Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 7 ~ Farm Fresh Girl ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch... we're on Sketch 7 now! I hope that you've found some inspiration from the sketches I've been sharing. I know that they have come in handy for me! This month's new sketch was perfect for the new Farm Fresh Girl from Unity Stamp Co. So excited to see two new Angie Girls released for the Cyber Week Sale!! Yay!

This month's sketch is pretty CAS {Clean and Simple}. It's great for Angie Girls and larger stamps. And it's also great for those scraps of pattern paper. I found a couple scraps from my Simple Vintage Country Christmas paper pad from Simple Stories. I wanted a bit of plaid and traditional red and green Christmas colors so these were perfect!

Here's the Copic Markers I used to color up this beautiful new Farm Fresh Girl:

Hair ~ E70, E74, E79
Hat ~ R20, R14, R27, C00, C2
Sweater ~ R20, R14, R27
Pants ~ W00, W1, W3
Tree ~ YG11, G24, G46, R14, R27, E23, E27

Here's a look at the sketch... I did alter my measurements a little bit for my card. My plaid scrap was a bit wider measuring 1-1/8". The sentiment is also wider and I mat it was a little scrap of pattern paper.

If you're liking the fun new sketch I shared, I sure hope you'll join us in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. I would love to see what you create with this sketch! Don't forget to check out Unity's Cyber Week Sale... lots of beautiful new releases and another fab sale!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Falling for the Holidays 2022 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Winnie the Pooh: Feel the Merry ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my first card for the Falling for the Holidays 2022 {BYSHC} Linky Party!! For my first card I'm featuring the wonderful Winnie the Pooh: Feel the Merry stamps from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. Unity just released a bunch of really cute new Winnie the Pooh stamps and I have to have them all! Love Winnie the Pooh!! I couldn't wait to color up this beautiful stamp.

I paired this sweet stamp up with the lovely Holly Jolly 6x8 paper pad from Simple Stories. I had colored up the stamp before picking out my papers and these actually went really well with the mix of colors in the image. Which was such a relief! I adhered my layers to a white A2 top fold card base using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from new Sponsor Therm O Web.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used:

Winnie the Pooh ~ Y11, Y15, Y38, R20, R14, R27, C00, C2, C3
Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair / Bench ~ E53, E55, E57
Jacket / Scarf ~ B0000, B34, B06, B37, R20, R14, R27
Pants ~ E51, E53, E55
Book ~ W00, W3
Boots ~ E53, E55, E57, E59, N2, N4, N6
Tree ~ YG11, G24, G46
Ground ~ C00, C3

I die cut the colored image with the smallest scalloped rectangle die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} from Unity. I also die cut one of the pattern papers and then I adhered them together. I stamped the sentiment with Black Amalgam ink from Sponsor Gina K. Designs. Trimmed it and adhered it to the scalloped layers. And then I covered the back with a bunch of iCraft 3D Foam Squares from Therm O Web. I love the dimension the foam gives to the card! To finish it off, I added a couple red enamel dots from my stash.

My card was inspired by the current {BYSHC} Sketch 27! This sketch has become a favorite! It works really well with larger stamps!  Have you visited the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group? We host a fun sketch challenge each month to inspire our holiday cardmaking all year long. I love revisiting the sketches and will likely be sharing a few during the Linky Party.

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 27 ~ Easy Cut Apart Cards ~ Simple Stories

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 27 but today I'm actually sharing four cards!! So you know how some paper pads have cut aparts in them... well, I remembered I had a beautiful paper pad from Simple Stories called Simple Vintage Country Christmas with these beautiful cut apart papers. I actually thought about finishing up as much of the paper pad as I could since I had twelve cut aparts left, but I ran out of time so we just have the four. These were so easy with this sketch!

It's just a matter of mixing and matching pattern papers. I like to lay them out on my desk and just start laying them on top of each other to see which ones work well together.

The red text paper is a lovely contrast to the plaid and the diagonal stripes has both colors so it ties it all together with the cut apart. I finished off this card with a couple Christmas Mirrored Metallic enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

This card has a similar bottom layer with the polka dots and the plaid papers contrasting well. I liked the lighter holly paper to break up the polka dots and then the solid red on the cut apart is another nice contrast.

I added a couple banners using scraps from the paper pad and a couple red enamel dots from the Merry & Bright Clear Christmas enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

Poinsettias are my favorite flowers for Christmas so I just had to use the poinsettia cut apart and it only made sense to use the poinsettia paper, as well.

The green of the cut apart helps to make this layer pop on the lighter polka dot papers and the gingham papers. I added a couple banners to this card too and the green enamel dots are from the Pine Branch Clear with Color enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

I also added some glitter to the poinsettia... you can see it a little bit in this photo. I used a Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen.

For my last card I went with the gorgeous aqua papers... I love these papers! They were the whole reason I bought this paper pad. LOL! I paired up as much of them as I could for this card and added the green paper for a nice contrast.

A little red banner for this one to compliment the red in the sentiment. I also added a couple light green enamel dots from the Pine Branch Clear with Color enamel dots.

So excited to have four more cards for my stash and these were so easy to make! I really love how they turned out too!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 ~ Winter Birdie Swag ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 26 today because it's an adorable new Christmas stamp that was just released at Unity Stamp Co. and it's called Winter Birdie Swag! Isn't he just THE cutest bird?!? I just adore him!

I paired him up with the Simple Vintage Country Christmas 6x8 paper pad from Simple Stories. I think the polka dots worked well with the pom poms on his hat and the berries on the tree. And to break up the pretty polka dots I went with a red sentiment paper. The 1/8" strips of the green paper add just a touch more green to compliment the green from the polka dots.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this sweet bird:

Bird ~ W00, W1, W3
Hat ~ YG11, G24, G46
Pom Poms ~ C00, C2, C3
Branch ~ E55, E57, E59
Berries ~ R20, R14, R27

I die cut the cute Winter Birdie Swag with a die from the X Stitched Circles dies from Gina Marie Designs. Now I had some fun with Sketch 26 this time and made it into a Fun Fold Card... yay!! I just love how it turned out too! I think you can see the bit of shadow under the right side of the focal piece... the card opens on that side and the polka dot paper continues under there on another flap for the card. I did a little boomerang video showing the card opened. You can see that below.

Such a fun twist on the sketch! The card base measures 5-1/2 x 11"; scored at 3-1/2" and 7-3/4".

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 24 ~ September 2021 KOM Looking Forward ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card using the {BYSHC} Sketch 24 from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers and this week I was excited to finally color up the gorgeous poinsettia from the September 2022 Kit of the Month called Looking Forward from Unity!! Love this beautiful stamp!!

I paired up this gorgeous poinsettia with the beautiful Simple Vintage Country Christmas 6 x 8" paper pad from Simple Stories. I cut my green polka dot papers to cover the entire card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". The red sentiment paper was cut just as the sketch calls for ~ 1-3/4 x 5-1/2" and I adhered it to the green polka dot paper. I cut the green and red plaid paper slightly larger than the sketch calls for ~ 1-3/4 x 3-7/8". Making sure that some of the pretty plaid showed around the poinsettia.

I stamped the beautiful poinsettia with Gina K. Design Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I colored up the poinsettia with the following Copic markers:

Poinsettia Center ~ Y11, Y15, Y28
Reds ~ R20, R14, R27
Greens ~ YG11, G24, G46
Berries ~ C00, C3

I fussy cut the poinsettia with my EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors leaving a skinny white border around the image. I adhered the poinsettia directly to the card. I was going to use the beautiful Christmas Wishes sentiment from the KOM but it was a little too big and would have covered up that pretty plaid paper... SO I decided to go with a quick and easy Holiday Talk metallic sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz / Idea-ology.

Here's a look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 24 for the month of July!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 21 ~ Say Cheese Christmas Ephemera ~ Simple Stories

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my weekly Christmas card and this time I used a couple beautiful ephemera pieces from the Say Cheese Christmas ephemera pack by Simple Stories. I adhered the two ephemera pieces together to make one focal piece for my card.

I don't have much left of my Say Cheese Christmas pattern papers so I opted to use American Crafts Christmas papers that I've had in my stash for years. I'm pretty sure I got them in the Dollar Spot at Target. I may be stretching it here on my design with all the black and red in my background and no white, but I think it makes the red and black of the poinsettia pop.

I felt like it was missing some green and I tried the sparkly green glitter paper in the pattern pack but it wasn't working for me. So I opted for a few green enamel dots from my stash. These were loose in my stash so I'm not sure where they are from. I think it ties in the green from the ephemera pieces very nicely. What do you think?

Now I didn't have any sentiments in my ephemera pack that would work so I picked one of my favorite Christmas sentiments from the adorable Felt Stocking itty bitty stamp from Unity Stamp Co. I just love this font!! I adhered the trimmed sentiment to the focal piece and then popped them up together on the card with foam tape. I added a bit of sparkle to the poinsettia with a Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen but I wasn't able to get a good picture. It's really quite subtle, but ties in the sparkle from the red glitter paper. A pretty quick and easy card with minimal stamping!

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 19 ~ Hot Cocoa Love ~ Not 2 Shabby

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's been a busy week at the Minkler house and I've been getting worried that I wouldn't have time to make my weekly Christmas card. So when I had a bit of time I thought I'd use some fun ephemera that I got awhile ago but haven't played with yet. And I got the coordinating papers too!

So... here's my card!! Cute, right! I love how quick it came together using ephemera and the pattern papers! And since it was so quick I actually made two cards!!

I picked two cute pattern papers from the Hot Cocoa Warm Hearts paper pack from Not 2 Shabby and cut them to 4 x 5-1/4". I stacked the papers together and cut them at an angle. Cutting the papers together makes it very easy to line them up for this particular card design.

I adhered the pattern papers to a black card front and die cut some black card stock with the Stitched Ric Rac die from My Favorite Things. I adhered the Ric Rac die cut to the card. And popped up the ephemera piece with foam tape.

Now for card #2!! Aren't those marshmallows just THE cutest! I love them!

I used the leftover pieces from the first card which made this card SO easy!

The Cocoa Love ephemera pack didn't have any Christmas sentiments so I looked through some of my other ephemera packs and found the Say Cheese Christmas ephemera from Simple Stories that had a couple sentiments that worked perfectly for my cards.

Here's another look at the fun {BYSHC} Sketch 19 for the month of February! There's still a few days to play along with the sketch! If you'd like to see more inspiration for the sketch head on over to the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! I'll be back on Tuesday with inspiration for the new {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 20!!

See ya next time.
