{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 ~ Empty Snow Globe ~ Pink & Main

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing another sweet holiday card featuring a couple of great stamps from our wonderful Sponsor, Pink & Main.

I paired up the fun Empty Snow Globe stamp set with one of the adorable gingerbreads from the Sugar and Spice Holidays stamp set to make a faux shaker card. My intention was to make a shaker card, but I got distracted and forgot to add the clear card stock {acetate} layer so a faux shaker it is! LOL!

I stamped the Empty Snow Globe and the ginger using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them up with some Copic markers. I brightened up the white icing using a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Here's a quick list of what I used:
Gingerbread: E30, E34, E35
White Icing: C00, C2
Red: R20, R14
Snow Globe Base: E21, E23, E25

I used the lovely Sugar Plum 6x6 Paper Pad from My Mind's Eye for my pretty paper layers for this card. They are all adhered to a Kraft A2 top fold card base. The snow globe is popped up with some foam strips from Stampin' Up. Oh, and the snowflakes I added were from the Advent Calendar last year from Unity.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 55 for the month of March. There's just a few days left to enter the challenge! Unity Advent Calendar 2024 Day 10 ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's Day 10 of the 2024 Advent Calendar from Unity!! I was inspired to make a shaker card today but chickened out. LOL! Me and shaker cards don't see eye to eye... I always make a mess with them.

So I decided to make a faux shaker card with a removable ornament. These are easier, but still a little messy. LOL! And the ornament is so fun. It's not just a card... it's a gift!

You can check out my video revealing the Advent Calendar Day 10 stamp and my process in making this card here... Unity Advent Calendar 2024 Day 10 | Unity Stamp Co.

There are 27 different sketches to pick from for this month's Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration ALL the Sketches Challenge! Here's a look at six of them. I was inspired by the last one... Sketch 18.

A closer look at Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 18! This is a fun sketch! It's perfect for those scraps we all have in our stash. Stop by the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group to check out the challenge and see all the inspiration for each of the sketches. Maybe you'll be inspired to play along with us!

I die cut all the pieces to create the ornament using the Ornamental Greetings Ornament dies from Unity {looks like these aren't available right now}. You can see all the layers in the video above. I just had to ink up the Day 2 penguin again! I love this cutie!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the penguin: C00, C1, YR21, YR15

I adhered a bunch of the fun Christmas confetti mix around the bottom of the ornament and a few around the top. It took me a few tries but I also tied a pretty bow. I adhered the ribbon with a glue dot. The ornament is adhered to the card with removable glue dots from the iCraft Removable Pixie Dots Adhesive from Therm O Web.

I paired up the ornament with the Watercolor Tidings {paper pack}. I finished up the card with a sweet sentiment from the Christmas cut apart sheet that I received as a freebie from my Brown Thursday order. So perfect with these papers!

I'll be back tomorrow for Day 11 of the 2024 Advent Calendar from Unity!
Have an ink-tastic day!

Peekaboo Snow Globe Card ~ Dec. 2020 Whit Kit Winter Shake Up ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!

I'm back to share one last card using the fantastic December 2020 Whit Kit called Winter Shake Up! I think I've saved the best for last... well, at least this is my favorite of the three cards that I've shared. When I saw the fun stamps in the Winter Shake Up stamp set, I instantly thought of this card design. I just love making peekaboo cards and how fun to create with a snow globe as the peekaboo element!! I just love how it turned out!

I left the front very CAS on purpose... I think it makes the peekaboo element more fun!
I'll be honest, this card was a little bit of work... but overall it's a pretty easy card to make.

Here you can see the lights reflect off of the acetate sheet I used for a faux shaker element.

And the inside!!! How stinkin' cute is that! Eeep! I love it!
The sentiment inside the card is from the Christmas Wishes set... a Graciellie Design stamp available at Unity Stamp Co. Love love love the sentiments in this set!

Here's a quick run down of the Copic Markers that I used for this card:

Snow Globe Base ~ G21, G46
Snow Globe Glass ~ B0000, B00
Tree ~ G21, G46, E55, E59
Car ~ R000, R14, R27, C00, C2, N0, N1, N2, N3, N5
Grounding ~ N0, N1

I invite you to please check out my video sharing how I created this card. You can check it out here... Peekaboo Snow Globe Card | DEC 2020 Whit Kit | Unity Stamp Co. or you can click on the video below.

One more look at this cute card... I think this just may be my last Christmas card for 2020.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing some inspiration using the December 2020 Whit Kit... I sure have had fun creating these cards to share with you!

Scrapping for Less ~ May 2020 Let's Encourage One Another ~ Weather Together Collection

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing some more inspiration using the sweet Weather Together Collection of the May 2020 Let's Encourage One Another card kit! I have created three more cards to share with you today and even have a video of the third card!

My first card features the sunburst rainbow paper for my background layer that is trimmed down to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8" and mat on a piece of Blu Raspberry card stock measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I die cut a stitched circle from white card stock and then masked off the edge with some scrap paper. I then stamped the rainbow from the Weather the Storm stamp set with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I then die cut another slightly bigger circle from the Blu Raspberry card stock and mat the rainbow circle.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock, trimmed it and mat it with the same Blu Raspberry card stock. I popped up the circle rainbow and sentiment with foam squares. A simple and cute card!

I still had the rainbow stamp on my Stamp Platform and had adhered these pretty patterned papers together so... I got to thinking that this would be a cute idea for a second card. What do you think? It's another simple design. I wrapped the ribbon around the card front and secured it with Tear & Tape from Stampin' Up. Here's a similar tape that's available in the SFL Shop... Scor-Tape. I then tied a knot with the little piece of ribbon left over and trimmed the edges. I used a glue dot to adhere it to the card... a little cheat for those days you don't want to fuss with trying to tie a bow. I popped up the rainbow panel that I had mat with the Blu Raspberry card stock with foam squares.

I used the same Copic markers for my first two cards. Here's a list:

Red ~ R000, R14
Orange ~ YR0000, YR16
Yellow ~ Y000, Y13
Green ~ G000, G07
Blue ~ B000, B02
Purple ~ V0000, V06

And here is my third card... a Faux Shaker card.

A close up photo of the third card. I created a video for this card... you can check it out down below!

My trio of Weather Together cards! These were fun to create!

Unity Stamp Company ~ March 2020 Wildflower Wonders Whit Kit ~ Shaker Cards!

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing two versions of shakers cards using the March 2020 Whit Kit called Wildflower Wonders from Unity!! This monthly membership is designed by Whitney Magnuson of Unity Stamp Company and she has really put together some amazing kits. I really love the vintage feel of this month's kit with the delicate textures of the papers and the gorgeous sentiment stamps!

My first shaker card is a traditional shaker card that is a full A2 card size measuring 5-1/2 x 4-1/4". I adhered a 5-3/8 x 4-1/8" piece of clear card stock to the back of a large stitched scalloped frame that I had die cut from one of the papers in the Vintage Textiles paper included in the kit. I trimmed down another patterned paper and adhered it to a white card base from my stash. I then sprinkled some of the Pearl Confetti Sequins onto the card and popped up the frame with a thin foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment with Kraft ink from Gina K. Designs on a scrap of the same patterned paper I used on the card base. I couldn't find quite the right size of a stitched rectangle die so I used a little crafty trick and thought I would take a few pictures and share them with you.

First you'll want to line up the die for your first cut... I usually do this on the top since it's easier for me to line it up just so.

And this is what you have after running it through your die cutting machine.

Now you want to line up the bottom portion of the image or sentiment and then gently move the die in your hands back and forth a tiny bit to make sure that it's in the grooves that are already cut.

And this is how it'll look after running it through your die cutting machine... there are a couple extra stitches at the top and bottom but those don't bother me.

I adhered the sentiment to the card with a liquid glue and then wrapped some of the beautiful jute string around the front of the card a few times and tied a little bow leaving extra long tails. A pretty simple but lovely shaker card!

My second card is actually a Faux Shaker card. It has the appearance of a shaker card but the pretty sequins don't actually move. I used three different papers from the Vintage Textiles paper pack for this card. I used the burlap for my bottom layer that is adhered to a white card base from my stash. I then die cut the center from the white burlap paper that I had trimmed down to about 4 x 5-1/4". I trimmed the floral paper to 3-3/4 x 5" and adhered it to the center of the card.

I stamped the Hello sentiment onto a scrap of vellum card stock from my stash with VersaMark watermark ink and heat embossed an ultra fine white embossing powder. I then stamped the beauty sentiment and did the same steps. I trimmed down the vellum card stock and adhered it to the card. I popped up the white burlap paper that I had set aside earlier using foam tape.... giving the card an appearance of being a shaker card. I then adhered a bunch of the sequins around the bottom portion of the cut out... even tucking some in under the scallops. I adhered a few more around the sentiment and was done. I love making faux shaker cards!! This one turned out so lovely!

Unity Stamp Company ~ Mer-Mazing is Seriously Amazing!

Hi there crafty peeps!
I'm so excited to share a new release from Unity Stamp Company called Mer-Mazing!!! Oh my goodness!! I love love love this gorgeous mermaid stamp created by Angie Blom!
Isn't she gorgeous!?! Love!

I decided to make a Faux Shaker so to start I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils blending with the Colorless Blender pencil. I die cut the panel with the Gina Marie Designs' Frames Scalloped Stitched Rectangles die. I then adhered the inner panel to a white card base using liquid glue and popped up the outer frame with foam tape. I adhered a bunch of sequins from the Ariel sequins by Unity Stamp Company... I thought this mix was fitting especially for a mermaid card... and luckily the colors matched perfectly! LOL!

I trimmed the sentiment and mat each portion with Plum Pudding card stock. I adhered the sentiment to the card and bam! Done! Love how this turned out!

Hope you've enjoyed my card too! Thanks for checking out my blog!
See ya next time.
