Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 30 ~ Lucky Gnomie

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit more inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 30 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I had a little bit of time to draw this weekend and drew a sweet little gnome holding a shamrock.

I've called her Lucky Gnomie. I think she's pretty cute. If you'd like to play with Lucky Gnomie, I'm sharing her in my Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration group. I just ask that you don't share the photo, but invite your friends to the group so they can save it for their personal use. I printed her off just like I would a digi stamp in a Microsoft Document. And then I colored her up with Copic markers. I fussy cut her on the line and colored the edges with a black marker to make her nice and neat.

Here's a list of the Copic Markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21
Hair: Y21, E43, E44
Hat: C00, C2, RV10, RV02
Dress: C00, C2, RV10, RV02, RV14
Shoes: C00, C2
Shamrock: YG11, YG17, G14

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 30. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it.

I paired up Lucky Gnomie with the Pot O' Gold 6x6 Paper Pad from Doodlebug Designs. I had fun with these papers since there are fun shamrocks and rainbow designs. I die cut the polka dot paper using the Make a Tag {die set} from Unity. I popped her up using foam tape. The sentiment is just printed off from my computer.

I had so much fun with this card! I hope you can find time to play along. I can't wait to see what you create. Have an ink-tastic week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Inky Paws Challenge 238 ~ Showers & Flowers Theme Challenge {Week 1}

 Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun theme challenge! I always love the theme challenges! So many possibilities! You have until Friday, March 28th to get your entries in for the #238 Showers & Flowers Theme Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

This will be a fun challenge! I'm excited to see the variety of cards that will be entered.

I stamped the adorable Newton's Rain Boots Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it up with Copic markers. It's die cut using the coordinating Newton's Rain Boots Die Set.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color it up:
Kitty: YR21, YR15, YR27, R00, R20
Daisies: C00, C2, YG11, G14
Tulips: RV10, RV02, YG11, G14
Boots: V000, V12, V15, Y11, Y15
Duck: Y11, Y15, YR21, YR15, YR27

The beautiful pattern papers are from the Spring Blooms 6x6 Paper Pad. I die cut the pretty paper using the hill die from the Land Borders Die Set. The vellum layer behind the kitty was die cut using a die from the Circle Frames Die Set

I adhered all the layers to a white A2 top fold card base. I adhered the kitty to the vellum circle and then applied glue to the vellum just behind the kitty so it wouldn't be visible through the vellum. I stamped the sentiment and adhered it directly to the card.

You can check out my process video here... You Quack Me Up | Inky Paws Challenge 238 | Newton's Nook Designs.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using this fun theme. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Set of St. Patrick's Day Cards ~ All the Luck ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm a huge fan of St. Patrick's Day cards! I don't know what it is about them, but I love to make them and I love to send them to my friends. So I was super excited to see the March Madness Warehouse Sale over at Unity this weekend. Lots of fun St. Patrick's Day goodies {and lots of other stuff}!!

So I had to make a couple of cards... well, four to be exact! Once I started I just couldn't stop!

I started with a fun sketch and cut my papers for two cards. My first one features a stamp from the All the Luck stamps. Such a fun stamp! I paired it up with the Clover & Charm {paper pack}. The plaid paper measures 4 x 5-1/4". The shamrock paper is die cut with a die from the Scallops & Squares {nesting dies}. It's tucked under the kraft card stock across the card. And the focal image is popped up on the card with foam tape.

Card number two is very similar. The sentiment is from the Lucky Cuts Ephemera. I distressed the edges of the pattern papers and the ephemera piece. I also popped up the sentiment with foam tape.

Now, I had scraps and I wanted to see what I could do with them. I tore the edge of this beautiful paper and adhered it to a Kraft card base. The sentiment is popped up on the card with foam tape. Super easy peasy!

And the last card is very similar using two leftover strips. Also adhered to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape. A fun set of cards and they actually didn't take very long.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

~ Friends of Unity March 2025 Blog Hop ~

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for our Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! This month's cue is one of my favorite things...!

... a fun SKETCH! And it's doubly fun because it's also a Sketch Challenge! The Friends of Unity are hosting a fun sketch challenge in the Unity Show & Tell. Wait. It get's better!! There's prizes!! Two $25 gift cards to Unity are up for grabs! All you have to do is make a card or project inspired by the Friends of Unity Sketch above and enter it into the ALBUM in the Unity Show & Tell. You can enter as many cards as you like! Yay! I can't wait to see what you all make!

I was inspired to pull out the Grit & Grace {paper pack} and I paired it up with the gorgeous lilies from the Lily Notes stamps. On a side note, this gorgeous stamp is also available as a bundle with a fab stencil... Lily Notes {stamp & stencil bundle}.

I pulled out three different pattern papers from the Grit & Grace {paper pack}. I adhered my bottom layer to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. Next I trimmed a piece of Kraft card stock down to 4 x 5-1/4". I trimmed my lightest pattern paper to 3-3/4 x 5" and mat it with the Kraft layer. And then I trimmed my top layer of pattern paper to 3-1/4 x 4-1/2".

I stamped the lilies next. I actually stamped them twice though that probably wasn't necessary. I stamped them on white card stock and die cut them using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. I then colored the other ones using the following Copic markers: RV10, RV02, R14, Y15, YG11, YG03. I fussy cut the lilies and colored the edges of the cutting with a black marker. I then adhered them to the circle layer. I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment. I added foam tape to the back of both and popped them up on the card. And then I finished it off with a few black enamel dots.

My second card is very simple. I wanted to play with one of the Coffee To-Go Ephemera pieces. I fussy cut it leaving a thin white border around the edges. And then I got stuck... LOL! I had to go looking through my papers to find something that would work with these colors.

The colors in the Pretty Polka's {paper pack} coordinate very nicely with the colors in this cup. So I trimmed the pink paper down to 5-1/4 x 4" and adhered it to a Kraft A2 top fold card base that I turned on the side for a landscape card. I was going to just cut the green paper like I did for the first card, but got to thinking I could use a die. So I pulled out the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} and die cut the paper. My Kraft mat for this layer measures 4-1/4 x 3-1/8". I wrapped the layer with {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String and then popped up the green layer with foam tape.

I also popped up the cup on this card... this one probably won't be going in the mail! LOL! I heat embossed the sentiment using white pigment ink, white embossing powder and a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. Such a simple, but lovely card. I kept going back and forth on adding something to the sleeve on the cup. What do you think? Maybe I'll add a heart? I don't know.

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize and the lucky winner is...

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 ~ Sugar and Spice Holidays ~ Pink & Main

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring an adorable stamp from our wonderful Sponsor, Pink & Main! Pink & Main has generously offered up a $25 gift certificate as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 this month! So fabulous!!

I inked up one of the cute gingerbreads from the Sugar and Spice Holidays stamp set. Isn't that ginger just the cutest?! I love the little snowman cup he's holding! I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him up with Copic markers. I brightened the white of the icing using a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Gingerbread: E21, E23, E25
Cheeks / Nose: R20, R14
White Icing: C00, C2
Ear Muffs / Scarf: YG11, G24, G46
Cup: C00, C2, YR15, N0, N2, N4

I paired up the cute gingerbread with the Santa Claus Lane 6x6 Paper Pad from Echo Park Paper Co. I had colored the image prior to picking out papers and was tickled to find these papers. They work perfectly!

I used the measurements from the sketch for my card. I added a super easy hill of snow by just cutting a bump in a scrap of card stock. I die cut the cute gingerbread using the coordinating Sugar and Spice Holidays Dies. I adhered all my layers together and then popped up the focal image using foam tape.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 for the month of March. If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog!

Fun With Stencils ~ A Colorful Life Designs ~ Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie and I'm sharing my last post as a guest designer for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters. I've had a lot of fun sharing with you all! I hope you've enjoyed the coffee inspiration I've shared.

Today I'm sharing a fun stenciled card featuring three fabulous stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. I used the fab Fractured Beams Stencil for my background. I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks over the sun rays once and then again after shifting the stencil.

I blended over the cute cup from the Love Language Stencil on a separate piece of white card stock using Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. I fussy cut the cup and adhered it to the panel. I blended Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple Distress Inks over the cute little heart on a scrap of white card stock. I fussy cut that leaving a white border and adhered it to the cup.

I then ink blended Black Soot Distress Ink over a fun sentiment from the Snarky Coffee Stencil. I trimmed the panel and realized that I had messed up the bottom left corner at some point so I just chopped it off. I adhered the panel to a black A2 card base and added six confetti pieces from the Metallic Orange Card Bling pack, also from A Colorful Life Designs.

The ideas starting revving once I got started so I made a couple more cards. I blended lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the Mmmm portion of the Mmm Coffee Stencil. And then I blended with Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the 'Coffee'.

I added the little heart from the Coffee Pot Stencil using Candied Apple Distress Ink. A fun CAS card on Kraft card stock.

I had an idea for the Coffee Pot Stencil so I ran with it. I blended the coffee pot with Black Soot Distress Ink. And without adding ink to my blending brush, I blended the steam lightly with the same brush. I blended Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the coffee. I left the coffee pot stencil in place and laid the Mmm Coffee Stencil over top and blended Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the Mmmm. I removed the coffee pot stencil and masked the Mmm coffee stencil and then blended the 'Coffee'. And I just had to blend another heart with Candied Apple Distress Ink.

I trimmed up the panel and adhered it to a black A2 top fold card base. These were such fun cards to make! I hope you've enjoyed the cards I've shared today and throughout the month. Have a wonderful weekend crafty friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 54 ~ Winter Remix Berry Stencil ~ Club Scrap

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 54 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a lovely holiday card using the Winter Remix Berry Stencil from our lovely Sponsor Club Scrap. Unfortunately, I bought this item on clearance and it looks like they aren't available any more.

I blended Vintage Photo and Scorched Timber Distress Inks over the branches on the stencil. I blended Spun Sugar and Festive Berries Distress Inks over the berries.

I used Copic markers to add depth and shadow to the branches and berries. I used T5 for the branches and R20, R14, and R37 for the berries.

I used the measurements from the sketch for my card. To make the two panels on top stand out from the others I distressed the edges very lightly with a brown blending brush without adding more ink to the brush. I die cut the sentiment from the cut apart papers from the Gnome for Christmas Maze Book in a Box using a circle die and popped it up on the card. The ribbon is a grosgrain ribbon from Stampin' Up. It's really old. LOL! I think it's called cranberry.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 54 for the month of February. Today is the last day to enter this challenge! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'm always blown away by the creations from the DT... they are amazingly talented cardmakers!

Best Day Ever Memory Dex Card ~ Best Day Anya ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing another fun memory dex card featuring a sweet stamp set from The Greeting Farm!!

I still had my memory dex dies on my desk so I thought, why not make another one? I've been wanting to ink up Best Day Anya for awhile and she's just too cute on this card.

I stamped the adorable Anya with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored her up with Copic Markers. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find Best Day Anya on the website. But if you'd like to have her you can check out the Farmers Market and submit a request via email... maybe she'll be available for the next Farmers Market. Fingers crossed!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E04, R00, R20
Hair: Y21, E43, E44
Ears: N0, N2, N4, N6, N8
Heart / Dress: R20, R14, R27
Bow: Y11, Y15
Boots: N0, N2, N4, N6

I die cut my layers for the memory dex card using an old retired die from my stash along with some fun papers called Mousin' Mix-Up {paper pad} from Unity. I also paper pieced the cute bow using the papers. I stamped the area around the bow onto the pattern paper and then I fussy cut it with scissors. I colored the edges of my fussy cutting with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to make the cutting nice and neat and then I adhered it to the colored image.

I die cut a few circles to create a balloon using the Nesting Circles Die from Waffle Flower. I adhered a piece of black twine from Anya's hand behind her to the balloon. And then finished it off with a yellow bow. So fun to make. I hope I've inspired you to get inky!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal

Hello there crafty friend!
Happy Membership Wednesday! Today I'm sharing a sweet card featuring the adorable bunny from the February 2025 Uniquely Unity membership from Unity called Cottontail Cutie.

Isn't she the cutest bunny ever?! Love her! I stamped the bunny with Black Amalgam ink and colored it up with some Copic markers. I stamped the bunny again on a larger piece of white card stock and die cut it using a square die from the Scallops & Squares {nesting dies}. I fussy cut the Copic colored bunny and adhered it over top of the square die cut bunny.

Here's a quick list of the ones I used:
Bunny: W00, W1, W3, C00, C2, R00, R20
Egg: RV10, RV02, V12, V15

I paired up the sweet bunny with the awesome Linen background stamp. I stamped the background a few different times using Kitsch Flamingo, Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.

I stamped and trimmed up the sentiment. I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and the bunny and popped them up on the card. I finished up the card with a few white enamel dots. So fun! I love it soo!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 30 ~ Bella ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a brand new sketch challenge! Woohoo! Today I'm sharing my first card for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 30 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I inked up the adorable Bella... one of the new Rescue Tales from Unity!

She reminds me of my MIL's sweet Mimi. Both my MIL and Mimi have passed but I cherish those memories, you know? Anywho, I stamped the sweet pup with Amalgam Black ink and colored her up with just a handful of Copic Markers: R00, R20, E51, E53, C00, C2, and Colorless Blender.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 30. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it.

I paired up sweet Bella with the Timeworn Paws Anthology {paper pack}. I used scraps for my background and just adhered them to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. I die cut the polka dot paper using a die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. Bella needed a layer between her and the background so I die cut a circle from Kraft card stock using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}

I stamped the sentiment on a long strip of card stock. I distressed it just a little bit to tone down the bright white and then I adhered it to the card. I finished off the card with a few black enamel dots. Such a fun sketch! I hope you can find time to play along during the next four weeks! I can't wait to see what you create. Have an ink-tastic week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal
