Vintage Fabulous Bday Card ~ Mortal Sparkle ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back today to share a fun birthday card using the awesome Mortal Sparkle stamps from Unity's January release! This gal and the sentiments are SO funny and perfect for a funny card.

I stamped her with Black Amalgam ink and colored her in with my Copic markers. Fussy cut her leaving a bit of a border. And then I popped her up on the panel.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair: C00, C2
Tutu / Hat: V0000, V000, V12, V15, V09
Cake: E30, E31, V0000, V12, V15, V09, Y11, Y15, Y35

I had this embossed panel is my stash of 'scraps to use later' and thought it was perfect for this gal! I trimmed it down to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8" and adhered it to a mat of Plum Pudding card stock from Papertrey Ink measuring 4 x 5-1/4". The purple card base measures 8-1/2 x 5-1/2"; scored at 4-1/4" and I used Lilac Grace card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I stamped the sentiments, trimmed them, and then popped them up with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 53 ~ Snowy Pastels ~ Not 2 Shabby

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with a little inspiration for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 53 hosted in the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a sweet holiday card featuring another beautiful set of papers and ephemera from our fab sponsor, Not 2 Shabby!

I am in love with these gorgeous papers!! The colors are so beautiful! I used the Snowy Pastels 6x6 Paper Pad and the coordinating Snowy Pastels Ephemera. Love the sweet deer ephemera!

This month's design is so simple. I love how quick a card can come together with this sketch, pretty papers and cute ephemera!

The sweet sentiment is from the Gingerbread Hugs stamp set {sadly, it's no longer available}. I've used this sentiment many times over the years though. It's a fave!

Here's a look at {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 53 for the month of January. If you're interested in seeing a bit more inspiration for this sketch, check out the amazing inspiration from the design team over on the {BYSH} Cardmakers blog! The design team, as always, rocked this sketch!

Best Decision You Ever Made ~ Snarky Valentines ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back today to share a quick and funny Valentine's Day card using the awesome Snarky Valentines stamps from Unity's January release. So many hilarious and fun sentiments!

I went with a very simple card design so the sentiment would be the star. I love this! Pretty sure this will be my hubby's Valentine's Day card! LOL

I paired the Snarky Valentines sentiment with the beautiful Enveloped in Love {paper pack}. I actually had these papers in the pack already for a card. Easy peasy! I die cut the sentiment using a banner die from the Scallops & Banners {nesting dies}. Distressed the edges leaving a little bit of white peeking through in the center. I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of the banner and popped it up on the card. And then I finished this card off with one heart enamel dot.

To finish off the card, I added one heart enamel dot from my stash. Such a fun card to make!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Membership Wednesday ~ January 2025 KOM Kinda Made for Each Other ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!
Happy Membership Wednesday! Today I'm sharing a sweet card featuring three of the cute house stamps from the January 2025 Kit of the Month membership from Unity called Kinda Made for Each Other.

I've been in a bit of a CAS mood for my cards. I stamped the houses on a scrap of white card stock with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs and colored them with Copic markers. I fussy cut each of them and colored the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:
Tan House: Y11, Y15, E30, E31, E37
White House: C00, C2, Y11, Y15
Brown House: Y11, Y15, E30, E31, E37
Greenery / Flowers: YG25, YG67, RV14

I created a simple scene card by ink blending a bit of ground or grass with the edge of a piece of card stock and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I then flipped that card stock to cover the edge of the 'grass' and blended a bit of blue sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. And then using the Cloud & Wave Stencil, I blended some clouds using the same Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. In all of my blending I lightened my touch as I moved out to the edges of the card base so it just fades to white space.

I trimmed up the sentiment and adhered it directly to the card along with all the houses. And that finished off the card. Easy peasy.

Here's a quick look at this month's Kit of the Month membership! Isn't is wonderful?!

Well, that's it for me today! I hope you've been inspired to play with your membership stamps!
Have an inkredible day!

Release Day Blog Hop ~ Coffee Couple ~ The Greeting Farm

The January 2025 New Release is now available for purchase in The Greeting Farm Store! This month we introduced 3 new stamp sets. Our first set called ANYA IN NEW YORK features our fabulous girl touring all the hot spots in the Big Apple. Next, we showcased the cutest critters reading to each other in a set called BOOK LOVER. Lastly, we introduced COFFEE COUPLE featuring Anya and Ian drinking their favorite brew.

I made a fun coffee card with a vintage vibe. I just had to ink up the sweet Anya from the Coffee Couple stamp set! She is just too cute. I paired her up with some fun coffee papers in my stash that I had previously die cut. I distressed the edges with a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhered them to a script paper from the same paper pack. I heat embossed the sentiment with white pigment ink and white embossing powder on black card stock. After fussy cutting Anya and coloring the edge of my cutting, I adhered her to the sentiment strip and then popped them both up with foam tape. And finished off the card with some black and white enamel dots.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E04, R00, R20
Hair: Y21, YR24, YR18
Dress / Shoes / Hairband: B000, N2, N4, N6

Coffee Couple ~ Preview Day 3 ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's the final day of previews at The Greeting Farm! Today we have a super cute couple with a coffee theme. So excited for this set!

Need Coffee? YES! Always should be the answer! LOL! I thought it would be fun to create a background with the sentiment so I stamped it several times. And then I ink smooshed the panel with Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I was pleasantly surprised that the sentiments didn't bleed. Phew. I'm thinking it was because the sentiments had set overnight to dry, but it could also be that I didn't use a lot of water to thin out the ink. Either way... I'm happy with how it turned out. The coffee rings in the background are from my mug that actually had tea in it at the time. Heehee... I just placed my mug in the inky puddle of Ground Espresso ink and then 'stamped' the panel with it. I added a few spatters to the inky background using the rest of the Ground Espresso ink on my table.

I stamped the adorable Ian with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him up with Copic markers. I'm pushing myself to use other markers. I tend to grab the same ones over and over. Not for this card!
Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E04
Hair: Y21, E42, E43, E44
Jacket: B91, B95, B97, B99
Hoodie: G82, G17, G29
Yellow T-shirt: Y11, Y15, Y17
Khakis: E30, E33
Shoes: N0, N2, N4
Cup: C00, C2, RV10, RV11, RV04, YR21, YR15

I trimmed the panel and adhered it to a dark brown card base. Fussy cut Ian and colored the edges of the fussy cutting with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I added a bit of white gel pen to the eyes. And then I added foam tape to the back of Ian and to the extra sentiment that I had stamped and trimmed.

I popped them up on the card and finished it off with a few brown enamel dots. So fun! The release goes live in the store on the 15th at 12am EST... that's tomorrow! Woohoo!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Paws Challenge #236 ~ Color Challenge {Week 2}

Hello there crafty friend!
It's week two of the Inky Paws Challenge! We're playing with a fun mix of colors this month for a Color Challenge! I sure hope that you'll join us and play along with your Newton's Nook Designs products! Our challenges are now a whole month long so there's lots of time to play along with us! Yay! You have until Friday, January 31st to get your entries in for the #236 Color Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

We have a gorgeous mix of colors that are perfect for so many different occasions. Our lovely colors are... Cherry Red, Dreamy Turquoise, Buttery Brown, and White!!

I had so much fun making this card! I started by die cutting the background and the brown papers from the Coffee Shop 6x6 Paper Pad. I die cut the background and the ticket shape using dies from the Framework Die Set.

Inspiration for my card comes from the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 28. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I'd love for you to join in the fun over at the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group.

I die cut the coffee cups and hearts using dies from the Coffee Silhouettes Die Set. I love these dies and I'm super happy I finally played with them. I die cut the cups from Kraft, Stampers Select White, and Pure Poppy card stock from Papertrey Ink. And the bottom cup is die cut from Bermuda Bay card stock from Stampin' Up.

I finished off the card with a fun {and true!} sentiment from the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set. It's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed it up and adhered it directly on the card. No foam tape for this one.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the color combo of Cherry Red, Dreamy Turquoise, Buttery Brown, and White. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal
