{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 ~ From Our House to Yours

 Hello there crafty friend!
Starting off the new year right with my weekly Christmas card using the new {BYSHC} Sketch 18 and an adorable stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called Our House to Yours! Snow globes are one of my most favorite images for Christmas and this one is just too cute!

I paired it up with a beautiful paper pad from Ink N' Splatter called Gentle Winter... I love the snowy pattern papers and lots of pretty plaid papers!! The traditional color palette with a touch of light brown is so cozy. Just perfect to pair up with the sweet snow globe stamp!

I used the following Copic Markers to color up the snow globe:

Trees ~ YG11, G24, G46, E23
House 1 ~ RV10, RV21, R83, E21, E23, N0, N1, N3
House 2 ~ C00, C2, E21, E23, N0, N1, N3
House 3 ~ YG03, YG11, YG63, E21, E23, N0, N1, N3, N4
House 4 ~ R14, R20, R27, R56, N0, N1, N3, YG11, YG63
House 5 ~ YG93, YG95, YG97, E21, E23, N0, N1, N4, N7
Snow ~ C00, C2
Star / House Windows ~ Y06
Snow Globe Base / Glass ~ E21, E23, E25, E51, B0000, B000
Ribbon ~ R14, R20

I'm so happy with how this one turned out! So fun to ink up this stamp from Unity again!

Thinking of You ~ December 2021 Whit Kit ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I am excited for another fabulous year of Whit Kits from Unity Stamp Co. and I hope to be more consistent in sharing my cards using the kits. However, today I'm sharing a couple cards I created using the beautiful December 2021 Whit Kit called Trust in its Wings. December was such a busy month, I didn't get to play with this kit until now.

I couldn't help but color with my Copic Markers on Kraft card stock again... it's one of my most favorite techniques and it's so pretty for winter cards!

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color the image:

Leaves ~ G14, G46
Berries ~ R14, R20, R27, R37
Bird ~ E01, E11, E17, E07, YR24, YR27

I used the coordinating die to die cut the bird. The top layer of Kraft is die cut with the Double Roped Square die from Gina Marie Designs.

My bonus card using the kit!! This kit has another great pack of papers and the wood wreath and berries paper was perfect for a very quick and pretty birthday card using a sentiment from a sentiment kit.

I colored the image the very same way and with the very same Copic Markers on white card stock. It's neat how it's so different from the Copic coloring on Kraft.

You can check out my process video for my first card here... Thinking of You Card | December 2021 Whit Kit.

Even though the kit isn't available anymore, the stamps and papers are available separately at Unity Stamp Co. Be sure to check out the Whit Kit membership at Unity... the new January 2022 kit is perfect for New Year's cards! I can't wait to ink it up and share a bit of inspiration with you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 18 ~ Merry Christmas from Holiday Anya

Hello there crafty friend & Happy New Year!!
It's the first of January and that means it's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing an adorable card using the new {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #18 and a super cute stamp from The Greeting Farm called Holiday Anya 9!!

Isn't she just the cutest?! Love her! I just had to pair her up with another sweet pack of papers from Ink N' Splatter called Twinkle Berry Winter. As I mentioned yesterday, I just discovered the beautiful papers available at Ink N' Splatter... and Oh. My. Goodness!! I am in love!!

These purple, pink and white papers with the hearts and splatter and snowflakes, oh my! Love love love!!! The pictures really do not do them justice... so much prettier {and brighter} in person! Anywho... I decided to flip the sketch for this one and turned the sentiment to work with my design.

I absolutely loved coloring Anya!! I went a little too dark on her hair... I'm a bit out of practice on hair. I need to color up some more cuties from The Greeting Farm! Here's a quick list of the Copics I used to color her:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E04, E11, R00, R20
Mouth ~ N6, R00, R20
Hair ~ E23, E49, E57
Hat / Coat / Scarf ~ C00, C2, C3, BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV02
Shoes / Button ~ RV10, RV21, RV29
Dress ~ RV10, RV21, Colorless Blender
Present / Bow ~ BG01, BG10, BG45, RV10, RV21, RV29

The sentiment is from another super cute set from The Greeting Farm called Gingerbread Christmas!! I thought about coloring in the sentiment but decided against it. I just trimmed it and adhered it to the card. I fussy cut Anya leaving a skinny white border. I cut a little card stock scrap to adhere at the top {behind} her head so that she would lay flat on the card and then adhered her on the card. I didn't pop anything up for this one... easier and cheaper to mail! She already pops a bit since I left a white border around the colored image.

Here's a look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 18 for the month of January!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back on January 7th with my weekly Christmas card using this month's sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 17 ~ Deck the Paws with Whit's Weenies

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing my last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 17 in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. I used the adorable Whit's Weenies stamp kit from Unity that recently released!! I just adore the cute wiener dogs in this set!

I recently discovered the beautiful paper pads from Ink N' Splatter and may have purchased a few... *wink*wink*  I just had to use this beautiful paper pad called Winter Plaids and Patterns.

I pulled the pretty blues and purples from the papers to use for my coloring. I even used the brownish red for the wiener dog. Such a pretty color palette!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the sweet wiener dog:

Wiener Dog ~ E08, E13, E39
Sweater ~ B0000, B00, B02, V17, V20, V22
Scarf ~ V17, V20, V22, C00, C2
Hat ~ B0000, B00, B02, V17, V20 V22, C00, C2

I altered the sketch just a tad bit by omitting the flags. In all truth, I started adhering and totally forgot them! LOL! It happens!

I love using blues and purples for Christmas cards!! What your favorite color combo for holiday cards?

Here's a look at Sketch 17... today is the last day to play along with this challenge! Stop by the {BYSHC} blog to see even more sweet inspiration for this sketch. I hope you can play along if you haven't already!

Cozy Winter Mouse Gnome ~ Unity Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing one last card for the December Sketch Challenge over at the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group! This week I used three awesome kits for a fun wintry card!!

If you didn't get all your Christmas cards done for the year or maybe you didn't get them all sent out... save those for next year and make a fun wintry card to send to your friends and family!

I paired up the adorable Peppermint Kisses Mouse Gnome with the fantastic Wintertime Window and Paneling {background} kits.

The mouse gnome and Wintertime Window were both stamped with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink and colored up with the following Copic markers:

Nose / Paws ~ E000, E00, E11
Ears ~ R20, R21, E000, N0, N2, N3
Tail ~ N0, N2, N3
Beard ~ C00, C2
Hat ~ R14, R20, R27, R37, C00, C2
Candy Cane ~ R14, R20, R27, C00, C2, G14, G46
Window ~ Y06, Y15, Y35, E43, E44, E47
Bricks ~ E31, E33, E37, E39
Trees ~ G14

Don't forget to ink up the inside of your card! I stamped the sweet mouse gnome and added the second half of the sentiment inside the card. So fun! Check out my process video here… Cozy Winter Mouse Gnome | December Sketch Challenge.

Here’s a look at the sketch! Always remember the sketch is meant to inspire, not require… have fun with it!! The sketch challenge ends tomorrow so there's still a bit of time to play along! I hope you can play along! This is my last week hosting the Unity Challenges... I hope you've had some fun and been inspired over the last three months. Next week Echo starts a brand new challenge... I can't wait to see the new challenge for January! So exciting!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Love the Story ~ Unity Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm still playing catch-up with my creations for Unity's last new release and sale of 2021. Today, I'm sharing a sweet love card that I made using the December Sketch and the newly released Our Blooming Story. I LOVE this gorgeous typewriter!!

I went with a simple palette of blue-green, purple and white. The background is a pretty polka dot paper from the Flutter Away {paper pack} from Unity.

Keeping with a polka dot theme... I stamped the Polka Dance background stamp with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink on white card stock. I didn't completely cover the background stamp with ink giving the background a more distressed look.

I stamped the sentiment and new typewriter stamps with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink and colored the typewriter with the following Copic markers:

Typewriter ~ V20, V22, V28
Flowers ~ R14, BG000, BG01, BG10, BG53
Leaves / Stems ~ YG11, YG13

I fussy cut the typewriter and colored the edges with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the typewriter and then I popped up the whole piece on the card front. I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base. I finished off the card with some beautiful Spring Bling rhinestones from Gina Marie Designs. A sweet love day card or any day card!

If you haven't already, check out the December Sketch challenge over in the Unity Show & Tell group. There's only a couple more days to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Get Well Soon ~ Unity Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I was so busy with the Advent Calendar posts the last few weeks that I forgot to share my cards for Unity's last new release and sale of 2021. Today, I'm sharing a get well soon card that I made using the December Sketch and the newly released Quiet That Voice kit.

This new Angie Girl spoke to my soul... so many have struggled over the last two years, but even before the madness and uncertainty the pandemic has brought I know that some have struggled for even longer. The sentiments in this kit are amazing and one in particular is special to me as it's my very own quote ~ "Embrace your strengths and talents and quiet that voice in your head that says you can't, because you can!" I'm so honored to have it in red rubber!!

The background is a card front of Bermuda Bay card stock from Stampin' Up that I stamped with the A Faithful Letter background stamp with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I wanted a distressed look so I didn't cover the stamp completely with ink ~ just inked up spots here and there. The Rustic Floral papers from Brutus Monroe measure 3-1/2 x 4-3/4". I pulled my color palette for coloring from these beautiful papers.

I stamped the sentiment and new Angie Girl with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink and colored her with the following Copic markers:

Skin / Lips ~ E000, E00, E11; R20, RV32
Hair ~ E43, E44, E47
Nails / Necklace ~ YR05, YR15; R08, R17
Shirt ~ BG13, BG70, BG72
Blanket ~ YR09, YR15, YR20
Background ~ YR15, YR21

I fussy cut around the image leaving a border and then trimmed around the sentiment to fit the pattern paper. The card was finished with a few enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs. A sweet card to send to a friend who is ill or just not feeling well.
