Hello Pumpkin

Hello Pumpkin... haha! Is it too late in the season for pumpkin stuff? Well, I happened to see a card challenge today that looked like fun... Tic Tac Toe Challenge! Not surprising the key words that caught my eye were Pumpkin, Beverage, and Chevron...

And this is what I came up with. The design popped into my head and I just had to go for it. I ended up changing it up a bit from how I envisioned it, but I love the way it turned out! The card came together pretty quickly. I used digi stamps that I already had on my desk... Coffee Please by Verve Stamps. I colored them in using copic markers and fussy cut them out. I used a label punch for the sentiment and then punched out a couple pieces of Canyon Clay card stock from Papertrey Ink to layer the sentiment. I used my chevron punch from Stampin Up! for the bottom of the card front. I adhered a piece of Canyon Clay card stock behind the chevron. I added a couple strips of washi tape and some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo drops. I popped up the whole rectangle stitched panel using dimensionals. I'm loving it!

For once, I'm ahead of the game... or challenge... for this one, so there's still plenty of time to play along. Click on the picture above to go check out the challenge.

More Cards with the November Flavor of the Month Kit from SFL

Hello! I had mentioned during the November Flavor of the Month blog hop that I made 4 cards for each collection using the 4 different sketches. I already shared 4 of the cards during the blog hop. Today, I'll be sharing 12 more cards!! So let's just get started!

My first batch of cards feature the elements from Collection One. I really enjoyed using the different papers from Echo Park's Just Be You paper pack that were included in this collection. They made the cards come together so quickly... of course, the fun sketches were also a help!

For this next batch of cards from Collection Two, I used the cute little sheep again... BUT I also wanted to use the fun Cute as a Button stamp set from Sunny Studio that came with the Banana Split level. I can't get over how easy those buttons were to stamp and they look so real! I also wanted to use the Thank You die from Xcut so I used that on the last card.

My third batch of cards from Collection Three came together pretty easily with the fun Geometric Mono papers by PaperMania. I had fun stamping the Peacock Feather stamp a few times for each focal point. I think my favorite card is the one with grey and black feathers, but that sketch was the most fun for me too. So, I guess that would make sense. 

My last batch of cards from Collection Four were probably the easiest of them all. I used the Woodgrain papers in a way that they would contrast each other and help make the focal point shine. I also utilized the stickers included in the kit to make for quick focal point images. But I couldn't leave out the fun Cup of Thanks set by Brutus Monroe... I just had to ink up the 'to go' cup and those cute whoopie pies! Oh my goodness, those were fun to color!

Sending Thanks with Flavor of the Month

Today, I'm sharing just four of the cards that I made using the kit this month. I used the Double Dip Sundae Level for my cards.

 I challenged myself to make four cards from each collection using the four sketches and I had a blast doing it. But again, I'm only sharing four of the cards. So let's get started...

My first card for Collection One uses Sketch #2. The One of a Kind set by Altenew is a beautiful little set with so many possibilities. I used the No Line Coloring technique for this card. I had a lot of fun coloring this one. The sketch really made this card come together fast. My last little touch was adding a few sequins.

My second card for Collection Two uses Sketch #1. Now with this card, I ended up flipping the sketch and making it my own. How cute are those little sheep, though?! They look like they're having fun! I stamped the sheep in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them in with copic markers. I masked them and then blended some distress inks to make my scene. I stamped a few hearts and added some sequins. I also added some touches of white gel pen, but that's hard to see in the picture.

My third card for Collection Three uses Sketch #3. When I saw this raindrop paper I just knew I had to use it for this sketch. I love that the paper is split like you're not sure where the rain starts or ends. I kept to a black and white color scheme for this one. I did add a touch of silver with the thread but I think it works well with the shimmer from the embossed feather. 

My last card for Collection Four uses Sketch #4. This is my most favorite collection of the four... I mean, it is coffee themed! I also loved the woodgrain papers!! I was tempted to do a similar background to my sneak peek card but decided instead to let the papers shine. I love the contrast of the dark grey 'wood' with the light 'pine wood'. I stamped the coffee beans directly on the 'pine wood' paper and then colored them in with copic markers. I then stamped the sentiment on a strip of the 'pine wood' paper and fussy cut it into a banner. I die cut a stitched oval with the light blue card stock and die cut a small piece of the grey 'wood' paper. I adhered that to the blue oval and set it aside. I stamped the coffee cup and steam on a scrap piece of white card stock and colored them in with copic markers. Before coloring them, though, I decided the cup needed something so I stamped the heart from the Cute as a Button Sunny Studio set (so, I guess I used some Banana Split level items on this last card... oops!) I adhered those pieces to my 'table' and thought... it needs something so I added the flower which has a touch of red in the center of the flower, but you really can't see that in this picture. You may just have to take my word for it. Lol.

November FOTM Sneak Peek!!!

Hello and Happy almost Thanksgiving! I have a cute sneak peek of the November Flavor of the Month card kit!! OMG! I am loving this card kit! Teresa and Kim are really putting some fabulous kits together!

Since this is a sneak peek, I don't want to spill the beans *wink* *wink* but I am in love with a certain collection in the card kit!! OMG! 

For this card I created a background for my card base and then cut a strip of white and added some patterned papers to layer. I colored the cup and steam using copic markers. I adhered all the layers to the card base and then stamped my sentiment. I added a couple embellishments and called it done!

Do you ever get so many card ideas that you just don't know what to do? I was really struggling on a design for this one... just too many ideas. So I decided to check out some of my favorite sketch challenge sites and decided to play along with CASE this Sketch! I thought it was a fun sketch and it finally got me inky!

Sending Fuzzy Cuddles

Hello! I am loving Heffy Doodle's Beary Big Heart! I'm a bit of a Pluviophile... I'm not sure that it's an actual word, but I've seen it around. It means a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days. I love the rain! I always have.

When I saw the cute umbrella in the Beary Big Heart set, I knew I had to make a card with rain so I could use the umbrella stamp. I still had my Nuvo Mousses out on my desk so I dived in!! Using a blending tool I sponged some Aquamarine mousse on a piece of white card stock. I then die cut it out using the My Favorite Things Blueprint 14 Die-namics set. I dug through my stencil collection to find a raindrop stencil. Using microfiber tape I taped down my stencil over the white card stock and then used a spatula to add some Pacific Teal mousse. I love this monochromatic look to the card! I decided to stick with it and colored the umbrella with some blue green copic markers {BG10, BG18, BG72}. I love grey with teal so the little bear just had to be grey... I used copics to color him in too {N1, N3, N4, N5}. I die cut some dark teal card stock and layered that on a 5" x 5" white card base. I popped up the white raindrop panel. I then grabbed a scrap of the dark teal card stock... I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using a fine white embossing powder. I fussy cut the banner end and then popped that up on the card. I adhered the umbrella to the bear and then adhered them to the card. I love that the bear looks happy in the rain!

Here's a picture to show some of the shimmer from the Nuvo mousses! I just love it!

Heffy Doodle Comes to Reside @ Scrapping for Less

Heffy Doodle is a brand new stamp company that just got started this summer. They have so many very cute designs! I am hoping that you are going to fall in love with these adorable designs as much as all of us over here at Scrapping for Less have. Lesley is a super sweet lady and oh my, the talent that she has in these cute images. Take a look at all the sweet and cute things the Design Team has whipped up for the blog hop today. Oh and just in case you did not get a chance to read the Brand Focus interview you can find that on the Scrapping for Less Blog. 

Aren't these bears just adorable! I'm sharing the Beary Big Heart set with you today. I stamped the bears and the little card on scraps of white card stock and then colored them in using copic markers. I also stamped the heart bear on a piece of Knit Picky patterned paper. I paper pieced the heart by cutting it out very closely to the black line and then I glued it onto the heart bear that I had colored in. I just love the look of the patterned paper... the knit looks like hearts! It's so cute! I fussy cut the bears and set them aside. I die cut the wonky stitched square and then used the next smallest size to cut out the center giving me a frame. I set that aside too and then I grabbed a white card base. I marked off my inner area for the framed square very lightly with a pencil. I haven't touched my Nuvo Mousses for awhile so I pulled out my Aquamarine and Spring Green and used those to make my background. I tore a mask from a large post it note to separate my sky from the ground. I then used my finger tip to get some color and then gently rubbed on the card stock staying within the pencil lines that I had made. I removed the mask and very carefully 'finger painted' the grass area. I love the softness and shimmer to the background that the mousse gives. Next I erased all of my pencil marks. I popped up the wonky frame. I adhered the bears and the little card. I then stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo black ink. My last touch was the bow for the girl bear. I stamped it on a scrap of white card stock and then I grabbed my Pink Flambe Nuvo Mousse and again using my finger tip colored in the little bow. I fussy cut it out and then adhered it to the bear. I just love how this card turned out! I think I might just give this one to my husband for Valentine's Day.

The Small Stuff

Hello! It's been awhile since I've played along with the CASology challenge. I happened to see the current challenge cue card is Tiny. I got curious and decided to check out the challenge. I was inspired by Anna's card...

 I loved the simple but sweet image and sentiment inside of the stitched rectangle. So for my card, I decided to emboss the Wonky Rectangle from My Favorite Things on my white card base. I stamped the little Charlie Brown tree and sentiment from Unity's Small Stuff Christmas kit using a dark brown ink. I colored the image in using my Crayola colored pencils... they were handy on my desk. I just love this little tree... a simple and quick Christmas card!

More Fun with the Merry & Bright Flavor of the Month card kit

Hello! Today I have five more cards I made using the October Flavor of the Month card kit.

I just adore the papers in the Knit Picky paper pack. I used them to give these little otters a snowy scene to play in. I added a few snowflake sequins and also some Christmas red stickles to the heart and candy cane. I blended some red ink onto the Merry Christmas stickers. I adhered all of my layers onto a red card base. It almost looks like they are sliding down a snowy hill. Love it!

For this card I revisited sketch #2, I thought it was a fun sketch to use with the Merry Selfie stamp included in Collection 4. I watercolored the image and die cut it out with a circle die. I then adhered it to a red scalloped circle. I set that aside and adhered the patterned papers to a white card base. I adhered the image to the card and then decided to add some washi tape to the bottom layer. My last touch was adding one of the wood icons that I glitterfied {I don't think that's a word but it should be!} with the Christmas red stickles and a gold wink of stella pen.

This card came together really quickly thanks to the ephemera piece that I used as my focal point. I die cut the patterned papers and adhered them to a red card front. I then adhered the entire card front to a white card base. I popped up the Merry Christmas piece and glitterfied it *wink wink* using the stickles again. I adhered the little snowflake and called this card done. A simple but pretty card.

I love using word dies to create a faux embossed look. For this card, I adhered just about five of the die cut Merry Christmas' to one side of a white card front and then I cut some patterned papers to adhere to the other side. I cut up one of the patterned papers that had several cute little sentiments and decided to use the Merry Christmas piece. I adhered it to a piece of red card stock and trimmed it down. I then adhered it to the card. You can't see it in the picture, but I added some subtle glitter to the Merry Christmas die cuts and to the Merry Christmas piece. In person, it's all glitterfied... is it catching on yet? Haha!

My last card for today was super simple. I die cut the Merry Christmas from the green card stock. I cut a couple strips of patterned paper and set them aside. I added a strip of the gold washi tape to the white card base. I adhered the strips of patterned paper and the Merry Christmas die cut piece. I used a corner rounder on the little square of patterned paper and stapled a little gold ribbon to it. I popped that up on the card and added just a little Christmas red stickles to the flower. Another simple but cute card. I sure hope that you like the cards I made. I know I had fun making them!
