Monochromatic Sympathy ~ Peony Reverie ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's hard to make sympathy cards. Especially when you need one. I think a monochromatic floral card is nice for a sympathy card. When I saw the gorgeous Peony Reverie I wanted to see what it would look like with a sepia style of coloring.

I've done sepia colorings before but I think I've colored them on white card stock. This time I wanted to see what it would look like on Kraft card stock. I colored the peonies with just E21 and E25.

I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. I adhered the panel to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. I added a touch of white to the center of the peonies using a white gel pen.

The sentiment from the Say It Loud & Clear stamps was heat embossed with a clear embossing ink and black embossing powder. My black embossing powder is very old from Stampin' Up. I had to heat emboss the sentiment twice because of the old ep. It's also contaminated with paper bits and other stuff. Probably time to replace it. Any suggestions for a good black embossing powder? I fussy cut the sentiment and popped it up on the card with foam tape. I really like how this turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

How's it Growing? ~ Petal Princesses ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm wondering How's It Growing?! Haha... I'm sharing a sweet card featuring one of the beauties from the Petal Princesses Big Kit from The Greeting Farm!

I was so excited when my kit arrived that I just had to ink up a few of the cute Petal Princesses!! I was going to share the beautiful Daisy Anya from the kit but I saw her on the blog already a couple of times so I went with my next fave... Peony Anya! Isn't she gorgeous! Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the Petal Princesses Big kit on the website. But if you'd like to add her and the rest of the Petal Princesses to your collection, you can check out thFarmers Market and submit a request via email... maybe it'll be available for the next Farmers Market.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her up with Copic markers. I fussy cut Peony Anya on the line and then I used a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to color the edges of my fussy cutting. This makes the cutting look nice and neat.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, RV10, R20
Hair: Y11, E33, E15, E09
Flower: BV00000, BV31, BV23
Leaves: YG91, YG95, YG97
Dress: C00, C2, C3, BV0000, BV31, BV23
Shoes: BV0000, BV31, BV23

I paired up Peony Anya with the C'est La Vie paper pad from Pink Paislee. These pretty papers had peonies and I thought they would be fun to use with this beautiful Anya. I cut them down to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" and adhered a 1" strip of the peony paper along the right edge.

I wanted to add a bit of a frame around Anya so I die cut a rectangle from vellum card stock using the Loopy Rectangle from Gina Marie Designs. I die cut a couple of hearts using the Dashes and Frills Hearts Die Set from Unity. And then I finished off the card with a few enamel hearts from the Doodlebug Design I Love Snow Shape Sprinkles. I hope I've inspired you to get inky!

See ya next time.

Sending Prayers ~ Peony Ledger ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a card I made using the new Peony Ledger stamp from Unity. Love love love this gorgeous stamp by Graciellie Design! If you haven't checked out the new releases or the current sale, be sure to stop by Unity. The sale ends tonight!!

I started this card by stamping the lovely Peony Ledger on a piece of white card stock measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I then ink smooshed Lost Shadow and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I just recently got the Lost Shadow so I'm been anxious to play with it! Loving it so far!

I stamped the Peony Ledger a second time on a scrap of white card stock and colored it up with the following Copic markers: YG000, YG20, YG65, Y15, Y35, G0000, G82, YG91, Colorless Blender. I then fussy cut the flower on the line. I colored up the edges of the fussy cut flowers with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker so the edges would look nice. I then paper pieced the flowers over the ink smooshed peonies. I die cut the background using the largest die from the Make a Tag Die Set. I also die cut a piece of True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I tore the left side of the peony tag... right along the edge of the stamped image. I then adhered the peony tag to the black tag. I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment. I also fussy cut a black mat from True Black card stock. I adhered them together and laid them across the top of the tag and then used a piece of washi tape to secure the Make a Tag die to the sentiment. I ran it through my Big Shot to achieve that stitched and scalloped edge. I splattered the tag with some diluted black acrylic paint. Once it was dry, I adhered the sentiment to the tag and wrapped the tag a few times with {Black} May Arts Burlap String.

The background layer was created by stamping the Wood Pile background stamp onto Weathervane card stock from Papertrey Ink with Weathervane ink, also from Papertrey Ink. I also added some black splatters to the background. I put a bunch of foam tape all over the back of the peony tag and popped it up on the card. I then adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base.

Head over to Unity to check out all the amazing new releases!! The current sale ends tonight!
