{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 ~ Let's Get This Over With ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!

I'm back with more inspiration for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group! Today I'm sharing a funny Christmas card featuring the super cute Let's Get This Over With stamps from our fabulous sponsor, Unity Stamp Co.! Unity has generously offered up a $25 gift card as a prize for the {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge 48 this month! So awesome!!

I'm super excited to be sharing another brand new stamp from Unity!! Yay! The fabulous August releases continue with a wonderful assortment of stamps including this fun couple with a slew of hilarious sentiments. I stamped the couple with Black Amalgam ink and Copic colored them with the following Copic markers:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R00, R20

Hair: C1, C3

Red: R20, R14, R46

White: C00, C1, C3

Green: YG11, G24, G46

Black: N0, N2, N4, N6

Bench: E51, E55, E57

I then die cut the couple using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. And I trimmed the sentiment and cut a fishtail on one side. I set those aside and found my favorite holiday paper pack from Unity called White Winter {paper pack}. I had several scraps in this paper pack so I knew it would be perfect for this sketch. I adhered them to a thin piece of card stock and then I trimmed off the excess. I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies. 

I placed the circle over the pattern paper panel and laid the die back over making sure that it was in the correct position. I secured the circle to the die using washi tape and then I ran it through my Big Shot. I added foam tape to the back of the circle and the sentiment. Adhered the striped panel to a white A2 top fold card base and then popped up the circle and sentiment. I finished off the card with three red enamel dots from my stash.

Membership Wednesday ~ August 2024 KOM and BOM ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing a lovely card featuring gorgeous stamps from the August 2024 Kit of the Month and August 2024 Background of the Month memberships from Unity. Fall is my absolute favorite! I love the colors and all the cozy vibes!

I stamped the beautiful August 2024 Background of the Month called Rustic Foliage with Black Amalgam ink on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I ink smooshed the panel with Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. This is my favorite combo for Fall inks. After I dried the panel with a Wagner Precision Heat Tool I die cut the panel with the largest die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies}. I then blended a bit of the Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.

I adhered the panel to an A2 top fold card base of Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. I set that aside and stamped the gorgeous girl and the sentiment from the August 2024 Kit of the Month. I Copic colored the girl using a bunch of fun markers. Once I was done, I fussy cut the girl leaving a very thin border around the edges.

Hat: G43, G85, G99, Y11, Y15, C00, C1

Sweater: E51, E55, E57, C00, C1

Pants: C00, C1

Green Leaves: G43, G99

Yellow Leaves: Y11, Y15, YR15, E55

I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Scallops & Banners {nesting dies}. It was very white and took attention away from the pretty girl so I decided to distress the edges with my brown blending brush. I didn't actually add ink to the brush, but it's the same brush I used earlier with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (white) from Therm O Web to the back of the girl and the sentiment and popped them up on the card. To finish it up, I added three enamel dots from my stash.

August Scraps Cards ~ Flock Talk ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!

Today I'm sharing a trio of cards I created using the larger pieces of leftover scraps I've been trying to finish up this month. Every little bit used up counts! I'm close to being finished up with these latest papers. Yay! I also played with some super cute stamps called Flock Talk from Unity Stamp Co.

Here's a look at the three cards all together. All so cute! I'd love to know if you have a favorite of the batch. I think my favorite it the one on the bottom right. I just love that birdie and the colors in the papers.

To make my backgrounds for each of these cards I used washi tape to hold the two pattern papers together. And then I secured the stitched die from the Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} over the pattern papers also with washi tape and ran it through my Big Shot. For this first card I used the following Copic markers: YR000, YR21, YR15, YR27, G00, G02, N0, N2.

I trimmed up three thin pieces of white card stock to 3-1/4 x 4-1/2" and adhered them to the back of the scraps panels securing them together. And I adhered them right over the washi tape on the back so I didn't have to worry about them shifting or anything. For my second card I used the following Copic markers: V0000, BV0000, BV20, BV11, YR21, YR15, YR27, G00, G02.

All of the pattern paper panels are adhered to white A2 top fold card bases. All of the birds are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. They are all die cut using dies from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. And the sentiments you may remember from some of my past cards. It's becoming my favorite sentiment for birthday cards. It's from the Bitty Birthday Bash stamps. For my third card I used the following Copic markers: V0000, V12, V06, C00, C1, YR21, YR15, YR27, YG11, YG03.

I trimmed the sentiments and adhered them to the circles and then I added foam tape to the back of the circles and sentiments. So happy to be nearly done with these papers! I haven't quite decided if I'm going to finish them off next week or do another card for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 24. I guess we'll see next week! Have a wonderfully inky week!

Inky Paws Challenge #229 ~ Birthday Theme Challenge Reminder

Inky Paws Challenge #229 - Birthday Theme Challenge

Birthday cards are so fun to make! I had a blast mixing and matching stamps and dies for my card!

I really couldn't narrow down what I wanted to play with so I played with them all! First up is the adorable Farmer Newton Stamp Set. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink {I use this same ink for all the stamps today} and colored him up with my Copic markers. So fun! I then stamped the Harvest Haul Stamp Set and colored it with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies for both stamp sets to die cut the images - Farmer Newton Die Set and Harvest Haul Die Set. I like to use washi tape to secure my dies... my plates for my Big Shot are old and they like to pop sometimes and move the die so securing it with washi tape seems to prevent that from happening.

Here's the list of the Copic markers I used for these two images:

Farmer Newton: R00, R20, C00, C1, C3

Hat: E33, E35, E39, YG11, YG63

Clothes: B91, B93, B95, B97, R20, R14, R46, Y15

Pitchfork: N0, N2, N4, N6, E33, E35, E39

Truck: R20, R14, YR27, R46, E33, E35, E39, N0, N2, N4, N6, C00, C1, B0000, B000, B00

Apples / Basket: YG21, YG11, G14, E30, E33, E35

Corn: YG11, YG63, Y11, Y15

Pumpkins: YR21, YR15, YR27, C00, C1, C3, E30, E33, E35

Blanket: Y11, Y15, YG11, YG63

I paired up the adorable kitty and truck with the awesome Farmyard 6x6 Paper Pad. So many fun patterns in these papers... it was hard to choose! I die cut the yellow paper using the scalloped die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I wanted to also play with the new Basic Frames Die Set so I die cut the barn paper using the large banner die. The dies in the Basic Frames Die Set compliment the dies in the Frames & Flags Die Set so well... I love it! I didn't want to cover up my fun pattern papers so I die cut a circle of vellum card stock using a die from the Circles Frames Die Set.

All of my pattern papers are adhered to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" piece of Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up. I adhered the kitty to the truck and then adhered them to the vellum circle. I was then able to add glue just behind the farmer and truck to adhere the vellum circle to the card. This trick prevents any of the glue from showing through the vellum. The fun sentiment from the Farmer Newton Stamp Set was stamped with Candied Apple Distress Ink on a banner I die cut using a die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. It's popped up on the card with foam tape.

I often like to continue my design inside the card but sometimes I forget to take a photo. Luckily, I didn't forget this time! I stamped the three chickens from the Cluck Stamp Set and colored them up with my Copic markers. Aren't they just the cutest?! Love them! Of course, I colored them to look like our chickens. I actually went a little nuts with the Sakura White Gelly Roll pen and added some white to the black chickens head but it was too much so I stamped the head on a scrap of card stock. Colored it up again and then fussy cut it on the line. I colored up the edges of the fussy cutting using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and then paper pieced the head after I die cut the chickens with the coordinating Cluck Die Set. In person there's a bit of dimension to the black chickens head, but I don't think you can really see it in the photo. I adhered a thin strip of pattern paper to the bottom of the card to ground the chickens. And then I stamped another sentiment... this time it's a sentiment from the Cluck Stamp Set. I just love how this card turned out! I hope you like it too!

Right Chicken: R20, R14, R46, YR21, YR15, YR27, N0, N2, N4, N6

Happy Halloween ~ {Boo} to You ~ Unity Stamp Co.

I'm back with a fun Halloween card for Unity's latest release. Christmas is definitely my favorite season to make cards for, but Halloween is a close second! And I am loving the adorable {Boo} to You stamps from Unity! This adorable set of stamps is also available in photopolymer... {Clearly Unity} Boo to You. Are you loving that Unity is now offering some stamps in photopolymer?! I do!

Such adorable stamps! I, of course, love the kitty! I had to include it with the ghost. I stamped the kitty and ghost using Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs and then I colored them up with my Copic markers. I then die cut them using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used:

Ghost: C00, C1, C3

Hat: YG11, YG23, V000, V12, V15, V17, N2, N4, N6

Pumpkin: YR21, YR15, YR16

Cat: R00, R20, N0, N2, N4, N6

Inspiration for my card today comes from an older Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch... lucky number 13! Haha! This is a favorite and it works really well with scraps! I had a bunch of scraps in my Trick or Treat {paper pack} so this was the perfect sketch. Of course, I altered it, but the basic design was my starting point.

I didn't want to use a larger circle to mat the ghost circle so I just die cut a circle from True Black card stock from Papertrey Ink and offset it from the focal circle. I really like the dimension it gives to the card. I stamped the sentiment using Black Amalgam ink and trimmed it up. I mat it with black card stock.

I adhered the circles together and then I adhered the sentiment to the bottom portion making sure it was lined up on the card where I wanted it. I was then able to add foam tape to the back of both pieces and then I popped them up on the card. To finish it off, I added three black enamel dots. Such a fun card to make! Fun with Circles Holiday Card ~ Just for You Dear ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend! 

Today I'm sharing one more holiday card for Unity's August release. This time I inked up the super cute and adorable Just for You Dear. This adorable stamp is also available in photopolymer... {Clearly Unity} Just for You Dear. I love that Unity offers some of their stamps in clear and rubber now!

I had a fun idea for layering circles in a card design and wanted to give it a try! I thought the deer from Just for You Dear would work perfectly with this design. I stamped the sweet deer and sentiment with Black Amalgam ink and colored up the deer with my Copic markers.

Ears: R00, R20

Scarf: R20, R14, G24, G46

I die cut the sweet deer, a green mat from Garden Green card stock from Stampin' Up, and a bunch of circles from the wonderful Watercolor Winter {paper pack} using the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies. I trimmed a mat from the same Garden Green card stock.

The green striped pattern paper in the background measures 4 x 5-1/4". It's adhered to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card front of Garden Green card stock and then I adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base. The adorable deer circles and the sentiment are popped up using foam tape. Such a fun card to make!

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 24 ~ Mousing Around: Hiya, Pal ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Today I'm sharing inspiration for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 24 in the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. Just like last week's card, I had this adorable stamped heart on my desk just asking to be made into a card. These adorable mice are from the Mousing Around: Hiya, Pal stamps from Unity. Love them!

I'm continuing to use up some of my leftover papers. This 4 x 3-1/2" piece of pattern paper is the only left in the scraps that would work with this month's sketch. All the other were cut down for last week's card so I'm thinking next week I'll do my August scraps cards. 

 

Here's a look again at the original scraps I started with this month. I should have taken a current picture so you could see what's left. It's not nearly this much.

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch Challenge 24. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I like to think my inspiration is usually a good example of this since I'm always adjusting the sketch. Today is no different since I added the heart over the pattern paper.

 I stamped the mice from the Mousing Around: Hiya, Pal with Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs. I stamped the hearts with a reddish purple ink but since this has been sitting on my desk for months, I'm not sure what actual ink I used. I die cut the mice using a die from the Dashes and Frills Hearts {die set}. I colored up the mice with my Copic markers. I coordinated my colors with the papers. 

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used: 

Black: N0, N2, N4, N6

White: C00, C1, C3

Yellow: Y15, Y06, Y38

Pinky Purple: RV10, V91, V93, V95

Red: R20, R14, R46

Ground: C00, C1

I adhered the pattern paper to a 4 x 5-1/4" piece of Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I trimmed up the star paper and adhered it to the heart and then I added a bunch of foam tape to the back of both the heart and the star paper. I popped those up on the panel and then I adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base. The sentiment was also a scrap on my desk. I know it's Unity but I'm really not sure which stamp.
