{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 51 ~ Snowman Dies ~ Jaded Blossom

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a little inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 51 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring a wonderful die set from our amazing sponsor, Jaded Blossom, called Snowman Dies

I love the fabulous selection of dies over at Jaded Blossom! I'm a huge fan of the gnome dies but I don't have any Christmas ones YET, but I recently added the adorable Snowman Dies to my collection and I couldn't wait to try them out. Aren't they just the cutest?! I love them!

I paired up the snowmen with some pretty papers from Waffle Flower called Season's Greetings. Once I chose my papers, I was able to pick out card stock that coordinated with the colors in the papers. For the snowmen and white on the beanie I used Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. Here's a quick list of the other card stock I used for die cutting the snowmen:

Eyes / Buttons / Top Hat: True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink
Noses: Orange Zest card stock from Papertrey Ink
Arms: Dark Chocolate card stock from Papertrey Ink
Top Hat Band / Blue Scarf / Blue Beanie: Midnight Muse card stock from Stampin' Up
Berry / Red Scarf: Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink
Holly: New Leaf card stock from Papertrey Ink

The sentiment from the Christmas Village: Post Office stamp set from Jaded Blossom is heat embossed on Pure Poppy card stock with Sugar Cube White Pigment Ink from Taylored Expressions, Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe and melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies from Unity.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 51 for the month of November. Loving this fun sketch! I am really enjoying all of the awesome entries, too! I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch. Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another card featuring goodies from the awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity!!! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! Today I'm sharing another pet sympathy card.

Not one bit of coloring for this card! Just some fun ink blending with my oxide inks. I used Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks for the rainbow along with the fabulous Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I absolutely love how the rows of the rainbow alternate on the stencil... so smart for blending over!!

I die cut the rainbow panel with the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. I blended a little bit of Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink around the clouds on the Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I fussy cut them leaving a little bit of a white border around the edges. I stamped the cute pup silhouette from the Somewhere Over the Rainbow stamps with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut him as well. The clouds and pup are adhered together and then popped up with foam tape.

You can check out my process video for this card here... Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft | Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle | Unity Stamp Co.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white pigment ink, white embossing powder and melted with a heat tool. Head over to Unity and check out all the awesome releases! It's a HUGE release friends! And it's the BIGGEST SALE of the year!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I coordinated my colors with the colors in the lovely Hello Darling paper pad from The Paper Studio that I got at Hobby Lobby years ago. I've always loved these papers! The colors are so pretty!

The couch/table panel is popped up on the card using foam tape, otherwise, all the paper layers are adhered directly to a white A2 top fold card base turned on the side for a landscape card.

You can check out my process video here... Copic Color with Me | November 2024 KOM Every Step of the Way | Unity Stamp Co. I hope you'll grab your alcohol markers and join me in coloring up this fun stamp. Please know that this video is a little longer. In an effort to better show how I color, I didn't speed up the video as much as I do for a regular process video. I'd love to hear constructive feedback on this video, if you have a moment... leave me a comment either here or on my YouTube channel.

Here's a quick look at this month's Kit of the Month membership! Isn't it fabulous!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 27 ~ Frosty & Feisty Pissy Kitty ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit more inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 27 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I couldn't resist inking up the new Frosty & Feisty Pissy Kitty from Unity... HILARIOUS!! I love it!

I used up a few more strips of the pattern paper I'm trying to finish off. These papers are from a company that's no longer in business, unfortunately. I love them! I'm hoping to use up the scraps soon and share the cards with you all. Maybe next week..? We'll have to see.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 27. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I feel my cards are a good example of that, as I'm always making adjustments... like this time I added a circle element for the kitty and a second sentiment.

I die cut Frosty & Feisty Pissy Kitty with a circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. And adhered it to the card. My paper layers are adhered to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" panel of Smoky Slate card stock from Stampin' Up.

The kitty is colored with Copic markers. I added the snow back to the image with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen. The hilarious sentiments were trimmed and popped up on the card with foam tape. This card just makes me giggle so much!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Kitty: N0, N2, N4
Nose: R00, R20
Eyes: YG21, YG25
Hat: C00, C2, V000, V12, V15

I'm having so much fun with this sketch! I hope you can find time to play along! There's still a couple weeks left in the challenge. I can't wait to see what you create.
Have an inkredible week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

I turned the sketch for my card today. Sometimes the design just calls for it!

The cooler weather has me really loving my coffee! I thought it would be fun to ink up the Heartfelt Coffee Stamp Set again! I love the mix of coffee cups! I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it up with Copic Markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Coffee Beans: E21, E25
Whipped Cream: C00, C2
Cups: Y11, Y15, Y38, V000, V12, V15, G0000, G12, G24, C00, C2, E30, E31, E33

I die cut the coffee heart using a die from the Heart Frames Die Set. I paired it up with pretty papers from the Coffee House Stories 6x6 Paper Pad.

The coffee cup banner was die cut using the banner die from the Basic Frames Die Set. The sentiment was heat embossed with Sugar Cube Pigment White Ink from Taylored Expressions, Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe, and melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool on Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. I adhered the sentiment to the heart and then popped them both up with foam tape. Otherwise, all of the other layers are adhered directly to a Kraft A2 top fold card base.

Paw Print Sympathy Card ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
The awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity Stamp Co. is here!!! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! Today I'm sharing a sweet pet sympathy card that was quick to make featuring the sweet Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil!

The paw prints are heat embossed with Wow! Clear Embossing Ink, a Catherine Pooler Designs Detail Blending Brush, Hero Arts Fine Clear Embossing Powder and melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. The sentiment from the Somewhere Over the Rainbow stamps was also heat embossed but with a combo of Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube Pigment Ink, Brutus Monroe Alabaster White Embossing Powder and the same heat tool. I also used the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool to prep the card stock before I heat embossed.

I blended Kitsch Flamingo and Peacock Feather Distress Inks over the embossed paw prints. And I did a bit of water spatters to cover up the messy embossed spots around a couple of the paws. I embossed the sentiment after blending the inks. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the sentiment... poor planning, I guess. LOL

You can check out my process video for this card here... Paw Print Sympathy Card | Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil | Unity Stamp Co.

I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. This was such a quick card to make! I love how it turned out. I hope you have an inktastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Brown Thursday IG Hop ~ Juniper Girl ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Have you seen the awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity Stamp Co.!?! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! I shared a lovely encouragement card yesterday featuring a new release. Today I'm sharing a cute holiday card for the Brown Thursday Instagram Hop that the Unity Design Team is having in celebration of Brown Thursday! Head over to IG and check it out... there's prizes!!

A super fun and cute holiday card featuring the adorable new Juniper Girl!! I love this beautiful new girl! I stamped her on a piece of Stampers Select white card stock from Papertrey Ink along with the sentiment. I colored Juniper Girl up with my Copic markers and fussy cut her leaving a white border.  I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies. I also die cut a mat from Pure Poppy card stock, also from Papertrey Ink.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E33, E35, E37

Ornaments: Y00, Y11, Y15, R20, R14, R27, G00, G12, G05

I paired up Juniper Girl with the gorgeous Watercolor Tidings {paper pack}. I die cut a piece of Pure Poppy card stock using the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. And then adhered the pretty papers. I fussy cut Juniper Girl leaving a white border and adhered her on the panel. The panel is adhered to a Kraft A2 top fold card base.

Inspiration for my card today comes from the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 27. When I'm stuck on a design it's so handy to just look through my stack of sketches to see what inspires me. I couldn't help but use the current sketch... it's so easy!

I wanted to add a 'Merry Christmas' sentiment so I die cut the Merry Christmas from the Greetings of the Season {die set} from Pure Poppy card stock three times. I adhered them all together for some wonderful dimension. I die cut the shadow from Vellum card stock, also from Papertrey Ink. I love how the vellum makes the sentiment pop but it doesn't take away from the image I colored. Well, that's it for me today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 27 ~ Roger Guy ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit more inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 27 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I found myself in need of a birthday card so I thought this easy sketch would be perfect!

I pulled out my scraps from the beautiful Pastel Party Parade {paper pack}. Knowing that I was making a masculine card, I really just wanted the sentiment pattern paper. I trimmed three panels to fit on the white A2 top fold card.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 27. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I feel my cards are a good example of that, as I'm always making adjustments... like this time I moved the sentiment.

I stamped the handsome Roger Guy with Black Amalgam ink and colored him up with my Copic markers. The t-shirt was looking a little plain so I added some texture with dots. I think it's fun!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up Roger Guy:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Watch: N0, N1, N4, N6
Shirt: G00, G02, G07, G09
Jeans: B91, B95, B97

I trimmed the sentiment from a scrap of the pattern paper. Mat it with True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink. And then I popped up the sentiment with foam tape for some fun dimension. All of my other layers are adhered directly to the card base. I'm having so much fun with this sketch! I hope you can find time to play along! Have an inktastic week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Paws Challenge #234 ~ Sketch Challenge {Week 1}

 Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun sketch challenge! I am always up for good sketch and this one is so fun! You have until Friday, November 29th to get your entries in for the #234 Sketch Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Another super fun sketch! I can't wait to see what you create with it!

I couldn't wait to ink up the adorable images in the Holiday Postage Sampler Stamp Set. It was so hard to choose just three though. I die cut the images using the coordinating Holiday Postage Sampler Die Set and then I colored up the cute images.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the stamps:
Santa: E000, E00, E11, C00, C2, R20, R14, R46
Stocking / Candy Cane: C00, C2, R20, R14, R46
Gift: YG11, G24, G46
Candles: C00, C2, Y11, Y15
Holly: YG11, G24, G46, R20, R14, R46

I die cut Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink using the Postage Stamp Layout Die. Using a small blending brush I blended a little bit of Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on the center of the postage shape. I paired up the cute stamps from the Holiday Postage Sampler Stamp Set with the beautiful papers in the Christmas Time 6x6 Paper Pad. The polka dot paper measures 5-1/2 x 4-1/4". The plaid layer measures 5-1/2 x 1-3/4". My layer of Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink measures 4-1/2 x 3-1/4".

Can you see the stenciled trees on the red? I used Candied Apple Distress Ink and blended over the Evergreens Stencil. The red layer just needed a little something and I like the interest the trees adds to the card stock. The sentiment from the Bells & Holly Stamp Set is heat embossed with Sugar Cube White Pigment ink from Taylored Expressions, Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe and it's melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using this awesome sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

~ Friends of Unity November 2024 Blog Hop ~

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for our Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! This month's cue is perfect for this time of year. With Thanksgiving on the horizon, I find myself reflecting on the year and I'm very grateful for many things and for many people. Particularly, the fabulous ladies that are on the Friends of Unity team. They are all amazingly talented and beautiful ladies and friends. And speaking of our fabulous friends, we have a new friend joining us.... please stop by Toni Tessler's blog and be sure to give her a great big welcome! I am so excited to have Toni join our team! Now, onto our cue this month...

This month's cue is Gratitude, as I eluded to above. Isn't this graphic just so lovely?! I love all the elements!

First up is a fun Fall card with an adorable bunny. I used the super cute Hoppy Fall stamps. Such a cute bunny! I love it!

Inspiration for my card came from the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 27. This is from the brand new sketch challenge that just started in my Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I think it's a fun one for those larger pieces of scrap pattern paper.

I used three scraps of pattern paper from the beautiful Enrich the Soul {paper pack}. They're just adhered directly to a Kraft A2 top fold card base.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the bunny:
Bunny: E000, E30, E31, E23, R00, R20
Hat / Sweater: C00, C1, YR21, YR15, YR16
Leaves: E31, E23, YG61, YG63, YR21, YR15

The fun sentiment is heat embossed on Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink with Sugar Cube Pigment Ink from Taylored Expressions and Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe. I trimmed it up and popped it up with foam tape.

Next up, I really wanted to use one of the house stamps from the gorgeous Warm Wishes for Your Home stamps! I adore this beautiful stamp! I thought it would be lovely for a Fall card.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color the house on Kraft card stock:
Roof: N2, N4, N6
House: E31, E53, E55, E57
Chimney: E53, E55, E57, N2, N4, N6
Shutters / Door: R20, R14, R27
Windows: YR21, C1
Wreath: YR21, YR15, YR16
Trees: YG61, YG63
Pots: BG70, BG72, BG75
Background: C00, C1, C3

I paired it up with a lovely pattern paper from the Thankful & Blessed Pumpkins {paper pack}. I love how the dark background makes the house pop! Both the house and the pattern papers are die cut using dies from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Die Set.

It's kind of hard to see but I added some copper thread behind the house. I heat embossed the sentiment with Wow Clear Embossing Ink and Penny Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe. The sentiment and house layer are adhered together and then popped up on the card with foam tape.

And for my last project this month, I made a tag. I received some beautiful tags in an order awhile ago. It was actually a cut apart sheet of tags. I can't remember when I got them but I've been wanting to use them. I cut one of the tags and tore off the top. I stamped a Kraft tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using the Rustic Foliage background stamp. I ink smooshed it with Mustard Seed Distress Ink and distressed the edges of the Kraft tag with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Ooops... just realized I forgot ribbons! Ugh... that's the second time this week! Oh well. I distressed the edges of the cut apart tag using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I stamped the beautiful pumpkin from Pumpkin Spice Please and colored it up with my Copic markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Pumpkin: YR21, YR15, YR27, E53, E55, E57
Coffee Cup: C00, C1, Y11, Y15, Y17, R14
Brown Leaf: E53, E55, E57
Orange Leaf: YR21, YR15, YR16, R14
Green Leaves: YR61, YR63

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Bountiful Fall stamps {sadly, it looks like this is retired} using Sugar Cube White Pigment Ink from Taylored Expressions with Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe and melted it with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. The sentiment is trimmed and popped up on the tag with foam tape. I finished off the tag with three gold pieces of confetti from the Hologram Gold Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize and the lucky winner is...
