~ Growing in Unity ~ Day Three ~ Fall Greetings

Hello! I can't believe it's already Day Three of my Growing in Unity week! It is flying by!

One of my favorite sources of inspiration is Sketches! Card Sketches are amazing! Those of you that know me, know I love me a good sketch! They can really get you thinking and if you find sketches with the measurements already figured out... it's like Christmas! LOL!

I keep a Sketch journal... it's a journal with grid paper that I doodle sketches in for card ideas. I was doodling a sketch for today and I thought it would be fun to do a lot of layers. I love Fall... it's my favorite season. The weather is cooler and the colors are just gorgeous.

So I thought a card with a lot of layers to use some of my pretty fall patterned papers would be fun. And then of course, I had to use this sweet owl from Unity's Owl {Bring Fall Greetings} set.
A fun mix of papers and a simple stamped and colored focal image... BAM!

I adhered the layers to a Kraft card base and set it aside. I then stamped the owl with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored it in with the following Copic markers ~ E33, E50, E51, Y000, Y35, YR15, YR68. I mat the owl piece on a piece of the patterned paper. I adhered the stitched flags to the back of the focal piece and then popped up the entire piece on the card. I stamped the sentiment and used the smallest stitched flag to die cut it out and then popped it up on the card. My final touch for this card was a pretty wood heart... why? Well, because I love owls, fall, and sketches! LOL

Be sure to leave a comment on each of my GIU blog posts for a chance to win one of two fabulous grab bags of 25 stamps from Unity Stamp Company!!!
