{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 60 ~ Juniper Girl ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 60 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a vintage style holiday card featuring beautiful papers and a lovely stamp from our wonderful Sponsor, Unity Stamp Co.

I adore the vintage vibe of the North Pole Collection {paper pack}. I wanted to pair these wonderful papers up with a sweet Angie Girl... it's been quite a long time since I inked up one of the girls. I chose Juniper Girl. I think she's just lovely.

I cut and die cut all of my papers from the North Pole Collection {paper pack} and adhered them to a vanilla card base. I used scraps for the center panel so the height of each one may be a smidge different but the width on all four is 2-3/4". I wanted a Christmas sentiment so I went looking through my other Angie Girl stamps and found this one from the December Girl stamps. I stamped it on a scrap of paper from the paper pack and adhered it to the center panel. And then I added foam tape to the back of both and popped it up on the card.

I stamped Juniper Girl with Black Amalgam ink and colored her up with Copic markers. I fussy cut the image leaving a border around the edges and then adhered her to the card with a mix of foam tape {for the right edge of the tree hanging off of the center panel} and liquid glue.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E00, E11, E25
Hat / Scarf / Mittens: RV000, RV02, C0, C2
Coat: E0000, E81, E43
Pants: E11, E33
Shoes: E000, E11, E15
Cup: G000, G24, G46, C0, C2
Tree: G000, G24, G46, E11, E25
Ornaments: RV10, RV21, RV02, RV29
Snow: C0, C2

Frightfully Good Birthday ~ Holidays Are a Nightmare ~ Kindred Stamps

Hello there crafty friend!
I was asked to make a custom birthday card with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. I adore Nightmare Before Christmas so this was not a hard task and I had just the stamp set to use. I used the retired Holidays Are a Nightmare stamp set from Kindred Stamps.

I started with my background. I knew that I wanted a black and white card... almost grayscale actually. So I ink smooshed a piece of white card stock with Black Soot Distress Ink. To tame down some of the white in the background I decided to scrape my ink pad across the panel. I did this from both directions all the way across the panel. I really like the added texture it gives to the background. I trimmed it down and adhered it to a black A2 top fold card.

I wanted to include the hill so I roughly drew it with pencil on black card stock and cut it out. I die cut a frame for my little scene using two nesting dies. I wanted a simple moon so I just die cut two circles. If I made this again, I'd probably do with out the mat for the moon. I thought it would make the moon stand out a bit more but I don't think it was completely necessary. I added some splatters to the moon and adhered the hill and moon to the frame.

I stamped the fun characters from Holidays Are a Nightmare and colored them with just a few Copic markers: N0, N2, N4. I fussy cut them on the line and colored the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. TIP: Be sure to color the edges with a brush tip and do it from the back of the image just in case your marker slips. I adhered Sally and Jack to the card and then popped up Zero with foam tape.

The sentiment was fun to put together for a birthday card. I masked the 'Have a Frightfully Good Holiday Season' by covering 'Holiday Season' with a post-it note when I inked up the stamp. I removed the post-it note and stamped. This took a few times to get a nice crisp sentiment but it was worth it. I die cut birthday two times using the retired Chic Script Salutations {die set} from Unity. I die cut the shadow from white card stock so the sentiment would pop. I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and popped them up. Such a fun card to make! If you need a custom card made, let me know!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 60 ~ Frosty & Feisty {Pissy Kitty} ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a little inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 60 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun holiday card featuring fun papers, dies and stamp from our fabulous Sponsor, Unity Stamp Co.

I started with my paper layers for this card. I pulled out my Catmas Party {paper pack} and trimmed the background layer to 4 x 5-1/4". I adhered it to a red top fold card base. I cut four strips of patten paper measuring 2-5/8 x 7/8".  I die cut a piece of red card stock with a die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Die Set. And then I adhered the strips in the center. I started by adhering the top and the bottom pieces. And then I was able to center the middle pieces and glue them down.

I stamped the fun kitty from the Frosty & Feisty {Pissy Kitty} using Black Amalgam ink and colored it up with Copic markers. And then I fussy cut it leaving a border.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Kitty: N0, N2, N4, C0, C2, R20
Eyes: YG11, YG09
Hat: RV10, RV02, RV14
Ground: C0, C2

I adhered the sentiment to the center panel and then popped up the center panel using foam tape. And then I adhered the kitty. I love this pissy kitty! That face cracks me up!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 60 ~ Arctic Joyride ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas card featuring a super cute stamp and pretty papers from our fabulous Sponsor Unity! This month's prize is a $25 gift card to Unity!! Yay!

I inked up the adorable penguin from the Arctic Joyride stamps using Black Amalgam ink. This cutie doesn't take much to color up.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Penguin: C0, C2, Y15, YR15, YR68
Scarf: R20, R14
Sled: E25
Red Present: R20, R14
Blue Present: BG000, BG10, BG01

I paired the cute penguin up with the Snowflake Elegance {paper pack}. I used a soft white pattern paper for my bottom layer measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The blue layer measures 4 x 5-1/4". I die cut the next layer using a die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. And then I cut strips from my scraps to 2-5/8 x 3/4".

I stamped, trimmed and popped up the sentiment on the card with foam tape. I fussy cut the penguin and then popped him up on the card too. I finished it off with a couple glitter white enamel dots from my stash.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 59 ~ Lovely Latte ~ Lawn Fawn

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a little inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 59 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun holiday card featuring a cute die and stamp from our fabulous Sponsor, Lawn Fawn.

I started with my background for this card. I pulled out my retired Perfectly Plaid Christmas 6x6 Paper Pack and trimmed the background layer to 4 x 5-1/4". The teal paper was a scrap. It measures 4 x 1-3/4". I adhered those layers to a red A2 top fold card base of Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I die cut the pieces for the cup using the Lovely Latte dies. The face and handle were die cut from Pure Poppy card stock. The coffee was die cut from Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. The lighter part of the coffee, the inner (green) portion of the cup, and the face/cheeks were die cut from Stampers Select White card stock and I colored them with Copics.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Green: YG11, G24, G46
Coffee: E51
Cheeks: R00, R20
Kitty: R00, R20, YR20, YR15, N0, N2, N4
Bell: Y15, Y28
Eyes / Mouth: 100 (black)

I die cut a circle from vellum card stock using a die from the Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables dies. I adhered the cup to the vellum and then adhered the vellum to the card by only applying liquid glue behind the cup. I stamped the adorable kitty from the Say What? Holiday Critters. I colored her like my sweet Quinn and die cut her with the coordinating Say What? Holiday Critters dies. I popped her up on the card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Thanks a Latte stamp set. I trimmed it and adhered it directly to the card.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 ~ Transfer Gel Duo Spatters ~ Therm O Web

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back to share one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! I experimented a little bit and was pleasantly surprised that it worked! Hee hee! I'm sharing a fun ink blended and spattered Christmas card featuring some awesome crafty goodies from our amazing sponsor, Therm O Web! Therm O Web has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for this month's challenge! There's still a few days to enter! They also shared an exclusive code with us for 10% OFF our orders on their website... use code BYSHC10.

I wasn't quite sure where this card was going until I got there! LOL! Do you ever have that happen to you?! I started with a vibrant background that I blended using Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. I did a bit of water spatters on the background. And then I got to thinking how could I do some foiling spatters... oh, how fun it was to figure out how and then see that it worked!

While I was thinking about how I'd add foil spatters, I trimmed my background and die cut a scrap of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink using the hill die from the Land Borders Die Set from Newton's Nook Designs. I adhered them together with iCraft UltraBond Adhesive and then set the panel aside. Next, I stamped the adorable critters from the fun exclusive 2024 STAMPtember set from Newton's Nook Designs and Simon Says Stamp called Happy Paw-lidays {sadly, it's sold out}. Speaking of Simon Says Stamp... I'm entering this fun card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes over on the SSS Blog.

I decided to Copic color the adorable kitty and stamped the sentiment using Wilted Violet Distress Ink. I actually stamped the sentiment on the card but I messed it up by pushing too hard. It happens! So I stamped the sentiment again, trimmed it up and popped it up on the card using iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (white). I die cut the kitty using the coordinating Happy Paw-lidays die set and also popped up the kitty on the card. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The foil spatters created with Transfer Gel Duo and Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil Transfer Sheets were done before the popping up of anything {check out the video below!}.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for the kitty:
Kitty: R00, R20, N0, N2, N4
Hat / Scarf: C00, C2, B00, B02, B04, B28
Present: V000, V12, V15, V17
Ribbon: RV10, RV11, RV14

You can check out the quick video showing how I made the fun foiled spatters here... Fun Foil Spatters | Transfer Gel Duo | Therm O Web.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 ~ Flurry Forest ~ Therm O Web

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back again to share more inspiration for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas card featuring some awesome crafty goodies from our amazing sponsor, Therm O Web! Therm O Web has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 this month! Awesome!! They also shared an exclusive code with us for 10% OFF our orders on their website... use code BYSHC10.

I wanted to go with a nearly CAS design for my card today. I wanted a lot of white in the background. I started with a fun Deco Foil Toner Card Front called Flurry Forest by Therm O Web and Unity. I'm a bit obsessed with the Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. I just love the mix of colors you get from the silver shine. So stinking fun! I heated up my laminator for a good 10-15 minutes so it was nice and hot. I ran the card front through my laminator with the deco foil sheet shiny side facing up. I always love the reveal when you pull off the deco foil sheet... AWWWW!!!

I had my snowflake scrap leftover from my first card for this month's sketch using the Deco Foil Toner Card Front called Snow Many Flakes by Therm O Web and Unity. Unfortunately, this card front is retired. I adhered the snowflake panel to the tree panel and then adhered the whole card front to a white A2 top fold card base turned on its side for a landscape card using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from Therm O Web. I set the card aside and started looking for a stamp set to play with.

Confession: my desk, actually, my entire studio looks like a tornado ran right through it. There's stuff all over my desk and on the floor. It's almost scary to walk in there right now. I hope some of you can relate. Or am I the only one?

While I was looking for a stamp set, I thought I'd tidy my desk just a bit. Well, I came across this adorable stamped image already colored and ready to go! BINGO!! Isn't she just the cutest?! This super cute stamp is from The Greeting Farm and it's called Anya Reboot. It's a big 8-1/2 x 11" photopolymer stamp set with a bunch of Anyas. Sadly, I don't see it on the website right now but you can always request it for the next Farmer's Market!

Anya was stamped on Stampers Select White card stock and colored up with Copic markers. Now, because I found this cutie already colored up on my desk, I'm not totally positive what markers I used. But I have a pretty good idea what I used {listed down below} because I tend to use my favorite combos. Especially for Christmas coloring. I fussy cut Anya and colored the edges with a black marker to make the fussy cutting nice and neat. I added foam tape to the back of Anya called iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (white), also from Therm O Web. I stamped a cute sentiment from The More the Merrier, also from The Greeting Farm. I colored the tree and ornament on the sentiment. I trimmed up the sentiment and then adhered it using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from Therm O Web again.

Copic markers I believe I used for Anya, plus the sentiment tree and ornament:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair: E51, E53, E55, E57
Reds: R20, R14, R46
Greens: YG11, G24, G46
Boots: N0, N2, N4
Tree: YG11, G24, G46, Y15
Ornament: R20, R14, R46, Y15

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 for the month of September. Loving this sketch! It's even fun turned on its side. I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch. {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 ~ Snow Many Flakes ~ Therm O Web

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas card featuring some awesome crafty goodies from our amazing sponsor, Therm O Web! Therm O Web has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 this month! So awesome!!

I started with a fun, but sadly retired Deco Foil Toner Card Front called Snow Many Flakes by Therm O Web and Unity for my snowflake layer. Therm O Web has a whole bunch of Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts available on their website though. I trimmed a piece of Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil Transfer Sheet and laid it on top of the card front foil facing up. I heated up my laminator for a few extra minutes after the green light turned on and ran the foil topped card front through my laminator. I've found my laminator does better if it has those extra couple of minutes. I grabbed my Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire Distress Mini Ink pads and just pulled them across the card front giving a windy look to the background. I used a water pen to blend out the harsh lines from the ink pads. It's softened up with not much water. The card fronts hold up pretty well to water anyways. I then scraped the edge of the card front with the Chipped Sapphire just giving it a darker edge. A substitute for using a mat.

I die cut a piece of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink using a Stitched Hillside Borders die from Lawn Fawn. I adhered the snowflake panel to a white A2 top fold card base using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from Therm O Web and then adhered the hill on the bottom edge using the same glue. I set the card base aside and started die cutting all the fun pieces from the Sizzix Tim Holtz Cozy Winter Thinlits dies. I pretty much used the cover sheet from the dies as my guide for colors... except for the bears scarf. I wanted to do a fun green. I used Dark Chocolate, Kraft, New Leaf, True Black, Pure Poppy and Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink for the bear. I Copic colored with YG11, G24 and G46 on the scarf; and colored the front of the mug on white card stock using BG70 and BG72. For the branch I die cut it from Early Espresso card stock from Stampin' Up. The snow is Stampers Select White card stock that I added some shadow to with a C00 and C1 Copic marker.

I die cut all the pieces for the little bird and adhered them all together using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from Therm O Web. I used Stampers Select White, Kraft, and Pure Poppy card stocks for the bird. I Copic colored the beak using YR12 and Y11; the Kraft and white card stock of the bird's body using E000, E51, and E55; the Pure Poppy card stock of the head and tail using R20, R14 and a tiny bit of R46; the white card stock of the wing using N0, N2, N4; and lastly YR12 and E55 on the white feet of the bird. To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Simple Little Joys itty bitty stamp from Unity. It was a perfect fit because I find joy in snow and a good cup of coffee. This was such a fun card to make!

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 49 for the month of September. Loving this sketch! I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch. {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 ~ Winnie the Pooh: Snowone More Wonderful ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with more inspiration for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet holiday card featuring the adorably sweet Winnie the Pooh: Snowone More Wonderful stamps from our fabulous sponsor, Unity Stamp Co.! Unity has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 this month! So awesome!!

I'm super excited to be sharing another holiday card featuring this adorable stamp from Unity! I love Winnie the Pooh and I hadn't inked up this sweet stamp until now. I stamped it with Black Amalgam ink and Copic colored Pooh bear and the snowman with the following Copic markers:

Winnie the Pooh: Y11, Y15, Y35
Gloves / Scarf: YG11, G24, G46, G29
Snowman: C00, C1, C3, YR000, YR15, YR16, N0, N2
Hat: N0, N2, N4, N6
Snowman Scarf: R20, R14, R46
Branches: E55, YR11, G24

I then die cut them using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. I also die cut a mat of True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink using the largest circle die from the set. Unfortunately the whole image was a little too big so I had to trim off the tree and a bit of the snowman's other arm but I think it's still nice. You can see a tiny bit of the star and an ornament from the tree on the edge. I adhered the circles together and then trimmed off the excess from the black mat. I set those aside and found another one of my favorite holiday paper pack from Unity called Cozy Christmas {paper pack}. I had several scraps in this paper pack so I knew it would be perfect for this sketch. I adhered them to a thin piece of card stock and then I trimmed off the excess.

I trimmed the background panel down to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8". I adhered it to a mat of Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I then scored an A2 card base of True Black card stock measuring 4-1/4 x 11 at 5-1/2". And then I adhered the panel to the card base. I heat embossed the sentiment using my go to favorite products... I prepped the card stock with the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool, stamped the sentiment with Sugar Cube White Pigment ink from Taylored Expressions, dusted the wet ink with Alabaster White Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe and then melted the powder with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool. I trimmed up the sentiment and adhered it to the partial circle and then I added foam tape to the back of both and popped it up on the card.  Love how this one turned out!

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 for the month of August. I love this month's sketch! It's definitely become a favorite! The stripes in the background can be just striped paper or can be created using papers from a paper pack or even just random complimentary papers from a paper stash! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! We'd love for you to play along with us but remember tomorrow is the last day to enter this challenge!!

Happy Birthday To You ~ Chunky Chevron Stencil ~ A Colorful Life Designs

 Hello there crafty friend!
We just celebrated our eldest son's 25th birthday and I wanted to quick share the card I made for him. I used the awesome Chunky Chevron Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I am a huge fan of their stencils! All so awesome and unique!

I started this card with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card front of Lemon Lime Twist card stock from Stampin' Up. I laid the fun Chunky Chevron Stencil over the top of the card stock and secured it in place with some washi tape. I then blended Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks over the stencil.

I shifted the stencil to fill the empty spaces and blended Black Soot Distress Ink over the stencil. I die cut the panel using the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies from Unity. I then adhered the panel to a black A2 top fold card base turned on its side for a landscape card. I didn't actually plan to make a landscape card. When I went looking through my Lawn Fawn dies, I realized I didn't have the giant happy birthday die. I just have the Giant Happy Birthday To You die which is too big for a portrait card.

I die cut Lemon Lime Twist card stock twice using the Giant Happy Birthday To You die and I die cut it one more time from True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink. I adhered the Lemon Lime Twist die cuts together and then adhered them offset to the black die cut. I love the dimension this gives to the sentiment. Hope you're having a wonderfully inky weekend friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Unity has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 this month! So awesome!!

I'm super excited to be sharing another brand new stamp from Unity!! Yay! The fabulous August releases continue with a wonderful assortment of stamps including this fun couple with a slew of hilarious sentiments. I stamped the couple with Black Amalgam ink and Copic colored them with the following Copic markers:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair: C1, C3
Red: R20, R14, R46
White: C00, C1, C3
Green: YG11, G24, G46
Black: N0, N2, N4, N6
Bench: E51, E55, E57

I then die cut the couple using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. And I trimmed the sentiment and cut a fishtail on one side. I set those aside and found my favorite holiday paper pack from Unity called White Winter {paper pack}. I had several scraps in this paper pack so I knew it would be perfect for this sketch. I adhered them to a thin piece of card stock and then I trimmed off the excess. I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies

I placed the circle over the pattern paper panel and laid the die back over making sure that it was in the correct position. I secured the circle to the die using washi tape and then I ran it through my Big Shot. I added foam tape to the back of the circle and the sentiment. Adhered the striped panel to a white A2 top fold card base and then popped up the circle and sentiment. I finished off the card with three red enamel dots from my stash.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 for the month of August. I love this month's sketch! The stripes in the background can be just striped paper or can be created using papers from a paper pack or even just random complimentary papers from a paper stash! I can't wait to see what you create! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog!
