~ Friends of Unity February 2022 Blog Hop ~

 Hello there crafty friend!
It's one of my favorite times of the month... time for the Friends of Unity Blog Hop!!
I've been excited for this month's hop because our cue is one of my favorites. Any guesses what it may be?! I bet if you've followed my blog for awhile you could make a pretty good guess. Well, let's have a peek at our cue this month...

... A FUN SKETCH! Yay!! I love a good sketch... and this one was fun to play with. I have two cards to share with you today!

My first card is a pretty mini slimline card using a new release from Unity called The Girl Moves Forward. This beauty is a new Angie Girl by the one and only Angie Blom... love this new girl! I paired her up with the beautiful Simple Spring {paper pack}.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for this beautiful girl:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ E43, E44, E47
Pants ~ C00, C2
Shirt ~ C00, C2, R01, R12, R22
Hair Tie ~ YR0000, YR30, R01, R12, R22, BG23

The sentiment is also from the The Girl Moves Forward stamp kit... I cut a couple scraps of card stock to fit under the sentiment to pop it up a bit. This is an alternative to using foam tape that I like to use... it doesn't give as much bulk to the card. I finished off the card with a bit of {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String.

*Squeal* I am SO excited that Unity has Winnie the Pooh stamps in red rubber!! Woohoo! So stinking fun and I couldn't wait to play with this cutie from the Winnie the Pooh: How Do You Spell Love stamp kit! I went with the A2 size for this one but adjusted my layers so I could use the fantastic Scallops & Rectangles {nesting dies} - unfortunately, these are currently sold out.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used for this card:

Piglet ~ RV0000, RV10, RV14, RV21
Pooh ~ Y06, Y11, Y15
Flowers / Leaf ~ Y02, Y11, Y15, YG03, YG11
Ground ~ YG03, YG11
Sky ~ B0000, B00

My card stock layers are Spring Rain and Spring Moss from Papertrey Ink. And I used some more of the {Ivory} May Arts Burlap String around the top of the card front.

My design just wouldn't allow for the second sentiment on the front so I brought the image and sentiment inside the card. Piglet and Pooh are stamped with Weathervane ink from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Now before we get to the hopping, I chose a lucky winner from the comments on last month's hop to win a fun prize package and that lucky winner is...

  3. I love the mini slimline size, but it is not very popular here. Your cards are lovely, and great to see Winnie the Pooh is now available for general use

  4. Two awesome cards and both are very different, although they use the same sketch - love them both. I need to use sketches more often, and I can't wait to get my hands on the new Winnie the Pooh stamps.

  7. Had to laugh at the SQUEEL as my next door neighbor is an avid whinnie the pooh lover and squeals with just the mention of any darling line from it. She has never been a stamper (actually draws brilliantly ) but I'm thinking she may be considering it now. I really love how the card finishes the "thought" on the inside with a black and white image. I will try that.... it is darling!

  14. I love everything about both of your cards! The first stamp I bought in a digi stamp from Angie Blom. I have used it for teen cards several times. I colored the hair to match the color of hair of the card recipient. I was happy to see this in red rubber. My Pooh stamp arrived yesterday. The sentiment you used is why I chose this stamp!
