{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #9 ~ Sugar Cookie Christmas ~ Prima Marketing

Hello there crafty friend!

Happy Friday!! I am back with my weekly Christmas card and this time I'm using some sweet Vintage style ephemera and papers from Prima Marketing!! My go-to item for any card that I need in a hurry is ephemera... and I couldn't resist the gorgeous Sugar Cookie Christmas collection from Prima Marketing. The soft pinks and blues and those fabulous vintage images... oh my heart!!

Isn't this just precious?! I chose the papers first with the sketch in mind, of course, and then I had to decide which ephemera pieces to use. The 'acme soap' piece was perfect for the slanted focal piece and that deer was an obvious choice since I already had this paper picked out!

I did end up switching around the background papers though. I originally had the deer paper under the focal piece, but you couldn't see any of the deer so I flipped the double sided papers and voila! Love it! I mat the 'acme soap' ephemera piece and the delicate leaves paper with Sweet Blush card stock from Papertrey Ink... coordinates perfectly!! I adhered the mat layers together and then wrapped it with the beautiful Tinsel Trim just taping the ends to the back of the card stock. I added a gorgeous Say It In Crystals embellishment with just a little Ranger Multi Media Matte to help it stick over the Tinsel Trim and then added two more near the top. I popped up the deer ephemera with foam squares. I cut a diagonal on the left side of the Merry Christmas sentiment and added a couple layers of scrap card stock to the bottom portion behind the sentiment so it'll sit flat on the card. All done! I love it!

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 9. I'll be back next week with another Christmas card using this fun sketch! I hope you'll come check it out.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Happy Owlidays ~ Sunny Studio Stamps

 Hello there crafty friend!

I'm so excited... not only am I back to share another Christmas card for my stash using the March Sketch from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group, it's also time for the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop of 2021!!! I always love participating in these hops and today I actually have two cards to share for the first day of the hop! Let's get to it!

I used the adorable Happy Owlidays stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps and paired it up with the super cute Winter Market papers from Carta Bella. That sweet little owl looked like he needed a little cuppa... isn't he just the cutest?!

I used the patterned papers for my layers... I even die cut the circles from the bottom card front layer. My favorite trick when using those coordinating papers in a paper pack.

I used the following Copic markers to color up this cutie...

Owl ~ W00, W2, YR15, YR68, C00, C2
Hat ~ C00, C2, R000, R11, R14, R27
Scarf ~ B00, B02, G12, G43, C00, C2
Wreath ~ G12, G43, G46
Bow / Berries ~ R000, R11, R14, R27

A quick look at the March sketch.

And my second card... when I saw this cute cut apart in the paper pack I just had to use it for another card using Sketch #7 that we featured in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group for the month of February. I love when a good sketch makes for a fun and easy card!

To finish off the card, I wrapped the card front with some New Leaf Topnotch Twill Tape ribbon from Papertrey Ink. I then adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base.

And a look at the cards together... I hope that you've been inspired to pull out some of your holiday stamps and papers and start building your stash of holiday cards now.

Be sure to check out the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop!! I always have such a great time participating in this hop!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Say Cheese Christmas ~ Simple Stories

 Hello there crafty friend!
Oh my goodness... I almost didn't make it this week with my weekly Christmas card to share! Thank goodness I have the adorable Say Cheese Christmas ephemera pieces in my collection! They made for such a quick card!

Isn't that just THE cutest card?! I adore these sweet ephemera pieces from Simple Stories. I especially love the touch of Disney in the Say Cheese Christmas collection. I just adore all things Disney!! I started with a card front of Wild Wasabi from Stampin' Up! The patterned paper is also from the Say Cheese Christmas collection. I trimmed that down to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8". I adhered it to the card front and then adhered the entire panel to a white A2 top-fold card base.

I die cut a 3-1/4" Real Red circle and a 2-3/8" True Black circle. Since I had already adhered my patterned paper I laid the circles down on my card and marked the two sides of the circle to trim off. I cut those in my Tim Holtz Tonic Guillotine Paper Trimmer and adhered them to the card. To finish off the card I adhered the sweet little girl from the Say Cheese Christmas Happy Kids Bits & Pieces and the Happy Holidays sentiment from the Say Cheese Christmas Bits & Pieces. Done! So quick!

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 8. I'll be back next week with another Christmas card using this fun sketch! I hope you'll come check it out.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Cuddlebug Frog ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and I'm sharing the card I created using the adorable Cuddlebug Frog from Unity Stamp Co
Isn't it just the cutest frog in his little Santa hat?!

The paper I used for this card are from The Holiday Collection by Avery Elle. I went with the green stripes to compliment the frog and then to add some red to coordinate with the hat I chose the polka dot red papers to mat the circles. To finish off the background I added some die cut snowflakes from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Winter Side-Order Thinlit dies.

I'm really loving the mix of diagonal stripes and circles for this one. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch! Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Hat ~ R000, R14, R37, C00, C2, C3
Frog ~ YG11, YG17, G14
Grounding ~ N0, N2

And here's a look at the sketch! Fun, right? I thought we'd change things up and play with circles this time. You can check out inspiration for this sketch over in the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge Album. I think this will be another good one for using up some of the Christmas paper hoard... gotta make room for the new papers released this year, right?

I just love how this cute card turned out!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 ~ Santa & the Mrs. ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!

I have had such a busy week... I wasn't sure that I would make it with this weeks Christmas card, but thankfully I already had this sweet design started so I was able to find time to finish it. I'm still trying to use up that Milk & Cookies paper pad by Doodlebug Design I've been hoarding. I still have lots and lots of paper left but I'm making progress! The sweet Santa & the Mrs. stamps from Unity Stamp Co. were also in the pile of stamps I wanted to create holiday cards for last year... so it only made sense to pair it up with these papers! Let's check out the card...

I always like to play around with sketches and change things up a bit... for this one I've altered the measurements to work for a 5 x 5" square card. The holly patterned paper measures 2-1/2 x 4-3/4" and the brick is 2-1/8 x 4-3/4". I love how the Santa is over the brick paper like he's going down a chimney and Mrs. Claus has that little holly in her hair that plays off the holly paper. Perfection!

I chose not to mat the papers and just use a 5 x 5" Real Red card front for the card. I adhered that to a 5 x 10" white card base that I scored at 5". The main focal piece was stamped on a large scrap of white card stock and then colored with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E0000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair ~ C00 C2
Clothes ~ R000, R14, R27, N0, N2, N3, N4, N6, Y06, Y17
Gingerbread Man ~ E21, E23, E25
Holly ~ YG11, G14, G46, R14
Santa's List ~ N0, N3

I just realized I didn't color the sky behind them! Ooops! Well, I did add a little C00 and C2 for the snow. Lol! Anywho... I die cut the colored image with the Stitched Square Stacklets die from Taylored Expressions and mat it with a 3 x 3" piece of Real Red card stock. I stamped the Merry & Bright sentiment with Wow Clear embossing ink and heat embossed Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I trimmed the sentiment and cut the ends for a banner. I adhered the top part of the sentiment to the focal piece with Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue and then popped the whole thing up with foam tape. Love it!

Here's another look at the sketch for {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 ~ Milk & Cookies ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing five cards that I created for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 using the adorable Milk & Cookies papers by Doodlebug Design!! I adore Doodlebug Design papers and these ones I've been hoarding... but no more! I'm trying to use up these papers so when the new designs come out this year I'll have room for them! Woohoo!

Here's a look at all five cards together. Aren't they just the cutest?! I used the cut-apart papers for my focal pieces... such easy cards to make. It did take some time to get all the papers and card stock cut, but other than that and adhering all the layers... super quick!

For my first card I actually flipped the sketch... kinda. I kept the bottom layers {striped and brick papers} the same as in the sketch, but flipped the focal piece. It definitely worked for this design! So cute! I love that adorable gingerbread man! I used Pool Party and Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up for my mats and card front. And also used a scrap of white card stock to mat the focal piece.

The sentiments for all of these cards are also part of the cut-aparts in the paper pack. They worked perfectly for this card sketch too! I had fun mixing and matching the papers for all the cards. I used Real Red from Stampin' Up and New Leaf from Papertrey Ink for this card.

Now this one isn't very Christmassy, so I may add another sentiment to the card to give it more of a holiday feel... OR I might just give it to my hubby for Valentine's Day. Not sure. Either way... its adorable and also came together super quick! I used Pool Party and Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up! for this one, as well.

Eeep! How cute is this one?! I love that sweet cake! I chose the hearts and polka dots for the background papers to play off of the hearts and polka dots on and around the cake. Just perfect! Now for this one, I used Real Red card stock again, but I also wanted the pink in the papers to pop so I used Lovely Lady card stock from Papertrey Ink. Isn't that sentiment strip just perfect?! I added a couple of tiny scrap layers on either end of the strip to keep it level with the focal piece. Love!

And the last one... which is probably my most favorite! Love that cute Santa! I used Pool Party and Real Red card stock again for this one. The sentiment is also a cut-apart but I did make it a bit more sturdy by adhering it to a layer of red card stock. A trick I used for most of the sentiment strips.

Well, I'm definitely ahead this month for my goal of a Christmas card a week! I'm super happy with how all of these cute cards turned out. Check your stash of Christmas papers... you may just have some with these quick cut-aparts too! They are perfect for this month's sketch challenge. I hope you'll come join us over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and start building your stash of holiday cards along with us!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 ~ By Golly Be Jolly ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and I'm sharing the card I created using the adorable By Golly Be Jolly stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. I just adore the festive little birdies in this stamp set!

All of my paper layers on the base of the card are patterned papers from Doodlebug Design called Milk & Cookies... I love these sweet papers and I'm really trying not to hoard the papers in my stash and use them so I kind of forced myself to cut into these.

I decided to have this one sweet birdie peeking in as if to say... "have a dashing good holiday". I chose colors from the papers to use in coloring up this cutie. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Hat/Antlers ~ R000, R14, R27, C00, C2, E21, E23, E27
Hair/Nose ~ Y000, Y11, E21, E23, R000, R14, R27
Body/Legs ~ R0000, RV10, RV02, E21, E23
Outline ~ BG10

Here's a look at the sketch! You can check out inspiration for this sketch over in the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge Album. I think this will be another good one for using up some of my Christmas papers... gotta make room for the new papers released this year, right?

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #6 ~ Full of Merry ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm popping in with a couple cards I've created for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #6 over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. I used the beautiful Farmhouse Christmas papers and Full of Merry stamp set, both from Unity Stamp Co. These papers were perfect paired up with this fun sentiment!

I flipped the sketch for this one. I also added a Cherry Red mat to help the reds in the paper and the sentiment to pop a bit more in the card. I stamped the sentiment with Cherry Red ink from Gina K. Designs.

I fussy cut the stack of gifts from the papers and mat them on white card stock so they would pop a bit more on the card. I also popped up the stack of gifts with foam tape. The sentiment is die cut with a cute stitched die included in the Small Stitched Envelope dies by Lawn Fawn. I then die cut a piece of kraft card stock, cut it in half and then adhered the two pieces to both ends of the sentiment. I also used a corner punch from Stampin' Up! on the Farmhouse Christmas papers... but I think it's retired.

Here's a look at the current {BYSHC} Sketch. So many possibilities with this sketch!
And I actually have plans for another card to share next week!

I shared this card when the challenge started on the 1st. This card follows the sketch  more closely. I used the Farmhouse Christmas papers and the Full of Merry sentiment on this card as well. The little flag is a piece of Dark Chocolate card stock from Papertrey Ink. I fussy cut the pine cones and needles from the Farmhouse Christmas papers leaving a tiny border around the image. I think it adds a sweet touch to the card!

I hope you'll come join us in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and play along with our challenge. I have a personal goal to create one Christmas card a week this year so I'll have a nice jump start on my holiday cards when it comes time for them later this year.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #5 ~ Warm Wishes ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back again today to share a little last minute Christmas card inspiration using the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #5 sketch!! This sketch can make such a quick card just by utilizing all of those pretty Christmas patterned papers that we all have in our stash!!

I just had to use this cute little bear from The Greeting Farm... he's in the Warm Wishes stamp set. Isn't he just THE cutest?! I love him! I also stamped the cute little mug from the Cozy With You stamp set, also from The Greeting Farm. Anywho, since I already had him picked out for my card I had to find a cute patterned paper to compliment him. I chose the adorable I Love Winter papers from Echo Park.

I stamped the little bear with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored him up with the
following Copic markers:

Bear ~ W00, W2, R00, R20, N1, N7
Hat/Scarf/Mug ~ B0000, B41, N0, N2, N3
Sweater ~ R000, R14, R27

Here's a quick look at the sketch... you can check it out in the Build Your Stash Holiday

I'm also entering my card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers National Cocoa Day Guest Designer search... I'm such a huge fan of the Coffee Loving Papercrafters group and of a yummy mug of cocoa.

I stamped the sentiment with Powder Blue ink from Gina K. Designs but then decided to go darker since the background paper is a dark blue. So I stamped right over the Powder Blue ink with In the Navy ink also from Gina K. Designs. I fussy cut the bear and mug and then I trimmed down the sentiment cutting a flag at the end. I adhered them all together and then popped them up with stampin' dimensionals. Such a cute card and it didn't take long at all! I hope I've given you a little inspiration for those last minute Christmas cards!
