CAS Stenciled Background ~ Brew It Anya Card ~ The Greeting Farm

 Hello there crafty friend!

I am super excited and honored to be guest designing for The Greeting Farm for the month of September!! I have a few fun projects to share with you all this month... starting with an adorable CAS card I created using the beautiful Brew It Anya stamp! She just may be my first ever stamp set from The Greeting Farm. I love this stamp so much... it's definitely a fave!

I decided to go with a brighter color palette and I asked my daughter to help pick the colors. I had light blue and yellow copics picked out and my daughter picked out the cute green for the scarf and boots. So cute! I ink blended Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks over a knit stencil on a piece of white card stock measuring 4 x 5-1/4". I stamped the sentiment directly over the stenciled background with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I then adhered the panel to a blue A2 side fold card base.

I stamped the sweet Brew It Anya with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored her up with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair ~ YR31, E43, E44
Scarf ~ YG0000, YG23, B02
Dress ~ B0000, B00, B02
Boots ~ YG0000, YG09, YG23
Bag ~ Y06, Y15
Hair Clip ~ YG0000, YG23
Cup ~ C00, C2, E21, E25, YG09

I fussy cut Anya and cleaned up the edges of the image with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. I popped Anya up on the card with foam squares and then added a bit of glossy accents to her bear barrette. I added flowers to her scarf with the B02 copic marker and a white gel pen. I also added a flower to the cup with the white gel pen and a YG09 copic marker for the little leaf.

I hope I've inspired you to get inky!
See you next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal

3 Day Mermaid Hop ~ Trishell ~ The Greeting Farm

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to be joining a bunch of crafty friends in the 2nd Annual 3 Day Mermaid Hop!! I just adore mermaids and this hop is a perfect chance to ink up some of my favorite mermaid stamps!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made with the beautiful Trishell stamp from The Greeting Farm. Isn't she just the cutest?! The Greeting Farm has a bunch of adorable mermaids in their shop. I chose this one because I haven't inked her up yet and one of my crafty goals this year has been to ink up those neglected stamps that I had to have in my collection.

I stamped Trishell twice, first on a scrap of white card stock and then again on a white card front measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I set the one on the scrap card stock aside and grabbed a couple of stencils to create my background. Using Trishell as my guide, I blended the Wave stencil from The Crafters Workshop along with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink... but on a side note, I hadn't cleaned my blending brush so I think the waves have a bit of Peacock Feathers blended in there too. For the sun rays I used the Rays mini stencil found in the Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set 5 and I blended Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink over that one.

I set aside the background and got to coloring this sweet mermaid with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, R01, R20
Hair ~ BV0000, BV000, BV11
Bikini / Tail ~ BG10, BG13, BG32, BG57
Conch Shell ~ RV000, RV10, RV21, BV11, E35

I fussy cut the mermaid and made the edges all nice and clean with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. I die cut the background with a stitched rectangle die. I then grabbed a piece of Weathervane card stock and fussy cut a rock free hand. I added a bit of shading to the rock with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I adhered the rock to the background and then adhered the mermaid over top being sure to line her up just right over the mermaid in the background. I added some white gel pen to the pearls on her bikini strap and added some Simply White Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops to her hair. I popped up the background with foam tape adhering it to a white A2 top fold card base. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card stock and trimmed it. I cut a couple of skinny strips from the foam tape and adhered them to the bottom and right side of the sentiment so it would sit level and then I also used some Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue on the top portion of the sentiment to adhere it in place.

Be sure to check out all the other creations in the 3 Day Mermaid Hop by checking out the hashtag #mermaidsarereal. Some of the stops on the hop are having giveaways!

The Rabbit Hole Designs ~ Caffeinated Octopus ~ Gets me Kraken!

Hello there! Today, I'm sharing a card I made with the fabulous Caffeinated: Octopus set from The Rabbit Hole Designs for the CASology Cue Card: Wave challenge. I am loving all the fun Caffeinated stamps from this new stamp company!! And thought this octopus would be perfect for this challenge!!

I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink over the My Favorite Things Make Waves stencil being sure to keep the blending light. I then stamped the Caffeinated: Octopus twice... once over the stenciled background and again on a scrap piece of white card stock. I knew that I didn't want to fussy cut around all those wayward hairs poking out of the octopus' curlers so I could fussy cut those right off but still have them on the card.

I colored in the octopus using the following Copic markers:

Octopus ~ BV04, BV31, BV34, R000, R11
Curlers ~ BG000, BG13, BG15
Coffee Pot ~ E44, E47, E49, N0, N1, N5, N8
Mugs ~ RV0000, RV17, RV19, RV21

I also used a touch of white gel pen on the mugs and coffee pot. The red in the eyes was made using a Paper Mate Ink Joy pen. I colored around the outer edges of the eyes with the R000 and R11 copic markers and then made tiny squiggly lines with the red pen. I fussy cut the octopus and then adhered it over the image I had stamped on the card front. I then ran the card front through the Big Shot with the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner and then adhered the whole piece to a white card base.

Here's one more look at the finished card... pretty simple, but oh so fun!
Love this Caffeinated: Octopus!!

There's still a little bit of time to play along with the CASology challenge!

Scrapping for Less ~ The Greeting Farm ~ Save the Day

Hello! Today, I'm sharing a Valentine's Day card using The Greeting Farm's Save the Day stamp set. I don't know about you all but I needed a little break from the Christmas card making... don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and I love making Christmas cards, but I needed a little creative break. So when I saw this sweet set I knew I was going to use it to make a Valentine's Day card for my husband. He's my hero!

I had a rough idea for my design but believe it or not... it was supposed to be a no layer card. LOL! Isn't it funny how sometimes the card just evolves into something you didn't quite plan?! Well, that was the case with this one. I started with the Stitched Arch Stax dies from My Favorite Things. I die cut the white and the black layers and then decided I wanted to have red in the mix since it's a Valentine, that only made sense... so I thought a red card base would be good. And then on my desk I saw the new Polka Heart Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn... of course, I had to use it! I used it to die cut a white piece of card stock that I trimmed down and adhered to the red card base.

That turned out to be too much white in the background so to break that up I found some papers from my stash with a Valentine's theme and trimmed them down. I adhered it to a piece of red card stock and then used a stitched scalloped edge die on both sides of the patterned paper. I adhered this panel to the card base and set it aside.

Using a grassy edge stencil, I blended some Mowed Lawn distress ink for the grass on the bottom of the first layer. I then used a mini cloud edge stencil with Tumbled Glass distress ink to create some clouds in the background. I set that piece aside and stamped the images using Memento tuxedo black ink. I then colored them in using the following Copic markers:

Trees ~ G05, G17, G24

Knight ~ C0, C2, C4, C8, R000, R37, R89, E55, E57, E59

Lady ~ E0000, E000, E00, E55, E57, E59, R000, R14, R20, R27

I fussy cut each of them out along the black lines and then went over the edges of the images using a Memento tuxedo marker (that helps to clean up the edges). I decided the Lady needed a little glittery goodness on her dress so I added some Sprinkled Sugar Stickles to the image. I just love how the ombre coloring of her dress looks with the beautiful glitter on it. I adhered the images to create the scene and then popped up the arch panel on the card. I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark watermark ink on a scrap of red card stock and then heat embossed fine white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and then adhered it to the card using foam tape on the left side and liquid glue on the right since it would lay over the popped up arch.

Here's a close-up look at the glittery goodness on the Lady's dress. Love it!
Well, that's it for me. I hope that you enjoyed my first Valentine's Day card for the coming year!
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
~ Crystal
