Inky Paws Challenge #201 ~ Sketch Challenge

 Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun sketch challenge! I sure do love a good sketch! I hope you have a blast with this one. I sure did! You have until Friday, July 7th to get your entries in for the #201 Sketch Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I wanted to play with a stamp that I hadn't played with yet. And since I tend to play more with my kitty stamps I thought it was time to ink up one of the pup stamps.

I just love this cute doxie stamp from the Rainy Day Doxie Stamp Set. So cute!! I had so much fun coloring it up with my Copic markers. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I also stamped the pup on a post it note and fussy cut just the bottom portion for a mask. I masked my pup and stamped the puddle. I also stamped a couple splashes coming off of the puddle, but the mask wasn't necessary for that part. Now if you don't like fussy cutting you could stamp the puddle on a die cut oval panel and stamp the pup on a scrap of card stock. Die cut the pup using the Rainy Day Doxie Die Set and then just adhere it on the puddle creating your scene that way.

I paired up the cute Rainy Day Doxie Stamp Set with the Springtime 6x6 Paper Pad. I just had to use the rain drop papers for this card. My bottom polka dot layer measures 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The rain drop layer measures 3-7/8 x 5-1/8". The flower papers measure 3-7/8 x 2" and the purple polka dot paper measures 3-7/8 x 3/4". I adhered the purple polka dot paper to the bottom portion of the flower paper and then adhered all of my layers to a white A2 top fold card base measuring 4-1/4 x 11"; scored at 5-1/2".

Once the pup was colored up I die cut him with the third largest oval die from the Oval Frames Die Set. I also stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut it using the smallest circle from the Circle Frames Die Set. I adhered the sentiment to the oval and then added a bunch of foam tape to the back of the oval and circle and popped up my focal piece on the card.
Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for this stamp:

Doxie Pup ~ E21, E23, E27, N2, N3, N6
Raincoat ~ BG0000, BG10, BG15, Y06, Y35
Umbrella ~ V000, V12, V15, RV000, RV10, RV21, RV13
Puddle ~ B000, B00, B02, B04
Grass ~ YG11, YG03

Play in the Puddles ~ February Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a new challenge for the month of February in the Unity Show & Tell group... a fun sketch challenge! Sketches are a wonderful starting point for a card design. They always get my mojo working!

Loving the fun layers for this sketch! I think it's a great one for those pretty pattern papers we're all hoarding. The measurements included are for an A2 size card, but this sketch could be easily altered for a mini slimline or an A7 card. Keep in mind that the measurements are approximate and they are really just a guide. You'll notice in my card below that my focal image is larger than the sketch calls for. The sketch is really meant to inspire creativity so have fun with it!

The Rainbow Wishes 6x6 paper pack was the perfect papers to pair up with the gorgeous wellies in the new amazing Play in the Puddles stamps {releasing later today}! The distressed lines in the background are a wonderful new stamp from the February 2023 Kit of the Month called Happy Soul. Love it!

I love the colors in these papers so I used them as my palette for my copic coloring.
Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Leaves ~ YG21, YG91, YG93
Flowers ~ R00, R12, R22
Wellies ~ BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, B37, B99

I finished off the card with two little banners using complimentary colors that I found in my stash. And then added a couple translucent enamel dots because I had forgot I was going to staple them to the card front before I adhered it to the card base. I had to improvise!

Here's another look at the sketch! Feel free to alter it to work for your creation and most importantly have some inky fun! I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to share your cards in the Unity Show & Tell group and also add them to the sketch challenge album in the group to be entered for a prize! I'll see you back here next Thursday with more inspiration for this month's sketch challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal
