Spring into Christmas {BYSHC} Hop ~ Magic of Christmas ~ Polka Dot Orchard

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I am sharing another Christmas card using the Magic of Christmas digi stamp from Sponsor Polka Dot Orchard for the Spring into Christmas 2021 {BYSHC} Hop!! This digi stamp has a special place in my heart as it's the first ever digi stamp that I illustrated for Polka Dot Orchard. I just love it!

I wanted the digis to be the focal piece of this whole card so I made them pretty big. The hat was actually print separately from the boots. I colored the images and fussy cut the hat and then trimmed off a bit of the bottom so it would look like the hat was sitting right on the boots. I think it turned out pretty good. Here's a list of the Copic markers I used to color these up:

Hat ~ R000, R14, R27, C00, C2
Boots ~ N0, N2, N4, N6, C00, C2, Y15, Y28
Ground / Background ~ N2, N4, E0000, E00, E30

I die cut the boots with the Big & Little Chain Rectangle dies from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs. I mat the die cut panel on a 3-3/4 x 5" piece of Kraft card stock. I trimmed the sentiment and mat it to fit just inside of the die piercing... it's measures 3-3/16 x 5/8" with a 3-5/16 x 3/4" Kraft mat.

The papers in the background are from the My Favorite Christmas paper pad by Echo Park Paper. I think they work just perfectly with this sweet image. To finish off this card I added a little holly die cut that I had in my stash from a previous project. The dies I used are from the Wreath die set by Gina Marie Designs but it looks like that die has been replaced with a new Wreath die set.

That's it for me today! Go check out the fabulous sale over at Polka Dot Orchard... so many wonderful digital stamps!! Polka Dot Orchard also has fantastic stencils in different sizes AND some really cool laser engraved wood ornaments!!

Have you hopped over to the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog to check out all the amazing inspiration being shared?! So much fab inspiration!! I hope you'll join us in building our stash of holiday cards!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #9 ~ Sugar Cookie Christmas ~ Prima Marketing

Hello there crafty friend!

Happy Friday!! I am back with my weekly Christmas card and this time I'm using some sweet Vintage style ephemera and papers from Prima Marketing!! My go-to item for any card that I need in a hurry is ephemera... and I couldn't resist the gorgeous Sugar Cookie Christmas collection from Prima Marketing. The soft pinks and blues and those fabulous vintage images... oh my heart!!

Isn't this just precious?! I chose the papers first with the sketch in mind, of course, and then I had to decide which ephemera pieces to use. The 'acme soap' piece was perfect for the slanted focal piece and that deer was an obvious choice since I already had this paper picked out!

I did end up switching around the background papers though. I originally had the deer paper under the focal piece, but you couldn't see any of the deer so I flipped the double sided papers and voila! Love it! I mat the 'acme soap' ephemera piece and the delicate leaves paper with Sweet Blush card stock from Papertrey Ink... coordinates perfectly!! I adhered the mat layers together and then wrapped it with the beautiful Tinsel Trim just taping the ends to the back of the card stock. I added a gorgeous Say It In Crystals embellishment with just a little Ranger Multi Media Matte to help it stick over the Tinsel Trim and then added two more near the top. I popped up the deer ephemera with foam squares. I cut a diagonal on the left side of the Merry Christmas sentiment and added a couple layers of scrap card stock to the bottom portion behind the sentiment so it'll sit flat on the card. All done! I love it!

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 9. I'll be back next week with another Christmas card using this fun sketch! I hope you'll come check it out.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #9 ~ Mittens in Winter ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and I'm sharing the card I created using the sweet penguin from the Mittens in Winter stamp set along with the Winter Wishes sentiment from the Stay Warm stamp set... both from Unity Stamp Co.

Oh my goodness... isn't that little penguin just too stinkin' cute?! I have had this stamp for quite some time now and I think this may be the first time that I've inked it up! I have to say, inking up all these neglected stamps has really been a surprise benefit to making a Christmas card a week.

I colored the adorable penguin with the following Copic markers:

Penguin ~ W00, W2, YR15, YR68, N1, N3, N6
Hearts ~ R14, R21, R27
Hat / Mittens ~ RV21, RV23, C00, C2, B0000, B00
Sky ~ B0000, B00
Snow ~ BG0000, BG000

And finally here's a look at sketch #9... I can't wait to see what you all create with this sketch! Please don't feel limited by the measurements in the sketch. I actually didn't use them for my card since the penguin was a little big and I changed up the sentiment a bit too by adding string. I hope the sketch inspires you to pull out some of your neglected holiday stamps and play along!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the papers I used for this card. I used the cute Christmas Town papers by Doodlebug Designs and mat them with Hibiscus Burst card stock from Papertrey Ink. The card base is Kraft card stock, also from Papertrey Ink. And that fun string is the Ivory Burlap string that I got at Unity Stamp Co. but it looks like it's out of stock again.

Well, that's it for me today... since the start of the April sketch has landed on a Thursday, I won't be back tomorrow with another Christmas card. I will be back next Friday, April 9th with a fun Christmas card and I hope you'll stop by to visit. And I invite you to join us over in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and start building your stash of holiday cards along with us!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Poinsettia Wishes ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another Christmas card... keeping to my goal of at least one per week! Woohoo! My stash is growing! Today, I'm sharing a card using a sweet Itty Bitty stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called Poinsettia Wishes. The Itty Bitty line of stamps from Unity are actually perfect for this sketch because most of them have an image and a sentiment included in the set. I decided to use this one because I adore poinsettias for Christmas.

And I paired this pretty stamp with the beautiful Rustic Wishes papers also from Unity Stamp Co. I chose to just mat the circles and the papers with True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink... just keeping the design simple here and letting the pretty paper and this stamp shine!

I stamped both images with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored in the poinsettia and holly cluster with the following Copic markers ~ R000, R14, R27, Y11, Y17, YG11, YG17, G14, G46, C00, and C2.
I die cut the sentiment and colored image with circle dies, mat them on slightly larger True Black mats and then trimmed off the one edge. I flipped the sketch for this one covering mostly white space on the patterned paper and adhered the circles. To finish it off I added a few black enamel dots. This was actually a pretty quick card with the coloring taking up most of my time. I love when cards are quick!

Here's another look at the March sketch... there's still lots of time to play along with the sketch challenge in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Come join us and start building your stash of holiday cards.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Say Cheese Christmas ~ Simple Stories

 Hello there crafty friend!
Oh my goodness... I almost didn't make it this week with my weekly Christmas card to share! Thank goodness I have the adorable Say Cheese Christmas ephemera pieces in my collection! They made for such a quick card!

Isn't that just THE cutest card?! I adore these sweet ephemera pieces from Simple Stories. I especially love the touch of Disney in the Say Cheese Christmas collection. I just adore all things Disney!! I started with a card front of Wild Wasabi from Stampin' Up! The patterned paper is also from the Say Cheese Christmas collection. I trimmed that down to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8". I adhered it to the card front and then adhered the entire panel to a white A2 top-fold card base.

I die cut a 3-1/4" Real Red circle and a 2-3/8" True Black circle. Since I had already adhered my patterned paper I laid the circles down on my card and marked the two sides of the circle to trim off. I cut those in my Tim Holtz Tonic Guillotine Paper Trimmer and adhered them to the card. To finish off the card I adhered the sweet little girl from the Say Cheese Christmas Happy Kids Bits & Pieces and the Happy Holidays sentiment from the Say Cheese Christmas Bits & Pieces. Done! So quick!

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 8. I'll be back next week with another Christmas card using this fun sketch! I hope you'll come check it out.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #8 ~ Cuddlebug Frog ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and I'm sharing the card I created using the adorable Cuddlebug Frog from Unity Stamp Co
Isn't it just the cutest frog in his little Santa hat?!

The paper I used for this card are from The Holiday Collection by Avery Elle. I went with the green stripes to compliment the frog and then to add some red to coordinate with the hat I chose the polka dot red papers to mat the circles. To finish off the background I added some die cut snowflakes from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Winter Side-Order Thinlit dies.

I'm really loving the mix of diagonal stripes and circles for this one. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch! Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Hat ~ R000, R14, R37, C00, C2, C3
Frog ~ YG11, YG17, G14
Grounding ~ N0, N2

And here's a look at the sketch! Fun, right? I thought we'd change things up and play with circles this time. You can check out inspiration for this sketch over in the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge Album. I think this will be another good one for using up some of the Christmas paper hoard... gotta make room for the new papers released this year, right?

I just love how this cute card turned out!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 ~ More Milk & Cookies ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with one last Christmas card using sketch #7 for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #7 in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. And yes, I just had to use the adorable Milk & Cookies papers from Doodlebug Design again!! I really am trying to use up these papers... I still have SO much!! Anywho... this was another super quick card!

No joke! It took me longer to decide if I wanted to go landscape or portrait for this one more than anything else. The papers were easy... since the main piece is busy with Santa and the fun Christmas scene I wanted to go with less busy papers for my background panels. The tan paper is kind of busy with images but not in color so I think it works well as a background. I have the papers mat on a piece of kraft card stock and then a mat of Real Red card stock and a card base of kraft card stock.

The main focal piece is also a paper that is included in the paper pad. I had already cut into this paper to use the other side of the double sided paper but I'd been looking at this one piece trying to figure out a way to use it in this sketch. The Stitched Arch STAX from My Favorite Things was the perfect dies to die cut the focal piece and work around the portion that I had already used. Woohoo! I also used another cut apart sentiment from the paper pad. I trimmed down the Seasons Greetings and adhered it to a die cut piece of kraft card stock. I adhered it to the bottom of the main piece and then popped up the whole piece. It almost looks like a snow globe which is why I added some shimmer to the Santa scene.

It's so hard to get a good photo of the shimmer though. I used a Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen for the shimmer and in person it really is like a snow globe! You can see bits of the shimmer in each of the photos or maybe I'm imagining it. LOL Hopeful thinking!

Here's another look at the {BYSHC} Sketch #7.
There's just a couple more days to play along! Head over to the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog to see more inspiration using this fun and super easy sketch!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #6 ~ A Time of Peace ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with another Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch #6... sharing my last card for the January sketch challenge. There's only a couple more days to play along! My card today features the adorable A Time of Peace stamp set from Unity. I paired this stamp set up with the Echo Park's Wise Men Still Seek Him papers and the light blue paper is from the Carta Bella Santa's Workshop papers.

I had set aside a stack of Christmas stamps that I wanted to make cards with way back in November but I never got around to creating cards with those stamps so since I've made the goal of creating a Christmas card a week... I've been able to pull those stamps from that stack and this adorable A Time of Peace stamp was in that stack. So glad I was able to finally ink it up!

I stamped the sweet angel and sheep with VersaFine Onyx black ink on Canson XL 140lb watercolor paper and used ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers to color it in. I die cut the watercolored image with a stitched rectangle die and decided not to mat it. I die cut a few stitched fishtail flags from the two paper packs with the Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX dies from My Favorite Things. I like how the mix of papers look on the side. I added some scrap papers behind the focal image so it was adhered level on the card. I masked the sentiment and stamped it so I could die cut it with a circle die and popped it up on the card with foam tape.

As I mentioned above there's only a couple more days to play along with the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #6 so be sure to join us in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group and check out the challenge!! We'd love to have you join us in the fun!
