Yummy Mini Slimline ~ Love And A Fabulous Cupcake ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a quick and yummy mini slimline for a last minute Valentine's Day card! I used the sweet Love And A Fabulous Cupcake digi stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard for this yummy card.

I started by combining and resizing the digi stamps in this set in a Word Document. When I plan to make a mini slimline I usually turn my images sideways and keep them at the top of the document. I do this for two reasons... first, to keep the images at either end of the paper so I'm not wasting a full sheet of card stock printing it off. And second, so that I can use the rulers that are available in Word to help me get the size just right.

I die cut the image with the beautiful Pleated Lace Mini Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. And then I got to coloring with the following Copic markers:

Cherry Heart ~ RV0000, RV21, RV14, E21, E23, E25
Icing ~ C00, C2, C3
Cupcake Liners ~ BG0000, BG23, BV0000, BV02, RV0000, RV21, RV14
Grounding ~ C00, C3

I kept this card very simple and just adhered the die cut and colored panel to a pink mini slimline card base measuring 6-1/2 x 7"; scored at 3-1/2". Done... a quick and easy Valentine's Day card!

Here's a look at the cute Love And A Fabulous Cupcake digi stamp set!! Love it! Stop by Polka Dot Orchard to see all the fun Love Day digi stamps! These are great for all those last minute Valentine's Day cards!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 17 ~ Extra Sweet Christmas ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge for the month of December... today's card features a sweet new digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard called Extra Sweet Christmas!!

What do you think?! Pretty cute, right? I created the background by first ink smooshing Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks on a piece of white card stock. I made sure to dry it completely with my heat tool and then I printed the resized background digital snowflakes stamp on the ink smooshed background.

I trimmed the background to 3-11/16 x 4-13/16"and mat it on a 3-7/8 x 5" piece of Real Red card stock. I mat it again on a 4 x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green card stock and then adhered it to a Real Red card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2".

I used a leftover piece of the ink smooshed background for my angled strip and adhered it to the background. I used a 1/2" scrap of Garden Green card stock across the background and to cover up where those two pieces meet, I added a skinny strip of Real Red card stock that's 1/8" wide.

Now for the plate of cookies... does it look like a plate of cookies to you? That's what I was going for... I sure hope it does. I resized the snowflakes from the digital stamp set in different sizes and placed them in kind of a circular formation. And then I printed them off. I colored the snowflakes very simply with R14 and R20 Copic Markers. I die cut the snowflakes with two stitched circle dies and colored the edges with C00 and C2 Copic Markers. I die cut an extra outer piece to adhere under the colored piece so it looked a bit more like a plate. I die cut the larger circle one more time and cut it to be a bit smaller so I could adhere my plate layers to it. I then adhered the plate to my card.

I combined and resized the Christmas tree cookies in a Microsoft Word Document. I printed them off along with the sentiment. Time to color! I used the following Copic Markers...

Cookie base ~ E30, E33
Green icing ~ YG11, G14, G24
Stars ~ Y06, Y15
Red & White Candy Garland ~ C00, C2, R14, R20
Red Swirly Garland ~ R14, R20

The sentiment is just trimmed and then adhered to the card... easy peasy!

Here's a look at Sketch 17... join us in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group for inspiration and fun!

Wishing You a Cozy Day ~ Cozy Kind of Day ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
I mentioned the other day that Polka Dot Orchard had just released a bunch of caffeinated goodness and I just couldn't help but play with this sweet new digi set by Jeanie Hays called Cozy Kind of Day! I am mad about plaid and the thermos in this cute digi stamp set are just so fun to play with!

Now since this is a digital stamp set, I blended my background with my inks before I printed them. I blended Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks on one half of my white card stock.

I then combined and resized the digital stamps in a Word Document, organizing them so that the thermos background would print first onto my ink blended background.

The line of thermos and sentiment printed on the bottom half of my card stock. I cut my card stock in half and got to coloring up the thermos very simply with my Copic markers.

Here's the list of Copic markers I used:

Thermos 1 ~ N0, N1, N3, R14, R20, R27
Thermos 2 ~ R14, R20, R27, N0, N1, N3, N6
Thermos 3 ~ N0, N1, N3
Thermos 4 ~ N0, N1, N3, N6
Grounding ~ N0, N1, N2

I die cut the background and the copic colored thermos with dies from the Big & Little Chain Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. I mat my layers on Real Red and True Black card stock and then adhered them all onto a white A2 top fold card base.

Here's a look at the cute Cozy Kind of Day digi stamp set!! Love it! Stop by Polka Dot Orchard to see all the new fun digi stamps that were released! All so fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Feeds My Soul ~ Soul Coffee ~ Polka Dot Orchard

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing another card for the Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Hop using a fun sketchy new release that I illustrated for Polka Dot Orchard called Soul Coffee. Speaking of new releases, Polka Dot Orchard has a whole bunch of new awesome coffee themed digital stamps and even some amazing new coasters! If you have a minute you should definitely stop by the shop and check it out.

I started by resizing the Soul Coffee image and sentiment in a Word Document and printed them off. I really love this sentiment and it's SO true! LOL

I trimmed a piece of pattern paper from the My Favorite Fall paper pack by Echo Park Paper Co.  and adhered it to the bottom of a Kraft A2 top fold card base. I used a cute x stitch die from My Favorite Things called Basic Stitch Lines dies for the pretty stitched design above the paper.

I set the card aside and colored up the cup with the following Copic markers:

Coffee ~ E21, E23, E25
Steam ~ N0, N2, Colorless Blender
Cup ~ BG11, BG23, YR15, YR21, YR68
Saucer ~ YR15, YR21, YR68

I fussy cut the cup and trimmed the sentiment and adhered both to the card. A simple but pretty Fall inspired coffee card!

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another fun slimline card using a beautiful digi stamp from Polka Dot Orchard called You Make Me Happy digi stamp set!! I love sunflowers! They are one of my favorite flowers and this one is so beautiful!! I just love it!

I kept this pretty card CAS with just a bit of copic coloring and a simple black mat. First I resized the images in a Word document and print them off on a piece of card stock. I then die cut the image with a Scalloped Stitched Slimline die from Gina Marie Design.

And then I colored up this beautiful image with the following Copic markers:

Water ~ B000, B00
Jar ~ BV0000, BV00, BV11
Leaves ~ YG11, YG63, YG67
Sunflower ~ Y06, Y15, Y35, E21, E25
Grounding ~ N0, N2

I wrapped the top left and bottom right corners with some May Arts Black Burlap string. I adhered the die cut and colored image to a piece of True Black card stock measuring 3-1/2 x 8-1/2" and then adhered it to a white slimline card base measuring 7 x 8-1/2", scored at 3-1/2". I just love how this turned out... I really love how the jar turned out!

Happy Camping Slimline Card ~ Happy Camper ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a super quick slimline card that I made using the sweet Happy Camper {Say It Slim} digi stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard! I just love the {Say It Slim} line of digital stamps that Polka Dot Orchard has to offer and even though I'm more of a glamper I thought it would be fun to play with the Happy Camper {Say It Slim} digi stamp set!

My favorite technique when wanting to ink blend a background for a digital stamp image is to actually do my ink blending first. For this card I ink blended just Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed over about 1/3 of a piece of card stock and then I dried it with my Mini Wagner heat tool.

I printed the Happy Camper {Say It Slim} digi stamp on my ink blended card stock and die cut it with the Stitched Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. I also die cut a piece of Kraft card stock. I trimmed the two ends of the ink blended background and adhered it to the die cut Kraft card stock. I wrapped a little May Arts Black burlap string around each end and adhering the top string with tape and then tying a little bow for the bottom string.

I adhered my focal piece to a True Black card base measuring 7 x 6-1/2", scored at 3-1/2". Now, here is where I goofed up my card just a bit... I added some Nuvo Black Board Vintage drops and for some reason my drops spit on my card. I used my palette knife to get some of it up but it smudged the printer ink when I tried to wipe the rest up with a paper towel. I decided to go with it and redid my drop making it a bit bigger to cover up the smudge. I think it still looks nice. It was definitely a quick card to make though... I think this quick design would work great with any of the {Say It Slim} digi stamps!!

Here's a look at the cute Happy Camper {Say It Slim} digi stamp set... isn't it just perfect for slimline cards?! Plus it has all those little extra digi stamps! I love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Christmas in July 2021 {BYSHC} Hop ~ Magic of Christmas ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm actually sharing two cards for the Christmas in July 2021 {BYSHC} Hop!! I'm using the first digi stamp that I illustrated for Sponsor Polka Dot Orchard called Magic of Christmas! This digi stamp set is near and dear to my heart since it's the first one I ever made, but also because it's Christmas! Christmas makes me happy and playing with this fun digi stamp set makes me happy. Let's check out the cards I made.

My first card features the adorable Santa's bag filled with gifts... I paired it up with paper from the Santa's Workshop paper pad by Carta Bella. I used colors from the papers to color up the image. Here's a list of the Copic markers I used:

Bag ~ R000, R14, R46, R89, Y06, Y15, Y35, Y38
Bear ~ E21, E23, E25, E51, R01, R20
Polka Dot Gift ~ R000, R14, R46, Y06, Y15
Blue Gift ~ B0000, B00, B91, Y06, Y15, Y35
Book ~ G24, G46, E23, E51, B0000, B00
Silver Gift ~ G24, G46, N0, N1, N3
Ground ~ N0, N1, N3

I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die with rounded corners. I adhered it to the pattern paper and finished off the card with some beautiful Green Flat Back Rhinestones from Sponsor Twiddler's Nook. Loving these pretty rhinestones!

My second card using the Magic of Christmas digi stamp set from Sponsor Polka Dot Orchard features Santa belt. A super simple card with a bit of coloring... I hadn't planned on going so big with the sentiment, but had to cover a booboo when the original sentiments got colored in too much. I used the following Copic markers for this card:

Belt ~ N1, N3, N5, N7
Belt Buckle ~ Y06, Y15, Y28, Y35, Y38
Background ~ R000, R01, R14, R20

I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a card front of black card stock. I finished off this card with a few of the white clay snowflakes from the Happy Feet Embellishment Mix by Sponsor Twiddler's Nook! Even though I had to go bigger with the sentiment, I still like how it turned out.

I'm having a giveaway during the hop... to enter you just need to comment on my blog posts each day during the hop! Each comment {one per blog post, please} will get your name in a hat and my daughter will pick a winner. Winner will be announced here on my blog Sunday, August 1st.

Happy Birthday Sugar ~ Birthday Beats ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing a fun birthday card I made for my daughter's birthday using the awesome Birthday Beats digi stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard!! The cute sentiment is from the Fine and Dandy Cotton Candy digi stamp set, also from Polka Dot Orchard!!

These two images were absolutely perfect for my daughter's card! She is always chewing gum and blowing bubbles, she wears a fun white Fedora that her Grammy bought her when she was 2 years old and she always has her headphones on {though her purple ones broke and now she has black, but still}. I also call her Sugar so... perfection!!

I combined the two digi stamps in a Word Document and resized them to fit in a mini slimline card. I die cut the image with the Big Little Chain Mini Slimline dies from Gina Marie Design. I ink blended Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks and then die cut that too with a slightly larger die. I adhered the ink blended background to a 6-1/2 x 3-1/2" white mini slimline card base. I popped up the main panel with foam tape.

Here's a look at the awesome Birthday Beats digi stamp set.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up these images:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ E01, E08, E18
Hat ~C00,  C2
Gum ~ RV0000, RV52
Sunglasses ~ N1, N6, RV06, RV10, RV21
Headphones ~ V04, V09, V12, V17
Clothes ~ RV06
Happy ~ RV0000, RV10
Birthday ~ RV10, RV21
Sugar ~ RV06, RV21

Happiness Is ~ A Good Book ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
I had so much fun the other creating a scene card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge that I just HAD to make another one!! This time I used the adorable A Good Book digi stamp from Polka Dot Orchard. Such a cute gnome reading under a mushroom... doesn't she look so happy!

I resized and combined the image along with the sentiment in a Word document and then print them off. I die cut the image with a stitched circle die because I already had this card design in mind. I trimmed the sentiment and set it aside. I colored the scene with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ YR14, YR15, YR16, YR21
Hat ~ B0000, B000, B00, B02
Dress ~ Y00, Y02, Y15, Y35
Shoes ~ E51, E55, E57
Book ~ R14, R27, C2
Mushroom ~ W00, W1, W3, R14, R27, R46
Sky ~ B0000, B000, B00

Now the sun and the clouds I had colored awhile ago and I didn't write the markers down for those sadly. I would guess the clouds are B00 and B0000; and the sun probably the same yellows I used for the gnome's dress ~ Y00, Y02, Y15, Y35. But I'm not totally sure. The sun and clouds are from the Rain or Shine digi stamp set also available at Polka Dot Orchard. The tree papers are from the Pink Lemonade paper pack from The Paper Studio. I trimmed a few strips of black card stock and Chocolate Chip card stock to adhere above and below the patterned paper. I added a bit of color to the sentiment using a mix of the Copic markers I listed above. I adhered the sun, clouds, and sentiment to the focal piece using Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue and then popped up the entire piece with foam tape.

Here's a look at the fun A Good Book digi stamp set.

Here's one more look at the card and I'm linking up my card to the following challenges:

A Lovely Place ~ Between the Pages ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a card using one of the illustrations that I made for Polka Dot Orchard called Between the Pages. I am a book worm... it's true! Though I listen to audiobooks more often now than actually flipping through the pages of an actual book, I love stamps with anything book related! This digi stamp is so fun to color and create a quick scene with.

I resized the digi stamp in a Word document along with the sentiment and print it off. I trimmed the sentiment and set it aside. I colored up the scene with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00
Hair ~ E51, E53, E55
Clothes ~ V000, V06, V20, YG03, G24
Book ~ W00, W1, W2, W4
Trees ~ YG03, YG11, YG63
Mountains ~ YG93, YG97, G94, C00, C1
Sun ~  Y000, Y11, Y15
Sky ~ YR01, YR82, R21, RV93, V20, B0000, B000, B91

I ran a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4" piece of kraft card stock through my Big Shot with the Inspiration Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink. I then ran a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock through my Big Shot with the Linen/Canvas Impression Plate. I adhered the two pieces together and adhered them to a kraft A2 side fold card base. I die cut the colored scene with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a 4 x 3-1/8" piece of kraft card stock. I then tore a strip of kraft card stock and trimmed it to fit on the side of the colored scene. I used my 1/16" hole punch to make three holes along the side and added the Antique Brass brads from Stampin' Up. I mat the sentiment on a scrap of Mossy Meadow card stock. I adhered the sentiment to the bottom portion of the colored scene and then popped up the entire piece with foam tape. I just love how this turned out. I hope you do too!

Hello Sunshine ~ Pool Hair Days ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hey there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit of sunshine with the fun Pool Hair Days digi stamp from Polka Dot Orchard! I am loving this beautiful summer inspired digi stamp set! Paired up with a fun summer color combo and it's perfect!! It doesn't hurt that the Mojo Monday sketch is a fun slimline sketch... I couldn't resist using it!

So fun & cheerful! It just makes me smile to look at it!
I started by preparing my background which is actually the piece I cut off of the full white sheet of card stock when I cut the slimline base of 7 x 8-1/2". I scored the base a 3-1/2" and set it aside. I was left with a 4 x 8-1/2" piece of white card stock to blend my background on.

I used the Cloud & Wave stencil from Unity Stamp Co. and blended Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade over the stencil that I had to reposition with each color to cover the whole background piece. The pattern in the waves is repetitive though so it was easy to line up the stencil and blend the next color. I started at the bottom and blended my way up to the top.

Once I was happy with my blending, I set the background aside to dry and print off my digi stamps to color. I combined and resized both images and the sentiment on one Word document. I knew the approximate measurements I wanted to work with since the sketch I used had dimensions listed on it.

All that was left was to color them up with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ E00, E13, E21
Bikini ~ YR12, YR15, YR20
Flip Flop Floatie ~ RV10, RV52, RV63, Y06, Y15, Y35
Pineapple Cup ~ Y06, Y15, Y35, E55
Umbrella ~ Y06, Y18, Y35, RV10, RV52, RV63, YR12, YR15, YR20
Grounding / Outline ~ E33, E37, B0000, B000

Here's a look at the fun Mojo Monday 560 Slimline Edition sketch that I used... isn't it fun?!

And one more look at the card in whole... doesn't it just make you smile?! I love it!

Here's a look at all the fun digi stamps included in the Pool Hair Days digi stamp set!!
Polka Dot Orchard has some great new digi stamps in stock... but they also have over 200 fabulous digi stamps in the shop!! So many fun and fabulous designs to play with! Stop by and check them out!
