Scrapping for Less ~ September 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Orchards and Patches

Fall is here! Let's take a trip to the Apple Orchard or maybe you want to go to the Pumpkin Patch! A little story about pumpkin patches... I started scrapbooking when our first grandchild was born. And boy did I love documenting everything about his growth. When he was 3 I wanted to take him to a pumpkin patch for the sole purpose of being able to do a photo shoot there and as a result create a scrapbook page. So whether you scrapbook or make cards, make sure you enjoy the fall weather and do something fun! Our Guest and Design Team has some fabulous projects to share with the September kit "Orchards and Patches." Please visit Scrapping for Less to get your kit. So... what do you think?! Isn't it just gorgeous?! I love it!
I had a blast creating four cards to share with you all... let's get to it!

Collection One: Sweet Sunflower Patch
I masked this gorgeous stamp and stamped the flower and sentiment separate to create this beautiful card. Sunflowers are my second favorite flower and I always enjoy coloring them! I used the following Copic markers to color these images ~ Y000, Y02, Y13, Y35, YR24, YR27, E25, E29.

I adhered the beautiful trimmed panels to Nightshift Blue mats measuring 1-1/2 x 3". I then adhered the pretty paper to a Nightshift Blue mat measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I adhered the panel to a Lemon Drop card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and then adhered the trio of panels to the card front. I wrapped the card front with the beautiful white organza ribbon and tied a faux bow ~ which is basically a knot. And then I adhered the entire card front to a white A2 top-fold card base.

Collection Two: Apple Orchard Pickin'
How stinkin' cute is this adorable gnome?! Oh my goodness... he is just too cute! I couldn't wait to ink him up and color! I had fun mix matching the papers included in this collection to create my layers for this card. I used the first sketch included in the September 2020 Sketch Sheet... but added a second circle for the sentiment. And I paper pieced his hat with the green with white polka dot papers.

I used the following Copic markers for this card:
Nose ~ E000, E00, E11
Beard ~ C00, C1, C3
Hat ~ YG11, YG23, R000, R14, R27
Grass ~ YG03, YG17
Outline ~ N1

Collection Three: Floral Patches
Another super cute image in the card kit this month... this Raggedy Ann scarecrow I've nicknamed Miss Patches. I had a so much fun doing a mix of copic coloring and paper piecing with this cute stamp! I also masked her to add the fence. Such a fun collection!

I used the following Copic Markers for this card:
Skin ~ E000, E01, E11
Nose/Eyes ~ YR15, R05, B000, B91, C1
Hair ~ Y02, Y11, Y15, Y35
Hat/Pocket ~ B000, B41, B91, B97, B99, R14, R46, R59, R89
Fence ~ E55, E57, E59
Grass ~ YG03, YG63, YG67, YG99
Sky ~ B0000

Collection Four: Pumpkin Patches and Harvest Wishes
If you saw my Sneak Peek from yesterday >>> Hello There Pumpkin <<< you shouldn't be too surprised to see that I have the teal truck featured on my card again! I couldn't help but use that piece of ephemera! I added a scrap of the pumpkin paper behind the ephemera to make it a fun feature piece for my card. Now this cute slimline card is our sketch for October's Sketch Challenge so get your creative juices flowing and get ready to play along with another slimline sketch challenge!! Yay! I hope you're as excited as I am!

Anywho... back to my card. As you can see in the picture, there's a bunch of adorable ephemera pieces in this collection. I chose to feature a sentiment and frame for my card. I wanted to showcase the Speckled Orange card stock that's in the background {and such a cool card stock!!} but also break it up and share another fun paper from the card kit. So I cut a strip of the striped paper and mat it with Nightshift Blue card stock. I adhered a long 3/4" strip of Wild Cherry card stock underneath and then popped up the ephemera pieces with foam squares. I finished up this last card with a few enamel dots from the collection.

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Christine!

So... if you have followed my creative card making journey at all, you may know about my obsession with teal trucks. lol... I love them so! It's really no surprise that I just had to frame this adorable paper and make it a feature of my card! I love it!

I layered the two beautiful papers from Collection Four and adhered a stitched scallop frame that I die cut from white card stock. I stamped the Hey There Pumpkin stamp with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it in with my Copic markers. I used the following Copic markers:

'Hey There' ~ E23
'Pumpkin' ~ BG01, BG10, BG45, BG57
Pumpkin ~ YR15, YR21, YR27, YR68, E21, E23, E27

I fussy cut around the image and sentiment and then adhered it a white stitched oval. I then popped that up on the card and finished it off with a few enamel dots. You can check out my process video below...

I am just loving how this card turned out. It has me dreaming about cooler days with leaves changing colors and falling leaves. *sigh*  Do you love Fall too? Let me know in the comments what's your favorite part of the Fall season.

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing one more card using the adorable Bubbles Galore card kit from Scrapping for Less!! I've used the cute Bubbles Die from the Banana Split subscription to create an easy border edge for my card.

I did a little paper piecing with my copic colored dragon from the Tiny Bubbles stamp set in Collection Four: Bubbles Galore. And the cute sentiment that I think goes just perfectly with this card design is from the Bubbles in the Tub stamp set included in Collection One: Bubbles in the Tub.

Here's a close up of the card. I used the following Copic markers to color this cute dragon:

And my Copic Coloring of the Winter Fairies fairy here... Copic Coloring of Fairy

I actually made this Fun Fold Card first, but I added SO many layers that I wanted to make a quicker version to share with you all so I made a more CAS card. But how adorable is this one!! I really love the soft pinks and greens and I pulled those colors from the beautiful Winter in Pink paper pad... one of my absolute fave papers for Christmas!!

I used the same stamp sets for this card... Winter Fairies, Winter Fairy House, and Christmas Sentiments.

And the inside... Ahhh-dorable!!! Am I right?! I created a little scene with the Winter Fairy House and the cute fairy snoozing on the moon.

~ Friends of Unity September 2020 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!

Welcome to the September 2020 Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! We have a fun cue for this month...

Friendship!! Such a fitting cue for the Friends of Unity!
I love my crafty friends and the gals in the Friends of Unity are some of my dearest friends!
I created my cards with you all in mind!

I was inspired by the gorgeous fall card shared by Dana Gebhard Johnson in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group. She used a beautiful combination of alcohol inks to create a stunning background for her beautiful card. I didn't have quite the same colors but I sure had fun playing!! It's been along time since I pulled out the alcohol inks and got inky... literally, my finger tips were a mess! lol

I used Willow, Sunset Orange, Turquoise, Espresso, Copper Mixative, and lots of Alcohol Blending Solution on Alcohol Ink Yupo White Heavystock. I used Early Espresso and Tranquil Tide card stock for this card.

Some of the texture in this background is the fuzzies from the mini applicator felt... lol... I picked most of it off but left it on this one. I actually like the added texture. I used Early Espresso (again) and Tangerine Tango for this card.

I really love how this background turned out, but it's not my favorite...

This one is my favorite!! My husband said we should have framed them and hung them in the house. I almost said yes... but I wanted to share them.

There's a bit of that fuzzy texture in this one too, but the Copper Mixative really adds to the beauty in this one. The pictures don't quite show it, sadly. I used Early Espresso (yes, again) and Copper Kraft stock from Tim Holtz for this one.

For my last piece of yupo I also played with the Alcohol Lift Ink along with the gorgeous Thankful and Grateful Fall September 2018 sentiment kit. Actually, I used the sentiment kit for all of the cards... but I only used the leaves for this last card. I stamped the leaves on a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card front of kraft with Wow Clear Embossing ink. I set it aside to dry because I just wanted the watermark effect.

I then stamped the leaves with Alcohol Lift Ink on my last alcohol ink panel... I love how it didn't lift the Copper Mixative on the card so there's drips and drops over the lightened leaves. Since this background was lighter, I went with a kraft card front rather than the darker Early Espresso and mat the background panel with the Copper Kraft stock. The sentiments were all stamped with Wow Clear Embossing ink and then I heat embossed Brutus Monroe Alabaster White embossing powder.

I'm really happy with how these all turned out! I hope you're inspired too!

Be sure to hop along and comment on each of the blogs for your chance to win one of the giveaways!

Let's get to the hopping...

Scrapping for Less ~ A Couple Cute Christmas Cards

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a couple of cute Christmas cards using a mix of new and old Christmas products from Scrapping for Less! I used the new beautiful Red Christmas paper pad along with the Christmas Sentiments and Reindeer Games stamp sets.

A fabulous mix of pretty papers and adorable stamps along with a fun sketch makes for some adorable Christmas cards to add to my stash! Speaking of a fun sketch... I'm using the sweet sketch over at Poetic Artistry for the current Mojo Monday #544 sketch challenge.

The linky for this sketch challenge is open for just a couple more days... you can check it out here at Mojo Monday 544!!

Using a white card base for my first card helps the white in the patterned papers to pop on the card... really drawing your eye to all the pretty papers!

I just love this cute Reindeer kid from the stamp set... so fun to color!

I love the mix of kraft, red, and white in these papers... one of my favorite color combos AND perfect for Christmas cards!! I probably shouldn't have included the tree... it kinda messes with the color scheme but it's so cute!

I used the following Copic markers for both cards:

Reindeer Kid ~ R14, R20, R27, E000, E23, E25, E31, E34, E51, YR23, YR27
Christmas Tree ~ G24, G28, G29, Y06, Y17, R14, R20, R27, E55, E57, E59, B000, B01

Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? I have just over a dozen in my stash... I really need to get more done so I'm not freaking out around the holidays. Well, that's it for me this time.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Scrapping for Less ~ September 2020 Fall Color Challenge ~ Let's Bundle Up and Get Cozy!

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing the new challenge cue over at Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group. I don't know about you all but I absolutely LOVE Fall colors... the rich combinations of earth tones along with the regal tones... it makes my heart so happy to play with these colors!! I thought it was time to switch things up and do a color challenge!

Before we get to the color challenge... a little business... the key to playing along with the challenges in the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group is being a member of the group so if you aren't already a member please join us here!! We'd love to have you come join us! Also, please note that you don't need a blog to enter the challenge as you're adding a photo of your creation directly into the challenge album in the group. You are welcome, however, to add a link to your blog in the description of your creations if you'd like.

Let's check out the Fall Color Challenge cue...

{Photo Credit: love-palette.tumblr.com}

Stunning color combo, am I right? I love it!

We have a dark green, light olive, deep yellow, yummy orange, rich cranberry & luscious eggplant.
Of course, if you don't have these exact colors it's ok... just try to use similar ones. And you can incorporate any neutrals that you need for your design.

Here is my card... using the gorgeous Cozy Fall papers from Scrapping for Less along with the adorable Bundle Up stamp set from Hero Arts. Both of these products are available in the SFL shop!!

If you've been playing along with our sketch challenges in the Facebook group, you may recognize the sketch I used for my card design. This is one of my favorites for featuring pretty papers... so I just had to use it. I stamped the cabin with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Hickory Smoke distress ink cubes carefully inking it up in sections. I then colored it just a little for highlights with my Copic markers. I stamped a few leaves, acorns and pine cones on a scrap of white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored those in with Copics, as well.

Here's a list of the Copic markers I used:

Cabin ~ N0, N2, E23, E25, E55, E57
Pine Cones ~ E51, E55, E57
Acorns ~ E21, E23, E25
Leaves ~ Y11, Y15, Y35, YR15, YR21, YR68, R000, R05, R14, R27, R39, R46, R56
Sky ~ Y000, Y11, YR15, YR21, YR23, YR27

I also die cut the Autumn Blessings die twice from the dark green paper in the Cozy Fall paper pad. I adhered those together and then adhered them to a piece of the cream sweater paper. I trimmed that down and mat it with the dark green paper. I adhered the sentiment to the focal image and then popped it up on the card front. So... what do you think? I think it turned out pretty cute and it's definitely got me excited for Fall!

I hope you'll come by the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group and play along with the September challenge. It starts today and will end September 30th at 11:59pm EDT. The winner will be announced on October 1st in the challenge album. Please use hashtag #sflcolorchallenge5 in any social media posts when playing along with the challenge. Can't wait to see what you create with this gorgeous Fall inspired color palette!!

See ya next time.
