Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another card featuring goodies from the awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity!!! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! Today I'm sharing another pet sympathy card.

Not one bit of coloring for this card! Just some fun ink blending with my oxide inks. I used Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks for the rainbow along with the fabulous Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I absolutely love how the rows of the rainbow alternate on the stencil... so smart for blending over!!

I die cut the rainbow panel with the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. I blended a little bit of Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink around the clouds on the Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil. I fussy cut them leaving a little bit of a white border around the edges. I stamped the cute pup silhouette from the Somewhere Over the Rainbow stamps with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and fussy cut him as well. The clouds and pup are adhered together and then popped up with foam tape.

You can check out my process video for this card here... Pet Sympathy Card on Kraft | Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bundle | Unity Stamp Co.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white pigment ink, white embossing powder and melted with a heat tool. Head over to Unity and check out all the awesome releases! It's a HUGE release friends! And it's the BIGGEST SALE of the year!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Paw Print Sympathy Card ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
The awesome Brown Thursday Sale over at Unity Stamp Co. is here!!! What's Brown Thursday, you ask? Well, it's Unity's version of Black Friday and it's filled with a HUGE new release and a fabulous sale! Today I'm sharing a sweet pet sympathy card that was quick to make featuring the sweet Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil!

The paw prints are heat embossed with Wow! Clear Embossing Ink, a Catherine Pooler Designs Detail Blending Brush, Hero Arts Fine Clear Embossing Powder and melted with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. The sentiment from the Somewhere Over the Rainbow stamps was also heat embossed but with a combo of Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube Pigment Ink, Brutus Monroe Alabaster White Embossing Powder and the same heat tool. I also used the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool to prep the card stock before I heat embossed.

I blended Kitsch Flamingo and Peacock Feather Distress Inks over the embossed paw prints. And I did a bit of water spatters to cover up the messy embossed spots around a couple of the paws. I embossed the sentiment after blending the inks. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the sentiment... poor planning, I guess. LOL

You can check out my process video for this card here... Paw Print Sympathy Card | Somewhere Over the Rainbow Stencil | Unity Stamp Co.

I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. This was such a quick card to make! I love how it turned out. I hope you have an inktastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 25 ~ Full of Happy Hugs ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 25 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I made this sweet card for a dear friend who just said goodbye to her furry friend.

I was surprised to find that I don't have many pet sympathy stamps. Actually I went through a good majority of my Unity stamps and this adorable stamp was the only one that I felt was really fitting. It's called Full of Happy Hugs. The title doesn't seem fitting but the stamp sure does. I know Unity has some wonderful pet sympathy stamps though. I need to add one or two to my wishlist and then my collection.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color this stamp up:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E21, E23, E25, R35
Shirt: BG70, BG72
Dog: N0, N2, N4, N6
Grass: YG11, YG61, YG63

Here's a look at the sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 25. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I like to think my inspiration is usually a good example of this since I'm almost always tweaking it here or there. Today's card is no different since my focal image is on the right side and the sentiment is moved to the bottom left.

I paired up the adorable stamp with the Timeworn Paws Anthology {paper pack}. I thought it was fitting for a pet sympathy card. I die cut the background layer using the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. I had a strip of the bones paper in my paper pack already cut so I also die cut it using the same die.

I fussy cut the Full of Happy Hugs stamp on the line and then I trimmed the sentiment. I adhered them directly to the card. And I added a few enamel dots to finish off the card. I sure hope you've been inspired and can play along with the sketch! Have an inktastic week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal
