Inky Paws Challenge #226 ~ Summer Theme Challenge Reminder

Hello there crafty friend!
There's still time to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge #226 - Summer Theme Challenge! You have until this coming Friday, July 5th to get your entries in for this fun challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I am loving this theme! I prefer Fall and Winter myself, but I do love beach stamps! And beach stamps are perfect for Summer!

I stamped the cute car from the Beach Bound Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And then I had a blast coloring it up with Copic markers. I went with a classic red. I tried to coordinate it with the red in the papers. I think it works pretty well! Once I was happy with my coloring I die cut the car using the coordinating Beach Bound Die Set.

Here's the list of the Copic markers I used:
Car: R20, R14, R37
Windows: B0000, B000, B00
Bumpers / Door Handle / Roof Rack: N0, N1
Tires: N1, N2, N4, N6
Surfboard: YG11, YG23

I paired up the Beach Bound car with the awesome Summertime 6x6 Paper Pad. I had so much fun mixing and matching the papers that I die cut using the die from the A2 Card Layout Die Set. I also die cut the frame from Stampers Select White Card Stock from Papertrey Ink. That left me with extra white pieces so I made a little sandy hill for the car using the center white piece. I die cut it using the Land Borders Die Set and then I blended a bit of brown ink on the top without actually adding any ink to my blending brush because I didn't want it to be dark.

All of my layers are centered on a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4" card front of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock from Stampin' Up and then adhered to a white A2 top fold card base turned on its side for a landscape card. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock and mat it with a scrap of the same turquoise card stock. No foam tape for this one... just adhered all the layers directly on the card.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project with a Summer theme. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Masculine Birthday Card ~ Still Turning Heads ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm digging this awesome new mustang stamp called Still Turning Heads from Unity's new release. I absolutely love old cars! This was a fun one to color too. All the details in the stamp made it so easy to color up.

I stamped the car and sentiment from the amazing Still Turning Heads stamps using Black Amalgam ink from Gina K Designs onto Stampers Select White Card Stock from Papertrey Ink. I knew I wanted to make a slimline card for this one so I stamped the car on the far right side.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Car: BG000, BG02, BG45, BG57
Wheel / Lights: C00, C1, Colorless Blender
Plate: Y35, YR15, YR16

I die cut the image using the Big and Little Chain Slimline dies from Gina Marie Designs. I also die cut another piece of white card stock. I blended over a stencil in my stash. I believe it's from one of the past Whit Kit's but I'm really not sure. I just blended using my yellow and orange blending brushes. I didn't add any more ink to the brushes just used what was on them.

I cut the car panel diagonally and then adhered the panel to the stenciled panel. I trimmed a piece of True Black Card Stock from Papertrey Ink to 7 x 8-1/2" and scored it at 3-1/2" making a slimline card base. I adhered the car panel to the base finishing this card off. That's it for me today.
Hope you have an ink-tastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Paws Challenge #210 ~ Sketch Challenge

 Hello there crafty friend!
Who's up for a new challenge?! It's time to get our paws inky with a fun sketch challenge! I am loving the paper layers for this sketch. You have until Friday, November 10th to get your entries in for the #210 Sketch Challenge and a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I've been creating cards for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Falling for the Holidays Linky Party so it's no surprise that Christmas is on my mind. So I just had to make another Christmas card!

I had a blast with my paper layers for this one. I used the lovely Christmas Time 6x6 Paper Pad. I die cut the tree papers using the postage stamp die from the Framework Die Set. The cute scalloped frame was also made using a die from that set.

I stamped the cute car from the Destination Christmas Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it up with my Copic markers. I die cut it using the coordinating Destination Christmas Die Set. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Trees {die cut & stamped}: YG11, G24, G46, E23, E25, E27
Car: R20, R14, R46
Bumper / Door Handle / Wheel: C00, C1, C3
Tire: N0, N1, N3, N5
Window: B0000, B000

I created a bit of scene for the card using the hill die from the Land Borders Die Set to create some snowy layers. I also die cut a tree using a tree die from the Forest Scene Builder Die Set that I colored up with my Copic markers {listed above}. The sentiment is heat embossed using a white pigment ink, white embossing powder and a heat tool to melt the powder. I trimmed it up and cut a fishtail and popped it up on the card with foam tape.

Now it's your turn to get your paws inky with your Newton's Nook Designs products and create a project using the sketch. Be sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge! Can't wait to see your projects!

Masculine Birthday ~ Shatter & Keepin it Classy ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Sharing a fun masculine card today using the amazing new Shatter background stamp and Keepin it Classy stamps that just released over at Unity Stamp Co. I had a fun idea using the Joseph's Coat Technique and I think it turned out pretty cool.

The background was ink smooshed with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. I left a lot of white on the background too. I then stamped the cool Shatter background stamp using a Wow Clear Embossing ink. I applied Crystal Clear Embossing powder to the inked background and melted it with my heat tool.

I wanted the embossing nice and thick and I meant to restamp the background in my stamp platform but I forgot to replace my corner magnet and pulled out my card stock. SO... I heated up the embossed background and dabbed it in the embossing powder and then melted it again. I did this a few times all over the card front so the embossed area was well embossed. And then I blended over the entire background with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. The black ink covered the background that wasn't heat embossed giving this wonderful dimension to the card!

Love how the background turned out! I trimmed it up and adhered it to a black card front. I then stamped the car from the Keepin it Classy stamps and colored it up with my Copic markers. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers that I used: YR000, YR15, YR68, Y02, Y15, N0, N2, N4, C00, C1, C3

I fussy cut the car on the line. Made the edges look all nice and neat with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of the car and popped it up on the card. To finish off the card, I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the card and trimmed off the excess that was hanging off the edge.

If you haven't already, you really should stop by Unity Stamp Co. and check out all the amazing new background stamps that were released along with a few new ones!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal
