Scrapping for Less ~ Flavor of the Month Card Kit ~ Glass Slippers Collection!

Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing more inspiration using the Glass Slippers Collection from the It's All About the Girls card kit from Scrapping for Less! This is just one of the four fabulous collections included in this card kit and there are just a handful of card kits left so be sure to snatch yours up before they are gone!! I had so much fun with the pretty papers and the beautiful ephemera in this collection! Let's get to the cards, shall we?!

My first card uses a cut-a-part from the Glass Slippers patterned papers in the collection for the sentiment with a fun quote from Walt Disney. I thought it paired beautifully with the castle papers and the castle ephemera. I die cut a square window from the yellow leaf papers and also die cut the square scalloped window from the green paper. I trimmed down a piece of the castle paper just big enough to fit the scalloped window and adhered it to a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" piece of Nightshift Blue card stock. I then adhered the patterned papers to the panel and tied some pretty white organdy ribbon from my stash around the panel and tied it off cutting the ends like a faux bow. I then adhered my panel to a white card base. I popped up the cut-a-part piece and the ephemera castle with foam squares. I really love the dimension that the window gives the card!

My second card was a very quick way to finish off those scraps of pretty patterned paper. I pretty much finished off the Banana Split card stock with this one, too. I used the yellow card stock for my card front that I adhered to a white card base. I adhered a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" piece of Nightshift Blue card stock to the card and then mat my patterned papers to some of the Banana Split card stock. I adhered those to the card and cut my flag (or banner) piece. I adhered the flag piece and realized I had forgotten to stamp the sentiment after popping up the flower ephemera piece with foam squares so I decided to stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of white card stock, trimmed it and adhered it on the flag. To finish off the card, I added a few of the clear enamel dots. I really love the beautiful floral papers on this dark background... makes for a very striking card!

I have to admit I dug into my stash for this card... I had run out of Nightshift Blue card stock with that bottom strip across the card. I had a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of the Nightshift Blue card stock left over from a previous card kit so I used it. Again, I love the striking contrast with the dark background and the pretty blues, yellow and gold! So beautiful! I used another cut-a-part piece for my sentiment and the matching ephemera piece. These beautiful princess ephemera pieces are so gorgeous... I just love them!! And I was super excited to see that they are offered in the A La Carte section of the SFL shop ---> Glass Slipper Ephemera!!

I just love how my last card turned out!! For this card I used product exclusive to the Banana Split subscription... I love the extra goodies included in this month's kit!! I used the beautiful Flourish stencil to create my background. Since I wanted more of a dreamy background... kinda magical... I just used purple tape to secure the Flourish stencil over the Distress Watercolor card stock from my stash, rather than using Pixie Spray to secure it down which would have given clean crisp lines to the background. I sprayed the card stock lightly with water and then watercolor washed some Picked Raspberry Distress ink over the top left corner and the bottom right corner. I dabbed up the excess water and watercolor washed some Scattered Straw Distress ink (from my stash) that I watered down to get a lighter yellow color. I pulled up the stencil and dried the background with my heat tool.

I trimmed the background down to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered it to a white card base. I popped up the princess ephemera piece with foam squares and adhered a few sequins from the collection around the card. I then die cut the Beautiful Word die {exclusive to the Banana Split subscription of the card kit} several times from my last scrap of Banana Split card stock. I adhered three layers of the Beautiful Word die together and then adhered three more layers of the Beautiful Word die together. I decided I'd adhere the Beautiful Word die across the bottom of the princesses dress so I cut one of the layers of die cuts just after the letter 'e' giving me three layers of the word 'be'. I adhered those layers to the bottom of my other die cut of the Beautiful Word die and then adhered the entire die cut piece to the card. The extra layers under the 'be' portion of the die cut were perfect to keep the whole piece level with the height given to the princess ephemera piece from the foam squares. Love it!!

So, I've pretty much finished up this collection in my stash but I saw that the consumable products in the collections are available to purchase in the A La Carte section of the shop... the card stock, the pretty patterned papers, the ephemera, and the enamel dots!! I can restock my stash and make more pretty cards! Woohoo!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky Hugs,
Crystal

We are sooooo excited to bring you this kit for the month of February. This kit is packed with wonderful fantasy goodies. So, don't delay! There are limited kits available this month. Let your knight in shining armor deliver a kit to your door! Head over to the Flavor of the Month page to get your kit now! Enjoy all the wonderful creations our team and guest designer has for you today. So, sit back and join along in our fantasy world this morning.

I am so thrilled to share my cards for the kit this month! We're just going to get right to it!

My first card is for Collection One and I used Sketch #1. I shared the sweet Stamping Bella dragon that's included in this collection for my sneak peek card... if you missed that you can check it out here. So for this card, I decided to use the icon stickers that are included. How cute are these little dragons?! I kept this card pretty simple and pretty much stayed with the sketch. But...

I did add some more icon stickers to the inside! How fun! I have a sweet little nephew turning 2 very soon and I made this card with him in mind.

My second card is for Collection Two and I used Sketch #3. I had A LOT of fun with the papers for this card! It took me a bit of time to figure out what to use where but it just kind of came together on it's own. Does that ever happen to you? The card just speaks to you?! LOL... well, maybe I'm just a paper whisperer. LOL! I'm cracking myself up. Anywho, I did color this sweet unicorn with copics {RV06, RV10, RV11, N0, N1, Y06, Y35} and I added some white gel pen and then decided to also go over it with a glitter gel pen. Every unicorn needs some glitter!! I ended up moving my sentiment for this sketch but Oh My Goodness... this sentiment is from Teresa's new kit that is included in the Banana Split level and it's amazing! I love the fabulous sentiments in this stamp set! My last touch on this card was a couple of stickers... the rainbow/star is from this collection and the cloud is from the Doodlebug Designs Rainbow Doodlepop that is included in the Banana Split level.

My third card is for Collection Three and I used Sketch #2. Oh My Goodness! How adorable is this image?! I just love it! It was so much fun to color... like I was a part of a fairy tale! Well, I started by picking the papers for the card and I pulled the colors for the images from the papers. I loved the peach colors for the little princesses dress and hat... and even her shoes! She looks so sweet! I also decided to go an unconventional route here with the knight in shining 'teal' armor... oh, but I think it works! I used the following copics for this image {Skin - E000, E21, E50, E51, E53, RV10; Hair - E55, E57, YR20, YR23, YR31; Dress/hat/shoes - YR0000, YR01, YR15; Armor/helmet/flower - BG000, BG15, BG18, R81, R85, R89; Knight's shoes - N3, N4, N7}.
I kept to the sketch on this one, except I flipped it on the side. The sentiment is another fun one from the exclusive Scrapping for Less Castles and Dreams sentiment stamp set... love it!

I didn't do anything fancy on the inside of this one. I just stamped the sentiment from the Stamping Bella Knight/Princess set. I was thinking this may be a fun anniversary card!

And my fourth for today is from Collection Four and I used Sketch #4. When I received my kit for this month, my daughter was with me and she just Oohhed and Aahhed when we opened everything up. She really loved this princess though and since her favorite color is purple (most days... it seems to change daily!), I thought I'd make this card for her. I used the Echo Park Once Upon a Time Princess papers from the collection to make the layers. I colored the image using copic markers {Skin - E000, E21, E51, RV10; Hair - YR20, YR23, YR31; Dress - 0, V01, V04} and then I trimmed the card stock down and mat it on a piece of the Grape Jelly card stock in the kit. I popped the main image up using foam tape. I added a cute little enamel heart and a few of the pearl enamels. So cute!

I had so much fun playing with this awesome kit! I hope you've enjoyed the cards I shared! Now it's time to check out all the other fabulous creations from the Design Team.

More Perfect Princess Fun With Echo Park/Carta Bella

Hello! Today I have a few more cards using our brand focus of the month ~ Echo Park and Carta Bella! I was given the Echo Park Perfect Princess paper pad and matching Frames & Tags Ephemera pack... can we say Adorbs!! Oh my goodness... the cuteness is just too much in this collection.

For all three of the cards that I made I used basically the same sketch. I die cut the background paper and added a strip of paper along the center.

I then found different frames to feature on each card with a tag accent to add. Each one has a fun sentiment that completed the card very quickly.

On my last card I flipped the frame and off set it. I also trimmed the sentiment tag so that it wasn't too big and take away the fun of the fairy.

On the Unicorn card, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the pink frame and the hair of the unicorn. You can see that a little better in this picture.

I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings, shoes and her wand. It's not as easy to see in this picture, but it's there! I promise!

I really hope that you've enjoyed the cards I've shared today. They were definitely fun to make!

Thanks for stopping by!

See ya next time.

Scrapping for Less Blog Hop featuring Carta Bella and Echo Park

Scrapping for Less is in love with Echo Park/Carta Bella!!
All of us here at Scrapping for Less absolutely love Echo Park Paper Co. They are a really diverse company and bring many, many patterns out each and every year. They have at least one release each month and could not be cuter! Cause who doesn’t love some absolutely cute pattern paper?

This month’s focus is this fabulous paper company and the Design Team has outdone themselves with some great projects. You can read all about the interview Teresa had with Madison Parker (the owner of Echo Park/Carta Bella) just in case you missed it.

I love Echo Park's papers!! The 6x6 paper pads are so much fun to play with and what's better than some fun paper piecing! I think it was an absolute must for this cute card! I was inspired by the Perfect Princess paper pad to share a bit of magic! Being a bit of a bookworm myself, I imagined my daughter entranced in the magic of one of her fairy tale books... and this card came to life.

I stamped the image from My Favorite Things BB Our Story on white card stock as my base. I colored the skin and hair using copic markers. I then stamped the image a few more times on the different pieces of patterned paper and fussy cut the different pieces. I adhered all the different pieces to my white base... it's like putting a puzzle together, so fun!

I die cut a circle making a 'window' and then die cut a stitched scalloped circle to adhere on top. The 'magic' sentiment is a die cut cardstock piece from the coordinating frames & tags ephemera pack. I sponged a little bit of distress ink around the edges to help pop the sentiment.

I also added some clear Wink of Stella around the stitched scalloped circle and the sentiment. You can see the glittery goodness a bit better in this picture.

Now here's the hoppers lineup...
