More 'Scraps' Cards ~ Pissy Party Plus a Few More Stamps ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I found some time to finish up the latest batch of 'scraps' cards I've been mentioning. Yay! I had enough scraps to make three cards and a tag. It feels so good to finish up another pattern paper pack. These are the papers I've been using for some of my TOP Inky Inspiration Sketch 21 and 22 cards. It was starting to feel like these papers would never get finished up!

Here's a look at the three cards and the tag. All very different! I'd love to know if you have a favorite of the batch. If you have a moment, comment below and let me know.

My first card features the adorable Pissy Party kitty. I'm making an effort to once again do a bit of watercoloring each month so this month I watercolored this fun cat. I used a bunch of ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Here's the list: Light Gray, Mid Gray, Yellow Green, Light Green, Yellow, Pink, Light Carmine, Light Blue, Cobalt Blue and Beige. Oh, and I also used my water pen. I fussy cut the kitty leaving a bit of a white border around him. I added foam tape to the back of the kitty and popped him up on the card. I used two scrap papers for this card. These were my largest pieces. I die cut a scrap of white card stock with a die from the Make a Tag {die set}. I didn't want to leave a lot of white space above the kitty so I used a couple of the tiny scraps and stapled them to the card. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment with Black Amalgam ink and die cut it with a die from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies.

My second card features the adorable Planner Gal: Simply Perfect Birthday. This card was actually inspired by the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 22. It has some elements from the sketch, but it definitely took a left turn at some point! LOL! I really liked the three pattern papers clustered together but I wanted a touch of black behind them so I die cut a piece of True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink using a circle die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies} from Unity. Not completely sure I love how that turned out. I do like the contrast of the rectangles with the circle. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the sweet birthday girl:

Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E51, E55, E57
Dress: RV10, RV11
Crown: Y11, Y15, Y28
Flower: Y11, RV10, RV11, YG11, YG23
Cake: C00, C1, C3
Candle: Y11, Y15, B000, B00, B02
Cake Stand: B000, B00, B02

Here's a look at the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 22. This challenge ends next Monday June 24th!! So get your entries in! I'd love to see what you do with this sketch.

My last card is super CAS and simple! I had one long strip of pattern paper. This is always an easy card design for a quick CAS card. This card features the You're Better itty bitty. I thought this would be a fun birthday card. I'm thinking I need to color in the heart though. What do you think?

My tag features the Hooray it's your Birthday itty bitty stamp. My last couple of scraps really had me stuck for a bit. I just couldn't figure out a card design that I liked and then I saw this tag on my desk. I think the pattern papers look so nice with this tag and then the black circles really make the pile of gifts pop! The black circles were also scraps in my True Black card stock folder so that was a bonus. I found a few enamel dots from my stash to compliment the blues in the papers and to finish off the tag I added a bit of white organdy ribbon. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for the gifts: Y11, Y15, Y28, C00, C1, C3, RV10, RV11, B000, B00, YG11, and YG23.

So excited to add three more cards and a cute tag to my stash! I'm even more excited to have another paper pack done! Woohoo! What do you think of the card designs this time? Do you have a favorite? I'm leaning towards the kitty card. Well, I'm excited to pick out another paper pack to finish off. I think I'll pick one out to use with the upcoming Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 23 that will start next Tuesday. Have a wonderfully inky week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Bunch of Tags ~ Holly Jolly Everything ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
The awesome sale over at Unity Stamp Co. continues with another HUGE release for the Black Friday Sale! Lots and lots more amazing goodies available. Including a super cute gnome illustrated by Jeanie Hays called Holly Jolly Everything! Love Jeanie's gnomes!

I thought this cutie would make a cute CAS tag... whatcha think? I couldn't help but make a bunch of them. So fun to color up this gnome too. I die cut the stamped gnomes and sentiments using a die from the Make a Tag {die set}. I also die cut some Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up and I adhered those to the back of the tags.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11
Mustache / Beard: C00, C1, C3
Sweater: R20, R14, R46, B00, YG11, G24, G46, Y11, Y15
Lights: Y11, Y15, YG11, G24, B000, B00
Shoes: N1, N3, N5
Hat: R20, R14, R46, E21, E23, E25
Holly Jolly Banner: R20, R14

I punched a hole in the top of the tags but on the side a bit so I didn't punch a hole through the gnomes hat. I added some red grosgrain ribbon and tied it with some twine from my stash. These were really easy to make and didn't take too much time other than the coloring. I just need to find a 'to' and 'from' stamp for the back of the tags and I'll be all set.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

~ Friends of Unity December 2022 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's the first Saturday of December and you know what that means... it's time for our Friends of Unity Blog Hop!! But today is not just a regular monthly blog hop... it's our 5th Anniversary of hopping!! Can you believe that?! 5 years has gone by so fast!! We've shared so many wonderful cards and projects over the last 5 years and added so many new friends!! I'm so grateful to my friends that help make this hop amazing each month and I'm also very grateful to the friends that come and hop along with us. All your love and comments each month mean so much to us. We appreciate you all!! I'll try to keep my blog as short and sweet as possible but be sure to read to the end because there's an amazing giveaway you don't want to miss out on. First, let's get to the cue...

... Glitter & Glitz!! The perfect cue for a 5th anniversary celebration!! I had fun with this cue!

My first project is a cute tag using the Advent Calendar Day 3 stamp!! How sweet is this beautiful poinsettia! I just love it! Did you get the Advent Calendar? It's so fun opening each little door... I just love it! There's still some in stock... just saying!!!

I inked up the stamp with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink, spritzed it with a bit of water and stamped it on a piece of Kraft card stock that I had die cut with the smallest tag die from the Make a Tag die set {looks like it's currently out of stock}. I did a mix of first and second generation stamping - which basically means that I inked up my stamp and stamped directly on the paper {first generation stamping} and without reinking the stamp, I stamped it again leaving a lighter impression of the stamp {second generation stamping}.

I used my heat tool to dry the tag. I added a bunch of white acrylic paint splatters. And then I went nuts with some Liquid Pixie Dust splatters. Just two drops on my palette with a spritz of water went a loooong way!! It's so gorgeous in person... I think you can see some of the shine on that center poinsettia. I had some of the Liquid Pixie Dust left over so I brushed some along the edge of the larger tag. I popped the smaller tag up on the larger tag with some foam tape, tied an organdy ribbon around it and cut fish tails on the ends. And then I stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Wishes Itty Bitty stamp... I masked it and only partially stamped the sentiment with Sugar Cube pigment ink and then heat embossed Alabaster White Embossing powder. I trimmed it and then popped it up on the tag, too. To finish off the tag, I punched a hole in the top with my Crop-a-Dile and added some twine. So pretty!

My second project is a card I made using a couple new releases from the Cyber Week Sale!! Have you guys been enjoying all the releases for Brown Thursday/Black Friday and Cyber Week?! OMG!! SO many new and amazing stamps! I want them ALL!! LOL Anywho, for this card I ink smooshed Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I dried my background completely with a heat tool. I then stamped the gorgeous new snowflake clusters from the December 2022 Sentiment Kit called Shake Your Flakes with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink. And then I went nuts splattering it with some Liquid Pixie Dust. I love this stuff!!!

I set the background aside to dry and stamped the beautiful new Angie Girl and sentiment from the Freaking Cold stamps with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs. I colored the girl up with the following Copic Markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair ~ E95, E97, E08, E09
Sweater ~ C00, C2, C3
Hat ~ BG0000, BG10, BG23, BG34, BG13, V000, V12, V17, C2, C3
Mug ~V000, V12, V15, V17, E21, E27
Rings / Nails ~ BG0000, BG23, BG34, C3

I fussy cut the girl leaving some of the dots and hearts around the outline. I trimmed up the sentiment so it would fit across the background. It measures about 7/8 x 4". I then adhered the bottom portion of the girl to the sentiment. I added lots of foam tape to the back of both and set them aside.

I trimmed the background to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a card front of Cool Caribbean card stock from Stampin' Up. I then adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base. I removed the backing from the foam tape and popped up the sentiment and girl on the card. And to finish it off I added five rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes. I love using purples and blues for winter cards and I think it really works with this sentiment. Doesn't she look cold?! LOL

To celebrate 5 years of hopping with our friends we got to thinking that it would be fun to share our favorite card from the past five years... well, I couldn't pick just one. I had about a dozen saved. I was able to narrow it down to five which I thought was reasonable for a 5 year anniversary. So here are my five favorites in no particular order...

Do you have a favorite card that I've made over the past five years?! I would love to hear which one is your favorite. Be sure to share in the comments which card has been your favorite for a chance to win a fun giveaway. I'll choose one lucky winner for this giveaway and announce the winner next month.

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize package and that lucky winner is...

... Jenni S!! Congratulations, Jenni!!
Please email me at crystalominkler@gmail.com to claim your prize.
Prize must be claimed within two weeks.

That's it for my cards this month! AND in addition to the giveaway I mentioned above, I'm having another giveaway!!! Woohoo!! I will be announcing the winner for both my giveaways next month for our January 2023 blog hop!!

Thank you all so much for your continued support of our little hop for these 5 fantastic years!!! I really, truly do appreciate each and every one of your sweet comments!

A few of my friends are having giveaways on their blogs too, so be sure to hop and comment on each of our blogs!! And now the amazing giveaway that I mentioned at the beginning of my blog post... Angela has generously offered (3) $25 Unity gift cards to giveaway for our 5 year anniversary celebration!!! How amazing is that?! If you'd like a chance to win one of these gift cards be sure to hop and comment on EACH of our blogs... three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments and they could be chosen from any of the blogs participating in the hop, not just mine!! So be sure to hop and comment by December 10th!! The winners for the (3) $25 Unity gift cards will be announced here on my blog and on the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group on December 11th. On a side note, as you hop along and comment, I wanted to recommend using Google Chrome as your browser. We've been having issues for awhile now with some hoppers only being able to comment as Anonymous and if you use Google Chrome you should be able to log in and comment as you hop. If you're still only able to comment as anonymous PLEASE add your name to the comment. I will only choose winners with a name included if not signed in with a google account. I hope this helps some of you. I know that it's been very frustrating!

Let's get to the hopping...

Thanks so very much for supporting our little hop!
We appreciate you!!

See ya next time.

Christmas in July 2022 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Beary Christmas Tags ~ Not 2 Shabby

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm super excited to share my holiday projects for today... tags!! They turned out SO cute! I just fell in love with the sweet Beary Christmas stamp set from returning Sponsor Not 2 Shabby and couldn't wait to play with them as soon as they got to my house!! It was impossible to pick just one so I inked them all up. Aren't they just THE cutest!?!

These adorable bears and the coordinating dies are the Stamp and Die of the Month... a wonderful subscription available at Not 2 Shabby. You can sign up to receive the Stamp and Die of the month each month with an 18% discount or you can select to just buy the stamp and die of the month without signing up for that monthly subscription at the full retail price. I love that you get the option to just buy the combo!

Anywho, I paired them up with the darling Meowy Christmas paper pad from returning Sponsor Newton's Nook Designs. Having the papers picked out really helped when it came to coloring up these cuties! I stamped the four bears with Memento Tuxedo Black ink... this is my favorite ink when stamping with clear stamps because it cleans off nicely. I then die cut the four bears with the coordinating die.

I also die cut the four tag bases from Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink with the Make A Tag {die set} from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. I then die cut the smallest tags from the pattern paper. And then I got to coloring with my Copic markers:

Christmas Tree Bear:
Tree ~ YG11, YG23, R27, Y06, Y35, E21, E23, E25
Ear Muffs ~ C00, C2, R20, R14, R27
Bear ~ W00, W1, W3, W5

Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Bear:
Hat ~ C00, C2, R20, R27, YG11, YG23
Ice Cream ~ YG11, YG23, E21, E23, E25
Bear ~ W00, W1, W2, W4

Santa Bear:
Hat ~ C00, C2, C3, R20, R14, R27
Scarf ~ R20, R14, R27
Bear ~ W00, W1, W3, W5

Gift Bear:
Gift ~ YG11, YG23, R27
Bear ~ W00, W2, W4

I adhered the tags together and used my Crop-a-dile to punch the hole in the tops. I used a white organdy ribbon that I tied with a candy cane twine. I also looped a skinny green ribbon through the hole so I can attach the tags to gifts. I popped up the bears on the tags with foam tape. And then to finish them all off I stamped the sentiment which also has coordinating dies... bonus! I adhered the sentiments to the tags with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape so that they will lay flat on the tag. I just love how these turned out! I hope to make a card or two with these cuties too... love them!

Not a Card ~ All Things Halloween Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing not one... but TWO fun Halloween creations for the All Things Halloween Challenge going on this month in the Unity Show & Tell group! I decided to make a Halloween tag for a treat bag and I just couldn't help making a fun Halloween Memory Dex card too!

I started by blending Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks on a piece of white card stock. I die cut the piece with a stitched tag die from my stash and stamped only the one side of the fun haunted house from the Haunted House Halloween stamp. I stamped the Spooky sentiment from the Kooky Spooky & Batty stamp in the background with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink. I wanted it to blend into the background and not be the main sentiment.

Now I mentioned above that I blended with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink and unfortunately, when I tried stamping the Happy Halloween stamp on the bottom part of the tag the embossing powder got messed up. So... I grabbed a scrap of black card stock and redid the sentiment... stamping it with Wow Clear Embossing ink and I melted the Golden Gourd embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I die cut it with the same stitched tag die so it'll fit in the bottom of the tag and I tore the top to give some texture to the tag. To finish it up and tie the whole project together I stamped the sweet little pumpkin from the Little Boos stamp kit and colored it up with the following Copic markers:

Pumpkin ~ YR15, YR21, YR68
Stem / Leaf ~ E23, E27, G24, G46

I fussy cut the pumpkin and cleaned up the edges by running my Memento Tuxedo black marker along the edges and then just adhered the pumpkin to the tag. I used some {Black} May Arts Burlap String to tie the tag to the treat bag.

I had so much fun making the tag that I decided to make a Memory Dex card with the same colors and basically the same technique. I stamped the haunted house with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink... I love how some of the oxide inks bleeds through adding texture to the house. I stamped the same Spooky sentiment with Caved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink. And then I stamped the cute bat from the same Kooky Spooky & Bat Itty Bitty stamps. I fussy cut it and then clean up the edges with my Memento Tuxedo marker. I popped it up on the Memory Dex card with tiny pieces of foam tape.

To finish up my Memory Dex card, I stamped the happy Halloween sentiment from the Little Boos stamp kit and trimmed it into a flag. I then added a bit of Black Soot Distress Oxide inks around the edges with a Tim Holtz Distress Blending Brush and stapled it to the memory dex card.

Thanks SO much for stopping by today! I sure hope you've been inspired by my Halloween makes... if you'd like to see a few more pictures of my tag and Memory Dex card head over to the Unity blog! I'd love to see what amazing and fun Halloween creations you've been making with your Unity stamps. Join in the fun over at the Unity Show & Tell group! I'll see you all back here next Thursday with one more Halloween card for the All Things Halloween Challenge!

Crystal
