Anya In New York ~ Preview Day 1 ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's the first day of previews at The Greeting Farm! Woohoo! So exciting!

I created a fun background using stamps from the Anya in New York stamp set. I love how Anya pops on the black and white background. I die cut the background with an x stitched rectangle die.

I stamped sweet Anya with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored her up with Copic Markers. I fussy cut her and colored the edge of the fussy cutting with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. And then I popped her up on the card with foam tape. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R00, R20
Hair: YR23, YR27, R59
Shirt: C00, C1, R20, R14, R27
Skirt: B95, B97, B99
Shoes: R20, R14, R27
Bag: BG10, BG10, BG15
Cup: C00, C1, YG11, G24, G46

I stamped the skyscrapers, fussy cut them leaving a bit of a white border and adhered it to the black sentiment strip creating a bit of a scene.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white pigment ink and white embossing powder. I melted the powder with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. Love how this turned out! Release goes live in the store on the 15th at 12am EST.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Happy Halloween Trio ~ Eerie Enchantment ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a few fun Halloween cards! So excited to add three more Halloween cards to my stash! Woohoo! These three cards were SO super quick to make - it's bananas! All three cards feature stamps from the brand new Eerie Enchantment stamps from Unity!

I stamped the scarecrow, witch and grim using Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs and then I colored them up very simply with the following Copic markers: C00, C1, C3. I then die cut the witch using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. And I die cut the scarecrow and grim using a die from the Make A Tag {die set}.

Inspiration for my card today comes from the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 24. Such a versatile sketch! I love how quickly these cards came together! The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I hope you'll join us in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group and play along with the sketch!

I wanted to keep the cards simple and easy to duplicate. So a black and white palette was perfect! I went looking through my pattern papers and was surprised to find the perfect papers in the Mousin' Mix Up {paper pack}. Yay! Luckily I had two paper packs so I could make the backgrounds all the same.

I think this last card just may be my favorite! I love the tag turned upside down. I stamped the sentiment three times and trimmed them up and then adhered them to the cards. So much fun and again SO super quick! I hope you have an inkredible day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Masculine Birthday Card ~ Feline Funny ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I am loving the new kitty stamps that were just released over at Unity!! Have you seen them?! I created a fun card the other day using the new Kitten Kaleidoscope background stamp. I had a few leftover panels after die cutting the circles to make the fun eclipse card. Anywho, I used one of the leftover panel to create a punny masculine birthday card along with the super cute and punny Feline Funny!! Oh my gosh... do I LOVE this new cat!!

Now, you may be asking what makes this masculine? I think the classic black and white color combo is, for sure, masculine. But also the straight lines... rectangles and squares. Not to say that guys don't like other shapes. Just saying, particularly for my guy, he likes squares and straight lines.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for this card:

Fur ~ C00, C1, N0, N2, N4, Colorless Blender
Eyes ~ B000, B00
Nose / Ears / Pads ~ R00, R20, Colorless Blender
Outline ~ B000, B00
Grounding ~ C00, C1
Background Kitties ~ N2, N4

I used a black scrap card front along with the Kitten Kaleidoscope leftover for my card. Both of these panels dictated the design for my card. I shifted the Kitten Kaleidoscope background to the upper left side to cover the hole in my black card front. And I placed the Feline Funny kitty along the same left edge to cover the hole in the Kitten Kaleidoscope background panel. To balance the card I adhered the sentiment so that it went all the way over to the right edge of the card.

You can check out my process video here... Masculine Birthday Card | Feline Funny | Unity Stamp Co.

No enamel dots or ribbons or sequins for this one. I think omitting those embellishments also makes this a masculine card. If you haven't already, head over to Unity and check out the awesome new releases and the fabulous sale going on now! Lots of wonderful new red rubber in the shop!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Eclipse Circles ~ Kitten Kaleidoscope ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Have you seen the new kitty background stamp that was just released over at Unity Stamp Co? It's called Kitten Kaleidoscope and it got it me thinking about kaleidoscopes. Kaleidoscopes have a continually changing pattern of shapes and colors. Well, I didn't want to get too crazy with my card design but I thought it would be fun to play with some circles and add some dimension to a card... like a kaleidoscope vibe.

I stamped the background five times using Black Amalgam ink on white card stock. I then die cut a circle from four of the stamped card fronts using the four smallest circle dies from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. The three larger circles overlap a bit so that's why I stamped the background stamp five times so that I could die cut the three full circles.

I adhered the three circles together using liquid glue so I could adjust them slightly to match the background on my main panel. I then added some foam tape to the back of the three circles and adhered them to the main panel. I also added foam tape to the smallest die cut circle and popped it up on the card.

The main panel is trimmed and adhered to a black card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I then adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base measuring 4-1/4 x 11"; scored at 5-1/2".

You can see more of the Eclipse Circle effect that I created in this photo. So fun! The sweet little sentiment is from the Windowsill stamps... another cute stamp with a kitty. I die cut the sentiment with a small circle die from my stash. I continued the circle design by partially popping up the sentiment with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. It overlaps the larger bottom circle just a bit.

You can check out my process video here... Eclipse Circles | Kitten Kaleidoscope | Unity Stamp Co.

I finished off the card by adding a few black enamel dots to keep with the circle theme. This was such a fun card to make and I think it would be a great masculine card. If you haven't already, head over to Unity and check out the awesome new releases and the fabulous sale going on now!

Membership Monday ~ December 2022 Kit of the Month ~ Advent Calendar Day 12 ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a quick card for the December 2022 Kit of the Month. It's a busy time of year for everyone. If you find yourself in need of a card that can also be a gift... this one is quick and easy.

Today's Advent Calendar Day 12 stamp just happens to be coffee themed so I thought I'd pair it up with the cute coffee stamps in this month's KOM. Some simple copic coloring really makes this a quick card. I used T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T7, R20, R14, R27. This may look like a long list but I used different ones on different cups. I also added just a touch of red to the Advent Calendar stamp.

The monochromatic design really started with that pretty black and white paper from the Coffee Lovers {paper pack}. And I couldn't help but use the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} again. They work so perfectly with the Advent Calendar stamps.

Next, the sentiment was stamped directly on the card. I had originally stamped it on a scrap and was going to cut it but this simple card just needed a simple sentiment. Easy peasy.

The inside of the card is what makes this a gift. Just add a scrap of pattern paper! Some tear tape on just the bottom and sides to adhere it to the card leaves that top open to insert your gift card.

Here's a look at the whole KOM... another fabulous kit!
Can you believe you get a full sheet of rubber for only $42. That includes shipping! You also get a $6.95 discount on every order from Unity over $40. Membership Monday ~ November 2022 Kit of the Month ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie sharing one more card for the November 2022 Kit of the Month. Today I have a mixed media style black & white card with just a touch of red.

Do you ever get a fun idea for a card but you're not sure how it's going to come together? Well, that was this card for me. Another mixed media style card but I wanted it simple in black and white.

A few snowflakes with the fun 'ho ho ho' sentiment gave some interest to the top of the card. A trio of trees in the bottom left corner and then Santa popped up on the card. Love all the subtle texture and dimension!

The sentiment was heat embossed on black card stock with white pigment ink and white embossing powder; trimmed and adhered to the card front.

You can check out my process video for this card here... Black & White Christmas Card | November 2022 Kit of the Month | Unity Stamp Co.

~ Friends of Unity January 2021 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!

Happy New Year to you!!! Welcome to our January 2021 Blog Hop!!

Our cue this month is a fun one it's...

Black & White!!

This fabulous cue was so fun to play with!

I had several ideas but only enough time to make two cards.

I absolutely love the Bohemian Backgrounds stamp set and I've just been itching to use it! I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" True Black card front. I used my anti static pouch to prepare the card front for heat embossing. I then stamped the bohemian doodle stamp five times on the card front with Wow Clear Embossing ink. I dusted the card front with Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe and then melted the embossing powder with my Wagner mini heat gun.

I then splattered the card front with white acrylic paint that I spritzed with just a tiny bit of water to thin it out. I set that aside and stamped the beautiful sentiment with the same embossing ink and melted the same white embossing powder. I trimmed the card front to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" and adhered it to a white A2 top-fold card base. I trimmed the sentiment into a strip and popped it up on the card with foam tape.
I love how the clean sentiment strip pops on the card! So pretty!

My next card uses the same gorgeous stamp from the Bohemian Backgrounds stamp set. This time I stamped the bohemian doodle three times with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I used the 'birthday wishes' sentiment from the July 2020 Sentiment kit called Aging Gorgeously. I splattered a little black acrylic paint that I thinned out with a spritz of water.

Once it was dry, I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 22 dies from My Favorite Things. I adhered it to a white A2 top-fold card base. Done! Very quick and I think it turned out really pretty in black and white!

Here's a look at both cards together.
I sure love how both of these turned out! I don't think I could pick a favorite... how about you? Do you prefer one over the other?

Well... in celebration of our 3 year anniversary of hopping I did a giveaway last month and the winner chosen by random.org is...

Unity Stamp Company ~ Uniquely Unity ~ In A Snap!

Hi there crafty friends!
I'm so excited to share my card today using the gorgeous new Uniquely Unity stamp called In A Snap from Unity Stamp Company!! I was inspired to go all black and white for this card because of the sentiment. 'Thanks for the memories'... just got me thinking about my childhood and the black and white photos that I used to look through in our family photo albums. So, I thought this stamp would be fun to color in black and white!

I was a little concerned because I'd never done this technique before using Copic markers... but I think it turned out really nice! I used only five Copic markers for this card ~ N0, N1, N2, N5, and the Colorless Blender.

Oh... and as a note or a tip... I have been changing out the broad tips for fine tips on all of my sketch markers and the fine tips came in very handy for the tight spots in coloring this image.

Once I had my image colored, I die cut it with the beautiful Pleated Lace Rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I adhered gorgeous Harper's Boutique papers by The Paper Studio to my white card base and then popped up my panel using foam tape. To finish this card off I added a few drops of the Nuvo gloss ebony black crystal drops. I love how this turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal
