Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Winter Sparrows ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my first card for the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party hosted by the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! It's hard to believe that this is our fifth annual Christmas in July Linky Party. Even though were in the middle of Summer the linky party is focused on Christmas and wintry holiday cards. It's a great way to get ahead on those holiday cards to relieve some of the stress later on in the year during the holidays. I am super excited to add a few more holiday cards to my Christmas card stash and I sure hope that you'll join in the fun!

For my first card I'm featuring the super sweet Winter Sparrows from our awesome Sponsor Lawn Fawn. I stamped the branch and cute birds using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colored them up with Copic markers. And then I die cut the birds using a circle die from the Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables dies from Lawn Fawn.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color up the sweet birds
Birds ~ Y11, Y15, Y35, YR15, YR16
Hat ~ R20, R14, R46, C00, C1, C3
Ear Muffs ~ YG11, G24, G46
Background ~ B0000, B000

I paired up the cute Winter Sparrows with the sweet Knit Picky 6x6 Paper Pack. These papers are retired but Lawn Fawn does have the beautiful Knit Picky Winter 6x6 Paper Pack. I adhered the simple layer of pattern paper to a white A2 top fold card base turned on its side using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web

I stamped the tweet sentiment using Candied Apple Distress Ink. And then I popped up the birdies using iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (white) from our awesome Sponsor Therm O Web. A quick and cute card to start off the Linky Party!

My card was inspired by the {BYSHC} Sketch 46 from last month! Have you visited the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group? We host a fun sketch challenge each month to inspire our holiday cardmaking all year long. I love using sketches for my cards... makes designing the cards so easy! I'll definitely be sharing a few past sketches during the Linky Party.

I'm also a Sponsor for the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party!! I have a wonderful prize set aside for one lucky winner. I'm leaving it as a fun surprise, so no photo this time. For a chance to win my fun prize make a Christmas card and link it up to the linky party blog post on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog. The winner will be announced on the {BYSHC} blog on Tuesday, July 30th.

Before you leave, be sure to stop by the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration from our Sponsors and the {BYSHC} Design Team!! I'm so excited to continue building my stash of holiday cards for 2024... I hope you'll join in the fun and play along!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 ~ Eat, Sleep & Be Merry ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch 46 over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the super cute sloth from the exclusive Eat, Sleep & Be Merry stamp from our awesome sponsor, Lawn Fawn! This stamp set was a collaboration with Simon Says Stamp for the 2021 STAMPtember event.

Unfortunately, it's not available anymore but I'm super excited to finally ink up my stamp set. I know I'm not the only one with uninked stamp sets in their stash. I love inking up some of these sets for our challenges. I stamped the cute sloth, a gift and a couple of ornaments using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them all up with Copic markers.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Sloth: W00, W2, W4, W6, W8
Branch: E55, E57, E59
Red: R20, R14, R46
White: C00, C1, C3

I die cut the sloth using a die from the Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables dies from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut the gift and ornaments using the coordinating Eat, Sleep & Be Merry die set. I paired up the cute sloth with pretty papers called Knit Picky 6x6 Petite Paper Pack. Looks like Lawn Fawn discontinued those papers but they do have the Knit Picky Winter 6x6 Petite Paper Pack. I adhered the pattern paper to a white A2 top fold card base turned on its side for a landscape card.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock using Candied Apple Distress Ink. I trimmed up the sentiment cutting a fishtail at one end. I adhered it to the circle and then I added foam tape to the back of both pieces and popped them up on the card. I like to use a thin foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesive. It gives a bit of dimension but it's not too bulky to mail the card in a regular A2 envelope.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 for the month of June. I am really loving this sketch! I am also loving all the entries for this month's challenge. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch. There's just a few days left to play along! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 ~ Winter Skies ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with more inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch 46 over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the adorable Winter Skies stamp from our awesome sponsor, Lawn Fawn! Lawn Fawn has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 this month! So amazing!!

This month's sketch is so simple! I think it makes for a pretty quick card. I couldn't help myself I had to ink smoosh again. It's just so therapeutic creating a background just by smooshing some ink. I used Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks for a pretty winter sky. I then ink blended a bit of the Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink over the background and ink smooshed some more Wilted Violet Distress Ink. It pairs up perfectly with the adorable Winter Skies stamp from Lawn Fawn. I dried the background completely with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool and then splattered white acrylic paint on the panel.

I die cut my ink smooshed panel using the Forest Borders dies. And then I placed the die back in the negative space of the panel and die cut a card front of Stampers Select White Card Stock. By lining up those two pieces of card stock at the top, I was able to line up the card stock and background so they'll fit back together like a puzzle and make just one layer on the card. I hope that makes sense. I'm trying to keep my layers minimal for some cards so I don't have to worry about extra postage when I mail them. The other option would be to just die cut the white card stock piece and adhere it over the ink smooshed background. Super easy, but it adds that partial layer. Before adhering the pieces together onto a white A2 top fold card base, I ran the ink smooshed background through my Big Shot with the Stitched Windy Backdrop die. You can see some of the fun stitches on the left side of the card. It's kind of hard to see them in the photos though. It's such a fun touch in person though!

I stamped the adorable bears on a scrap of white card stock. I colored them up with my Copic markers. I then die cut them using the coordinating die from the Winter Skies Lawn Cuts. I set the bears aside and stamped the sentiment from the Winter Skies onto my card front. I used an acetate grid sheet over the card to check the position and adjusted until I was happy. I added foam tape to the back of the bears and popped them up on the card. I like to use a thin foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesive. It gives a bit of dimension but it's not too bulky to mail the card in a regular A2 envelope.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Left Bear: E53, E55, E57, E59
Right Bear: E51, E53, E55, E57
Scarf: B000, B02, B04, V01, V05, V06

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 ~ Cheery Deer ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the adorable deer die from our amazing sponsor, Lawn Fawn! Lawn Fawn has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 this month! So awesome!!

This month's sketch is pretty simple! I think it'll be a great one to make multiple cards with. Of course, that does depend on what your focal image is for the card. LOL! I chose the adorable Cheery Deer dies from our amazing sponsor Lawn Fawn. And this adorable die is really fun to work with but it's also a bit time consuming. I did have some leftover die cuts in with my dies from the last card I made using this die so that was cool. And then I just used scraps of card stock to cut the other pieces I needed. I used Kraft, Berry Sorbet, Tropical Teal, Pure Poppy and True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink along with Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink card stock from Stampin' Up.

I paired up the adorable deer with the beautiful Perfectly Plaid Christmas 6x6 Petite Paper Pack. Sadly, I can't find these papers on the website. I adhered the plaid pattern paper to the front of a white A2 top fold card turned on its side. I trimmed another piece of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and die cut it using a die from the Stitched Hillside Borders dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Wavy Sayings stamp set using my Mini Misti so I could bend the sentiment to fit along the stitched edge. I used an acetate grid sheet over the card to check the position and adjust until I was happy. It's not perfect but it's handmade so I'm happy with it. I die cut a piece of vellum using a die from the Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables. I adhered the deer to the vellum and then added glue just behind the deer to adhere it to the card. This way no glue showed through the vellum. I added a cute enamel dot to the deer's nose to finish this one off.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 46 for the month of June. I am loving this sketch! I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch. Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Winter Cardinals ~ Pink & Main

 Hello there crafty friend!
I can't believe how fast the time is going by! We are nearing the end of the Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party! It's always so sad to reach the end, but I'm super happy to be adding so many cards to my stash!

I had another fun idea for a CAS card. This time I used the adorable Winter Cardinals from our wonderful Sponsor Pink & Main. I die cut the cute cardinal using a circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} from our lovely Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. I also die cut a mat from red card stock using the next largest die in the set. And I die cut a card front of white card stock using the Fancy Lattice Backdrop die from our sweet Sponsor Lawn Fawn.

As always, I used the fabulous Pressure Pal from our awesome Sponsor Twiddler's Nook when I stamped the sweet bird. I also used it when I heat embossed the sentiment. I prepped the red card stock using the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool from our fabulous Sponsor Taylored Expressions. And then I stamped the sentiment using the Sugar Cube White Pigment ink also from Taylored Expressions. I added Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe and then melted the powder with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool.

I colored up the bird using my Copic markers and then adhered the circles. I adhered the trimmed sentiment to the circles and then added a bunch of 3D Foam Squares from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. To finish off the card, I added a few red rhinestones from the Rainbow Bling Rhinestones from our fabulous Sponsor Gina Marie Design. Love how this card turned out!

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used:

Cardinal: R20, R14, R46, Y35, E23, W0, W1, W3
Scarf: YG11, G24, G46
Candy Canes: R20, R14, R46, C00, C1

I hope you'll stop by the Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared! I've been inspired by so many of the cards! I sure hope you'll stop by and check it out! Have an ink-tastic day!

Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Nutty or Nice? ~ Lawn Fawn

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back again today to share my holiday card for day 4 of the Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party. I just adore the little scene card I created to share! The adorable squirrels and snowman come from the Nutty or Nice? Stamp Set that was a collaboration set from our wonderful sponsor Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp for the 2018 STAMPtember celebration.

I paired them up with the beautiful A Shabby Christmas 6x6 paper pad from our awesome sponsor Not 2 Shabby. I die cut the red glittery paper using the largest die from the Large Cross-Stitched Rectangle Stackables die from Lawn Fawn. I also die cut a little snowy hill for my inner layer using a die from the Stitched Hillside Borders dies from Lawn Fawn, as well.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up these cuties:

Snowman: C00, C1, C3
Hat: N0, N1, N3, N5, R00, R20
Scarf: R00, R20
Squirrels: E21, E23, E25
Squirrel Hat: R20, R14
Squirrel Scarf: YG11, G24
Carrot Nose: YR21, YR15

I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut two fishtails for both end, mat it with a scrap of the glitter paper, and adhered it to the card. All of my layers are adhered using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. I did add a couple scraps of card stock underneath the snowman's head so that it would lay flat on the card.

Inspiration for my card came from this month's {BYSHC} Sketch #44. I love the simplicity of this sketch but really the possibilities are endless!

I can't believe that we're halfway through the linky party already! Stop by the Spring into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared!!

Merry Christmas Card ~ Happy Winter ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm wrapping up my guest designing for the month of November for the The Greeting Farm!! This month has seriously flown by! I have a fun holiday card featuring the adorable Happy Winter Digi Set! If you missed my first card as a guest designer for The Greeting Farm, you can check it out here... Fairy Anya. And if you missed seeing my second card for TGF, you can check it out here... Angel Anya.

I had so much fun building a scene for my fairy card earlier this month that I wanted to play some more with my digi stamps. I just happened to get the new Happy Winter Digi Set so I thought this was a perfect opportunity to play. I combined and resized all the digis into a Word Document. I like to play with sizing and then print off a quick draft {an option on my printer to print with less ink} on copy paper. Then I'm able to see if the sizing is right. This one took me a few tries... I had originally had a larger snowman but he just wasn't going to fit without eliminating a tree and I like the balance of the trees on either side of the house so I opted for a tiny snowman. I like to think the kids built him from some of the snowballs.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Skin / Mouth: E000, E00, E11; R00, R20
Anya's Hair / Ian's Hair: E21, E23; E21, E23, E27
Anya's Clothes: BG70, BG72, BG75, R20, R14, R46, C00, C1
Ian's Clothes: BV20 BV34, BV17, C00, C1, C3
Snow: B000, B60, C00
Snowman Nose: YR15
Snowman Hat / Scarf: R20, R14
Trees: G24, G46
House: Y00, Y11, YR30, YR31, YR24, E74, E77, N0, N1, N3, N5
Sky: B0000, B000

The panel was die cut with the Large Cross-Stitched Rectangle Stackables die from Lawn Fawn. I mat it with a 3-3/8 x 4-5/8" piece of Smokey Shadow card stock from Papertrey Ink. Before I started coloring I found some cute pattern papers in my stash.... the Snowfall Collection from Authentique. I cut two of the papers and adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base. I also cut a 1/8" strip of the Smokey Shadow card stock to adhere as a border between the pattern papers. I used a scrap of the Smokey Shadow card stock to heat emboss my sentiment from the adorable Gingerbread Christmas stamp set. I like to heat emboss with a white pigment ink and white embossing powder. It gives a nice bright white that really pops. Especially on darker card stock. I used the Sugar Cube pigment ink from Taylored Expressions with Alabaster White Embossing powder from Brutus Monroe and I melted the ep with a Wagner Precision Heat tool.

I adhered the sentiment at the bottom of the panel, added a bunch of foam tape to the back of the panel and the sentiment, and then I popped it up on the card. I hope I've inspired you to get inky and have some fun with your digi stamps and papers!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Freaking Cold ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back for day 4 of the Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party. I'm so excited to share my card today because I got to play with a super cool stencil from our Brand New Sponsor A Colorful Life Designs AND I paired it up with one of my new Winter faves from return Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. called Freaking Cold!!

I actually started this card with the beautiful Angie Girl illustrated by the super talented Angie Blom {another one of our sweet sponsors!}. I stamped her with Black Amalgam ink from Sponsor Gina K. Designs. I love this ink and use it all the time with my Unity stamps. It's wonderful with Copics and with watercolors so I don't have to worry about grabbing the wrong ink. Which reminds me I should watercolor... I'm trying to watercolor at least once a month.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this beauty:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04, R000, RV10
Hair ~ E21, E23, E27, E29
Nails ~ R20, R14
Hat ~ YG11, G24, G46, C00, C3
Sweater ~ R000, RV10, R20, R14, YG11, G24, G46
Mug ~ BG000, BG32, BG18, E21, E23
Jewelry ~ C00, C3, BG32, BG72

Now for my wonderful background. I ink blended Evergreen Bough and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks using the awesome TE Blender Brushes from Sponsor Taylored Expressions over the awesome Snowflake Net stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. You have GOTTA stop by their website and check out ALL the amazing stencils. It was so hard for me to narrow down my picks but I definitely filled up my wishlist for another order!! Anywho, back to my card... I splattered the background with water, white acrylic paint and some Liquid Pixie Dust from Inkon3. I think the glitter is the most noticeable but I love all the textures from the splatters.

I trimmed down the background panel to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8". I didn't want to cut off too much but I did want a white border around the edges. I die cut a couple stitched hills using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies from Sponsor Lawn Fawn. I adhered the layers sandwiching the bottom of the girl between the layers and then adhered them to my stenciled background. I trimmed off the excess hills from all three sides of the background and adhered the background to a white A2 top fold card base. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment using the two distress oxide inks.

I can't believe that we're halfway through the linky party already! Stop by Unity and check out all their wonderful Christmas and Winter stamps... they are 50% OFF right now with code BYHSpromo. I hope that you'll also stop by the Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Christmas Mice ~ Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's day 3 of the Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!! I'm excited to bring you another sweet card that I've made to add to my Christmas stash! This time I played with the super cute Christmas Mice Digital Stamp from our Brand New Sponsor Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps!! I just adore Rachelle Anne Miller's cute digital stamps!! And she has wonderful bundles on her website too... including a few Christmas bundles! Eeep! You've got to check it out.

Aren't the Christmas Mice just so adorable?! They were so fun to color too. I actually paired them up with a sentiment from our return Sponsor Angie Blom Digital Designs. The sentiment that came with the sweet mice wasn't quite what I wanted for my mini slimline card so I cropped the image in a Word document and inserted a cute sentiment from the Let's Be Merry Digital Stamp set.

I die cut the sentiment using the largest die from the Wonky Mini Slimline dies from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs being sure that the sentiment was close to the left side of the die and there was enough room for the cute mice that I cut out with the second largest circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this cute digi stamp:

Mice ~ N0, N2, N4, R00, R20
Jacket ~ BG11, BG32, BG72, R20, R14, R27
Skirt / Bow ~ R20, R14, R27
Tree ~ G000, YG11, G24, G46
Star Topper ~ Y11, Y06, Y15, Y35
Candle ~ Y11, Y06, Y15, Y35
Stand ~ BG000, BG72, C00, C1, C3
Ground ~ C00, C1, C3

I paired up this cute image with the beautiful Knit Picky Winter 6x6 petite paper pack from Return Sponsor Lawn Fawn! I love that I could use products from five of our wonderful Sponsors on one card! Makes my heart happy! To finish off the card I used three enamel dots from the Peacock Clear with Color enamel dots from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs. They aren't Christmassy but they were the perfect green enamel dots with the tree and the papers in the background.

Before you leave, be sure to stop by Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps... as I mentioned above she has the sweetest stamps and she has amazing bundles so you can purchase more than one set for a great price! Woohoo!! And if you haven't already, stop by the Spring into Christmas 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared!! I have really been enjoying the cards being shared so far!
