Here's a quick look at the July 2020 FOTM Card Kit with a In the Tropics theme...

So much tropical goodness in one kit!!
The papers are so beautiful and I love all the wonderful stamps!

Collection One: Tropic Vibes
My first card using one of the beautiful ephemera pieces along with a fun mix of papers!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
Stampers Select White card stock (card base)

A closeup picture... the papers in the collection are my favorite!! The ephemera pieces are all super cute!! Love this flamingo!

Collection Two: Tropical Fruit
A simple card for this collection... this sketch is fabulous for those scraps we cardmakers always seem to end up with. How fabulous is that sentiment!! Ha! I love it!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
Scrapbook Adhesive Foam Squares
Stampers Select White card stock (card base)

Secret Phrase: Remember Your Sunscreen

I love the touch of twine on this one... it really finishes off the card nicely!

Collection Three: Watery Tropics
The papers in the third collection are a very close favorite to the first collection... lots of blues and greenish blues!! My favorite colors!! I wanted to use them all on this card! I settled for the three... lol! I had so much fun coloring this stamped image!! There are so many possibilities for this one!

Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Tombow Mono Multipurpose glue
Nuvo Smooth Precision glue pen
3M Foam tape

I used the following Copic markers on this card:

Collection Four: In the Tropics
And for the last collection I used the sketch that we will be using in our August 2020 Sketch Challenge in the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group. I did alter the sketch a tiny bit to work with this kit, but as always... the sketch challenge is to inspire, not require. And I wanted to share a creative way to make 6 x 6" papers work in a slimline card measuring 3-1/2 x 8-1/2". I just combined two different patterned papers from the collection!

Supplies used (not found in the kit):
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink
Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink
Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink
Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink
Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink
Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink
Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink
Spellbinders Standard Circles Small dies
Spellbinders Standard Circles Large dies
My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges die

Does it look like a sunset or a sunrise to you?! I'm not sure... I keep going back and forth on it.
I love how it turned out though!

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is Desiree

  6. Awesome cards! I really love the one with the banners, and your ocean scene is fabulous! I love the sunset card too! It could be either sunrise or sunset, but makes me think of sunset first!

  7. Great kit! The flamingo shading under the monstera leaf, so so sassy! The ocean colors are so soft and I think I like that so much more than the darker colors. My vote.. sunrise for sure the way they gradient to brighter. Thanks
