep this short and sweet but still informative. I sure hope that you've enjoyed the cards I shared today and that you are inspired to ink up, or print off, those wonderful Winnie the Pooh stamps!! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 24 ~ Nutty or Nice? ~ Lawn Fawn

 Hello there crafty friend!
I am back with my weekly Christmas card and this time I was excited to play with a sweet stamp set that I got during the 2018 STAMPtember celebration!! I just love STAMPtember and the Lawn Fawn stamp sets are a must have each year!! I can't believe that I got this cute stamp set 4 years ago and I just now inked it up... so glad that I've been inking up my neglected stamps this year!

These cuties are from the adorable Nutty or Nice? STAMPtember stamp set from Lawn Fawn for Simon Says Stamp. I paired them up with the Perfectly Plaid Christmas paper pack by Lawn Fawn... one of my absolute favorite Christmas papers!! So sad that they aren't available anymore.

I stamped the snowman and squirrels on scraps of white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I colored them up with the following Copic markers:

Snowman ~ C00, C2
Green Scarves ~ G00, YG41, G16
Snowman Hat ~ N1, N3, N5, N7, R000, R20, R14, R27
Squirrels ~ W00, W1, W3
Santa Hat ~ R20, R14, R27, C00, C2
Carrot Nose ~ YR15, YR68

I used the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 24 from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group for the design of my card. I love all the fun layers in this sketch! It's perfect for all those pretty Christmas papers! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, stop by the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog and check out the beautiful inspiration from the design team!

I die cut a piece of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink with the X Stitched Square dies from Gina Marie Designs. I then found a scrap piece of white card stock and die cut it with the Stitched Hillside Borders die from Lawn Fawn to create my little hill. I die cut that same piece with the X Stitched Square die and adhered it to the square. I stamped the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from the Nutty or Nice? stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut it with the Everyday Sentiment Banners dies from Lawn Fawn. I adhered all my layers together and then adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base.

I'm entering my Christmas card into the awesome Lawn Fawnatics Christmas in July Challenge #128. So excited to find this fun challenge the other day! There's a couple more days to play along if you want to check it out! Well, that's it for me this time! I'll be back next week with my weekly Christmas card using this month's fun {BYSHC} sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

So Kind Floral Card ~ Among the Wildflowers ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Unity's First Annual Mega Warehouse Sale is today!! The fun starts a little later today but I couldn't wait to share the card I made using the gorgeous floral background called Among the Wildflowers!! Isn't it just stunning!! It was so relaxing just to sit and color. So wonderful after a stressful day.

I didn't want to cover up the beautiful background or really cut it up so I trimmed it just slightly on all four sides to fit inside the black die cut card stock. I used the Slashed Stitched Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs to die cut the black card stock and adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. The background was trimmed to 5-1/16 x 3-7/8".

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers that I used to color up this card:
Blue Greens ~ BG10, BG72, BG75
Yellows ~ Y11, Y15, Y35
Pinks ~ R12, R22
Reds ~ R00, R20, R14
Oranges ~ YR21, YR15, YR68
Greens ~ YG11, YG23, YG17
Purples ~ V000, V20, V22, V25
Blues ~ B000, B00

The sweet sentiment is from the So Kind, So Caring, So You {July 2022 Sentiment Kit}. Love the sentiments in this new kit!! Perfect for so many occasions! I sure love how this card turned out! I hope you like it, too! Be sure to check out the amazing sale going on over at Unity!!

See ya next time.

Membership Monday ~ July 2022 BOM Hibiscus ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today for Membership Monday I'm sharing a pretty sympathy card using the beautiful new Background of the Month stamp from Unity called Hibiscus. I have found myself in need of a few sympathy cards and my stash was getting low so I thought this background would be perfect for a quick card.

I didn't want to use bright colors since it's a sympathy card so I went with Saltwater Taffy and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks for a softer tone. I ink smooshed my background and then stamped the pretty Hibiscus background stamp with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.

I trimmed the background and adhered it to a die cut piece of white card stock that I had die cut with the largest die from the Big & Little Chain Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. I then adhered the panel to a A2 top fold card base cut from Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink.

The sentiment is from the new So Kind, So Caring, So You {July 2022 Sentiment Kit}. I simply stamped it with the Jet Black Archival ink and fussy cut around the black edges. I kept the layers minimal on this card for easy mailing and adhered the sentiment directly to the card.

Such a beautiful new background stamp! I can imagine ink smooshing backgrounds for this beauty in so many different colors! You can check out the Background of the Month membership over at Unity Stamp Co. I'll be back next Monday with a card using the gorgeous new July 2022 Uniquely Unity membership!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 24 ~ September 2021 KOM Looking Forward ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch 24 from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers and this week I was excited to finally color up the gorgeous poinsettia from the September 2022 Kit of the Month called Looking Forward from Unity!! Love this beautiful stamp!!

I paired up this gorgeous poinsettia with the beautiful Simple Vintage Country Christmas 6 x 8" paper pad from Simple Stories. I cut my green polka dot papers to cover the entire card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The red sentiment paper was cut just as the sketch calls for ~ 1-3/4 x 5-1/2" and I adhered it to the green polka dot paper. I cut the green and red plaid paper slightly larger than the sketch calls for ~ 1-3/4 x 3-7/8". Making sure that some of the pretty plaid showed around the poinsettia.

I stamped the beautiful poinsettia with Gina K. Design Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I colored up the poinsettia with the following Copic markers:

Poinsettia Center ~ Y11, Y15, Y28
Reds ~ R20, R14, R27
Greens ~ YG11, G24, G46
Berries ~ C00, C3

I fussy cut the poinsettia with my EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors leaving a skinny white border around the image. I adhered the poinsettia directly to the card. I was going to use the beautiful Christmas Wishes sentiment from the KOM but it was a little too big and would have covered up that pretty plaid paper... SO I decided to go with a quick and easy Holiday Talk metallic sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz / Idea-ology.

Here's a look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 24 for the month of July!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, stop by the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog and check out the beautiful inspiration from the design team! I'll be back next week with my weekly Christmas card using this fun sketch!

~ Friends of Unity July 2022 Blog Hop ~

  Hello there crafty friend!
It's one of my favorite times of the month... time for the Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! Our cue this month is a really fun one that I think all of us have been excited to play with! I can't wait to see all the creations shared by our friends today! So let's get to the cue...

... Stencils!! Yes!! There are SO many possibilities when you create cards with stencils! It can actually be overwhelming if you think about it too hard. LOL! So I decided not to think and just play and see what happens.

My first card features the awesome recently released and it's Back in Stock... De Fleur Daisy {stamp & stencil}... and I'll be super honest here. I struggled with this combo. You may remember when this released I shared a DIY pattern paper that I made using the stencil and then I made 5 cards using the paper. Well, that's because everything I made with the combo just didn't turn out right. Of course, us cardmakers are notorious for being overly critical of our creations so they may not have been that bad, but I still threw them away!

I didn't give up though!! I decided I'd give them another go and stamped the florals with Gina K. Design Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I then blended Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Pine Needles Distress Oxide inks over the awesome stencils. I very nearly tossed this one too. LOL! If you look closely on the left side of the floral... I messed up those two teardrop flowers. It screams at me every time I look at it, but I know that it's not that bad. So I kept it... a good lesson to keep on keeping on with our creations!

My only other complaint is that I should have left my stamp in my Stamp Platform so that I could re-stamp the florals again and make the black lines nicer. Some of the oxides went over the lines and lightened them... definitely something to remember for next time! I trimmed up the panel to 4-3/4 x 3-1/2". I die cut a card front of True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink with the largest die from the Loopy Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. It's a lovely layer of texture... a shame it doesn't show in the pictures that well. I adhered the daisy panel to the die cut with my go-to liquid glue ~ Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue. I added a few black rhinestones from the Rainbow Bling rhinestones from Gina Marie Designs and a cute sentiment sticker from the Small Talk sentiment stickers from Tim Holtz / Idea-ology. I adhered the Loopy Rectangle panel to a True Black card front measuring 5-1/2 x 4-1/4" and then adhered my panel to a white A2 side fold card base measuring 11 x 4-1/4"; scored at 5-1/2".

For my second card, I had a fun idea for a different kind of background. I wanted to make a scene card using a stencil that wasn't really meant for a scene card. I chose the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous Mixed Media Stamps/Stencil combo {THMM103} from my stash and thought it would be super fun to pair it up with the adorable hot air balloon in the Sending Up Something Beautiful stamp kit from Unity. I think this turned out pretty cute BUT I may try another version where I lightly ink blend over the panel again after blending over the stencil so there's less white and it's more of a galaxy sky. And then add some white splatter for stars... I don't know. I do still love how this turned out!

I ink blended down my white card stock panel over the stencil with Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina, and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide inks because I had wanted to do a sunrise kind of background BUT the colors weren't right so I replaced the stencil and ink blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks over the Kitsch Flamingo on the flourishes near the top. I love the sunset vibe {or galaxy vibe} the colors give to the background!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Clouds ~ BG0000, BG000, BG10, RV10, RV21
Hot Air Balloon ~  Y11, Y06, Y15, BG10, BG11, BG15, RV10, RV21, E41, E43, E44

I trimmed the background panel to 4 x 5-1/2". I stamped the sentiment on white card stock with Black Amalgam ink. I trimmed it up and mat it on True Black card stock. I adhered it to the trimmed background panel and trimmed off the excess card stock from the sentiment. I then adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. I fussy cut my copic colored images and cleaned up the edges by coloring them with my Memento Tuxedo black marker. I adhered the one cloud to the back of the hot air balloon and then popped up all the pieces on the card with foam tape. What do you think? I like it... I'm pretty sure I need to try ink blending over the white a bit though so it has more of a galaxy background vibe. We'll see if I can find some time for that though...

And my last card using the adorable new release from Unity called Friends Furever just may be my fave for this month!! I had some more fun... this time I layered two stencils together and ink blended through them both to get my sunset background. I layered the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Mini Stencil Set 43 stencil over the Oval Extraordinaire stencil from My Favorite Things and ink blended with Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks over top. I then removed the Tim Holtz stencil and lightly blended a tiny bit more yellow without adding more ink to my brush. This is where I got the idea to blend over the background on my second card. I really think it would change the whole vibe of the card.

Since I was having fun ink blending, I decided to ink blend some 'grass' for the cute pups... I used the negative oval stencil to protect my ink blended 'sunset' and carefully blended some Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink... BUT if I was to do this over again I would probably just use some copics to color a little grass underneath them. I think it would have been a cleaner way to ground the images and I could have added a few blades of grass.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for the pups:

Big Dog ~ W00, W1, W3, W5
Handkerchief ~ R20, R14, R27
Little Dog ~ N0, N1, N3
Collar ~ B0000, B00, B02

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize package and that lucky winner is...

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 24 ~ Sweet Christmas Wishes ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new Sketch Challenge over at Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers and I have a sweet Christmas card to share using an adorable stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called Sweet Christmas Wishes. I was super excited to attend a Unity Lovers gathering last Friday and I took a few images to color up while I was there. I thought the adorable penguin in this Itty Bitty stamp set would be perfect for this month's sketch... and he took no time to color up!!

I paired up this cute stamp with the A Perfect Winter paper pad from Echo Park Paper Co. These papers are one of my absolute favorites!! I love the mix of colors and the designs so much! I used a few different ones for my background that I think compliments the focal image.

I stamped the cute Sweet Christmas Wishes penguin and sentiment with Gina K. Design Black Amalgam ink and colored up the penguin with the following Copic Markers:

Penguin ~ C00, C2, YR15, YR68
Hat ~ C00, C2, R20, R14, R27
Candy Cane ~ C00, C2, R20, R14, R27
Snowflakes ~ B000, B02

I trimmed up my pattern papers for my background exactly as the sketch calls for... the wood grain paper is 1-3/4 x 5-1/2" and the snowflakes are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I adhered the wood grain paper onto the snowflake paper. Now if you'd prefer not to cover up any of your paper and waste it really... you can cut your second paper (the one that would be on the right side) at 2-1/2 x 5-1/2". Just make sure that your cuts are straight and adhere them both to your card base. I did make my candy cane striped paper a bit bigger than the sketch calls for since my focal image was also larger. My focal image was die cut with a 2-7/8" stitched square die. My candy cane striped paper measures 2 x 4-1/4". And then my last adjustment was my sentiment which was bigger so I didn't want to cover up a lot of the pattern paper. I just trimmed it down and moved it closer to the middle.

Here's a look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 24 for the month of July!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the  {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back next week with my weekly Christmas card using this fun new sketch!
