{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 43 ~ Christmas Confetti ~ Twiddler's Nook

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the cutest little snowflake clay bits I think I've ever seen! I used the Christmas Confetti Clay Embellishment Mix from this month's fabulous sponsor, Twiddler's Nook! Our monthly sketch challenges are now Sponsored by some of our favorite crafty companies!  Amanda from Twiddler's Nook has generously offered up a fun prize for {BYSHC} Sketch 43... Winner's Choice - either a $20 gift card to Twiddler's Nook OR a Christmas themed prize package curated by Amanda!! So amazing!! Thanks so much, Amanda!

Twiddler's Nook has an amazing assortment of clay embellishment mixes!! I have a whole bunch in my collection. Some people use them for shaker cards, but I really like to use some of the bits on my cards. I used just a handful of the white snowflakes in the Christmas Confetti Clay Embellishment mix for this card. There's also peppermints and a Christmas mix of sprinkles in this cute mix!

I paired up the cute snowflake clay bits with the adorable Snow Much Fun 6x6 Paper Pad from Doodlebug Designs. I love using paper pads when I'm working with so many layers! The papers are already made to coordinate. I just need to decide which papers I want where! For this card I used the snowflakes for my bottom layer because it has all the colors in it. I broke it up with the purple polka dot papers across the card and then I also used the blue (or is that periwinkle?) and mint papers for my other layers. I mat each of my paper layers with Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I die cut the circles using the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} from Unity. The adorable Snow Cute Doodle-Pop was just the perfect touch for this card! I also added the two snowflakes that came with the Doodle-Pop. Can't go wrong adding cute snowflakes! The sentiment is from the Snow Much Fun Chit Chat package. I just love how this card turned out and it was so easy just following along with the measurements from the sketch.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 43 for the month of March. Loving all the layers in this fun sketch! I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 41 ~ Let it Snow Globe ~ Angie Blom Digital Designs

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm sharing one last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 41 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card featuring the adorable snowman in a snow globe from the Let it Snow Globe Digital Stamp Set from Angie Blom Digital Designs! We're changing things up for 2024 and Angie Blom Digital Designs is Sponsoring our {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 41!! Angie has generously offered up two $15 e-gift certificates in Canadian currency for our Sketch 41 prizes! Woohoo! Thanks again, Angie!

I started my card by combining and resizing the digital stamps from the Let it Snow Globe digi set in a Word Document. I printed them off onto white card stock. I once again remembered to pick out my pattern papers before coloring which made it so much easier when having to pick colors to color up my snow globe.

I paired up the Let it Snow Globe digi stamp with the Milk & Cookies Paper Pad from Doodlebug Designs. The red mat for my top pattern papers is Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up and measures 5 x 3-3/4". The trees paper measures 3-1/8 x 1-1/4". The Merry Christmas paper measures 3-1/8 x 2-1/8". And the hearts paper measures 1-1/2 x 3-1/2". The star paper in the background measures 5-1/2 x 4-1/4". All my measurements are from the {BYSHC} Sketch 41 except for the red mat... I went with a smaller piece than the sketch calls for.

I colored the snow globe with some Copic markers. Fussy cut it on the line and colored the edge of the fussy cut image with a Memento Tuxedo Black markers to make the fussy cutting look nice and neat. The snow globe needed something so I decided to die cut a circle from Real Red card stock using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. I just adhered all the layers to a white A2 card base. No foam tape or anything for this but I did add a couple scraps under the left side of the sentiment so it'll lay flat on the card.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Snowman / Snow / Snowflakes: B000, B00
Hat: N0, N1, N3, N5
Holly: R20, R14, R46, YG11, G14
Scarf: BG000, BG11, BG32
Ornament / Button Hearts: R20, R14, R46
Snow Globe Base: E21, E23, E25
Twine: RV10, RV13

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 41 for the month of January. I am loving this sketch! So many possibilities depending on the papers you use. And the entries this month have been so amazing! I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 37 ~ Candy Cane Lane ~ Doodlebug Design Inc.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 37 for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. Today I'm sharing three quick cards for this month's challenge. My card today features papers and ephemera from Doodlebug Designs... this time I used the Candy Cane Lane Collection!

I found three pattern papers from the Candy Cane Lane 6x6 Paper Pad with very simple designs and basically just one color. I chose the red with the simple snow dots, the white snowflakes, and the pink hearts. I cut these to 5-1/2 x 4-1/4" and adhered each of them to a white A2 top fold card base.

These were such quick cards! I honestly spent more time trying to find my corner rounder punch... which is still missing! I finally settled on using the Slash Stitched Round Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. I die cut the holly, snowflake and house pattern papers using two different dies from that set. I adhered them to the card bases.

I also adhered the sentiments from the Candy Cane Lane Chit Chat Pack. I added foam tape to the back of each of the die cut (ephemera) pieces from the Candy Cane Lane Odds & Ends Pack (snowman and Santa) and the Candy Cane Lane Chit Chat Pack (house). I popped them each up on the cards.

And to finish them all off I added a couple Let It Snow Shape Sprinkles. Still trying to finish off that pack. I think I have 5 or maybe 6 left. Three cute cards and it was so fun to turn the sketch for the pink card.

Here's another look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 37 for the month of September. There's still a couple weeks to play along with this challenge! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog!

Membership Wednesday ~ September 2023 Uniquely Unity From the Herd ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a sweet mini slimline card using the cute farm animal stamp from the fantastic September 2023 Uniquely Unity membership from Unity called From the Herd. So stinkin' cute!!

These cuties fit perfectly on a mini slimline card. My card base measures 6 x 6" and is scored at 3". I paired up the cute farm animals with the Down on the Farm 6x6" paper pack from Doodlebug Design. The blue paper measures 6 x 3". The bandana paper measures 5-7/8" x 2-7/8". I just cut off a tiny bit so the blue paper would border the bandana paper.

The farm animals are stamped with Black Amalgam ink and I colored them up with the following Copic markers:

Chickens: E21, E23, E25, YR21, YR15, RV91, R17
Pig: RV000, RV91
Daisy: RV91, R17
Cow: C00, C1
Goat: W1, W3
Sheep: C00, C1, B91, B95
Goose: Y11, Y15, YR21, YR15
Donkey: W1, W3, W5, RV000, RV91
Background: B0000, B00

I die cut the farm animals using the Tribal Stitched Mini Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. The sentiment was die cut using a die from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies from Unity. I adhered the sentiment directly to the farm animal panel and then I popped up the farm animal panel using foam tape.

Here's a quick look at the Uniquely Unity membership this month! Aren't they just the cutest?! Well, that's it for me today! I'll be back in next week with inspiration for the September 2023 Whit Kit. I hope you'll give me a visit and check out what I share! Until then have an ink-tastic day!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 37 ~ Puggable ~ Angie Blom Digital Designs

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a Christmas card using an adorable digital stamp from Angie Blom Digital Designs called Puggable. Probably THE cutest digital stamp set ever!

A fairly simple card for Sketch 37. Some fun paper layers using a cute pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs called Candy Cane Lane. I adore the colors in these papers and just had to use them for my card.

I cut the blue pattern paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and the tree pattern paper is just a 1/4" smaller measuring at 4 x 5-1/4". I adhered these layers together and then adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base that I turned on it's side. The card base measures 4-1/4 x 11" and it's scored at 5-1/2".

I inserted the pup, sentiment and snowflake all into a Word Document and resized everything. I combined the sentiment with the pup digi. I also changed the color of the snowflake to a nice green. It coordinates nicely with the greens in the pattern paper. And also ties in all the colors since I only used blue, red, and white for the pups hat and scarf.

I die cut the snowflake using a circle die in the Wonky Stitched Circle dies from Gina Marie Designs. I die cut the pup using the Slash Stitched Round Rectangle die, also from Gina Marie Designs. I trimmed off the top of the panel for the pup and adhered it to the card. I popped up the snowflake with foam tape. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the

Pup ~ W0, W1, W3, W5, W7
Hat ~ BG000, BG01, BG15, C00, C1, C3
Scarf ~ R20, R14, R27, C00, C1, C3, BG000, BG01, BG15
Edge ~ C00, C1, C3

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 37 for the month of September. I flipped the sketch for my card and used a smaller circle. I love this sketch because the circle could be the focal piece or the rectangle. The variations are endless! I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 34 ~ Let it Snow Collection ~ Doodlebug Designs Inc.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm sharing one last Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 34 for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. Today is the last day to get your entries in for this month's challenge. My card today features papers and ephemera from Doodlebug Designs... yup, the Let it Snow Collection again!

I shared a card using the Let it Snow Collection for this month's sketch at the beginning of the month and I just couldn't help but make another. I love these papers and the ephemera (die cut pieces) are just too cute! They also make for really quick cards which is such a bonus right now while we're on Summer break.

I created a little background by combining two pattern papers from the Let it Snow 6x6 paper pad. I combined a couple ephemera pieces from the Let it Snow Odds & Ends pack for a little scene and grounded my scene with a sentiment die cut piece from the Let it Snow Chit Chat pack that I popped up with foam tape.

I finished off the card by adding a few snowflake stickers but I can't seem to find the packaging to share which pack they are from. So sorry about that! I know it's from Doodlebug Designs as well... just not sure which collection.

Here's one last look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #34 for the month of June. If you have a little time today maybe you can play along but remember to get your entry into the album before 11:59pm PST to count towards the challenge. {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 34 ~ Let it Snow Collection ~ Doodlebug Designs Inc.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers! Today I'm sharing a Christmas card with a sweet little scene that I created using adorable Let it Snow die cuts and pattern papers from Doodlebug Design. Still trying to use up those die cut/ephemera pieces and the papers.

So this month's sketch is very simple with a whole slew of possibilities... it can be super CAS {Clean & Simple} or you can build a scene within the focal panel like I did.

I've followed the measurements for the sketch. Now, I didn't specify the measurements for the two separate pieces of the focal panel on the sketch... I left that up to the card maker to decide for their card. I had fun using my pattern papers on my focal panel to create a background for my little scene. The top paper measures 3 x 2-1/2" and the bottom gingham paper measures 3 x 1-3/4".

I used two of the die cut/ephemera pieces from the Let it Snow Odds & Ends pack and a sentiment from the Let it Snow Chit Chat pack. The ephemera pieces are adhered directly to the card while the sentiment is popped up with foam tape. I just love how quick this card came together and I can't wait to play with this fun sketch some more.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 33 ~ Revisiting Let it Snow ~ Doodlebug Designs Inc.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm sharing another Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 33 for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. And I've dug back into my Let it Snow goodies from Doodlebug Designs. I still have A LOT of die cuts/ephemera for this collection and really want to use it up.

I paired up the cute house and penguin die cuts/ephemera from the Let it Snow Odds & Ends pack with the Happy Holidays sentiment from the Let it Snow Chit Chat pack. And I used the Let it Snow 6x6 paper pad, as well.

The red background is a bit bigger than the sketch calls for. It measures 3-1/4 x 4". And the blue gingham isn't a full strip across the card. My scrap was too small so I cut it in half and adhered it on either side... the house covers up the space in between.

All my layers, excluding the sentiment, are adhered directly to a white A2 top fold card base measuring 4-1/4 x 11"; scored at 5-1/2". The sentiment is popped up using a thin foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch 33 for the month of May!

Sweet Easter Gnome ~ March Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing my last bit of inspiration for the Unity March Sketch Challenge that I'm hosting in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group. I'm sharing a cute Easter card using the super adorable Sweet Easter Gnome stamps. And I'm sharing another bonus card so be sure to read through to the end!

Eeep!! Isn't this Easter card just the cutest?! It turned out better than I hoped. Paired up the adorable Sweet Easter Gnome with the Hippity Hoppity paper pad from Doodlebug Design. I did consider using the new Plaid Builder {layering stencils} to make my own plaid but I'm afraid that time was not on my side so I went with the pattern paper.

The cute little clouds in the background are from the March 2023 Kit of the Month called A Good Man & Some Butterflies. I just adore the detail in these cute clouds!!

The Easter gnome and clouds were stamped with Black Amalgam ink and then colored up with Copic markers. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the adorable gnome:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Beard ~ C00, C1, C3
Hat ~ RV10, RV13
Ears / Feet ~ R000, R00, R20, C00, C1, C3
Easter Egg ~ YG11, G14, BG10, BG23, YR21, YR15, RV10, RV13

This time I decided not to use a die for my focal image. Just went with straight edges but I used a corner rounder punch for both of my focal image layers. The ground for my gnome was created by die cutting the green grass papers with the Land Borders Die Set from Newton's Nook Designs.

You can check out my process video here... Sweet Easter Gnome | March Sketch Challenge | Unity Stamp Co.

Also sharing a BONUS card!! Our family has been considering get a kitty and I am smitten with the tortoiseshell cats. Love the pretty mix of colors in their fur.

I found a cute picture online and tried to replicate the coloring… it turned out okay. I do like how the eyes turned out though. Here’s a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the kitty:

Fur ~ YR21, YR15, YR16, N0, N2, N4, N6, C00, C1, C3
Nose ~ R00, R20, R14
Ears ~ R00, R20, N0, N2
Eyes ~ YG11, YR21, E00

I die cut the Copic colored kitty with the third largest die from the Big and Little Pierced Chain Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. Another paper pad of Spring papers made my background and my mat for the kitty layers. I used the Spring Market paper pad from Carta Bella. The sentiment was stamped, trimmed and then popped up on the card with thin foam tape. A few touches of white gel pen on the eyes, nose, and whiskers finish off my card.

Here's another look at the sketch! Today and tomorrow are the last days to play along with the sketch!! Please know that the sketch is meant to inspire and not require. Feel free to alter it to work for your creation just as I did for both of my cards! Most importantly have some inky fun! I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to share your cards in the Unity Show & Tell group and also add them to the sketch challenge album in the group to be entered for a prize!! I have had so much fun hosting the challenges in the group for the last couple of months. Hope you all had fun too! Thank you all so much for playing along!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 31 ~ Let it Snow ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers! Today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card using my favorite Doodlebug Design collection called Let it Snow.

I used a fun mix of pattern papers from the Let it Snow 6x6 paper pad to create my background and layers for my card.

And then I searched through my Let it Snow Chit Chat and Let it Snow Odds & Ends die cut pieces. I had a few different die cuts laid out on my desk including the cute Santas in my photo. But once I saw the sentiment... I just HAD to use the Yeti with this sentiment. Too cute!

I do have a bit of a tip for the the layers in the sketch. I cut a scrap piece of card stock to 3-3/8 x 4-3/8" and adhered my two pattern papers to it {the rainbow polka dots and snowflakes paper}. This was way easier than trying to adhere those two papers to the gingham layer separately and get them centered on the card front.

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch 31 for the month of March!
I hope you'll join us and play along with the sketch! If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog!

Halloween Series 2022 ~ Hocus Pocus ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another card for my Halloween Series 2022!! All of us card makers have those Must Have Uninked Stamps sitting on our shelves just waiting to be inked! I decided for my Halloween series this year I'm inking up a few of those dusty and neglected stamp sets. My first card was using a cute stamp from Not 2 Shabby called Happy Halloween... if you missed it, you can check out that card here. Today I'm sharing a sweet card using the Hocus Pocus stamp set from The Greeting Farm. This was a special preorder set that The Greeting Farm offered a while ago. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing it in the shop right now. I just adore Halloween stamps and the witches in this set were irresistible! I had to have them!

I paired up this adorable witch with the Pumpkin Party 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug Design. These are some of my favorite Halloween papers. I just love the bright combination of colors in this paper pad.

My card design was inspired by one of the sketches I've shared in my Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. This was last month's sketch and I didn't get to play with it very much so I wanted to use it for this card.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this cutie:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Eyes ~ YG11, G02
Hair ~ YR21, YR15, YR68, YR27
Hat ~ N0, N2, N4, N6, V000, V12, V15, V17, YG11, YG23, G14
Dress ~ V000, V12, V15, V17, YG11, YG23, G14
Shoes ~ N0, N2, N4, N6

I only made a couple changes to the sketch... the polka dot papers are a little smaller measuring 3-7/8 x 1-7/8" and the stars papers measures 3-1/2 x 1-1/2". And then I placed the heat embossed sentiment underneath the circle element. It almost looks like the little witch is in a crystal ball. Ha! That's a total accident but so fun!

I think this turned out pretty cute! I hope you like it too!
I'll be back next week with my last Halloween card for my Halloween Series 2022!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal
