Membership Wednesday ~ April 2023 WK ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hey there crafty friend!
Sharing a few super quick cards for Membership Wednesday using a couple products from the fabulous April 2023 Whit Kit from Unity Stamp Co. Sometimes you just need a thank you card and I had a fun idea for a quick card. I really love how these turned out and they took me maybe 30 minutes {including designing time} - so not bad, at all!

I chose a few of the pretty alcohol papers from the Rainbow Alcohol Ink Paper Pack that included in the kit. I trimmed them to 3-3/4 x 4-1/4" and adhered them to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card front of black card stock.

And then I adhered each card front to a white A2 top fold card base measuring 4-1/4 x 11"; scored at 5-1/2". I prefer a white card base but you could easily do a black card base and add a white insert inside the card for writing on.

I set the card bases aside and die cut three Thanks dies from black card stock using the solid Thanks die. I then die cut the other Thanks die from the three different alcohol ink pattern papers.

I adhered the Thanks die cuts all together and then adhered them to the card bases being sure that the black mats touched the black bottom card stock. This gives it the appearance of the Thanks sentiment popping up from the black card stock. Love how these turned out!

Layered Mandala Thanks ~ Unity Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit of inspiration for the December Sketch Challenge over at the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group!! I couldn't wait to ink up the beautiful new Layered Mandala... there are SO many possibilities with this beautiful set!

A simple design using a kraft, white and light blue color palette.

I stamped the center and third layers together as they came in the kit with clear embossing ink and then melted Alabaster white embossing powder. Didn't realize the second layer in between wouldn't quite line up right... but I love the variation it gives to the pattern!

Love the font for the sentiment... I embossed it on the light blue card stock using clear embossing ink and Alabaster White embossing powder.

The white A2 top fold card base was stamped using the center layer with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

A simple thank you card with a hint of a wintry vibe... a perfect thank you for a holiday gift.

Here's a look at the December Unity Sketch! Please remember the sketch is meant to inspire, not require... have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you all create with this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

This card kit is seriously sentimental... and fabulous!!!

I had a blast creating my cards to share with you all... let's check them out!

Collection One: Puppy Paws
How adorable is this sweet puppers?! Oh my goodness... with this sweet stamp plus all the adorable papers in the Puppy Paws papers you just can't help but smile when you see them. I couldn't wait to play with this collection. I used the first sketch in the November 2020 Sketch Sheet and really this card was quick! I used the following Copic markers for the pup:
Fur ~ W00, W1, W2, W4
Tongue ~ R00, R14
Nose ~ N0, N1, N4
Paws ~ R00, W1, W2

Collection Two: Thanks So Much
The papers in this collection are absolutely gorgeous!! I just had to feature the beautiful floral paper for this card... I love it! I stamped the sentiment with Sweet Blush ink on white card stock and ended up having to trim the left side to fit in the angle there. I would definitely recommend adhering your sentiment first... lol. Hindsight and all that, am I right?

Collection Three: Family Ties
So... I was instantly drawn to the gray and teal papers in the Family Ties paper pack! Amazing!!! I paired them up with the dark grey card stock... love this card!  I used a corner rounder on the two top corners and a stitched hillside die on the teal flower papers. I stamped the sentiment with Weathervane ink and die cut it with a circle die. I then mat it with a scalloped circle cut from the same dark grey card stock. Love love love this card!

Collection Four: Wildflowers
And another collection with beautiful aqua colors in the paper!!! Be still my heart!! Of course, I paired it up with the kraft card stock in the kit. I used Classic Kraft ink for this card from Papertrey Ink and colored the flowers very simply with BG10 and BG23. Love the fabulous ephemera pieces in this collection! They make for such a quick card! I used this fantastic collection for my sneak peek. If you missed it you can check it out here... Sneak Peek card!!

That's it for me this time!

Next up in the hop is... Teresa!!

Scrapping For Less ~ Another Look at the Thanks Card die

Hello again! Today I have for you another fun card using the Thanks Card die from Concord and 9th. The design of this die makes it very versatile... just with a couple of snips here and there, you can use the die cut Thanks as a focal point in a whole other way.

I started my card with a piece of watercolor paper. I thought it would be fun to do some watercoloring with the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse so I dabbed a little bit on my palette and sprayed it down with water. I sprayed my watercolor paper just a bit so that the color would flow and then using my water pen I added some color to the paper.

Here's a close up view of the mousse - it gives such a beautiful shimmer. I love it! I set that aside and started to cut strips of card stock in blue greens or is it green blues?! Ha! I adhered those on a scrap of white card stock and used the dies to cut out the word Thanks. The shimmer on the watercolor paper made the letter look too plain so I decided to give them some glittery fun with some sparkle silk. I then wanted the letters to pop just a bit more so I die cut the Thanks one more time with white card stock and off set that layer underneath the ombre strips. I really love how it makes the letter pop! At this point I knew I needed just something else... so I walked away and thought about it. Isn't it funny how walking away from a project just for a little bit gives you a different perspective when you come back to it?! Well, I came back and just knew this card needed this fun flourish accent and a few sequins to finish it off.
