{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 59 ~ Lovely Latte ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a little inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 59 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun holiday card featuring a cute die and stamp from our fabulous Sponsor, Lawn Fawn.

I started with my background for this card. I pulled out my retired Perfectly Plaid Christmas 6x6 Paper Pack and trimmed the background layer to 4 x 5-1/4". The teal paper was a scrap. It measures 4 x 1-3/4". I adhered those layers to a red A2 top fold card base of Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I die cut the pieces for the cup using the Lovely Latte dies. The face and handle were die cut from Pure Poppy card stock. The coffee was die cut from Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. The lighter part of the coffee, the inner (green) portion of the cup, and the face/cheeks were die cut from Stampers Select White card stock and I colored them with Copics.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Green: YG11, G24, G46
Coffee: E51
Cheeks: R00, R20
Kitty: R00, R20, YR20, YR15, N0, N2, N4
Bell: Y15, Y28
Eyes / Mouth: 100 (black)

I die cut a circle from vellum card stock using a die from the Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables dies. I adhered the cup to the vellum and then adhered the vellum to the card by only applying liquid glue behind the cup. I stamped the adorable kitty from the Say What? Holiday Critters. I colored her like my sweet Quinn and die cut her with the coordinating Say What? Holiday Critters dies. I popped her up on the card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Thanks a Latte stamp set. I trimmed it and adhered it directly to the card.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's Day 2 of previews at The Greeting Farm for the July release. I am loving the super cute foxes in the FELIX THE FOX stamp set!! They are all SO cute!

I inked up just the one fox for my card, but I used a bunch of the other stamps in the set. I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them up with Copic markers. I added white dots to the red mushroom with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Fox: E95, E97, E09, R00, R20, W0, W2, W3, N2, N4, N6
Shorts: BV02, BV34, BV08
Log: E25, E57, E29
Bushes / Grass: YG11, BG34, BG49
Tree: E25, E57, E29, Y11, Y15, YR15
Falling Leaves: Y11, Y15, YR15, R20, R14, R27
Mushrooms: W1, W2, W3, R20, R14, R27
Blue Bird: YR16, B000, B91, B93, E000, E00, E21

I paired up the cute fox with a few scraps of paper I have from Lawn Fawn. I don't actually know the name of these papers. I adore the colors though... they inspired my whole color scheme.

I fussy cut all of the colored images and colored the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I adhered all the images on the yellow pattern paper. I adhered the trimmed sentiment to the bottom of the panel and then popped up the panel and sentiment with foam tape.

This card was so much fun to make! Be sure to stop by the TGF blog to see all the makes from the design team. The release goes live in the store on the 15th at 12am EST.

I made a fun background using the My Favorite Summer 6x6 Paper Pad from Echo Park Paper Co. The dark blue papers that cover the card measure 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The yellow striped papers measure 4 x 5-1/4". The floral paper measures 4 x 1-3/4" and the dark blue mat for the floral paper measures 4-1/4 x 2".

I adhered all of my layers together and then adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base. I adhered the butterfly to the card. I adhered the little flower pot to the bottom of Anya's flower bouquet and then I popped them both up with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment, trimmed it and popped it up on the card, as well, with foam tape.

Have Fun! ~ Summer Anya ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm having some summer fun with the super cute and adorable Summer Anya from The Greeting Farm!

I found this adorable stamp in my stash and she just needed to see some ink! Unfortunately, I can't seem to find Summer Anya on the website. But if you'd like to add her to your collection, you can check out thFarmers Market and submit a request via email... maybe she'll be available for the next Farmers Market.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her up with Copic markers. I fussy cut Summer Anya leaving a white border around her. I added foam tape to the back of her and popped her up on the card.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R00, R20
Hair: Y11, E43, E44
Rubber Band / Bow: RV10, RV29, YG11, YG63, G07
Mouth: R20, R14, C0, C2
Top: YG11, YG63, G07

Shoes: C0, C2, N0, N2, N4, N6
Ice Cream: E21, E25, R20, R14, RV10, RV29
Sunglasses: N0, N2, N4

I paired up Summer Anya with some fun watermelon papers from my stash. I cut my green layer down to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a black A2 top fold card base. The pink watermelon seed paper layer measures 3-3/4 x 2-1/4". And the watermelon layer was die cut with a wonky stitched die and measures approximately 3 x 4-1/4". I adhered the trimmed sentiment to the watermelon paper and popped up the layer with foam tape.

Such a fun summer card! Makes me want to get some watermelon sorbet and cool off! I finished off the card by adding a few 'watermelon seed' sprinkles to the ice cream with a black marker. I hope I've inspired you to get inky!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 34 ~ September 2024 KOM Wander and Wonder ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing some fun inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 34 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I found this sweet stamp already inked up and sitting on my desk so I thought I'd color it up. It's from the September 2024 Kit of the Month called Wander and Wonder from Unity.

My process:
  • The pumpkin was stamped with Black Amalgam ink and colored with Copic markers
  • Die cut with a square die from the Scallops & Squares {nesting dies}
  • The papers are scraps from the Autumn Vibes Paper Pad from Not 2 Shabby
  • I trimmed the lengths of the scraps to 3-7/8" and 4"
  • Adhered the scraps to a Kraft A2 top fold card turned on it's side for a landscape card
  • Trimmed the sentiment and distressed the edges of the sentiment and pumpkin square with Vintage Photo Distress Ink
  • Adhered the sentiment to the pumpkin square
  • Added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and the pumpkin square and popped it up on the card
  • Finished it off with a few glitter enamel dots

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 34. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I adjusted my design this time by turning it.

Inky Paws Challenge #242 ~ Color Challenge {Week 1}

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new Inky Paws Challenge! We're playing with a fun mix of colors this month for a Color Challenge! I sure hope that you'll join us and play along with your Newton's Nook Designs products! Don't forget... our challenges are a whole month long so there's lots of time to play along! Yay! You have until Friday, August 1st to get your entries in for the #242 Color Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Our beautiful colors are... Cotton Candy Pink, Orange Sherbet, Turquoise, and Royal Blue!! Love this pretty combination of colors!

I stamped the beautiful coffee themed heart from the Heartfelt Coffee Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored up all the coffee cups with Copic markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for the kitty and heart:
White: C0, C2
Cotton Candy Pink: RV10, RV52
Orange Sherbet: YR20, YR15
Turquoise: BG000, BG01, BG05
Royal Blue: B02, B24, B28
Coffee: E21, E25
'BREW': RV10, RV52

I die cut the heart using a die from the Heart Frames Die Set, but the scrap of white card stock wasn't big enough. Poor planning on my part! LOL! So I trimmed around the stitching on the heart and adhered it to another heart that I die cut from another piece of white card stock.

I made a fun background using three of the colors and the Plaid Stencil Set. I blended
Kitsch Flamingo and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks over the first stencil in the set. And then I blended Broken China Distress Ink over the second stencil to finish off the pattern. I really like how it turned out. I popped up the heart and the sentiment using foam tape.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the color combo of Cotton Candy Pink, Orange Sherbet, Turquoise, and Royal Blue. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

~ Friends of Unity July 2025 Blog Hop ~

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for our Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! This month's cue is a lot of fun!

I love getting inky with a fun mixed media card. I did struggle a bit getting going with these but once I did some ink smooshing I was on a roll! I can't be the only one who finds ink smooshing so relaxing. I love it! It makes a bad day so much better.

I ink smooshed my background for this one using Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink leaving a good amount of white space. I added a little bit of Squeezed Lemonade but it's really not noticeable. I partially inked up A Faithful Letter background stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The pretty little butterflies are from the retired {...With Her Own Wings}. I just inked up a handful of the butterflies for the corners. I die cut the background using the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} and then I adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. I finished off the background with some black acrylic paint spatters.

The butterflies are from the Paper Wings stamps. I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them on the line except around the antennae where I left a white border. The butterflies are adhered to the card on their bodies and antennae. I folded up the wings for some dimension. The sentiment is from the Extended Celebration stamps. I trimmed it and adhered it to the card. I finished off the card with a few pearl embellishments I think I got from a Unity order.

My second card also has some ink smooshing. Ink smooshing is my go-to mixed media technique. This time I used Twisted Citron and Wild Honey Distress Inks. I wanted to use colors that I normally wouldn't put together. For some reason these colors made me want to work with a chicken stamp so I grabbed the fun new Still Peckin' Fabulous

And then I stamped the fun Chicken Wire background stamp.... which is retired. Bummer! Maybe you have it in your stash. I stamped it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I also stamped the squiggly lines from the stamps called Never with the same ink. I heat embossed the circle trio with clear embossing ink and Penny embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I love the texture and shine it gives the card.

I stamped the fun chicken and colored it up with Copic markers. I heat embossed the sentiment with a white pigment ink and white embossing powder on a dark brown card stock. I fussy cut the chicken and adhered it to the sentiment and then I added foam tape to the back of both and popped them up on the card. Voila!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Chicken / Eyes: C0, C2, C3
Beak: Y11, YR20, YR15, YR27
Waddle: R20, R14, R27
Hat: YG11, YG03, YG63, B00, B02
Present: YR20, YR15, YR68, B00, B02
Balloon: Y11, YR20, YR15, YR68
