Inky Paws Challenge #203 ~ Color Challenge Reminder

 Hello there crafty friend!
There's still time to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #203 - Color Challenge!! You have until this coming Friday, August 4th to get your entries in for the #203 Color Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Here's another look at the fun colors... Watermelon Red, Flamingo Pink, Parakeet Green, and Sea Foam Blue.

A caffeinated CAS birthday card today featuring the adorable kitty from the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set! I found that Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks blend to make a lovely Watermelon Red. It's pretty bold on the card but I think it draws the eye directly to the kitty. I stamped the adorable kitty in the center of my white card stock panel measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I also stamped the kitty a second time on a scrap piece of white card stock. Using a large post it note I masked the top portion of the first stamped panel covering the kitty just along the black line. I blended the oxides along the post it note and down - kinda like an ombre blend to create a table for the kitty to peek over at the coffee.

We recently adopted a sweet kitty named Quinn and I colored up my stamped kitty to look a bit like her. Quinn has become a part of the family. We just love her.

What do you think? I guess I could have gone a bit darker with my grays but I think it's similar enough. Anywho, Quinn loves the smell of coffee... at least she's always up on the counter sniffing the coffee pot. LOL! So I thought this stamp was perfect to color up in her likeness. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the kitty on the scrap white card stock:

Kitty ~ N0, N2, N4, C00, C1, C3, YR0000, YR21, YR12, R00, R20
Mug ~ BG000, BG02, G000, G14, E21, E25

I fussy cut the kitty and mug on the line and then colored up the edges with the side of my Memento Tuxedo Black marker. This is a great tip to make those edges look nice and neat. I then paper pieced the kitty on the panel by adhering it over the other stamped kitty. I die cut the paper pieced panel using the stitched rectangle die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of the panel and popped it up on the card. Finished off the card by adding a few pink enamel dots - which also rounded out my color combo for the card. I love how this card turned out.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project with the color combo of Watermelon Red, Flamingo Pink, Parakeet Green, and Sea Foam Blue. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Snowflake Net Stencil ~ A Colorful Life Designs

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my last card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! It's also my last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 35. My card for today features a mix of products from a few of our wonderful Linky Party Sponsors again.

I wanted a simple plaid background using the Plaid Cover Dies Bundle from Sponsor Pink & Main. I love how combining these two A2 sized dies with different card stock colors makes for such an easy background. I die cut the Plaid Cover Die Panel A from Cool Caribbean card stock from Stampin' Up. I die cut the Plaid Cover Die Panel B from Orchid Opulence card stock, also from SU.

Next, I ink blended Seedless Preserves and Broken China Distress Oxides over the fabulous Snowflake Net Stencil from Sponsor A Colorful Life Designs onto a 6 x 6" piece of white card stock. I die cut a portion of it with the second largest die from the Pleated Lace Mini Slimline die from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs. Not sure yet what I'll do with the other portion. I also die cut a scrap of white card stock that I trimmed and adhered to the stenciled panel.

Here's a look at this month's {BYSHC} Sketch 35. I turned the sketch for my card... mostly for the sentiment to sit at the bottom of the focal panel. There's still a bit of time to play along with the sketch!! Entries must be submitted prior to July 31st at 11:59pm PST in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group.

The sentiment from the Wishing You Mini Stamp Set from Sponsor Gina K. Designs was then stamped on the bottom white portion of the panel with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink. I stamped two snowflakes from the Wishing You Mini Stamp Set... one with the Seedless Preserves and the other with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I fussy cut them leaving a tiny bit of a white border and then adhered them together using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. I adhered the snowflakes to the stenciled panel and then I popped up the panel and snowflakes on the card using 3D Foam Squares from Sponsor Therm O Web. I finished off the card by adding a few white rhinestones from the Frosty Rhinestones from our Sponsor Gina Marie Designs to the centers of the snowflakes.

I have had SO much fun playing along with the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! I hope that you've been inspired to make a few Christmas cards to relieve some of the holiday stress. I know that I am feeling great about the 8 cards and 3 tags that I made. If you missed the tags I shared on my Instagram you can check them out here... 3 Holiday Tags. Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Pinecone Dies ~ Jaded Blossom

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back for Day 7 of the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! I can't believe that we're nearing the end of the linky party already. My card today features another mix of products from a few of our linky party Sponsors. Can't help myself! But this just may be my favorite card from the linky party... at least, that I made!! I have a whole bunch of favorites that have been entered into the linky party. How about you?! Any specific cards caught your eye?

For my card today, I used the gorgeous Gingerbread Kisses 6x6 Paper Pad from Sponsor Not 2 Shabby. I die cut my pattern paper layers using the Frames and Flags Die Set from Sponsor Newton's Nook Designs. I then adhered my layers together using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. My pattern paper layers were then adhered to a Coastal Cabana card front  measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" from Stampin' Up.

The beautiful window is the Arched Window die from Taylored Expressions. Unfortunately, I think it's retired. The gorgeous Pinecone Dies are from Sponsor Jaded Blossom. These were so fun to play with. I mix matched a few different colors for the pinecones using Close to Cocoa, Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip card stock from Stampin' Up. So fun! I also die cut a few greeneries from the set using Garden Green and Coastal Cabana card stock. And I used Real Red Grosgrain ribbon from SU for the little bow.

I stamped the sentiment from the retired Christmas Delivery Stamp Set from Sponsor Newton's Nook Designs. I trimmed it up and popped it up on the card using 3D Foam Squares from Sponsor Therm O Web. I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base.

Be sure to stop by Jaded Blossom and check out all their fabulous Christmas goodies!! SO many amazing dies!! Have you stopped by the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party yet?! I sure hope you will! Check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared friends... you won't regret it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Blessed Angel with Unique Flakes ~ Angie Blom Digital Designs

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my sixth card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! My card today features a mix of products from just two of our linky party Sponsors. I used two stunning digital stamps from our return Sponsor Angie Blom Digital Designs. Blessed Angel and Unique Flakes... SO gorgeous! And even more so together! I also used the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co.

I absolutely LOVE blues with snowflakes! I ink smooshed a half sheet of card stock measuring 8-1/2 x 5-1/2" using Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks leaving some white on the sheet. I dried my ink smooshed card panel completely with my heat tool and then ran it through my printer printing off the gorgeous Unique Flakes digi stamp. While I was ink smooshing the half sheet I also ink smooshed a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper from Tim Holtz. I die cut my snowflake background using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies from Unity. I added a bit of sparkle to the background by splattering some Liquid Pixie Dust from Inkon3. I dried the background again and then I adhered my snowflake background to the watercolor ink smooshed background.

I adore this gorgeous angel digi stamp called Blessed Angel. It's one of my favorites for Christmas. In fact, I used it last year for a pretty mini slimline card and I still had the Word Document saved in my files so I printed her off again for this card. Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair ~ E95, E97, E19
Flowers ~ B0000, B02, B04, B34, B37
Leaves ~ YG11, G24
Dress ~ C00, C1, C3

I fussy cut the angel leaving a bit of a white border and I trimmed the sentiment. I then adhered them together and added a bunch of 3D Foam Squares from Sponsor Therm O Web. I then removed the backing and popped the angel and sentiment up on the card. Love the dimension that it gives the card! I finished off the card by adding a few water droplet beads from the July 2023 Whit Kit from Unity Stamp Co.

Be sure to stop by Angie Blom Digital Designs and check out all the awesome Christmas digital stamps on sale 40% OFF - no code required. Woohoo!! And if you haven't already, stop by the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared!! I am blown away by all the amazing cards!

Membership Wednesday ~ July 2023 Kit of the Month Anchored by Love ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back for another Membership Wednesday and today I'm sharing a card using one of the sweet ice cream cone stamps in the July 2023 Kit of the Month called Anchored by Love from Unity Stamp Co. I just can't get enough of all the fun Summer stamps in this month's kit! I've wanted to color up this ice cream cone since I saw it!

I paired up the sweet ice cream cone with the Slices of Summer - A Watermelon Harvest {paper pack} from this month's Whit Kit membership. I was really wanting to do a fun pink color for a watermelon sorbet ice cream cone. Yum! These papers are perfect!

I stamped the cute ice cream cone on white card stock with Black Amalgam ink and colored it up with the following Copic markers:

Cone ~ E21, E23, E25
Sorbet ~ RV00, RV21, RV13, RV04
Leaves ~ YG11, G24
Stick ~ E21, E23, E25
Berries ~ BV01, BV13, B63
Grounding ~ C00, C1, C3

You may notice that my card design today is similar to my card design from yesterday. Well, I couldn't help but use the same design. It was perfect for the scraps of pattern paper tucked in with my paper pad. This is the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 14. I host a fun little sketch challenge in my Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group each month. I've had a lot of fun sharing sketches in my other group... Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group... but since that group is Christmas themed only I wanted to share sketches that could be used for any occasion.

I trimmed a 4 x 5-1/4" panel of white card stock and adhered the triangle pieces on either end. I then adhered the strips of pattern paper down the middle. I did have to cut the white with black polka dot and pink pattern papers in half and adhere them to the edges. This left some white space in the middle which was okay because the focal panel covers it.

I cut my focal panel to the measurements on the sketch and adhered them together. I colored the bottom of the panel to ground the ice cream cone. I then fussy cut the ice cream cone and cleaned up the edges by coloring them with the edge of my Memento Tuxedo black marker. A trick I like to use to make fussy cut images nice and neat. I then adhered it to the card. I heat embossed the sentiment using Black Amalgam ink with a fine black embossing powder that I melted with a heat tool. I die cut the sentiment using the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting dies and adhered it across the card.

Here's a look at the whole Kit of the Month for July!! The perfect Summer kit! Can you believe that you get this full sheet of rubber for only $44.99. That includes shipping! You also get a $6.95 discount on every order from Unity over $45. And you can purchase any past kits for only $34 plus shipping. Such a great value!

I'll be back for another Membership Wednesday blog post in two weeks. Next week, I'll be sharing inspiration for the amazing new August 2023 Background of the Month on my Instagram.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Deck the Owls ~ Not 2 Shabby

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my fifth card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! My card today features products from our linky party Sponsor Not 2 Shabby. I used the absolutely lovely Deck the Owls 6x6 Paper Pad and the coordinating Deck the Owls Ephemera Die Cuts.

This fun card was inspired by a few card designs that I've seen entered into the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party that include diagonal strips of pattern paper. I knew I had some paper strips in the paper pack so I had a go at my own card design.

Which also happens to be the new sketch in my Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook Group... Sketch 14. The measurements are included as a guide rather than a requirement. I also didn't include measurements for the paper strips in the middle or the triangles because the point of the sketch is to use those scraps. One tip I'd like to mention if you do try this sketch out... the 6x6 pattern paper isn't going to fit all the way across the 4 x 5-1/4" panel in the center of the card. What I mean is, those three strips in the middle of the design had to be cut in half to reach end to end on the panel. But it's totally fine because the focal panel covers it up. I do have a prize set aside for this sketch challenge! I hope you'll come join my group and play along.

I adhered all my layers using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. I also popped up the sweet owl ephemera piece and sentiment using 3D Foam Squares from Sponsor Therm O Web.

Love the dimension that it gives the card. I finished off the card by adding a couple white glitter enamel dots from the Winter Sparkle Glitter Style Enamel Dots from our Sponsor Gina Marie Designs.

Be sure to stop by Not 2 Shabby and use code - XMASJULY - for 10% OFF your order. You could even snag the sweet owl papers and ephemera I used today... they are in stock! And if you haven't already, stop by the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration being shared!! Who knows... you may also get inspired to make a holiday card and join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Inky Paws Challenge #203 ~ Color Challenge ~ Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party

Hello there crafty friend!
It's time for a new Inky Paws Challenge... a Color Challenge!
I sure hope that you'll join in the fun and play along with us with your Newton's Nook Designs products! You have until Friday, August 4th to get your entries in for the #203 Color Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

How beautiful are these colors... Watermelon Red, Flamingo Pink, Parakeet Green, and Seafoam Blue.
Now these would be awesome for a fun Summer card... but I had another fun idea!

I made a Christmas card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Newton's Nook Designs is a sweet and amazing Sponsor of our linky party so I thought it would be fun to make a card for the new color challenge AND one for the Linky Party. I love this color combo for Christmas!

The Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party is a fun event filled with inspiration for your holiday card making. To play along just make a holiday card {winter, Christmas, Hanukkah, etc.} and share it on your social media. Then link it up with us at the {BYSHC} blog for a chance to win a prize. Easy peasy! And a great way to get ahead on those holiday cards! I hope you'll join us.

I stamped a few of the super cute cocoa mugs from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the snowman mug first on my 3-1/4 x 2-1/4" white card stock panel. I also stamped the snowman mug on a post it note and fussy cut it for a mask. I placed the mask on the snowman mug and then stamped the other two mugs on either side. I removed the mask and like magic it brought the snowman mug to the front of the mug trio. Masking is such a fun technique to add dimension to your card! This same trio of mugs can easily be achieved by stamping the snowflake mug and striped mug on the panel and then stamping the snowman mug on a scrap of white card stock. Next just die cut the snowman mug using the coordinating Cup of Cocoa Die Set and adhere it over the other two mugs. Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color up the cute mugs:

Snowflake Mug ~ R20, R17, C00, C1, C3
Snowman Mug ~ BG000, BG02, C00, C1, C3, YG11, G14
Candy Cane ~ C00, C1, C3, R20, R17
Striped Mug ~ YG11, G14, BG000, BG02, R20, R17, C00, C1, C3
Heart ~ R00, R20, RV21
Ground ~ C1, C3

My card design was inspired by one of the past {BYSHC} Sketches... Sketch 7. This one is a favorite of mine. Such a classic card design. I used the dimensions noted in the sketch for my layers. I did alter the sketch a bit by turning the focal image and I added the ribbon. I love revisiting the sketches from our monthly challenges!

I paired up this sweet trio of mugs with the Christmas Time 6x6 Paper Pad. The colors are so perfect for the color combo. I cut my layers and added a mat of Cucumber Crush card stock from my old stash of Stampin' Up card stock. I wrapped the card front with some white organdy ribbon and tied a pretty bow. And to finish off the card, I added a few pink enamel dots from my stash.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the color combo of Watermelon Red, Flamingo Pink, Parakeet Green, and Seafoam Blue. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Wonderful Winter ~ Graciellie Design

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's day 3 of the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! I'm excited to bring you another sweet card that I've made to add to my Christmas stash! This time I played with the beautiful Wonderful Winter Digital Stamp Set from our return Sponsor Graciellie Design! Love this gorgeous digital stamp!!

I inserted the digital stamp into a Word Document and resized it for an A2 card design. This is one of the other digital stamps that I combined all on one sheet for the Linky Party and printed it off. I like to fill up a full sheet before printing (if possible).

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this cute digi stamp:

Poinsettias ~ R20, R17, R27 with gold gel pen in the center
Berries ~ C00, C1, C3
Pitcher ~ N0, N1, N3, N5
Ground ~ YG11, G24, G46

I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Frayed Edge Stacklets dies from Sponsor Taylored Expressions. I adhered the panel to a piece of red glitter pattern paper from the Deck the Owls 6x6 Paper Pad from Sponsor Not 2 Shabby. The beautiful sentiment was die cut using one of the stitched dies from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. I added some foam tape to the back of the sentiment and popped it up on the card. And I finished off the card with a few red glitter enamel dots from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs.

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Christmas Merry ~ RAM Stamps

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my second card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! It was so much fun checking out the inspiration shared yesterday for the start of the Linky Party. So many wonderful cards! Today I'm sharing a card using a sweet digi stamp from return Sponsor RAM Stamps, also known as Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps.

I used the super adorable Christmas Merry Digital Stamp, but I actually got the Christmas Sentiments Digital Stamp Set that includes all four of the recently released sentiment stamps at a bit of a discount!! They are ALL so cute! I had to have them ALL!

I inserted the digital stamp into a Word Document and resized it for a mini slimline card design. I then printed it off. Actually, I combined it with a couple of other digis that I'm making into cards this week for the Linky Party. I like to fill up a full sheet before printing. Anywho, here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up this cute digi stamp:

Snowman ~ C00, C1, C3, Y11, Y15, YR16
Snowman's Hat ~ YG11, G24, G46, C00, C1, C3
Squirrels ~ E41, E44
Merry ~ R20, R17, R27

I die cut the colored panel using the second largest die from the Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline dies from Sponsor Gina Marie Designs. I paired up this sweet panel with the White Winter {paper pack} from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. I trimmed the green knit pattern paper to 6 x 3" and I adhered all my layers together using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. To finish off the card, I adhered the mini slimline card front to a 6 x 6" card base scored at 3".

Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Decorate My Life ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my first card for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party hosted by the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! This is our fourth annual Christmas in July Linky Party. I can't believe how fast time seems to fly by! Even though were in the middle of Summer the linky party is focused on Christmas and wintry holiday cards. It's a great way to get ahead on those holiday cards to relieve some of the stress later on in the year during the holidays. I am super excited to add a few more holiday cards to my Christmas card stash and I sure hope that you'll join in the fun!

For my first card I'm featuring the super sweet Decorate my Life Itty Bitty stamp from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. I also used the sentiment from the Poinsettia Wishes Itty Bitty stamp, also from Unity. I paired these stamps up with papers from the Vintage Christmas paper pad from The Paper Studio. I adhered all my layers to a white A2 top fold card base using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web.

I stamped the sweet owl using Black Amalgam ink from returning Sponsor Gina K Designs. I love this ink! I can use it for Copic coloring or for watercoloring... so easy peasy. Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color up the sweet owl:

Owl ~ N0, N1, N3, N5, YR21, YR16, YR14
Coat / Hat ~ YG11, G24, G46, R20, R17, R27
Scarf ~ YG11, G24, G46, R20, R17, R27, C00, C1, C3
Bell ~ Y06, Y28
Boots ~ N0, N2, N4, N6
Heart ~ R20, R17, R27

I trimmed the colored panel and adhered the strip of green plaid pattern paper to the bottom grounding the owl. I rounded the corners using a corner rounder from my stash. I used my handy dandy Crop-a-dile to punch a couple holes in the plaid paper and popped in a couple of brads. I love brads! I should really use them more often. I have a ton in my stash! I adhered the owl panel to the striped pattern paper that was adhered to a white A2 top fold card base. I then stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Wishes stamp using Sugar Cube Pigment ink from Sponsor Taylored Expressions onto a scrap of red cardstock. I added some white embossing powder to the white ink and melted the powder with a heat tool - heat embossing it. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it directly to the card.

My card was inspired by the current {BYSHC} sketch... Sketch 35! Have you visited the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group? We host a fun sketch challenge each month to inspire our holiday cardmaking all year long. I love using sketches for my cards... makes designing the cards so easy! I'll definitely be sharing a few past sketches during the Linky Party.

I'm also a Sponsor for the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!! I have a wonderful prize set aside for one lucky winner. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the prize so I guess it'll be a fun surprise. For a chance to win my fun prize make a Christmas card and link it up to the linky party blog post on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog. The winner will be announced on the {BYSHC} blog on Monday, July 31st.

Before you leave, be sure to stop by Sponsors Unity Stamp Co., Therm O WebGina K. Designs and Taylored Expressions websites to see the latest releases and sales happening right now. And if you haven't already, stop by the Christmas in July 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party to check out all the wonderful Holiday inspiration from our Sponsors and the {BYSHC} Design Team!!
