Hello there crafty friends!
Today I am sharing a pretty card using a fun digi image from the Petals for the Pittman's Set Two. Have you had a chance yet to check out these amazing and huge digi sets?! They are only available for a short time so be sure to get yours while you can!! And they are for an amazing cause... if you aren't familiar with the fundraiser going on please check out this link ---> Petals For The Pittman's.
I just adore this fun sketched flower from the Petals For The Pittman's Set Two...
I love the sketch feel to the design and the mixed media feel with the text, splatter, and torn paper elements in the image.
To start I colored the image pretty simply with the following Copic markers ~ BV00, BV13, BV17, Y000, Y15, Y17, YG11, G24, and B000. I wanted a simple design to showcase this sweet image but also wanted to stick with the mixed media feel so I die cut the image with a rounded corner rectangle die but then I decided to use another die to make it look like it was a page from a notebook. I then decided to tear the bottom portion of the paper and to blend a little Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges.
I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Travel Notes 6 x 8" paper pad to the bottom of the focal image and then set it aside. I grabbed another Simple Stories paper pad called Crafty Girl and found a cute background paper to use. I die cut it with a large rounded corner rectangle die and adhered it a True Black card base.
I applied some glue to the center of my card and looped around some metallic black thread making sure that the loops were large enough to stick out from behind my focal piece. I then popped up my focal piece and added a few enamel dots in white and black to finish it off.
That's it for me today! Please be sure to go check out the details for this digi set... not only is it for an amazing cause... helping another crafty friend and her husband, but it's really an amazing set of digi images for a great price!! Oh, and I almost forgot about the Linky Party... just create something with a floral theme and link up for your chance to win! But hurry... time is running out!!
Thanks so much for checking out my blog!
See ya next time.
Inky Hugs,
Crystal
