Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Winter Cardinal ~ Pink & Main

 Hello there crafty friend!
I couldn't help myself I'm sneaking in another card for the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party! So I've played with this adorable Winter Cardinals Stamp Set from our lovely Sponsor Pink & Main a couple of times now. And I'm happy to say that with this card, I have stamped all of the adorable cardinals! How fun is that!? It's not often that I stamp every stamp from a stamp set.

I stamped the adorable cardinal using Memento Tuxedo Black ink in my mini misti with the Pressure Pal from our awesome Sponsor Twiddler's Nook. I love this tool! It comes in handy when my hands are hurting. I colored up the adorable Winter Cardinals using my Copic markers and die cut it using the X Stitched Circle die from our lovely Sponsor Gina Marie Designs. Unfortunately, I'm not finding this awesome die set on the website. I mat the cardinal with a black circle but it was in my file folder of black card stock. No idea what I used to die cut it though I would guess I used the Nesting Circles Dies from Sponsor Waffle Flower.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Cardinal: R20, R14, R46, C00, C1, C3, YR15
Scarf: C00, C1, C3, YG11, G24, G46
Holly: YG11, G24, G46, R20, R14, R46
Snow: C00, C1, C3

I'm also playing along with the Color Hues Challenge today! Red and Green are so perfect for a Christmas card! This fun challenge is open until July 29th, if you want to play along!

The fun background was created using two dies from Pink & Main. I die cut New Leaf card stock from Papertrey Ink using the Plaid Cover Die Panel A. And then I die cut Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink using the Plaid Cover Die Panel B. These fabulous dies also come at a bit of a discount in a bundle called the Plaid Cover Dies Bundle. I adhered them over the front of a black A2 card base of True Black card stock also from Papertrey Ink using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our fab Sponsor Therm O Web.

I found a scrap of black card stock that was the width I was looking for but wasn't quite the length so I just cut it in half. I heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom piece. I prepped the card stock using the TE Anti-Static Powder Tool from Sponsor Taylored Expressions. And then I stamped the sentiment using the Sugar Cube White Pigment Ink from Taylored Expressions. I added some Alabaster White Embossing Powder and melted the powder with my Wagner Precision heat tool. I actually forgot to wipe away the excess powder... that's why it's so visible in the photo. Ugh. No time to redo! So just imagine it's all cleaned off. ;)

I adhered the wide strip of black card stock on the top and bottom of the card and then I used iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (white) from our lovely Sponsor Therm O Web to pop the cardinal circle up on the card. I finished off the card with three green Flat Back Rhinestones from Sponsor Twiddler's Nook.

My card design is inspired by a past sketch... the {BYSHC} Sketch 26. This is a classic sketch! I thought it would be perfect with this fun background and the circle focal image.

Have you stopped by the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared?! I've been inspired by so many of the cards! That's why I just had to make so many extras! LOL! I sure hope you'll stop by and check it out! Have an ink-credible day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ More Cards with Let it Snow ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch 26 from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. I shared a couple cards earlier this month using the Let it Snow collection from Doodlebug Design and while I was making them I realized I had another Let it Snow paper pad. So I decided to make a couple more cards using the collection. So today I'm sharing a couple more cards using a couple more adorable Doodlebug Doodle Pops.

I cut my layers and adhered them all together. I cut (2) 1/8" strips of white card stock and adhered them along the edge of the Santa paper - a trick I love to do rather than matting the pattern paper. It makes for a less bulky card.

I removed the backing from the Santa Doodlebug Pop and adhered it to a white stitched circle die cut. I also added a couple hearts from the Let it Snow Shape Sprinkles stickers pack. Since the Santa Doodlebug Pop has some dimension to it I decided not to pop up the focal piece and just adhered it to the card.

The sentiment is a cut apart sentiment from the Let it Snow paper pad that I trimmed and mat on a scrap of white card stock. I adhered the sentiment directly to the card front and then I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base.

I just love this cute polar bear and squirrel Doodlebug Pop!! I decided for my second card to turn the sketch... what do you think?

I think it's really cute turned on the side. I moved the sentiment just under the striped paper. I think it pops a bit better there.

Do you have a favorite?! I don't know if I can pick... I really love that Santa but the critters in the second card are just too cute!

Here's another look at the {BYSHC} Sketch 26!
I hope that my cards today have inspired you to pull out those Christmas goodies and make some cards! This year just keeps flying by! The holidays will be here before we know it! {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ Winter Birdie Swag ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 today because it's an adorable new Christmas stamp that was just released at Unity Stamp Co. and it's called Winter Birdie Swag! Isn't he just THE cutest bird?!? I just adore him!

I paired him up with the Simple Vintage Country Christmas 6x8 paper pad from Simple Stories. I think the polka dots worked well with the pom poms on his hat and the berries on the tree. And to break up the pretty polka dots I went with a red sentiment paper. The 1/8" strips of the green paper add just a touch more green to compliment the green from the polka dots.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this sweet bird:

Bird ~ W00, W1, W3
Hat ~ YG11, G24, G46
Pom Poms ~ C00, C2, C3
Branch ~ E55, E57, E59
Berries ~ R20, R14, R27

I die cut the cute Winter Birdie Swag with a die from the X Stitched Circles dies from Gina Marie Designs. Now I had some fun with Sketch 26 this time and made it into a Fun Fold Card... yay!! I just love how it turned out too! I think you can see the bit of shadow under the right side of the focal piece... the card opens on that side and the polka dot paper continues under there on another flap for the card. I did a little boomerang video showing the card opened. You can see that below.

Such a fun twist on the sketch! The card base measures 5-1/2 x 11"; scored at 3-1/2" and 7-3/4".

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ Shakin' Things Up ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 and this time I'm using one of my most favorite stamps from Unity called Shakin' Things Up! The adorable owls from Unity have been some of my most favorite stamps and I collect snow globes so this one was a must!! I just adore it! And it's not super Christmassy so really it could be used for different occasions.

I chose to go with a wintry Christmas card for this one. I happened to color it up before picking my papers but with so little color other than neutrals I decided to focus on the blue I colored around the edge of the globe. I went searching through my papers and thought the Really Rainbow Christmas paper pack from Lawn Fawn was perfect!

I cut the rainbow snowflakes paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" and adhered it to a white A2 top fold card base. I then adhered the 2-1/2 x 5-1/2" blue with white polka dot paper in the center and then I used a little trick I like for a faux mat. I cut two 1/8" strips of white card stock and adhered them on either side of the blue pattern paper. It breaks up the pattern papers like a mat does but it doesn't have the same bulk.

I fussy cut the snow globe and cleaned up the edges by coloring them with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. It gives the image a nice black edge. I trimmed up the sentiment and adhered it to a scrap of red pattern paper. I popped up both the snow globe and the sentiment on the card with foam tape.

Before I had fussy cut the snow globe I added some glitter. I used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen to add glitter to the top portion of the snow globe. You can see a bit of the glitter around the owls eyes.

And then for the bottom portion of the snow globe where the snow would sit in the snow globe, I used Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter drops to just color in the space. It dried clear and left it all pretty and sparkly! You can see some more of the glitter on the owl in this picture.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ Let it Snow ~ Doodlebug Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch 26 from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group. It seems to be each month I use the adorable Let it Snow collection from Doodlebug Design! I've been working hard to use up all the scraps I have left in my Let it Snow paper pad... well, I found another paper pad!! LOL... I guess I had bought two. So, I'm basically starting over with this goal! But it's actually ok because I have a whole bunch of Let it Snow Doodle Pops and a couple packs of the Ephemera with a lot of die cut pieces so I could use more papers with those for cards. Today I'm sharing a couple cards using the adorable Doodlebug Doodle Pops.

Please forgive the quality of this photo... the acetate on the little Snow Wonder Shaker Pop made it difficult to get a nice photo in my photo box. It almost looks blurred. :( It's so cute in person though!!

I used a scrap of paper from my first paper pad and the card front piece is from the new paper pad. I adhered them together and instead of matting the diagonal stripes paper I cut 1/8" strips of white card stock and adhered that along the edge. This is a really good trick for a faux mat without adding more bulk to the card.

The sentiment is one of the cut apart sentiments from the paper pad. It's mat on a piece of white card stock. Such a cute and easy card... no stamping just cutting and gluing!

My second card using another scrap from my old paper pad and a card front from the new paper pad. I also added the white card stock strips - my faux mat.

The cute little scene here features a few different Doodle Pops - the penguin is from the Playful Penguins Doodle Pop, the tree is from the Special Delivery Doodle Pop, and the bird is from the Polar Pals Doodle Pop. I grounded the little scene using C00 and C2 Copic Markers.

The little snow stickers are from the Let it Snow Shape Sprinkles stickers pack. And the sentiment is another cut apart sentiment from the paper pad.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ Perfect Girl ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new sketch challenge over at Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers and I have a warm and cozy Christmas card to share using a beautiful Angie Girl from Unity Stamp Co. called Perfect GirlI am a huge fan of Angie Blom's girls... this coffee girl is a fave! I started coloring her up a couple months ago at the Missouri/Kansas Unity Get-Together and just recently finished her up. I thought she'd be perfect for this month's sketch.

I paired up this beauty with some really pretty papers from Authentique called Snowfall that I have had in my stash for a long time but I just haven't been able to coordinate well with a stamp. I think they work really well with Perfect Girl and thankfully the colors work well, too.

I thought I had written down the list of Copic markers I used to color up this image but I only have a few written down so I'll list those and then I'll list what I think I used for the other:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair ~ E70, E71, E77, E79
Hat ~ R20, R14, R27, R37
Mug/Saucer ~ BG000, BG10, BG23
Coffee ~ E21, E23, E25, C00

Not sure about these...
Sweater ~ BG70, BG72, BG75, R20, R14, R27
Table ~ E51, E55, E57, E59

I adhered my papers together and wrapped them with {Natural} May Arts Burlap string. I strung a pretty snowflake charm from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adornments - Snowflakes on the string. The sentiment is from the cute Warm & Cozy Itty Bitty stamp. I added some foam tape to the bottom of the sentiment that was stamped with Sugar Cube Pigment ink from Taylored Expressions on Dark Chocolate card stock from Papertrey Ink. I used a glue dot to adhere the snowflake just beside the sentiment. I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base.
