Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 40 ~ Peek-A-Bee ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing more inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 40 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. A cute little bee card!

I inked up the adorable Peek-A-Bee stamps and colored it with some Copic markers. I fussy cut the bee and set it aside.

Copic Markers used:
Bee: Y11, Y15, Y35, C3
Eyes / Clouds: C0, C2
Wings: B000
Grass: G000, G82

I paired up the sweet bee with the Cluck & Bloom {paper pack}. These papers aren't just for chicken cards! I thought I'd make a funky scene card with the papers and added a few clouds using the Everyday Clouds {Mini Dies & Stencil Set}.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 40. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I omitted the mats for the triangles this time.

I adhered the pattern papers directly to a Kraft card base. I adhered the bee to the edge of the green striped paper. And then I trimmed off the right edge of the sentiment and popped it, and the clouds, up on the card with foam tape. I hope you can find time to play along with the sketch challenge. Have an INK-riffic week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Inky Paws Challenge 241 ~ Sunny Days Theme Challenge {Week 4}

Hello there crafty friend!
There's just a few more days to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #241 - Sunny Days Theme Challenge! You have until this coming Friday, June 27th to get your entries in for the challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

This has been such a fun challenge! I hope you have a chance to play along with us if you haven't already! There's just a few days left to play!

I'm sharing a CAS card today featuring the awesome bus from the Beach Bound Stamp Set. It's die cut using the coordinating die from the Beach Bound Die Set. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Bus: C0, C2, R20, R14, R27
Windows: BG000, BG10
Tires: N0, N2, N4, N6, C0, C2
Headlight / Surf Board: Y11, Y15
Suitcases: BG000, BG10, BG15, E21, E25, C0

I blended a simple background using the edge of a piece of card stock for my ground. I used the residue ink from my brown blending brush to lightly blend my ground. And then I blended some clouds over the Clouds Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

This fun scene card just needed a sun to finish it off so I die cut a sun from a couple yellow card stocks using the sun die from the Sky Scene Builder Die Set. I adhered the sun to the card, popped up the bus with foam tape and then stamped the sentiment on the card. Love how quickly this one came together!

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the fun sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another card featuring goodies from the awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity!!! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! Today I'm sharing another pet sympathy card.

Not one bit of coloring for this card! Just some fun ink blending with my oxide inks. I used Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks for the rainbow along with the fabulous Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I absolutely love how the rows of the rainbow alternate on the stencil... so smart for blending over!!

I die cut the rainbow panel with the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. I blended a little bit of Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink around the clouds on the Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I fussy cut them leaving a little bit of a white border around the edges. I stamped the cute pup silhouette from the Somewhere Over the Rainbow stamps with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut him as well. The clouds and pup are adhered together and then popped up with foam tape.

You can check out my process video for this card here... Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft | Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle | Unity Stamp Co.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white pigment ink, white embossing powder and melted with a heat tool. Head over to Unity and check out all the awesome releases! It's a HUGE release friends! And it's the BIGGEST SALE of the year!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

We have a gorgeous mix of colors that are perfect for an Autumn card but they can also be good for other occasions. Our lovely colors are... Burnt Orange, Olive Green, Slate Gray, and Ivory!!

I'm sharing a sweet CAS birthday card featuring the adorable Newton's Birthday Balloons Stamp Set.

I started with a fun CAS background of Autumn colored clouds that I blended using Carved Pumpkin and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks over the awesome Clouds Stencil.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for the kitty and balloons:
Kitty: R00, R20, N0, N2, N4
Ivory Balloon: E40, E81, Colorless Blender
Olive Green Balloon: YG91, YG95, Colorless Blender
Burnt Orange Balloon: YR21, YR16, YR27
Polka Dot Present: E40, E81, white gel pen polka dots

Once the sweet kitty was colored, I die cut it using the coordinating Newton's Birthday Balloons Die Set. I popped the kitty up on the card using foam tape. I heat embossed the sentiment on a gray card stock using white pigment ink and white embossing powder for a bright white sentiment. Trimmed the sentiment with a fishtail end and popped it up on the card.

Inky Paws Challenge #199 ~ Rainbow Theme Challenge

  Hello there crafty friend!
It's time to get our paws inky with a super fun rainbow themed challenge! It's so fun to play with rainbow colors! You have until Friday, June 9th to get your entries in for the #199 Rainbow Theme Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I love love love rainbow colors!! It's a wonderful color combo to play with and I couldn't wait to get inky for this challenge!

This is a pretty simple card and it's a big one! It measures 10 x 7"; scored at 5" for an A7 card. I blended my clouds over the Clouds Stencil from Newton's Nook Designs onto a large piece of white card stock using Distress Oxide inks. I used Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I got a little heavy handy as I worked my way up the card but I love the dimension that it gives the clouds!

I die cut my large panel using the stitched scallop die from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. I was going to adhere my panel to a purple card front but decided to just go with the white background of the A7 card base.

I stamped the adorable kitty from the Newton's Umbrella Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it up with the following Copic markers:

Kitty ~ C00, C1, N0, N2, N4, N8, YR15, RV10, RV21, Colorless Blender
Umbrella ~ V000, V12, V15, C00, C1, C3, N0, N2, N4, N8, Colorless Blender

I die cut the kitty using the coordinating Newton's Umbrella Die Set. I stamped the sentiment using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut with a stitched circle die from the Circle Frames die set. I adhered the kitty directly to the card using liquid glue. To add a bit more dimension on the card, I used foam tape to pop up the sentiment.

You can check out my process video for this card here... You Lift Me Up Rainbow Clouds | Inky Paws Challenge 199 | Newton's Nook Designs.
