Papertrey Ink Stripes Challenge ~ Christmas lives in the Heart

Hello! Today I'm sharing my last entry for the Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Celebration Challenges. This one is for the Stripes Challenge. I decided to use up some of the beautiful stripe Christmas paper that I bought last year during the huge sale.

Once I designed my card, I thought... why not make a few? So, I ended up making half a dozen. I really love the way they turned out. I started by cutting all of my card stock from card bases to layers. I don't usually do this but I thought it would make sense since I planned on doing multiples.

I then stamped the angels by using two ink pads, Aqua Mist and Ripe Avocado. I masked the angel and stamped the wings with Aqua Mist. I stamped the stars using Harvest Gold... and then decided to stamp over that with Lemon Tart and it brightened the yellow a bit. I stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I was going to doodle some strings for the stars hanging down, but I decided to add some gold twine. I punched some 1/8" holes at the top of the stars. I pulled through some gold twine and taped them to the back of the circle. I then tied a bunch of little bows and adhered them using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

I adhered all my layers on each of the cards. I did pop up the circle pieces and the little hearts. I had a lot of fun making these and I think they turned out pretty cute!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Love Lives Here: Holiday
Inks: Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Harvest Gold, Lemon Tart, Pure Poppy, Memento Tuxedo black
Card Stock: Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, White, Candy Cane Prints paper
Tools: Mini Misti, Spellbinders Circle & Scallop dies, 1/8" circle punch
Miscellaneous: gold twine

Papertrey Ink Color Challenge ~ You Warm My Heart

Hello again! Today, I have my entry for the Papertrey Ink Color Challenge... another challenge for the 11th Anniversary Celebration over at Papertrey Ink. Woohoo! I've had so much fun playing along with these challenges!

For the color challenge, we were able to choose a color combo from the inspiration shared by the design team so I chose Stephanie Gold's color recipe of Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, and Soft Stone.

I started my card with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of Soft Stone card stock that I inked up first with the Background Basics Birch (say that 3 times fast - ha!) stamp using Soft Stone ink. I then stamped a bunch of images from the Drips & Dribbles stamp set using first and second generation stamping with the Smokey Shadow ink. I cut that piece down to 3-5/8 x 5-1/2" and mat it on a piece of Lemon Tart card stock and added two strips of Smokey Shadow card stock approximately 1/8" wide on either side of my background. I adhered the entire piece to a Soft Stone card base and set it aside. I die cut and inked up two coffee cups from the Warm Happiness and Warm Happiness Too stamp sets using Aqua Mist,  Spring Moss, and Smokey Shadow inks. I die cut two banners from Lemon Tart and Smokey Shadow card stock and trimmed them on one end. I stamped the sentiment on the Smokey Shadow banner using VersaMark ink and heat embossed some ultra fine white embossing powder. I adhered the banners to the card and added the coffee cups. I also added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal gloss Ebony Black drops. That's it for my Color Challenge card!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Background Basics Birch, Drips & Dribbles, Warm Happiness, Warm Happiness Too
Inks: Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, VersaMark
Card Stock: Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, White, Lemon Tart
Tools: Warm Happiness dies, Mini Misti
Miscellaneous: Nuvo Crystal Drops gloss Ebony Black, Ranger Ultra Fine White embossing powder

Papertrey Ink Use Only Dies - No Stamps Challenge ~ Love

Hello! I'm back again with another entry for yet another challenge over at Papertrey Ink. This challenge was interesting to say the least... Use Only Dies - No Stamps Challenge.

I decided to play with my new Mix & Mat: Hearts die which made for an easy background. I wanted to do something a little out of the box so I grabbed some of my Papertrey Ink papers from last years big sale. I decided this beautiful textured grey paper would be fun. I die cut that and a piece of Pure Poppy card stock. I adhered the grey piece to a piece of True Black card stock. I went searching through my Papertrey Ink dies thinking I would surely have one to go with these pretty hearts, but I didn't. Eeek! So I had to use my Happy Greetings dies from My Favorite Things. I cut the Love sentiment out of both layers and set them aside. I adhered the whole piece to a white card base and then started adding the red hearts and letters. I added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal gloss Autumn Red drops.. sadly, the only red drops I have... and then added some white and red twine. Another card for the PTI challenges! Woohoo!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Card Stock: White, True Black, Pure Poppy, Floral Sketches paper
Tools: Mix & Mat: Hearts die, Happy Greetings (MFT)
Miscellaneous: Nuvo Crystal Drops gloss Autumn Red, Red & White twine

Papertrey Ink Retirement Challenge ~ Thank you!

Hello! I am on a roll... woohoo!! Here's my entry for the Papertrey Ink Retirement Challenge. The stamp set I used for this is the Paper Clippings: Thank You set. I hate to admit it, but this is the first time I inked up this set. Wow, is it big!

As you can see it takes up almost the entire A2 card that I made. It's a really cute set. I inked up the sentiment using VersaMark and Royal Velvet ink and then I heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder. For some reason the embossing didn't heat up smooth... it's kind of bumpy. I don't know why. If you know why it did this, please let me know in the comments. I hope I don't have defective embossing powder. Anywho, I stamped a few flowers and the little birds using Plum Pudding, Blueberry Sky, Winter Wisteria, Lilac Grace, and Lavender Moon inks. I die cut the piece using a large rectangular stitched die. I adhered it to a piece of Blueberry Sky patterned paper and then popped up the whole panel using dimensionals onto a white card base. I added a few drops of Sweet Lilac gloss Nuvo drops. A pretty quick thank you card and another one for the Papertrey Ink challenges! Yay!!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Paper Clippings: Thank You
Card Stock: White, Blueberry Sky patterned paper
Ink: Royal Velvet, Winter Wisteria, Lavender Moon, Lilac Grace, Blueberry Sky, Plum Pudding
Tools: Stitched Rectangle Stacklets (Taylored Expressions)
Miscellaneous: Nuvo Crystal Drops gloss Sweet Lilac

Papertrey Ink Floral Challenge ~ Happy Birthday!

Hello! I'm super excited! I was able to make another card for the 11th Anniversary Floral Challenge over at Papertrey Ink! I am having so much fun with these challenges!

For this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and I smooshed some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink on my craft mat and spritzed it with a little water. I dabbed my paper in it. I did it just a couple of times to get the background. I then put my watercolor paper in my splatter box and splattered some gold silks. It's all shimmery and pretty! I set that aside to dry and inked up some pretty flowers using the Gran's Garden stamp set and dies. I adhered the flowers to my card and stamped my sentiment using the Ways to Say: Birthday mini stamp set. I die cut that out with a banner die and then die cut another banner in Plum Pudding card stock. I layered the banners and popped them up on the card. Another card for the PTI challenges AND another birthday card for the stash! Woohoo!

Here are the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Gran's Garden, Ways to Say: Birthday
Card Stock: White, Watercolor paper, Plum Pudding
Ink: Lilac Grace, Plum Pudding, Harvest Gold, Lemon Tart, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide
Tools: Heat gun, Mini Misti
Miscellaneous: Gold silks (Fun Stampers Journey)

Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday {on a Wednesday} Challenge ~ Happy Birthday!

Hello! I am so happy I was able to play along with another challenge from Papertrey Ink's 11th Anniversary challenges and celebrations! The challenge this time was to Tranform a card so I decided to go through my entries from the Make it Monday challenges and pick one of those to transform.

I chose this card from the Make it Monday #284 challenge. I like how this card turned out, but I thought it could use a little somethin' somethin'. Ha!

I started with the same kraft card base and I adhered the vellum layer directly to the base. I decided to use softer colors on the white layer so I didn't need the vellum layer to cover it. I also used a new Mix & Mat: Postal die for the white layer AND I used the Linen/Canvas Impression plate to give it some texture. I made the butterfly using just the bluish green colors this time, instead of the chocolate. I do like the chocolate outline on the first card because it makes it pop, but I didn't use any other chocolate on the card so I thought I'd just stick with the colors I used. I also decided to add a smaller sentiment to finish off the card. I like the repetitive background saying happy birthday but I think this really made the sentiment stand out. I added a few gemstones, just like the first card and called it done! I like my first card, but I REALLY like how this transformed card turned out!

Here's the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Pen & Ink, Butterfly Hope, Ways to Say: Birthday
Card Stock: Kraft, White, Vellum
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist
Tools: Mix & Mat: Postal, Linen/Canvas Impression Plate, Butterfly Hope die
Miscellaneous: The Paper Studio Gemstones

Papertrey Ink Sketch Challenge ~ Sending You Sunshine

Hi there! I'm going to make this quick... I really want to get this entered for the PTI 11th Anniversary Sketch Challenge before it ends. I really struggled with this card... nothing was going right so I'm just going to enter it as is. Maybe later this weekend I'll have another go at it.

I die cut an oval shape on a thin piece of card stock and used that to mask the area that I wanted to blend my ink using the Dots Collection stencil. I also blended some ink around the edge of the oval to give it a little more definition. I die cut and then stamped the sunflowers several times using different inks... it's really hard to see in the picture. Unfortunately, my last color was some kraft ink around the center of the flower and that's where my first mistake took place. It smudged terribly. I finished up inking the flowers and the center for the flowers and then the leaves. I adhered the pieces together and then adhered them to the card layering them a bit. I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut the banner and adhered it to the card. Now, my last mistake was to add some wink of stella around the oval... for some reason the pen leaked and thank goodness, the mess it made isn't really visible in this picture. I do like how this turned out as an overall design and I hope to revisit it soon.

Here's the products I used for this card:
Stamps: Simple Sunflower
Card Stock: Aqua Mist, White
Ink: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Prairie Grass, Ripe Avocado, Hawaiian Shores
Tools: Simple Sunflower Die Collection, Dots Stencil Collection, Oval die (not PTI)
Miscellaneous: clear wink of stella
