Lasting Beauty ~ Nocturnal Nature ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Why make one card when you can make two?! I ink smooshed a quick half sheet of white card stock so I thought... why not make two cards. So I did! I used the gorgeous new Nocturnal Nature for a couple of quick mixed media style cards.

I ink smooshed the half sheet of white card stock using Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Inks. I was sure to leave some white in the background for contrast.

I stamped the grid and grunge stamps three times on each panel using Black Amalgam ink. I also stamped the sentiments alternating placement on each panel just to change them up a little.

For my first card, I die cut the panel using the second largest die in the Deckle & Stitches Nesting dies. I considered adhering the panel to a black card front but decided to ink smoosh another card front with the same three purples. I added foam tape to the back of my focal panel and adhered it to the card front and then adhered the panel to a white A2 top fold card base.

For my second card, I die cut the panel using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting dies and adhered it to a black A2 top fold card base. I set aside the cards and stamped the moths. I colored them with just a few Copic markers: YG00, YG11, and YG23.

I fussy cut the moths close to the black line and popped them up on the cards with foam tape. And then I finished them both off with a few glitter enamel dots from my stash. I think these turned out pretty nice.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Let Your Light Lead ~ Sacred Flight {Luna Moth} ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
It's Crazy Days over at Unity! I am in love with the gorgeous Sacred Flight {Luna Moth} stamps. Absolutely gorgeous!!

I inked up a fun background using the gorgeous luna moth stamp and then I stamped one more on a large scrap. This stamp is pretty big! I inked smooshed my background using Mustard Seed and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Inks.

I die cut the background using the largest die from the Deckle & Stitches Nesting dies. And then I adhered the panel to a black A2 top fold card base. I colored up my luna moth with just a few Copic markers: Y11, Y15, RV10, RV02, RV04.

I fussy cut the luna moth leaving a white border. I spattered the card front and the luna moth with Liquid Pixie Dust from Inkon3 to give it a lot of fun shine. Once it was dry I added foam tape to the back of the luna moth and the trimmed sentiment and popped them both up on the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Membership Monday ~ June 2021 KOM Magical Summer Days ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I am starting something new here on my blog... Membership Monday! I'm hoping to share inspiration for different memberships that are available over at Unity Stamp Co. each Monday of the month, as long as life doesn't get in the way. *Smile* For my first post, I have a fun mini slimline using the beautiful moths from the June 2021 Kit of the Month called Magical Summer Days.

This is a pretty simple card with the moths stamped on a piece of white card stock with Gina K. Design Amalgam black ink. I heat set the ink and then colored up the moths very simply with a few Copic markers. Since I don't have any mini slimline dies yet, I die cut the panel with a Scalloped Stitched Slimline die from Gina Marie Designs and then repositioned the die to cut off the bottom portion. If you look closely at the bottom there's a couple stitched lines from the first cut, but it's not super noticeable.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for this card:

Top Moth ~ BG000, BG01, BG15, YR14, YR24
Middle Moth ~ B0000, B00, YR14, YR24
Bottom Moth ~ G000, G00, YG41, YR14, YR24

I added some Liquid Pixie Dust splatters to the scalloped panel and set it aside to dry. I have been wanting to use the cool eyelash ribbon that my sweet friend Bobbie Sue sent me forever ago and I thought it would be fun to use with these moths. I chose a light brown one that coordinates nicely with the bodies of the moths and wrapped it around a 3 x 6" piece of black card stock taping the ends to the back of the panel. I then adhered the panel to a white 6 x 6" card base that I scored at 3". I popped up the scalloped panel with foam tape and then popped up the sentiment, also with foam tape.

I hope you've been inspired to pull out your Kit of the Month and get it inky! I'll see you next Monday with a pretty card I created using the June 2021 Uniquely Unity membership stamp!
