Scrapping for Less ~ November 2020 FOTM Card Kit ~ A Little Inspiration

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a little more inspiration using the November 2020 FOTM Card Kit Simply Sentimental. I had a fun idea for a quick card while creating my cards for the hop and reveal so I gave it a quick try... Loved it!! So I decided to make three more cards using the same techniques and they really were quick!

My first original card... I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of Pink Lemonade card stock. I inked up the de-bossed side {the side that indents) of the Hearts Embossing folder with Sweet Blush dye ink from Papertrey Ink. I then ran the embossing folder through my big shot... now when I did this the card stock jumped a bit {my plate is really bowed in the center... I keep flipping it over but I think it's time to replace the plate} and that's why the bottom portion of the card looks blurry... almost 3D.

Anywho, I do love the texture that this technique gives to the card!! I trimmed down the card front to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a Kraft card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I then wrapped the card front with the beautiful ribbon that I received in the Banana Split goodies! With a separate piece of ribbon I tied a bow and I adhered it with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from the Thanks So Much stamp set found in Collection Two with Classic Kraft ink from Papertrey Ink. I masked the little heart in the sentiment... I thought it would be fun to use a little heart punch from my stash to add a little interest to the sentiment. I finished off this card with a few sequins, also from the Banana Split subscription.

My second card... I used the very same technique for this card and the next two. For this one I used Picket Fence Distress Ink in the embossing folder and the Razzleberry card stock from the card kit.

I also used Raspberry Fizz dye ink from Papertrey Ink to darken the raised hearts and also for the heart at the end of the sentiment.

For card #3... I used Mint Julep dye ink. Isn't it beautiful!

This one just might be my favorite of them all!

And the last card... I used Melon Berry dye ink. It has almost a wood grain feel for this one with the colors and also the texture in the background.

And I changed things up with this one and used a different thank you sentiment from the same stamp set. I like how it changes up the design of the card.

I do have a video sharing the process in making the last three cards and finishing up the first card with the sentiment. You can check that out... here!

A look at all four cards! Which one is your favorite?! I'd love to know... if you have a minute, please share in the comments. Well, that's it for me this time!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

This card kit is seriously sentimental... and fabulous!!!

I had a blast creating my cards to share with you all... let's check them out!

Collection One: Puppy Paws
How adorable is this sweet puppers?! Oh my goodness... with this sweet stamp plus all the adorable papers in the Puppy Paws papers you just can't help but smile when you see them. I couldn't wait to play with this collection. I used the first sketch in the November 2020 Sketch Sheet and really this card was quick! I used the following Copic markers for the pup:
Fur ~ W00, W1, W2, W4
Tongue ~ R00, R14
Nose ~ N0, N1, N4
Paws ~ R00, W1, W2

Collection Two: Thanks So Much
The papers in this collection are absolutely gorgeous!! I just had to feature the beautiful floral paper for this card... I love it! I stamped the sentiment with Sweet Blush ink on white card stock and ended up having to trim the left side to fit in the angle there. I would definitely recommend adhering your sentiment first... lol. Hindsight and all that, am I right?

Collection Three: Family Ties
So... I was instantly drawn to the gray and teal papers in the Family Ties paper pack! Amazing!!! I paired them up with the dark grey card stock... love this card!  I used a corner rounder on the two top corners and a stitched hillside die on the teal flower papers. I stamped the sentiment with Weathervane ink and die cut it with a circle die. I then mat it with a scalloped circle cut from the same dark grey card stock. Love love love this card!

Collection Four: Wildflowers
And another collection with beautiful aqua colors in the paper!!! Be still my heart!! Of course, I paired it up with the kraft card stock in the kit. I used Classic Kraft ink for this card from Papertrey Ink and colored the flowers very simply with BG10 and BG23. Love the fabulous ephemera pieces in this collection! They make for such a quick card! I used this fantastic collection for my sneak peek. If you missed it you can check it out here... Sneak Peek card!!

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Teresa!!

Here's a quick look at the October 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Christmas is Covered...

Banana Split Subscription...

Ohhh... the Christmas kit is always my favorite and this one is amazing!

Let's get to the cards!!

Collection One: Classic Cardinals
I used two pretty patterned papers for my background on this card. I stamped the focal image using Memento Tuxedo black ink on white card stock that I die cut with the Tag Die included in the Banana Split subscription. I will be using this Tag Die a lot! I love it! I popped up the tag with foam squares and added a little red bow and a couple enamel dots to finish this one off. I also made my Sneak Peek with this collection, you can check that out here if you missed it.

I used the following copic markers for this card:

Bird ~ R00, R14, R46, W2 W5, C1, C2
Holly ~ YG11, G24, G94
Berries ~ R00, R14, R46

Collection Two: Starry Night Wishes
I love snowmen... and this one is dear to my heart since I illustrated him for this kit. I think he turned out pretty cute! I knew I had to use him for this sketch... it's actually a sneak peek of our new November Sketch Challenge in the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group. I hope you'll come check out our challenge and play along!

I used the following copic markers for this card:

Snowman ~ C00, C2
Hat, Glove & Scarf ~ B28, B41
Nose ~ YR15, YR21, YR68
Arm ~ E55, E57
Stars ~ Y000, Y06, Y35
Sky ~ B0000

Collection Three: Merry Special Delivery
The rustic papers in this collection are amazing!! I love the gray kraft color along with white and red... so beautiful! I blended some Candied Apple, Barn Door, and Black Soot over the star on the Christmas Elements Stencil that's included in the Banana Split subscription. I can see this star in so many fun colors... love it!

I stamped the little sentiment from the Merry Special Delivery stamp set using markers to ink it up... Real Red, Wild Wasabi, and Memento Tuxedo black. I finished off this card with a couple red enamel dots.

This collection also includes a couple white tags and I made these very simple... I just stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink and added a little strip of patterned paper to the bottom. And finished off the pretty ribbon for the tops.

Collection Four: Believe
The ephemera pieces in this collection are almost too cute... I almost want to just hoard them!! I love the sweet Santa! I did decide to use one for my card. I love the sentiments in the Believe stamp set too! So fun! I ended up using both on my card and adding a red enamel dot for the reindeer nose off of the 'v'. I wish I had thought to add some sparkle to the snowflake... but I still might do that!

I do have a video for this card on my YouTube channel... you can check that out here.

Here's a quick look at all the cards, plus the two tags that I created.

That's it for me this time.

Scrapping for Less ~ Quick Cards ~ Orchards & Patches Card Kit

Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with another look at the beautiful September 2020 FOTM Card Kit called Orchards & Patches... I'm using the adorable Apple Orchard Pickin' paper pad along with one of the sketches from the September 2020 Sketch Sheet
for a few quick cards!

I've used the cute Cut-Aparts from the Apple Orchard Pickin' paper pad to create these sweet Fall inspired cards. I had to get creative with my layers as I was running out of card stock from my card kit leftovers. I share a trick for when that happens in my process video... you can check that out below.

Here's a close up look of my cards...

Scrapping for Less ~ Sketch Challenge #8 ~ September 2020 FOTM Orchards & Patches Card Kit

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing the October challenge for the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group! This month's challenge is another sketch challenge. We had such a great turn out for our last slimline sketch challenge that I thought we'd give it another try!

Before we get to the sketch and the card that I'm sharing today... the key to playing along with the challenge is being a member of the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group so if you aren't already a member be sure to join in the fun ---> here. Also, please note that you don't need a blog to enter the challenge as you're adding a photo of your creation directly into the challenge album in the group. You are welcome to include a link to your blog in the description of your creation, if you'd like.

Alrighty... let's have a look at the sketch for challenge #8...

You may remember seeing a sneak peek or two of this sketch during our reveal and hop for the new September 2020 FOTM Card Kit - Orchards & Patches... if you haven't hopped with us yet , you can start hopping ---> here. Now, let's check out the card I created as inspiration for the sketch...

A cute slimline featuring the adorable gnome from Collection Two: Apple Orchard Pickin'... isn't he just the cutest?! I used the sweet Harvest Time Stencil included in the Banana Split subscription... blending some Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks over the sunflower one at a time. I cut my slimline card front measuring 3-1/2 x 8-1/2" from Speckled Orange card stock and adhered it to a white slimline card base measuring 7 x 8-1/2" and scored at 3-1/2". I trimmed down my sunflower background to 3-1/4 x 8-1/4" and used a corner rounder punch on all four corners. I adhered the background to my card base and cut a 3/4" strip of Jellybean Green card stock and stamped the Happy Fall sentiment masking each of the words separately so I could stamp the sentiments next to each other. I stamped them with Clear Embossing ink and heat embossed a fine white embossing powder. I adhered the green sentiment strip to the card base and set it aside.

I stamped the adorable Apple Gnome stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with the following Copic Markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Beard ~ C00, C1
Hat ~ E51, E55

I stamped the hat of the Apple Gnome onto a couple scrap pieces of patterned paper from the collection and fussy cut them out and adhered them to the hat. I then fussy cut the gnome... also cutting off portion of the apple on his hat... and adhered him to a white die cut circle. I fussy cut the cute little sunflower and leaf from a piece of the patterned paper and adhered them to the gnome's hat. I adhered the circle to a scalloped circle that I die cut from the Speckled Orange card stock. I popped up the focal image on the card with foam squares. To finish off the card, I added a few of the tiny sequins from the Banana Split subscription all around the card. I think it turned out pretty cute!

The October Sketch challenge will run from today, October 1st and will end October 31st at 11:59pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the comments of the Challenge album on Sunday November 1st. Please use #sflsketchchallenge8 in any social media posts when playing along with the challenge.

Scrapping for Less ~ September 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Orchards and Patches

Fall is here! Let's take a trip to the Apple Orchard or maybe you want to go to the Pumpkin Patch! A little story about pumpkin patches... I started scrapbooking when our first grandchild was born. And boy did I love documenting everything about his growth. When he was 3 I wanted to take him to a pumpkin patch for the sole purpose of being able to do a photo shoot there and as a result create a scrapbook page. So whether you scrapbook or make cards, make sure you enjoy the fall weather and do something fun! Our Guest and Design Team has some fabulous projects to share with the September kit "Orchards and Patches." Please visit Scrapping for Less to get your kit. Also enter the Rafflecopter on the SFL blog post for a chance to win a prize! ~ Teresa, {SFL Owner}

So... what do you think?! Isn't it just gorgeous?! I love it!
I had a blast creating four cards to share with you all... let's get to it!

Collection One: Sweet Sunflower Patch
I masked this gorgeous stamp and stamped the flower and sentiment separate to create this beautiful card. Sunflowers are my second favorite flower and I always enjoy coloring them! I used the following Copic markers to color these images ~ Y000, Y02, Y13, Y35, YR24, YR27, E25, E29.

I adhered the beautiful trimmed panels to Nightshift Blue mats measuring 1-1/2 x 3". I then adhered the pretty paper to a Nightshift Blue mat measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I adhered the panel to a Lemon Drop card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and then adhered the trio of panels to the card front. I wrapped the card front with the beautiful white organza ribbon and tied a faux bow ~ which is basically a knot. And then I adhered the entire card front to a white A2 top-fold card base.

Collection Two: Apple Orchard Pickin'
How stinkin' cute is this adorable gnome?! Oh my goodness... he is just too cute! I couldn't wait to ink him up and color! I had fun mix matching the papers included in this collection to create my layers for this card. I used the first sketch included in the September 2020 Sketch Sheet... but added a second circle for the sentiment. And I paper pieced his hat with the green with white polka dot papers.

I used the following Copic markers for this card:
Nose ~ E000, E00, E11
Beard ~ C00, C1, C3
Hat ~ YG11, YG23, R000, R14, R27
Grass ~ YG03, YG17
Outline ~ N1

Collection Three: Floral Patches
Another super cute image in the card kit this month... this Raggedy Ann scarecrow I've nicknamed Miss Patches. I had a so much fun doing a mix of copic coloring and paper piecing with this cute stamp! I also masked her to add the fence. Such a fun collection!

I used the following Copic Markers for this card:
Skin ~ E000, E01, E11
Nose/Eyes ~ YR15, R05, B000, B91, C1
Hair ~ Y02, Y11, Y15, Y35
Hat/Pocket ~ B000, B41, B91, B97, B99, R14, R46, R59, R89
Fence ~ E55, E57, E59
Grass ~ YG03, YG63, YG67, YG99
Sky ~ B0000

Collection Four: Pumpkin Patches and Harvest Wishes
If you saw my Sneak Peek from yesterday >>> Hello There Pumpkin <<< you shouldn't be too surprised to see that I have the teal truck featured on my card again! I couldn't help but use that piece of ephemera! I added a scrap of the pumpkin paper behind the ephemera to make it a fun feature piece for my card. Now this cute slimline card is our sketch for October's Sketch Challenge so get your creative juices flowing and get ready to play along with another slimline sketch challenge!! Yay! I hope you're as excited as I am!

Anywho... back to my card. As you can see in the picture, there's a bunch of adorable ephemera pieces in this collection. I chose to feature a sentiment and frame for my card. I wanted to showcase the Speckled Orange card stock that's in the background {and such a cool card stock!!} but also break it up and share another fun paper from the card kit. So I cut a strip of the striped paper and mat it with Nightshift Blue card stock. I adhered a long 3/4" strip of Wild Cherry card stock underneath and then popped up the ephemera pieces with foam squares. I finished up this last card with a few enamel dots from the collection.

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Christine!
